Chase's ears were perked in the direction of the deer as he listened to their hooves stomping towards the group of Wolves who were lying in wait. And when the prey arrived the Wolves did their thing, latching onto the does with everything they had. Emile leapt from the bushes the moment the buck was close enough, he was alone on the buck and despite his size Chase wondered if he'd be enough. It became clear rather quickly that the buck might escape even with jaws on it's throat and Chase rushed out of the bushes to join the Alpha in trying to keep it down.

Chase sunk his teeth into one side of it's neck that Emile had a hold of to help keep the deer from moving so that the Alpha wolf could finish the job. He tugged and whipped his head harshly at the prey's resistance whilst growling, giving as much force in the opposite direction as Emile. The sound of both the buck and doe's cries as well as the packs growling filled his ears.

Ashley smirked, now in a position where she could see Elijah directly as she worked, "Oh, he's dead." She said, though didn't look bothered by the idea of it. She was less upset about being abandoned by the angel now, knowing she had the support of both Eli and Mac. She continued on with her work uncovering a portion of him and then recovering it once she was satisfied and deemed it clean before moving onward. She was soon around the bed, back to where she had started, taking the secondary blanket from his lap she brought it up to wrap over his shoulders and drape down his chest. "Should be an interesting show," She continued, tilting Eli's head back so she could bring the newly wettened cloth to his head, doing her best to 'wash' his hair without running water. "How much you think we could sell seats for? You know, to watch her try and kill an angel?"

Mackenzie removed the goods from the oven and set them a top to cool before turning and raising an eyebrow at Will. "Well, Mr. Councilmen, how long do you think they'll live with me in the same tent as them?" It was a fair question, and she was only partially joking. Though the idea that they would be at this, potentially long term, did manage to make her smile. She stepped back to where she had been before the timer had gone off, slipping her arms around his waist and bringing herself to lean against him, dark eyes meeting grey. "Are you sure Brendan actually was defending me? It didn't just sound like it?"

iryB73Q.jpg

Sandy moved onward as instructed by Solomon, bringing him into the Command Tent's center where the two Council Members waited, seated on opposite sides of the table. Both paused whatever conversation they had been having prior to their arrival and turned their attention to the two that had entered. Sandy brought Solomon to be at the bottom of the table, moving a chair aside to leave space for him. She came back to his side and touched his shoulder. "I'll be waiting outside, for when you're done." She was not part of the Council, nor did she have anything to do with Solomon's quest.

Once Sandy was gone, the woman of the two Councilmen spoke. "Good Morning, Mr. David, I'm glad to see you are recovering well. Miss Jones has expressed your need to speak to the Council, and while she may not be a hunter herself, she has good instincts. This is Councilmen Brendan Jack, I am Angela Spatafora."

M9vyuPi.jpg

With Chase's help he and Emile were able to hold the buck until it finally ended it's attempts to flee and collapsed beneath them. He released it's throat with a huff, panting to regain his breath whilst the remainder of the pack started to rejoin the hunters. Those that had taken the doe's down were entitled to their hearts, and while typically the buck would have been Emile's kill, he was proud to have had Chase actually join them. Once recovered he rolled the buck onto it's side before moving away from it slightly. Malcolm had arrived from where he had been assigned, and knowing Emile's wishes came to Chase's side and nudged the smaller wolf towards the kill.

Already the downed doe's were being carried off, back to the Pack's Den to be prepared for the evening, enjoyed and celebrated, leaving the hunters to continue on they foray for the remainder of the day.

"How much you think we could sell seats for? You know, to watch her try and kill an angel?"

Elijah chuckled at the comment, bringing a flare of pain to his abdomen. The laughter ceased as his muscles tensed, his free hand reaching up involuntarily to find support. It landed on Ashley-May's wrist, though he quickly lowered it back to his lap. "The sky's the limit," he said whimsically. "I don't know how much 'trying' would be involved, though. That woman is a force of nature. If anyone can find a way to kill an angel, it'd be her," he remarked, only half-joking.

