Solomon couldn't help but smile as the gleeful squeal echoed through the building. It was nice to know that it wasn't just his day that was going well. Looking over to the nurse Solomon said, " I'd like it if you could bring me my knife and ring, but as I'm sure my having a knife might complicate things just my ring and something to write with?" Solomon asked as he situated himself in his bed. His body still ached all over from overuse, but it wasn't anything a good night's rest couldn't cure. " Also if you could pass along to someone with leadership that I need to speak with him I would be very grateful." NanLia
Currently Joe wasn't allowed to leave, likely because Ashley might try to prevent him until he was back to 100% and Chase had taken the vehicle so he'd be walking and Joe was no fool. So he'd make the best of it. So while the blonde and angel went tot he back he decided to make himself comfortable, and Ashley had been right..these chairs were the superior chairs. Resting his head back Joe took a look around the room as someone called from the back area causing a rather dreary and quiet room to become one with smiles and hope. Joe was glad to see a win, with what had been going on lately at the colony the morale could probably use it.
Chase Keaton
Chase left Vitae, unknown to him was the fact that he'd passed a family of Werewolves on the way out, and maybe if he'd had the window down he would have caught a whiff but the windows were up and the AC was blasting because Chase was readying to hunt and his body was giving off heat from the lust to feed.
Once far enough down the road Chase veered off into the less dense forested part of the nearby forest. It was the opposite direction from Vitae than when he and Joe had the run-in with the wolves last time. The last thing he needed was having that happen while he was caught with his pants down alone and in the open. He'd be hunting and feeding and therefore distracted, especially after waiting so long.
Stepping out of the Toyota and onto the grassy area, having parked in some trees Chase let out an excited huff whilst stripping. For a moment things were quiet and he was alone, something that hadn't been possible lately since coming to the colony. He hadn't realized that he was missing such things until now as he prepared. Nose already sniffing the air in hopes of catching the scent of maybe a deer. Animal hearts weren't tasty by any means, but they did the job of sating his hunger. Didn't mean he didn't have a particular liking towards certain animals than others. After shifting the Wolf bolted into the forest, heading for the thicker underbrush.
William was practically sprinting forward before he even realized it. He finally released his grip on Mackenzie's hand -- more out of concern for not bowling her over than impatience. Passing through the doors to the recovery ward, his eyes moved between Ashley and the head nurse before settling on the room behind them. Without hesitation, he walked inside to lay his eyes on his best friend, laying in a bed and hooked up to a multitude of monitoring machines. His eyes opened weakly, settling on Will as he stood in the doorway. Slowly, a smile formed. "Hey, Sarge. If you came to patch me up, I'm afraid someone beat you to it this time," he remarked.
William grinned, approaching the side of the bed. Elijah attempted to raise his arm, managing to only lift it a few inches from the bed and form a fist. Will made one of his own, bumping it. "How're you feeling?" he asked.
"Fine. Just enjoying Vitae's... hospitality," he said, his voice trailing off. "They're... good people."
"Good drugs, you mean," Will remarked with a smirk. Elijah gave his best attempt at a noncommittal shrug. Will scrutinized him clinically. He couldn't help it. His friend's skin was pale, drained of pallor. Several bandages were visible. He was receiving a blood transfusion even now. His eyes flicked toward the EKG, watching the readout.
"You're not as subtle as you think you are," Eli said suddenly, catching Hendrix's full attention. "I said I'm fine. The Trial's over, I take it?" Elijah asked.
"It is. Pan's left... for now. Vitae is safe for the time being, thanks to you. Mackenzie and Ashley-May stabilized you at the gates and the clinic staff did the rest. There's a few other things to discuss... but that can come later. For now there's a couple of other people who want to see you, then you should really get some rest," Will said, his smile returning as he began to take a step back from the bed before pausing. "I'm glad you're all right. I need you to have my back out there."
Davenport managed a meager smile of his own. "Always. And I thought..." he said, struggling momentarily to maintain his voice. "...we agreed none of this sappy talk?"
Will nodded. "Yeah, we're both shit at it," he replied with a chuckle. "One sec." Hendrix made his way to the doorway, peeking out to wave Ashley and Mac inside. As he did so, Elijah gathered his strength to call out again, "Is Feathers out there? Tell him to get in here and get on with the 'laying on of hands'!"
