"...As a full Council we will vote to whether she is permitted to remain in Vitae as a hunter with freedom, if she to remain in Vitae as a prisoner of war, or to be dispatched. We have provided enough reasons to vote for the latter, we ask if anyone has any arguments to change the will of Council.”

Will froze, glaring at the Councilman. His muscles tensed, fists clenching involuntarily. He could see the look of shock registering with Brendan -- it was apparent the man hadn't expected this anymore than he had. But while Brendan's expression was one of surprise, William simply felt the anger boil up inside of him. No matter what they decided, he would never willingly let the Council claim Mac's freedom, much less her life. He would fight his way through every Hunter in the Colony if that's what was called for, starting with the men and women sitting inside this tent.

Brendan thankfully spoke first, depriving Will of the chance to lash out. Despite his anger, he couldn't help but be surprised at the conversation that followed. Mackenzie -- under Franklin's influence -- had helped trap Jack's son... the animosity, the cool distance, it made more sense now. In truth, Will was surprised Brendan had taken her presence as well as he had, all things considered.

“Councilmen Hendrix, is this true? Did she manage to enlist the help of the Nest with no terms of repayment?”

William nodded without hesitation as the conversation turned to him. "Yes. DeBois' initial terms were too steep; I refused him. Mackenzie's -- Skye's -- appeal convinced him to lend us aid regardless. Were it not for her, Vitae would still find itself without allies against the Pack. We are not suggesting that we trust the Den Master or his associates or that we welcome them into Vitae with open arms. We need to remain as vigilant as ever... but make no mistake, without their assistance our chances against the united Packs are slim."

The sudden sideswipe by Morgan had Chase reeling for just a moment before bringing his own head low and into an attempted playful growl. He understood on some level that this was normal and meant as fun, and while he tried to react accordingly his movements were a little unsure of what was acceptable and too far. The female Wolf merely bolted afterwards leaving Chase to resume his relaxed posture. Looking back to where Emile had been he realized awkwardly that the Alpha had already moved on and Malcolm was by the treeline waiting. Chase moved with a quick pace to catch up to the Beta's position, and kept trailing behind the scent of Emile until he was back in his original place at keeping nearby the Alpha.

Though as he moved along behind Emile his senses were aware of the other wolves moving through the forest and his attention was on their own positions. Chase could hear them, smell them, and spot some throughout the brush. This wasn't like the last two times he'd known they were around, not only was this a greater number of the group but for once Chase wasn't the one they were focused on.

Sandy nodded slowly, noting the man had come a long distance, and was curious if the Men of Letters were a relatively new organization, since the man seemed to know the original chapter was founded by his ancestor. He continued on to speak about a book and asked then. “The book you need to speak to the Council about? The one the Demons are hunting you for?” She was curious about the strange hunter and his organization; he was certainly not like the other hunters she had met, not even her own parents. “Do you think they can help you? The Council?” She was taking his tray, seeing as the mad had stopped eating and stacking it on her own readying to discard it so they could leave for the Council.

The Council spoke at once then, after William’s reply, until the Elder silenced them. “Councilmen Spatafora, please speak.” The woman how had been arguing with Brendan earlier nodded, turning to glance towards the only two Councilmen that seemed to be defending Mac at this point. “How do you know she is trustworthy? That she hadn’t come here to the benefit of the Pack or the Nest or both to infiltrate and set us up for failure. DeBois agreement is too easy, and while you say he will not be trusted, why do you trust her?” Several other Councilmen were nodding in agreement to the question, but none spoke further.

Brendan knew that this would come up; he had been prepared for it and was thankful he had spoken to William previously. “Do you doubt the authenticity of Ashley-May? She works in your Clinic; very hard. She has already helped you recover processes with the knowledge she has brought and streamlined most of the areas that you and your team have been weak in. She arrived with Mackenzie, and if we exile or imprison Mackenzie I honestly doubt Ashley-May would stand by and help us further.” He paused, knowing how much the Council like William; this might be what won them over. “And what of Councilmen Hendrix?” Several of the Councilmen frowned, glancing to Will. “Mackenzie is his chosen aide, who has already proven useful in the position, but do you think he would stand by and simply let her be torn apart by you? I am not willing to lose a Medic, a Councilman, the man that had sacrificed himself to save the colony, and a hunter that has killed more pack members than this colony combined and the assumption she is working with the Nest. You have no proof.”