"I would offer to help, you know," he said lightly, tilting his neck in order to give Ashley-May easier access to his head. "Defend the lady's honor and all. But I'm afraid I'm not quite up to the task and I don't think Mac would wait up on my account."

upload_2017-6-11_23-27-38.jpeg
William smiled down at Mac as she slipped into his embrace again. "Hard to believe, I know. But he was stubborn, Mac -- belligerent, even. Shouting and arguing. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he learned a thing or two from you after all," he said with a smirk, leaning down to plant a playful kiss on her forehead. He chose not to bring up Mac's mentioned history at the Nest, her part in Christopher's capture. That was a conversation for another time, another place.

After a pause, Will bit his lip before speaking. "I saw Ash on her way to the Clinic on the way in. Is she still pissed?" he asked anxiously.

As soon as he sat down, he chuckled at the absurdity of the situation. He was with a Norse god, evidently looking for another god, while a human sarcastically prodded him while riding shotgun. After hearing them discussing how to find her, Eddie thought he would chime in.
"Who are you looking for? You said it was a god. Aren't gods supposed to affect what surrounds them? Like if it was the god of spring, we could look for trees that look healthy... or something.... you guys wouldn't happen to have a bottle of water, would you?"

Chase paused as the body of the deer stilled and only released when it became clear it no longer lived. He stepped away, panting as he turned his head to look on as the pack started to drag the two doe away. When Emile shoved the bucks body somewhat Chase brought his attention back, just as the Beta arrived and nudged him. One look towards Emile who had taken a step back from the kill made it obvious he was being presented with it. Though it was difficult to decipher exactly what they were trying to communicate. He considered simply declining but simply moved around to the underside of the deer instead, biting into the flesh and gnawing until he came to the no longer beating organ of life.

Once it was consumed Chase backed away before looking towards the Alpha as he licked at his muzzle and chops to clean the blood. He'd accepted the heart but the rest could easily be taken back used for tonight like the others, whether that was the initial plan or not he couldn't tell but that was what he was attempting to communicate.

Ashley-May grimaced as Elijah was pained by laughter; she knew he would feel that twinge for a long time to come given where his injury was. She waited for it to pass and him to continue speaking before she continued with her work on his hair. Elijah certainly wasn’t wrong about Mac, she was something else, and if she didn’t know her as she did, she would have assumed she was something supernatural herself.

Ash rolled her eyes, “I don’t feel like either ‘Lady’ or ‘Honor’ describes me at this point, given the predicament I got myself into.” One hand stroked the wet towel through his hair while the other combing her fingers through to remove any gnarls from the days previous; the surgical team had done what they could, but his hair was still caked and knotted with blood and mud. “I spent my whole life telling myself I wasn’t going to be like her, like my mom. Single, penniless, uneducated mother and yet here I am.” She regretting bringing it up and continued on quickly. “Mac’s making breakfast, she promised more pastries.”

Mackenzie was surprised at Will’s description of Brendan’s actions; certainly not what she had expected the man to do on her behalf and despite Will being adamant about it, she was certainly it was more for Will than herself. She smiled up to him as he inquired about Ash and there was a moment she thought to draw it out, tease him and make him worry, but given what she had learned, and what she was planned, decided against it.

“No, she’s not mad. She asked the same about you and I told her the same.” She gave a little sigh, “She’s … moody right now, understandably. She told me she’s pregnant.” Mac paused, not sure how to state the rest of this; she wasn’t even sure if Will would know the term. “She’s carrying Alaric’s child: a Nephilim.”

Christopher glanced briefly to Eddie before turning his eyes back to the road that would lead them to New Jersey. “Hade’s wife: Persphony? Perpiratry? Something like that. Apparently the Greek gods keep losing their wives and asking the ants to find them.” Chris was less than thrilled to be on this adventure at all, why the gods needed humans to find their own was beyond him. The two men the back remained silent, they had been to New York after the first goddess, they were not looking forward to the second.