Daniel nodded at what Bart was saying and he turns to the kids saying "Let me go park the car by the barracks over there and I'll meet you here", Before he could turn around Daniella grabbed onto his arm and says "Let me come with you". He looked up at Jackson and he nods at her request and he sighs "Yes come on". We were walking down the block to go get our car and she says "Why are we here dad". The one question I didn't want her to answer, if he told her that it was the best option and he can't protect them anymore than I would be a lie. "I wanna know, you can always tell Jack stuff but not me, so I'm going to ask again. Why are we here". He looked up at her and says "We can't keep doing this, living in hotels, eating take out everyday fake credit cards, we need to settle down Daniella, and plus I won't be around forever and I don't want you to be out on your own that's why I answered to the call". She went silent and she was like the whole way driving back to a parking spot.
While Daniella and his dad went out to go grab the car and he was standing here with Larissa and he saw that she couldn't fully trust him yet, but it's good to have a friend around here at Vitae, since they really didn't have friends because they were mostly going on hunting trips to help out people with his family and that's what it takes to protect his family than he stopped the social life. He saw Bart walking past and ran up to him and says "I have a question, how do you know my father so well?"
Solomon smiled as he put on his ring and sheathed his knife asthe nurse left him to rest. He figured a good nap would do him some good before proceeding forward with anything else. However it seemed like it wasn't in his fate to rest as just a few moments after the nurse left him some girl, a young woman really, came storming into his curtained off area asking about Pan.
Solomon looked at her as if she was crazy. Perhaps he could play it off, but then again how did she know about Pan? " How about we start with our names first huh? My name is Solomon David, what is yours?" Solomon asked looking the woman over and noticing her.., rather strange aura. " Or rather... what are you? Demigod? Pagan? Angel?" That's when Solomon noticed the scrawling on her arm, " I see your enochian isn't the best. Your syntax is way off. You can't just string words together like that." Solomon said as he began lecturing her at this point. NanLia
It hadn't taken long at all for the wolf to find himself deep in the wooded area, having sprinted without purpose for a time. There were other ways to get animal hearts, but it wasn't the same as hunting his own. Chase would never admit to Joe just how much he enjoyed these times where he'd get lost in some wooded area whilst looking for prey, there was some sort of clarity that came with it. He himself had come to the conclusion that it was something to do with how Werewolves ticked, sating that bloodlust itch was one thing but the moments leading to it were different. He always felt there was always irony in his name being Chase, because he enjoyed the chase. That final moment when both predator and prey become known to each other and the adrenaline starts flowing.
The wolf's senses flared the moment he caught the scent trail of what he'd describe as a sheep, but not exactly. Instead of his brain trying to think on Nebraska's possible wildlife Chase followed after the scent with newfound interest. Trudging along the forest was quiet except for the occasional chirp or call of a bird in the trees. That was until, something a little louder than a bird made a noise, something more hoarse and guttural. And by the direction of the noise and the scent he was following it would seem Chase had come to find his pray quicker than he'd expected.
Chase slipped quietly through some bushes until he had eyes on three sheep with curved horns that he knew were Bighorn Sheep. Admittedly he had few firsts when it came to hearts in the last few years, but this would be another first, he'd never crossed paths with these creatures on his travels with his father. Or at least not as a Wolf. Though he suspected the taste wouldn't be too different from your average sheep. But Chase tried to enjoy the little things. A noise from further into the forest momentarily startled the sheep, Chase too though on a smaller level, but it was enough to send the prey moving parallel towards his bush. Before they got too near Chase swiftly ran out of the bush, bee-lining for the nearest of the three animals who found themselves once again startled and attempting to flee.
Elijah returned the smile, looking up at Ashley-May. "Me? I feel great. The drugs are seeing to that," he said jokingly, gesturing to the intravenous bag to his left that he was connected to. Looking back at Ashley, his tone became more serious. "More importantly, I'm alive. I hear I have you to thank for that, by the way." Eli paused, clearing his throat. "So... thank you."
Will leaned against the wall opposite Elijah's bed, watching the exchange with a smile, arms crossed. He was beyond relieved to see Elijah alive and essentially coherent, but he knew the man wasn't out of the woods by a long shot. Will hoped Alaric could help in that regard. More to the point, his relief was tempered by the fact that he couldn't look at Eli and not think of the fact that he had been a part of it. Pan had seen to that, just to spice up his little game. It wasn't something Will would forget anytime soon... nor forgive. Mackenzie's plan was sounding better and better by the minute. Glancing idly over, he frowned when he saw that Mac was nowhere to be seen. Stepping toward the doorway, he glance down the hallway toward the waiting room. Nothing. Looking in the other direction, he spotted her standing in another partitioned patient "room", addressing someone inside.