“And you have none that she hasn’t fooled them either.”

Brendan growled under his breath, not wanting to have used his final card. “Fine, then would you doubt the trust of the divine? Dayne has been catatonic for days now, hasn’t spoken a word since shortly after arriving here; the Oracle that assisted in New York, the same one that foretold of Pan and the one that still assists us today is Mackenzie. I do not doubt that Hypnos would not have failed in choosing his Oracle: if the god trusted her, then so can we. Not to mention imprisoning or murdering her would likely bring down his wrath; we’ve already seen what he and his brother are capable of.”

Once more the Council was speaking to each other and at Brendan and Will alike but Brendan wouldn’t answer, and he hoped Will would do the same, let them chew on their questions. The Elder, for the third time that morning, silenced the table. “That’s enough, we will commence the vote; we will not risk a ballot, if you will condemn the woman to death or confinement you will do so opening in front of your peers. All those in favor of executing Skye Mackenzie Cannonach raise your hand.” There was a pause as the Council glanced at each other, eventually one raised their hand, followed by several others. The Elder waited a moment before speaking again, almost half the Council had voted for, only shy of two votes. “Motion denied, unanimous vote required. Those in favor of imprisoning Skye until her true nature could be determined.” Once more the Council voted, though this time more swiftly. More than half raised their hands. The Elder once more waited before speaking. “Motion denied, unanimous vote required. Those in favor of retaining Skye’s services on the Council.” This time only Brendan William and the two others; Jon Diffey and Angela Spatafora, did not vote. “Motion denied, unanimous vote required.”

The Elder remained standing regarding the Council rather disgusted, he had not voted as was procedure, he simply overseen the meetings and votes, but he spoke. “As that it has been decided today, this topic, this issue, will not be raised again. Skye Mackenzie Cannonach is a member of Vitae, welcome to come and go as she pleases and her trustworthiness will not be questioned again without due course.” He paused then, “I believe Councilmen Spatafora has business to attend to with one of her Nurse’s, Councilmen Jack can assist her, the rest are dismissed.”

Chase’s playful albeit cautious growl was heard by both Emile and Malcolm. Emile had not waited for Chase at the edge of the woods knowing that Malcolm would make sure the newest member wouldn’t get waylaid for long; Emile doubted Chase could really get lost during this hunt; it would be hard to lose nearly forty wolves in the woods. While most were not there to participate, really only the core ten were actually hunting, the remainder were there for the pleasure of it, being close to the hunt was nearly as good as being part of it.

Emile was interested to see how Chase would react to what his role was in the Hunt, most of the newer members shied away from the Alpha’s hunting position opting for a scouting roll, or even that of a runner. Chase was a far cry smaller than himself, but he was old enough to know that size didn’t matter when it came to hunting in a pack. They followed along the trail, towards the hunting grounds and the pack would soon start to peel away, those extra members falling by the wayside to witness the hunt, or simply wandering off to where the hunters would end up afterwards. Soon Emile caught the scent of the herd they were following, three females and a buck, more than enough for their feast.

Without a second glance Emile quickened his pace, taking a long curved route around where he had scented the herd, the other wolves moving in their own positions. He lead Chase through the woods a fair distance before slowly down, becoming nearly silent as he padded through the dense woods. They were ahead of the herd now, ahead of the four deer they hunted. Though Emile could not see them himself he knew from the other members where they were, still grazing lazily. As he came closer to the ideal place, a shallow gully at the bottom of a small slope he hunkered down, his mass slinking beneath the underbrush. He glanced to Chase and waited to see if the wolf would follow to where he was, or find somewhere else to hide.

William had watched Brendan's heated defense of Mackenzie with no small measure of surprise; it was a stark contrast to the man's demeanor just days prior. Still, there were more pressing issues at hand. When the time for the vote came, Will predictably kept his hand lowered for the first two motions... though he leveled his glare squarely at those that did not, committing each name and face to memory. When the time for the third vote came, Will raised his hand without hesitation. Regardless of the result of the third motion, it mattered little. Mac would probably welcome less bureaucratic bullshit in her life, Will mused. Besides, he knew that he had her unconditional support regardless of whether she currently held an official title in Vitae's Council or not.

Will stood from the seat as the Council was dismissed, waiting for the nearby Councillors filtered out of the tent before approaching Brendan, stepping close and offering his hand to the man. "I won't forget this... and I'm sure Mac won't either, even if she doesn't show it," he said with a slight smirk. Not wanting to hold up his business any further, William turned on his heel and marched from the tent, heading back toward the house.