The Pack waited and watched as Chase accepted the offer from the Alpha, it was a rare gesture for the pack leader to make, to offer his own kill to another, more so to a new pack member. Chase was a rarity himself, given his participation and seemingly easy transition into pack life. Malcolm had witness and was concerned with Emile sudden infatuation with the new wolf; it was one thing to remain flirtatious as he had been, even if Chase didn’t pick up on it, it was another to make this sort of gesture. Chase didn’t understand the significance of it, something that the Alpha typically only did for his Mate or kin and Chase was neither.

Once Chase had devoured the heart the pack was moving again, those that had followed closing in to collect the kill and drag it off whilst the remaining hunters now gathered nearby waiting. Morgan and Brody both among them, Morgan as energetic as before, bounding down the slight slope to her uncles side, immediately licking at the Alpha’s bloody maw. She had not been part of the hunt, still far too small to participate, but she was not about to return to camp with the others when she knew the hunters were going to play and relax.

Brody arrived, having finished his own heart; he and Malcolm had been positioned to take down the two does. With everyone now gathered Emile heading off further into the woods in the direction Chase had been the other day, the stream he had used to drink from on his way to searching for the pack. The other members slowly following in line behind and around the Alpha, Morgan waited for Chase, like him she had no place in the group of hunters, not yet.

Elijah frowned, reaching up to take Ashley-May's hand with his own -- deliberately this time -- and bringing it away from his head for a moment. "Hey," he said intently, tilting his head up to make eye contact. "We've been over this. You didn't do anything wrong, remember? Besides: you're here saving lives, including mine. I didn't know your mother, but I do know you... and I'd say she didn't do such a bad job. You're going to be an amazing mother, Ashley-May." He finished with a smile, releasing her hand.

"She told me she’s pregnant.”

William's first reaction was to assume that Mac was joking, that she was about to make some turn of phrase or witty comment. Instead, she revealed the father to be Alaric, an angel. The only angel William had ever met. Will's eyes widened. He didn't even know that was possible... but the word 'Nephilim' brought to mind a brief and obscure lesson in lore Elijah had given him months ago. Neither had expected to actually run into one, of course.

"How's she taking it?" Will asked finally.

Thor glanced at Eddie and then at Christopher "I am a god of spring among other things, that doesn't help us with this though, however the problem is that Persephone has warded herself, so I can not find her, not within two weeks at least. That is why you hunters are here, it is what you do after all? Finding and dealing with supernatural beings. I'm here to make sure that nothing, or well very few things, can stop us.".

Chase watched as the pack took the bucks corpse away, some would return. The hunters would group up and start moving further into the woods, and he'd catch sight of Morgan watching so he'd saunter her direction as the two followed the larger group. Chase assumed those distinctive rules Malcolm had set were just for the hunt and now that it was over he was free to do whatever. It was clear where they were headed by the smell of fresh water, the thought of having a drink causing him to have a quick lick of his lips.

When they inevitably arrived he was able to quench that thirst by the streams edge, Chase didn't wander far from the larger group of wolves. He wasn't entirely sure what was going to happen yet, he assumed they'd be drinking and heading back to the camp. Also this little exercise had meant to show him his place in the pack but Chase was admittedly unsure how that had gone in the end, he'd admit that the hunt was exhilarating and different than his solo hunts. And in that moment of thought he considered when would be a good time to get away to meet up with with Will and Mac. Going too soon would look far too suspicious, but the quicker they got the information the better, and Chase had questions of his own for them.

Ashley-May blinked in surprise at Elijah took her hand and gave her what could only be considered as a heart felt speech. She wasn't sure what to make of it, but she felt a flush rise to her cheeks. She returned his smile and nodded. "Thanks." It was odd, coming from Eli; he was acting rather seriously. She idly wondered if his near death experience had changed his view on the world around him, but she thought it better not to ask him why he was acting the way he was and simply accept it.