He approached slowly, looking over her shoulder to see the man inside. He didn't look familiar. "Mac?"
Solomon smiled when she finally relented and gave her name, " Well then Mackenzie why do you want his location? I can assure you he won't be causing problems for you and yours anymore." Solomon then began a coughing fit and wiped the blood from his hand onto his hospital gown. Clearing his throat Solomon began to speak again, " now if you don't mind I'd like some rest. That goat gave me more trouble than I thought." Solomon had muttered the last sentence to himself before lying back down in his bed.
Solomon had paid the man that entered no heed. At least this person knew some manners. NanLiaSafton
Elijah smiled, returning the squeeze as well as he could in his current state. "I'm... holding you to that," he said, faintly, his eyelids already drooping as his grip on Ashley's hand weakened. His head slowly lolled to one side on the pillow as he slipped into sleep. Julia, having returned to stand patiently in the doorway, slipped quietly inside to approach the bed and attend to checking his vitals, more out of procedure than anything. "We'll take care of him. Come by any time that you like," she whispered to Ashley.
Will's eyes flicked between Mackenzie and the man in the bed, who by all appearances had become the subject of an interrogation by her. She was asking him about a god and the man's reply didn't suggest ignorance... or innocence. Especially the remark about a goat -- that could only refer to one god William knew all too well. Hendrix clenched his jaw at the scene, considering their options. At the end of the day, he was a patient. Interrogating him in the middle of Vitae's Clinic would probably bring them the wrong kind of attention. Still, Mac clearly thought he important enough to risk it and he trusted her judgement.
"We'd be happy to leave you in peace if you give us any information you have," Will said, keeping his tone measured and just short of polite. It was a long time since he'd played the "good cop", but everything was relative these days.
Solomon began coughing more violently for a some reason he couldn't explain. To him if felt as if his energy was being sapped away from him. He hadn't wrote anything within the seal that required he feed it power to keep it active so why was he feeling this way. Perhaps it was the stress of having to keep the newly sealed god from acting out. Even as they spoke he could feel Pan trying to break free from his seal. The seal was still new and untested, so the last thing Solomon needed was for Pan to test it's limits like he was. Especially considering he couldn't say the incantation to quell the god in front of the two people who had begun interrogating him.
After his coughing finally subsided Solomon looked between the two of them with a bit of disdain, " I've been running from demons since the Apocalypse happened and the Men of letters were scattered. I answer YOUR call for help only to be attacked and marked by some sort of Goat, and now I'm being interrogated without rest? I don't know what you two think you're doing, but you need to reevaluate what your security around here. If you've got Satyrs running around in your forest you're going to be ill prepared for the darkness over the horizon." Solomon said before falling into another coughing fit.
Until he could confirm who these too were he wasn't about to let them know that he had bound a god in his knife. Especially when the woman was acting the way she was. For all he knew she could be a witch working with the Colony and he wasn't about to let just anyone look at his magic. NanLiaSafton
The aftermath of the attack on the bighorn sheep left one of the mammals bloodied and lifeless. The animal was on it's side with a messy bloody hole in it's chest where Chase had quite literally chewed his way to the heart. The wolf stood nearby licking it's bloody lips, glancing at the corpse. Depending on the area and circumstances Chase had been known to bury the bodies of some of his prey in the event anyone with the know-how stumbled across it and might lead them to know a Werewolf was in the area. This time he decided to leave the corpse for the birds and other wildlife, even if someone spotted it there wasn't really a problem since everyone knew there was a pack nearby, it'd be blamed on them.
Feeling far more relaxed and satiated he started trotting away, from the smell of it there was a stream nearby and he'd like to not only get a drink but wash his bloody snout off. Sure enough he crossed a stream moments later, moving to the edge he peered down at his reflection momentarily then he took a few laps of the cold and refreshing water.
Afterwards Chase would take one quick instinctive glance around before shifting back to his human form, the blood carrying over on his face and chest. The man shoved both hands into the stream and started splashing water on his face and rubbing the blood off. Cleaning himself was quicker in this form, and he'd rather do it now than when he got back to the vehicle, not to mention while it was still fresh.
Well at the very least that got her off the topic of Pan. Though Solomon would have rather saved that but of information if it got her off his back so he could sleep it didn't matter at this point. Not to mention all the new information she was spouting off so casually. It was enough to make Solomon's head spin. Oracle?Abyss? What was she talking about?