Brendan nodded to Will’s thanks, “I understand.” He did not expect Mackenzie to ever acknowledge his work to keep her a resident and welcome within Vitae, really it had been done to appease Will. He could see the merit in Will’s work, the passion he put behind it and his work ethics, even in the short time he had been part of the colony, he and his partner had done nothing but given Vitae their all.

There were few times in Mackenzie’s life where she felt fear, true unadulterated terror. She could probably count them on one hand: facing her mother, watching Douglas be turned, watching Will turn his gun on himself and today. Ashley-May prattled on about how she had been worried about Mac’s reaction and that she confessed to having told Elijah first. While Mackenzie was distracted to the point of hardly hearing her partner, the fact that Eli had lied to her was not missed; it was simply not the top of her list of concerns for the moment.

She had some books from Borseti, with legends and tales of creatures of myth she had never seen, never hear another hunter utter and Nephilim was among them. The tale she had read had been recounted through Borseti for centuries before written and rewritten in the old books, but she remembered it clearly. It spoke of a hunter and an angel falling in love, siring a child and the wrath of Heaven. An angel named Gaveel had come to the couple and offered them peace: if they gave over to Heaven willingly then the hunter and the Nephilim would have a place of eternal peace in Heaven. The angel submitted, however the hunter refused and ran. She found help among a coven of witches that managed to keep her hidden or a time, but eventually Heaven found them and brought down their wrath upon the entire coven: none survived.

She didn’t know of any witches spells, or witches for that matter, to help hide Ashley-May until she could figure out what to do, but she did have the wards, the very rune Hypnos was forbade her from using again. She knew what she needed to do, but she couldn’t do it alone. After a while she smiled to Ashley-May. “How about you go keep Eli company? While I make breakfast. I promise to bring pastries.” She could see Ash’s expression, the woman knew her well enough to know she was hiding something, and was thankful that Ash didn’t pry.

She watched her partner head off to the Clinic to do as she asked, waiting until she saw Ashley step inside the clinics doors before she collected what she needed from the back of her car and tossed it on the passenger seat for later use. She headed back into the house and did exactly what she promised Ashley: make breakfast.

William caught a glimpse of Ashley-May as he neared the house and prepared to call out to her, stopping himself when he saw that she was heading to the Clinic. Visiting Elijah, no doubt. With the tension between Davenport and Will & Mac, Hendrix hoped that Eli could at least relax around Ashley-May... assuming he hadn't done something to piss her off, too. With a shake of his head, Will continued to the house. The Beast caught his eye as he approached. Mac was nowhere to be seen and after stepping closer he could see why: the machine was back to its full form for the first time since he'd seen it streak past him and Elijah -- Radar Love blasting all the while -- on its way to Alliance days earlier. Will hadn't known then how important that car and its occupants would become to him. Running his hand along the hood, William smiled ruefully before stepping up onto the porch and heading through the front door.

"Mac?" he called out as he entered. "I have good news and bad news."

GxQZJgl.jpg

Ashley-May had taken the short walk from the house to the Clinic slowly, trying to puzzle out what exactly Mac had been thinking about, obviously it was about her pregnancy, but she knew something was worrying her partner. She waved good morning to the nurses at the front desk/nursing station before slipping in the back towards Elijah's room. She paused outside his door and listened, attempting to determine if the man was still asleep but she couldn't hear anything to prove either way. She gently knocked on the door, "Eli?"

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie had managed to roll out, fold and put the dough for the pastries into the oven as she heard the front door opening. There was a moment she thought Ashley had come back to talk more, or try and get out of her what she had been thinking but she soon her Will calling her. She frowned slightly, not sure how that meeting could have both good and bad news given it was about her remaining in Vitae. "Did they elect me their queen?" She called back, laughing as she continued to prepare breakfast for the four of them.

Thor smiled at the man's suprise and took a seat in car, it was always the same thing. It was a shame though that most humans that knew of him before they met and what he really was were suspicious of him, turning to Christopher he said "So... What's the plan when we reach New Jersey? How do you suggest that we find our missing godess?"

He said that without a trace of irony in his voice, he simply wasn't good at tracking down something missing, which was why he had brought along hunters. He wouldn't even mind if someone would come after them, for the sole reason that he wouldn't have been wasted on this mission.