Hand freed she resumed her work, and once she deemed it done -or as good as it was going to get with the tools they had, she put the wet cloth and sheet on a chair. "Don't get all weird on me." She warned him, pulling the sheet on his lap to give him a moderate amount of coverage she was peeling up his gown to inspect the bandages covering wound on his abdomen. As she suspected they had not yet been changed. She gave Eli another annoyed look before she was turning to leave the room. "Don't leave." She called back to him, stepping out the door.

Mackenzie watched Will and waited as he finally managed to process exactly what she had said, it was clear even he hadn't known the lore, or at least the warnings she had heard. He inquired as to how Ash was doing and she sighed a little. "On the outside? She's acting like it's nothing, like it's ordinary." She bit her lip. "But I could see little cracks, in her composure. She's scared and I don't blame her." Even Mac fell worry, though likely for far different reasons. "She knows I'll take care of her, or at least I told her so, but ... I don't know."

The pack drank from the stream as they needed before wandering off rather chaotically, some wandered to the woods or found a soft place to lay in the tall grass enjoying the sunlight, whilst others shifted back to their humans selves and waded into the deeper parts of the water to lounge and relax. Among those that returned to their human form was Malcolm, having shifted in the woods he now returned with a pile of clothing. An assortment of odds and ends that typically remained by the stream for this sort of event, he'd donned a pair of long shorts, others doing the same.

Morgan bounded across the shallow part of the stream towards where Emile drank, pausing a few feet away from her uncle. She slowly started stalking towards the larger wolf and when close enough pounced, playfully growling at the larger wolf. Emile yelped, in jest, tumbling to his side and playing at being taken down by Morgan, the girls front paws on his side as she had a mouthful of the thick fur around his throat. After a moment she leapt over him and bolted for the woods behind. Emile waited a few seconds, knowing his stride was far longer, for his niece to get a heads start before rolling onto his feet and giving chase.

Malcolm approached where Chase was standing and had watched the spectacle before speaking, "This time is relaxation, after a successfully hunt. Those that participated can do as they please, where ever they would like. The pack typically likes to keep near Emile, but it's not required. If you want to go back to camp, your more than welcome to." He offered the wolf a smile. "Good work, today. I imagine you've impressed Emile with your decision to help in the hunt rather than just observe."

Himiko was faced with a bit of a predicament, her boss had told her to attempt to peacefully get this group of vamps to stop hunting humans. "As you are all aware," she started again very aware of the fact that they were slowly cutting off her escape routes...fools, "We would prefer that the hunters not be...distracted. The Apocalypse threatens us all and your aggressive hunting is not exactly helpful. We hope that you will acquiesce to our wishes." Unfortunately the woman already knew the reply she would be faced with.

"Who are you to tell us what to do," a vamp spat out

"I say we kill her now and be done with it"

Himiko showed no signs of agitation or fear and spoke once more to the apparent leader of the group "If you are unwilling to agree to stop, we will be forced to take...extreme measures."

The leader laughed and gave her a counter offer "Or, you can crawl back to whatever hole you came from, and tell whoever sent you to mind their business" Himiko sighed slightly and bowed slightly before starting to walk away, the vampires who had cut off her exit reluctantly and one of then their leader made a huge mistake. "And tell them not to send some bitch to do a man's job."

Himiko stopped dead in her tracks and tilted her head ever so slightly before unbuttoning her cuffs and smiling to herself "I suppose I can send a different message to my employer..."

Less than ten minutes later the only person walking out of the broken down shack was the small 5'4" woman who was busy fixing the cuffs of her now very bloody suit and blouse. She took out a phone and made a call "Unfortunately they did not take kindly to your suggestion." Himiko hung up and started to walk off but stopped and looked directly at one of the Men of Letter scouts that had been keeping an eye on the vampires as of late. She gave a curt smirk at him and walked into the woods, almost as to send a direct message.

"Don't get all weird on me."