"Calm down Mackenzie. You already know more than I do. I just happened to pick up on some chatter while I scrying for information about a demon that had been following me. All I got from it was that some god was worried about a beast cloaked in darkness waking up. That it would mean the end of humanity." Solomon explained already way past his limit. He was visibly pale and barely able to keep himself awake.
"Please... let me rest." Solomon pleaded, he could barely keep Pan at bay at this point and the last thing he needed was to be labeled a threat by the Colony NanLiaSafton
William's jaw tightened as the man replied, essentially pleading with the two of them at this point. Hendrix had no idea what the two of them were talking about -- the Abyss? -- and it was something he'd have to cover with Mac later. But, for the time being... the man seemed earnest enough. Whether or not that meant he a friend or worthy of their trust was another matter, but Will couldn't see any good coming from attempting to push him any further for now. If they let up for the time being, he might be more inclined to willingly share with them later on... and in a more appropriate locale.
Hendrix turned to Mackenzie, clearing his throat lightly. "Maybe we should let him have his rest. Collect his thoughts?" he said, his tone quiet and impassive. He hoped she would go along with the change in demeanor.
Chase stood and stepped back from the bank of the stream, water dripping off his body while he turned around. Momentarily he considered his options, and while he could just go back there was no reason he had to. Elijah was injured, sure, but Chase couldn't do anything for him. Joe was being Joe, and the Colony was calming from Pan's panic stricken trials. These were the excuses Chase gave himself for feeling no reason to rush back, besides there was no way to know when the next time he'd be able to get this far out and stretch his legs.
Pausing for the moment Chase shifted back to his four-legged form, turning his head up slightly to smell the air before jogging away from the steam at a steady pace before picking up to a faster speed. His vehicle was to the East though Chase was headed more North for the time being. The only hint of predator he'd managed to smell was a mountain lion whose trail he avoided purposefully.
Not long after he maneuvered around the trail Chase slowed his pace considerably in a moment of confusion until he was standing still. The chirps and songs from the feathered creatures overhead that he'd been listening to earlier were now silent. Never a good sign. Maybe it had something to do with Pan but Chase knew not to screw around, when a forest goes quiet you get out. Nature doesn't screw around. So with little to no hesitation he turned back east and started moving, keeping his nose up for a familiar scent to follow back to his ride home.
Thor grimaced as he felt a certain presence, or rather the absence of a certain presence. Being the one that once had cast her down to Niflheim, he kept an eye on her to make sure that she remained there to attend to her duties as the godess of death. He would have to investigate this himself, with the exception of a few gods like Tyr, Thor was the only Norse god that Hel would heed. It did not take long for him to sense where she were. Hades... It must be something of great importance then. He thought to himself, realising that a trip to the Underworld was in order. The Underworld was a dark place that Thor only visited when he needed to, and he hoped he would not have to stay long.
He first noticed Hel, then he saw Hades "Hel, I noticed that you were no longer in Nifelheim, what brings you here?" he said, his voice full of authority. Hel turned around, and upon seeing Thor she took a step back, saying that she feared him was maybe an overstatement, but she was wary of him "Hades requested my presence, he was about to tell me why." she responded. Thor looked to Hades "Greetings Hades, it's been a long time. I am curious too what was so urgent that Hel here needed to leave Niflheim."
Hades turned when he heard the familiar voice of Thor entering his palace. " Ah, Welcome Thor, though I wasn't expecting you." Hades said giving a look to Hel. He had next to no dealings with Thor in their mutually long lives, but Hel had spoken of him. It seemed to Hades that Thor was basically Zeus. Especially at this point considering he was now King. That was all it would take for Hades not to like Thor, but he had more pressing issues to deal with.
"As I was just about to explain to my sister, Ever since the Apocalypse came and went the seal on the First Sin has been steadily weakening. To make matters worse it seems that a mortal organizations, Minotaur, is actively trying to free it." Hades said as he pulled out the Key of the Abyss and the gate appeared in front of the gods. Overlaying the gate was an intricate pattern of Sigils laid there by the Archangels. It was plain to see that the Sigils were deteriorating. " I've had my lieutenant Hypnos periodically pouring his power into the Abyss to keep it asleep. However my concern is that organization. They've already kidnapped Hypnos's wife and thanks to that they know where Persephone is. I called Hel here to get her opinion on what should be done."