Solomon took the time that Sandy gave him by taking his tray to think on her question. When she got back he had an answer prepared. " I think the Council is the best prepared to help never find it. Mostly because I believe it is in America and as such I wanted to bring your people into the search, and since I've come here I think the Colony is better qualified than any given your relationship with the gods."

Elijah, hearing the knock at his door, rapidly began pulling his gown back on. He had steadfastly refused the offer of the nurses to help him bathe, instead insisting on wiping himself down with the sanitary wipes they had fetched for him. After achieving some amount of modesty, he called out, "Come in."

William smiled at Mackenzie's remark as he moved into the kitchen, where she was at work at the counter. He stepped slowly behind her, slipping his arms gently around her midsection and resting his chin atop her head before loosening his hold so as to not prevent her from working. "Afraid not," he said quietly. On the walk to the house, he had wrestled with the decision to tell Mac about the truth of the vote regarding her fate. He didn't want to worry her, but she had a right to know what the Council had discussed... and to know which Councillors to be wary of in the future.

"The vote... Brendan was wrong. Exile was never on the table," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Certain members of the Council thought you might be a double agent for Franklin. There were two motions... one to take you prisoner." He paused, swallowing hard before continuing. His voice was audibly pained as he added, "...the other for your execution. The good news is that both failed."

Ginny whimpers softly in her sleep, twitching slightly. While normally she's in control of her dreams, this time is different. This time, she's surrounded by hunters, and she can't stop thinking about their colleagues when they slaughtered her family.

So here she is, trapped in the body of a child, going through the same motions as every time she has this nightmare.

Shafaqat wakes up, hearing her family in a panic, and a pounding on the door. Her father runs to her, and thrusts a bag into her arms, putting her shoes on as she's still waking. "There's no time to explain, my little one, I need you to run. Use the back door, run for the forest."

She looks up at him, desperately afraid. "Papa? What's going on? I don't understand!"

The man hisses, frightened. "Just go, we'll catch up!"

"Promise?"

"GO!"

At the force in his voice, the girl turns, and flees the building, tears of fear streaming down her face.

The moment he caught the scent of what they were hunting Chase noticed the rest of those nearby leave, and Emile picked up the pace. With a snort and lurched forwards as he pushed to keep up with the Alpha. The larger wolf's path was very out of the way and it was clear they were positioning on the opposite end of the prey. Chase stayed hot on the Alpha's heels as they maneuvered through the area, instinctively keeping himself aware of his surroundings.

It was an odd sensation running with other wolves, especially when there was no mal intent involved. Knowing the pack was out there each doing their own thing whether it was just watching or taking positions was oddly refreshing even if it was a simple hunt there was something about knowing you had a sense of over-watch in the area, even if they were Werewolves.

Their pace slowed once at the bottom of a small slope and Chase watched Emile slink into the underbrush, and he spotted the other wolf's eyes watching him intently. He guessed the dark wolf was watching to see exactly what Chase was going to do. The lighter wolf would do the same, though he'd take up his own position a few feet to Emile's left. Chase was meant to stay near Emile and he wasn't meant to do anything so he assumed they would be watching, possibly helping herd the group of deer if they were to run too far. He listened carefully, more towards Emile so if he decided to react or leave Chase would know immediately and follow.

Hypnos had been watching the Djinn for a while within the Colony and had waited for an opportunity to speak with her. Luckily for the god she had decided to take a nap. This way he could enter into her mind and influence her dream. Well more accurately it was a nightmare but the point remained. now the issue was what to do with it? Should he change the dream to bring her peace and reinforce her trust in humans? Or should he just watch? The deity decided to just watch her dream for now. Allowing the dream to take the form the Djinn's mind wanted it to.

Christopher could see the worry and confusion on Eddie's face but he knew it would take time figuring it all out, it was like this for all humans newly exposed to the supernatural of their own world. "Well Eddie, we don't mind getting you to the city, after that .. well it might not be safe following us around." He frowned slightly as they started back towards the city, he glanced to Thor. "That's why you were here, or so I thought, I figured we were just there for back up, should you need to deal with humans." He turned his attention back to the road, "I guess of forgot my god detector ring back at base." he said rather sarcastically.

iryB73Q.jpg

Sandy rolled her eyes at the mere mention of Vitae and gods. "Please." She said, rising from the table, trays in hand. "Don't remind me." She stepped away for a minute to discard the tray and return the dishes to the kitchen before returning to the table. "Angela texted me, said the council is waiting to see you." She smile, slipping her phone back into her pocket and stepping behind the wheel chair once more. She unlocked the wheels before rolling Solomon away from the table and back towards the doorway they had come from. "I really hope they can help you, Mr. David."