Elijah nodded, giving Ashley-May an anxious smile as she inspected his bandages with a less-than-pleased glare. In truth, he had surprised even himself with what he'd said to her... but he honestly believed she needed to hear it. She was a friend -- one who had saved his life, no less -- and she was going through a rough time. Humor and insincere wit could only get one so far. He didn't like "real talk" -- hence the standing policy between Will and himself -- but for Ash he was willing to make an exception.

As she stood and walked from the room with a warning to stay put, he called after her, "Are you sure? I thought I'd go grab us a bagel or two!" sliding easily back into his wheelhouse with a smile as he waited for her to return.

upload_2017-6-12_16-58-33.jpeg
"She knows I'll take care of her, or at least I told her so, but ... I don't know."

William reached up to run his hand gently across Mackenzie's cheek. "Hey. You will. I know it. And me and Elijah will help," he said softly. "I figure between the four of us, that kid has a better shot than most," he said with a slight smirk. He didn't know where Alaric had disappeared to and wouldn't be counting on his presence. "I know why you're worried. I don't know as much as you and Elijah about Nephilim... but I know enough. But we'll get through it, one step at a time. All of us."

GxQZJgl.jpg

Ashley-May returned to the room a few moments later: hands washed carrying fresh bandages, sterile swaps and a set of surgical gloves. "I already told you Mac's bringing breakfast, though I doubt very much it's bagels." She set the bandages and swaps on his lap, slipping the gloves of her hands, welcoming the return to the old Eli. As much as she appreciated his comforting words they were starting to feel akin to something more than their friendship. She blamed her idle thoughts on nephilim-pregnancy brain, the Elijah she knew did not view her as anything more than a friend.

Returning focus to the task at hand she carefully started to peel back the medical tape adhering the previous cover. "Well the ladies are going to love you." She teased., doing her best not to tear out too much skin and hair.

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie smiled up at Will, listening to him speak soothingly. She gave a small laugh, "You know I probably should not be in charge of any kids ... like ever, right?" She gave him a squeeze before standing on her toes to kiss his lips gently. "I know it'll be okay," She knew what she had to do, and at least now she knew she could trust Will to keep up his end of things, just in case Hypnos decided he didn't need his Oracle as much as thought he did.

"We should bring breakfast over," She continued, begrudgingly releasing him, "Before the King of England gets upset it's late. He and I need to have some words, as well. He lied to me yesterday."

Chase's ears had perked up at the whine, the wolf spotting Morgan and her uncle playing. It was such an odd concept to see two wolves doing it despite the fact that he understood it. Hunting, fighting, travelling, escaping, and even stress relief. Those were what he'd always used this form for. Sure, he'd played to an extent on his own being silly when he was younger but alone. Chase never attempted much of it with Joe, despite the fact that the man accepted him for who he was he never wanted to unintentionally stress him out. That never stopped Joe from playing fetch with him a few times back in the day. Chase always voiced that he wasn't a dog and didn't really enjoy it, but it was more of a bonding of sorts and truly he did enjoy it. Not that he'd ever tell Joe that. He played catch like anyone else with his father as a kid, but fetch was the wolf equivalent with a human parent to him.

Eyes followed the pair as they swiftly ran into the woods, and Malcolm's voice brought him from his momentary stupor. His head turned to look at the man as he continued speaking, the wolf sat before he started shifting back to his human form. Chase offered Malcolm a sheepish smile in return, nodding in thanks as he took a pair of shorts from the Beta and slipped them on. "You'd told me not to do anything, and to remain by his side. When he got involved it wasn't really like I could do both, I realized it was more of a test at that point." Chase shrugged, looking over his shoulder at those relaxing in the water. "Think I'll hang around here a bit. I'm supposed to be learning how to be a wolf right?" Referencing the way Emile had worded it earlier, "And this is a part of that."

"I did want to mention something I left out yesterday." Chase had a feeling Malcolm didn't want anyone hearing exactly so he'd taken a step closer and lowered his voice somewhat. "Mackenzie is an oracle." He used her fake name that way in case someone heard they might not put two and two together, then stepped back again. "I mentioned it to Emile this morning, didn't want you to get blindsided later and you deserved to know."