One moment Chase assumed he was alone moving through the forest, the next he'd caught the scent of another wolf. Before he could even comprehend what it meant he came to realize it was more than one. Whoever it was had clearly been moving with stealth, but now they weren't as caring. The yip's and noises caused Chase to nearly stumble as he pushed his four legs faster, he was beginning to panic. A pack of Werewolves had him likely surrounded and right on his tail, and escaping was his only chance. Momentarily he cursed the curse that forced him to devour hearts, turns out it would indeed be the death of him.
Dammit, dammit, dammit!
He could hear them running on either side of him, keeping up and staying in whatever position they had going. One moved in and snapped at his heels, a move Chase assumed was going to be the take-down but wasn't. He'd reacted with a growl and half snap back though he'd not slowed in doing so. Chase's paws pounded the ground as he willed himself to pick up the pace. The wolf's mind raced on how he'd escape this particular predicament, there was no telling just how many of them there were so fighting was a negative. Running for the colony or just running til he lost them was viable but to be honest he suspected that with their numbers he wouldn't make it. Which meant his ride was the only shot Chase had at making it out, he just had to be quick enough to get out of there before they could prevent him from driving away.
Now with a plan he sprinted with renewed vigor. Oddly enough it was the one direction they weren't blocking him from going. At one point he'd attempted to veer off only to be herded back in the previous direction by snarling. And it didn't occur to Chase until they were closing in on the Toyota that these wolves had yet to even make a move on him thus far, they were toying with him before finishing the job. This only served to fuel him further.
Well, at least until he burst through into the less dense clearing of trees he'd left the vehicle in. Where he got a nose-full of a scent that sent a shiver down his spine. An Alpha. Ahead was the Toyota, along with one man in front and one more to the side of it. One glance over his shoulder told Chase that he was no longer being pursued, he'd reached the destination that everyone including himself seemed to want him at. Chase slowed down as he neared them, knowing full well that if he ran he'd be stopped by the pack likely waiting in the woods.
The wolf padded nervously closer to the man who was clearly the Alpha, the arrogant smirk on the older mans face wasn't the only dead giveaway. Chase was growling low and defensively, officially a cornered animal. But the sight of his pants on the ground between them told Chase that the Alpha wanted to speak first, the pants were his way of telling Chase to shift into his human form without words. But in this moment with adrenaline still pumping through his veins he hesitated. NanLia
William could see the conflict etched on Mackenzie's features as she looked back at the bedridden man. He expected an argument, a refusal. He nearly breathed a sigh of relief when she finally nodded, turning on her heel to leave the room with one final glance backward. Will followed her, sparing a moment to look in on Elijah, sleeping peacefully. With a reassured smile, he nodded to himself before heading out the rear of the Clinic to meet up with Mackenzie. Stepping outside, the door had barely shut behind him when she spoke: "Why did you stop me? He knows about Pan. The god is in there, some where and he has him pinned."
Will nodded his understanding as he leaned against the wall of the Clinic, taking Mac's offered hand in his own with a smile. "I get it. I wasn't trying to undermine you. I want to know whatever it is that he knows as bad as you do, trust me. But if there was an angry god manifesting in there, wouldn't we have noticed?" he asked, his tone measured and patient.
"They have plenty of powers, but subtlety doesn't seem to be one of them," he added with a smile. "I know you can... sense these things. More than I ever could. But from what I could see, that guy -- whoever he is -- is no friend of Pan's. I'm thinking that makes him a potential ally for us. We cut him some slack now... and maybe we end up earning more with honey than vinegar in the long run."
Will paused to glance at his watch. "Damn it. You're right. We'd better get there early or Brendan will have search parties out for us." He squeezed Mac's hand gently, beginning to lead the way toward the meeting place.
"You want to know how I know about your dad and your mom, you ask him.". Jackson nodded at Bart for his response, he knew that it was best to hear it form his father but he likes to keep things to himself. Sometimes Jackson feels like his father doesn't want him and Daniella to know his past for some reason but at the end of the day he will be determine to find out what his past is. While waiting for his father and his sister, and they finally pulled up Daniella looked pissed off and their father looking down. "Is everything alright". Daniella just looked up at me and walks towards the other direction, while shaking her head.
Daniella wanted the lying to stop with her father, she wanted him to be open with her and stop hiding things from her and her brother. Heck her and her brother are the same freaking age and he still can't tell her things about his past or anything for that matter she had enough of it. When her dad parked the car, she was the first one out of here and started walking ahead to not see her father. Once her brother came into view and he asked what was wrong she walked away and saw that the two of them were following her, she saw Bart was still around so she had to ask "What do we do next do we wait?"