GxQZJgl.jpg

Ashley-May frowned hearing Elijah's rather nervous sounding voice, he gave the all clear but she still opened the door slowly seeing him figit with his gown. It wasn't hard to miss what he had been attempting to do and she frown, crossing her arms over her chest. "Seriously, Eli?" She was not about to let him get away with this, instead she stepped away from the door and heading down into the back, leaving the door wide open. She returned a few moments later with a small basin of warm soapy water and a cloth. "I'm not the nurses, and you can't send me away." She set the supplied on the table beside him before closing the door. "You have two options. Let me do this without a fight and keep your dignity. Or fight me and never live it down when you lose."

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie gave a false pout as she heard Will's negative reply. She leaned back against him, pausing in her work to enjoy the simple gesture of his gentle embrace. One released she was returning to her work, finishing off the last part of their breakfast and setting it in the oven with her pastries. She frowned slightly seeing William's hesitation and there was a moment she honestly believed she had been exiled, that no matter what Will and Brendan had said they wanted her gone.

She had not been prepared for what he said next. "They what?" She had heard him, she understood the words he had said but not the context of them. "They were voting on whether I live? They were going to try and kill me?" There wouldn't be any way she could be taken down without first taking a good chunk of the Vitae wither, the Pack and tried and failed for years, even Franklin had lost dozens of his Nest breaking her. There wouldn't be a chance the Council of Vitae would be her end.

M9vyuPi.jpg

Emile was impressed Chase followed suite, though he idly wondered at if the other wolf wasn't aware of that this position entailed. He would soon enough learn, already the wolves were working their way behind the grazing deer, a baying howl in the distance was the only indicator that the hunt was on. The pack edged closer to the deer as they fled from where they had been grazing towards Emile and Chase, the wolves easily herding the buck and does to where they wanted. As they drew closer the other wolves in much the same position and Emile and Chase where, sprung out of their places of hiding, jaws snapping and clamping on to the does throats and dragging them to the ground whilst the others caught up and assisted in the kill.

One by one the wolves took down the does until the Buck was the only remaining. Emile listened, carefully, to the bucks hooves pounding through the dirt and as the buck crested the stop of the slope he lunged upwards. Using the same technique the other wolves had he clamped his powerful jaws about the throat of the buck and dragged him downwards. The buck struggled, nearly twice the weight of Emile, the wolf was dragged a few meters as the buck attempted to escape, Emile's paws digging into the soft ground searching for purchase.

Elijah had been confused when he saw Ashley-May step out of the room as soon as she had entered, clearly annoyed. When she returned with the filled basin, her intent was all too clear. As she stepped forward and gave her ultimatum, he fixed her with a defiant glare. As the moments ticked silently by, the facade soon cracked into one akin to that of a scolded child. "Fine," he said quietly. "Though I'm not sure how much 'dignity' there is in this option," he muttered, eyes flicking toward the door behind Ashley-May's shoulder before resigning himself to his fate.

Fidgeting with the hem of his blanket, he cleared his throat nervously, a slight flush coming to his cheeks. "So, uh, how--" he asked, his voice trailing off.

upload_2017-6-11_20-30-10.jpeg
Will gave Mackenzie a moment after her outburst, one that was entirely justified in his mind. "Yes," he answered calmly. "It wasn't the entire Council... but it was enough that you need to be careful over the next few days." His arms subconsciously tightened their hold around her waist, as if his grip alone could shield her from the whims of the Council that would have sentenced her to death. "The only reason I'm not standing here covered in their blood is the vote failed," he said, his tone making it clear that he was hardly joking. He left the last part unspoken: But damn if I wasn't tempted anyway.

Shafaqat continues to run, till she's hidden far enough away. She's sobbing, hearing gunshots from the old building. She stays there for a long time, shivering and terrified, until she sees the hunters leave the building, and gasps, seeing smoke drifting from the holes in the roof.

Thankfully they don't see her as she starts running back, driving off as she screams for her family.