"Well the ladies are going to love you."

Elijah hissed between clenched teeth as the gauze was removed, wincing in discomfort. "Don't get me wrong: that would be quite the comfort if I didn't have a hole in my stomach--" he paused to wince again, "...and require the help of one of those ladies to bathe. I'm sure every woman out there is dying to find themselves an invalid," he finished. Though slightly pained, his tone was every bit as light as hers. Two could play this game as far as he was concerned. "Is that why you got into medicine? To fulfill your Florence Nightingale fantasies?" he teased.

"He lied to me yesterday."

William frowned, beginning to reply, "Lied? About wh--" his mouth shut abruptly, followed by his eyes as he rubbed at his temples. "He knew about Ash, didn't he? Of course he did." Will sighed, opening his eyes. He moved to help Mackenzie gather up the pastries. "Not to take his side, but I'm sure there's a reason Ashley-May went to him first with this," he said calmly. "If she didn't want him telling anyone, he wouldn't unless he had to."

"Unfortunate...but not unexpected" Jordan said on the other end of the phone as he stood just a bit a ways from the outskirts of the Hunter's colony. "I must go now, my 'business meeting' is about to commence,"
he hung up the phone and looked at the none too inviting colony. "Honestly I'd rather just talk to a couple of hunters and work with them from the shadows but at some point I'd have to deal with this so called Council. I hate dealing with people who think they hold power...it's so..." Jordan's voice trailed off as his shadow gave way to his true form: Nine Tails flickering back and forth before fading back into the human part of the shadow "frustrating~"

Malcolm was certainly impressed by the fact that Chase was choosing to remain with the rest of the wolves to relax, he had almost been certain that the man would retreat back to the cabin and wait until he was summoned again. He nodded slowly as Chase assessed that he had been tested by the Alpha, while this may have been true so far as Malcolm knew it hadn't been Emile's original intent, but he wouldn't mention it.

He paused and watched Chase with interest as he spoke again of something he had told Emile earlier. "I'm sorry?" The man frowned, regarding Chase carefully. He had heard perfectly well what he had said but for a moment he thought the new pack member was lying. "How..." He was more than stunned at the revelation . "Emile knows?" Once more Malcolm didn't need an answer, it was more to himself than to Chase. Eventually he gave the man a brief smile. "Thank you, for letting me know." She had doomed herself to her own fate, there was nothing he nor her siblings to do now to help her.

He moved to sit in the grass next to the stream, stretching out his legs to his feet dangled just in the top of the water, feeling it flow by him. "Do you want to know what he's calling you?" Malcolm offered. He wasn't certain if Chase enjoyed the game with the Alpha or not, but at the least he would give him the option to know what Emile was calling him.

GxQZJgl.jpg

Ashley-May tisked at Elijah, bandage now free she discarded it in the bio-bin before turning a scathing look his way. "Yes, that's exactly it." She said blandly, "Just so I can fall madly in love with my patients. You better watch yourself, after all this care I don't think you would ever be able to get rid of me." She gave him a mocking wink before turning her attention back to the healing wound. It looked well enough for only a day after surgery: no signs of infection or swelling. She gently pressed a gloved hand around the wound, checking for any stiffness.

Finding none she took up the sterile wipes and carefully cleaned around the wound. "You really need to toughen up." She commented playfully, "I don't know how many woman would find a man crying over a scratch attractive."

dx0HE3H.jpg

Regardless of William's logic it would not appeal the fact that he hadn't told her there was something she should know. "I never asked him for specifics. I asked him if there was anything else I should be aware of." She collected plates and utensils, letting Will take the food itself. "He could have answered that but refrained from specifics. What if Ashley-May decided to not tell me? What if she decided to 'quit' hunting because she thought she would be better of raising it alone?" She watched Will carefully. "She's a target, while she carries, something supernatural creatures will want for themselves." She would omit the part about Heaven reigning justice down on them for later.

She inhaled deeply then slowly sighed. "I'm not going to kill him. Just make him ... uncomfortable."

"Well, no use griping about it.." Jordan walked straight into Hunter territory with absolutely no sign of hesitation or trepidation. He had no real plan except walk until he was accosted. If there were any wards that should have kept him out he could always lie and say that he got by them because he was clever, or because of the blessings of Inari...well, that second one wasn't so much a lie as it was an omission. "I wonder what their response time is going to be~" Though he was clearly expecting armed and hostile Hunters to come charging at him at any moment, his demeanor never changed from a nonchalant jaunt. With any luck this will be a quick little exchange of diplomacy, a nice little alliance to stop the Apocalypse and then I can leave...

"You better watch yourself, after all this care I don't think you would ever be able to get rid of me."

The teasing comment and the wink that came with it caused a warm spark deep in Elijah's chest -- a spark that he rapidly buried. He chalked it up to the afterglow of the painkillers in his system causing him to look too far into friendly banter. As Ashley-May began cleaning the wound, he clenched his jaw in an attempt to bear the procedure with some measure of dignity, despite her remark. "You think so? I like to think it makes me more approachable. In touch with my feelings and all that. Some women tend to be intimidated, you know," he said with grin. "Admittedly it hasn't worked on Nurse Sandy yet..."

upload_2017-6-12_21-16-6.jpeg
William frowned at Mac's determination to make Elijah suffer, even if just a little. He understood where she was coming from, of course -- Elijah had withheld information that could have ended up getting Ash hurt in the long run. That said, he couldn't fault the man for choosing not to break confidence with Ash. He was nothing if not loyal.

Regardless, he trusted Mac's restraint and hoped Ashley-May being there would be a calming influence on her. If not, well... it was likely to be a cathartic experience for everyone involved. "Fair enough," he said hesitantly, gathering a share of the pastries before making his way to the front door and carefully opening it before waiting for Mac. "At least he'll be well-fed before his punishment..." he muttered.

It was clear that the news wasn't something Malcolm wanted to hear. It was hard to guess what the older man was thinking as he took in the news before moving to sit. Chase chose to step into the stream, moving about knee deep before turning around and sinking down into the water so that he was sitting waist deep.

"I would actually, I've caught him saying a few different versions and what I assume was other names too." Chase huffed, allowing his hands to hover just above the waters surface as the water flowed by and against him. "There was one he literally told me to ask someone about." Chase cocked his head to the side for a moment in thought whilst trying to remember the exact words and pronunciations. "I considered not humoring him but it'll bother me to much if I don't. Something along the lines of muh pateet chwai?" He knew he'd butchered it and gave a chuckle, he gave an awkward apologetic smile for doing so.

Ashley-May covered the wound with a fresh bandage, keeping her features in check as Elijah mentioned Sandy, why it bothered her to hear he was interested in the nurse, she couldn't fathom. She soon replaced the gown, covering back up his decency before moving down the bed and pulling the blanket back to continue her examination of his wounds. The one on his calf was far less threatening than the previous, but there was a wonder if it would heal correctly. "Well if you like her that much, when you're finally out of this bed again I'm sure I could set you up on a date." She smiled, peeling back the bandages far less gently this time.

Mackenzie followed along behind Will, it was not lost that he did not approve her of her want to make his partner suffer even just slightly. Mac hadn't asked the man to turn over any dark secrets, but a forewarning that maybe she should keep an eye on her partner just a little more closely than usual would have been appreciated. She stepped out the front door and paused to wait for Will until they carried on towards the Clinic. "He'll live." She said simply, she didn't expect the man to apologize, nor did she have any intent on starting an argument with the man.

Malcolm paused as Chase repeated what Emile had called him, clearly in private. He coughed some, bringing a fist to his mouth to cover the smile that came to his lips, though it wouldn't do any good because it was soon followed by a chuckle. He had heard Emile call him Loup Perdu during their first meeting, and Morgan had witness the nearly the same Choit Perdu, but this was something else entirely.