GxQZJgl.jpg

Ashley-May did her best to hid her smirk when she witnessed Elijah's defeated look, she stepped back to close the door behind her to give him just a little bit more privacy. "It's pretty simple." She said, and knowing his wounds meant she knew exactly how he could and couldn't move. She was reaching beneath his bed and taking out two additional sheets and another gown. She shook out the gown and helped him facing him with the ties in the back before moving around the bed and slipping the other on like a robe. A blanket was partially unfolded and laid across his lap, this way she could help get cleaned up without him feeling totally exposed.

The spread the second blanket out atop the first, cover the rest of his legs and part of the bed. "I'll leave what you can do for yourself." She said, dipping a cloth into the lukewarm water and ringing it out before handing it to Eli. She'd take up the second and do the same before she moved up the side of his bed and lifted the gown on his back enough she could wipe down his back.

dx0HE3H.jpg

"The only reason I'm not standing here covered in their blood is the vote failed,"

That one sentence worried her beyond everything else that had occurred. She knew he meant every word of it, that he would go to any lengths for her, as she would for him, but she knew too well Will wasn't the dark thing that she was. He held her tight and she leaned against him, closing her eyes. Brendan had been wrong, he hadn't known that this would have been the vote, what they had wanted, what else did he not know?

"Will Ashley and Eli be safe?" She was not worried about herself or William, she doubted greatly the Council would try anything against their own, and it would take more than a few hunters to catch her unawares now she knew they were gunning for her. But they had to considered Ashley and Eli's current conditions, though Will didn't know about Ashley, yet, she knew the topic wouldn't be hidden from him for long. "She we be looking for alternatives to Vitae?" She couldn't think of anything off hand, but she knew she could come up with something in a pinch.

Elijah took the offered rag with a thankful nod. He wondered if it was simple practicality on her part or if Ashley-May knew that allowing himself to be of some use in this situation would ease his embarrassment or at the very least distract him. Pushing the thoughts away, he proceeded to carefully wipe at the skin of his neck and the front of his upper torso. Elijah knew better than to try and stretch downward to reach other parts of his body -- a painful lesson he had learned during his first impromptu self-bathing session yesterday. Even so, he was forced to make slow, measured movements in order to avoid aggravating his injury.

None of this was helped by Ashley-May's proximity as she dabbed at his back. The flush in his face hadn't disappeared. Elijah didn't consider himself particularly self-conscious or prone to embarrassment about something as trivial as nudity... but having an admittedly attractive woman inches away literally bathing him when he was already in a vulnerable state was hardly a conventional situation. After all, they had only known each other for a few days, even if he did consider her a friend. So, in a desperate attempt to break the silence, he blurted out the first humorous deflection that came to mind: "You do this for all of your patients, doctor?" he asked. Almost immediately he winced, thankful that his back was turned to Ash.

upload_2017-6-11_21-8-10.jpeg
"I think Ash and Elijah are fine," Will said with some small measure of relief. "Even they seemed genuinely thankful for Ashley-May's help at the Clinic and what Elijah did during the Trial. They think they're 'misguided', not traitors," he finished with an air of distaste. "Still, it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on them. I'm hoping Adelaide will be able to warn us if someone inside Vitae gets any ideas... about any of us," he added, his concern about mentioning his ex in front of Mac forgotten for the moment -- it was hardly his highest concern.

"As for alternatives... maybe. I don't want to give up on this place just yet, but I'd never object to having a backup plan."

penny-dreadful-jekyll_0.jpg

Solomon smiled as they left the Mess area for what he assumed was the direction of the Council. " I'm sure they'll be able to help with a little at least. The more eyes we have out looking for it the better." Solomon said as he was wheeled towards the command tent. " And please, call me Solomon. I think it's about time we skip the formality. After all we're all fighting for our lives out here." Solomon said tilting his head to the side so he could look to Sandy as he said that. He was over the first hurdle of getting in contact, but now he needed to not only convince them if who he was, but that his mission was worth investing in.

Hypnos watched the nightmare with minimal interest, but decided to start playing with the young Djinn's dream. Hypnos used his power to distort the dream slightly. As the girl ran she would hear from behind her a man calling to his comrades that he saw the girl fleeing and to ensnare her in a trap. After that she would here multiple footsteps as the men began to gain on her and slowly surround her.

Ashley-May laughed hearing Elijah's awkward almost flirtatious statement: she would have considered it flirtatious if it had come from anyone but Elijah. "Only those that risk injury or infection to avoid embarrassment." He would not be wrong in assuming she had given him his own cloth for the simple easy of mind it could bring; a trick learnt in NYC years ago with temperamental patients, though those had not been friends but virtual strangers. She continued to work at drawing the cloth over his upper and lower back, attempting to do her best not to linger to keep him from being embarrassed or felt 'pawed' at, though it wasn't a knack she had picked up well.

"I told Mac." She said, hoping to bring distraction to him and ease his mind as she continued to work, gown replaced she was moving onward to his legs, only uncovering the part of his body she was intent on cleaning, leaving the rest of him covered. "She took it pretty well, kinda surprisingly well, actually."

Mackenzie nodded some hearing at least the Council seemed taken with Ash and Eli but Mac wouldn't put it past them to anyone to get to her, to make her complacent. It certainly would work. He brought up his ex once more, glad Will would soon find an able bodied ally within Vitae, one that didn't have the mar her name carried; she had only wished it wasn't a previous lover. She made no comment about Adelaide assisting or not, not trusting her voice to be even or pleasant when speaking about his ex.

"I'll come up with something." It would not be simple, she knew that for sure; taking off with just herself would have been easy. Ash made things more complicated but adding Will and an injured Elijah was next to impossible. She had connections, the very same underground that brought her through the borders here, but whether she could contact them in time was another issue. The buzzer from the over drew her from her thoughts, and she gave Will a final squeeze before finding the over mitts and retrieving their breakfast: crust-less quiche and fresh baked croissants.

Sandy smiled and nodded. "Alright, I can do that." She said as Solomon asked her to call him by his name, far less formal. Typically she wouldn't do that sort of thing with a patient, keeping the formal appellation of their name was only professional after all, but taking a patient to breakfast and setting up an appointment, well she supposed she fell off of formal several hours ago. She brought him to the Command tent and wheeled him inside, pausing in the front entry as Councilmen Jack's aides were waiting. "Good morning," She said, as cheerily as ever, but was met with cold stares. She cleared her throat and continued. "Councilmen Spatafora has granted Mr. David a meeting, she said to come here now." Once more the two aides watched her coldly before Anna nodded towards the back. "Go ahead."

The little girl shrieks, and turns to try and get away, sobbing in fear. She's heard stories about hunters, and what they do to people like her, even to children. She starts screaming in terrified Arabic, trying to tell them not to hurt her, that she never hurt anyone.

"I told Mac."

Elijah stopped his movements, tense as he waited for the next part of Ashley-May's statement. As he heard it, he nearly blew out a sigh of relief. He hadn't been totally sure how Mackenzie would take it, but he had to admit that total acceptance wasn't at the top of the list. "Glad to hear it," he said genuinely, hoping to focus on the conversation rather than the situation at hand. Elijah didn't relish having to bring up the next part. "And the part about Alaric? How did she react to that?" he asked cautiously.

William nodded his understanding and reluctantly released Mackenzie, stepping back to lean against the counter. "There's more," he said with a sigh. "Brendan... he fought like hell for you. For both of us. It surprised me, actually. I think he may have burned a few bridges with the other Council members on our account." Will smiled. "Don't you worry, I doubt he's expecting a fruit basket."

"Oh!" Will announced. "I almost forgot the bad news," he said with a mock graveness. "The Council voted to keep you on. So, Miss Deputy, you won't be getting rid of me just yet. If everything goes well, you have plenty more boring meetings to look forward to in your future," he remarked with a grin, hoping to lighten Mac's mood.

The reception Solomon received at the command tent was about what he had expected. After all some stranger just waltzed in and demanded to speak to someone in charge. Not to mention Solomon wasn't in his normal state, even being reduced to being bound to a wheelchair, so it was no doubt that he was going to be looked down upon. Well there wasn't much he could do about it at this point but talk with them and make him see his way. Solomon nodded to Sandy to press forward into the tent.

The Men would simply use her screams as a means to locate her. Slowly and cautiously they approached the young Djinn. One of the men tells the others to be careful and they all ready their knives. All except for one tries to defuse the situation. Trying to keep the other Hunters from attacking her. After all she was just a kid, she couldn't have hurt anyone yet. The others hunters begin arguing with the man.

They're right, she is just a kid. With no advanced senses, abilities, and no venom. She manages a couple things they'll be able to understand. Mama, papa, and a few names, presumably those of her siblings. Her bright blue eyes are watching all of them, trying to find a way out.