"Oh." He stated, catching glances from a few others within the pack that had heard Chase's translation, Malcolm stared them down until they turned back to their own conversations before continuing. "Well, to put simply, it's a term of endearment. That. Uh, one wolf may call another... Of interest." Malcolm cleared his throat lightly, hoping this would be enough of an explanation, instead he would give him the other names. "Loup perdu, he's calling you a lost wolf, or choit means pup, directly. It's hard to explain in English, but it's like a pet name." He shrugged, finding it uncomfortable to have to explain their Alpha's flirtatious behavior.

Jordan was starting to get bored and a bit disheartened "No-one? I wasn't expecting the whole army but at the very least a scouting party...now I just feel like the girl that doesn't get asked to prom..." Jordan shook his head and considered his next move, obviously this did not change his plan one bit, it just meant he had to knock...and he really didn't like knocking ( Crono Crono how's that for an old callback~). "Front door it is~" Jordan almost disappeared from sight and ended up in front of the gates in no time at all he took a moment to brush the dirt and leaves from his jeans and his suit jacket. First impressions and all. "Anybody home? Yoo-hoo~"

Elijah hissed at the sensation of the bandages being removed. After the first spike of pain subsided, he processed Ashley-May's offer and hesitated for just a moment before nodding with a smile that ended up feeling a little more forced than expected. "Oh, so you want to play matchmaker for me like you did with Mac and William. I resent the notion that I can't do my own dating," he said jokingly. "Besides, you said it yourself. You're not even sure if she's into Hunters. Or men."

He glared down toward his calf. "Keep at it like that and you'll end up finishing what Pan started and this whole thing will be a moot point, Nurse Nightingale."

"He'll live."

That remains to be seen, William thought ruefully as he shot Mackenzie a sideways glance but remained silent as they headed towards the Clinic. "Why do you think she went to Elijah in the first place?" Will asked suddenly, surprising even himself. "I know they're friendly and all, but..." he shrugged. "I just wouldn't expect that from her."

Chase knew it was something stupid, this was confirmed by Malcolm attempting to prevent himself from showing his amusement. Chase finally dropped his hands into the water having no longer found the will to hold them up. Malcolm's brief description didn't help things, Endearment!? Chase felt his cheeks heat up slightly before he scowled and brought a hand up to rub at his eyes while Malcolm explained the other names, feeling rather uncomfortable with this current situation.

"It's all literally just to mock me, isn't it?" Even though he didn't honestly feel like that was Emile's intent Chase wasn't the biggest fan of the names. "You know, he laughed at me for mentioning pups last night and he goes on to use it in a nickname." Just because he didn't like the Lost Wolf nickname didn't mean he wasn't aware of the fact that it was probably how many of the pack members saw him. The temptation to yell or shift and chase after the Alpha to give him a piece of his mind was only stopped by the fact that he couldn't be sure how the other wolves would react and if he'd end up causing a conflict, especially with Brody around. You didn't cause a scene in enemy territory, that was another excuse he sold himself on it.

Instead he simply snorted and sat with his frustration, "I get that you didn't give the full translation for a reason.." Chase lifted a dripping hand out of the stream and was waving for Malcolm to say it, "But if I'm going to yell at him about it I'd rather know it so that I don't end up looking like a fool twice. So just lay it on me Malcolm."

"Oh and give me the translation for big buffoon while your at it, I can play this game too." There were much more vulgar terms he'd thought of but those could be said in English, he wanted a simple nickname that he could use frequently.

Eddie slumped down in his seat and sighed. "Well then, if you're a god.... what else is real that no one knows about? Besides you, the person you're looking for, and teleporting cars." He hoped he wasn't annoying them, but his world was so shaken by this interaction he couldn't stop himself from asking if he wanted to. "Hey! And why are you a secret?? Why not announce to humanity that you're a god and have people do stuff for you?"
