Thanatos would watch as Brendan brought out his device and relayed the message. The Rider would think for a moment trying decide whether or not he should allow the human the opportunity to save his own skin. He would love nothing more than to expunge this stain of a city from existence, but... He was here on his brother's behalf so he would have to refrain from doing as he pleased. " Very well Brendan I'll give you the Tim-" Thanatos would start to say before he noticed the presence of the fallen angel transporting some humans back into the Colony. " On second thought you didn't tell me you had angels at your call... It happens tonight Brendan. Or I will hold you. And your council personally responsible for what happens to Pasithea." With that Thanatos left the human to his work and went to seek out the angel. As he walked Thanatos released plenty of his power to announce his presence to the divine being.

Hypnos sat on the roof of an office building nearby where Pasithea was being held. Burying his head in his hands Hypnos could do nothing but listen to his wife's screams. Even now with the love of his immortal life being ruthlessly tortured by humans all he could do was love and forgive them. Tears streaming down his face the drowsy god could only weep for the humans for he knew that tonight every single human life in that building would be extinguished. " It's not their fault.... they don't have a choice but to hurt her..... they have families and children waiting on them...." Hypnos would mutter to himself trying to rationalize it for them. Trying to think of some way he could convince his brother to spare them. Then something even more terrifying than his brother happened. The screams stopped.

Brendan would frown at Thanatos's statement, they more certainly did not have an angel's assistance at the colony, but when he was dismissed he was already headed out to the barracks to meet his hunters, and search for this angel.  He would beg, if need be, to have his hunters transported to New York as soon as possible.  As he was crossing across Vitae he became away for Mackenzie and Eli, with their cars just inside the gates.  To Eli he would say.  "You, I don't have your number, hunter meeting in barracks now."  His eyes would travel to Alaric; another man he hadn't seen "You too."  He'd take anyone capable but he'd pause when he glanced at Mackenzie.  "You're not going." and simply continued on.

Ashley would laugh a little at Chase's offer; "Mac will eat you."  Was all she could say really, but when William stated he could handle Mac, well, this certainly was a shock to her, but she left any disbelief, or belief unsaid.  She found it a little amusing that William at least thought he could calm the wild.

Mackenzie, unfortunately did not have the forethought to close her eyes during the transition.  The sudden change of scenery was jarring, to say the least, it made her head spin, but given the amount of godly abuse she'd received today, this was nothing.  For the second time today Alaric opened the door to Mackenzie's car earning himself a scowl from her instead of thanks.  She'd climb out a little unsteady as she heard Eli's comment.  "So the did come after us-"  Brendan arrived and made his proclamation before turning and striding away.  "Like hell I'm not going, damn it we need Will here."  She assumed Brendan's reluctance to include her was his and the council's doing.

Chase gave a low chuckle at Ashley's comment, "I know it's hard to believe I'm more than a pretty face, but I bite back." He replied sarcastically, resting his injured arm on the open door window. "So are you and Mac a part of Brendan's personal strike team or something?" As the Toyota arched over the top of a slope Vitae's walls could be seen in the far distance.

Alaric stood back, listening for a moment.  "You know, if you gave me this Will gentleman's whole name, I could easily teleport to him and teleport back with him," he says nonchalantly.  "Only reason I need the first name is because there is a million and one Will's in the world to track, so I kind of need to know which one to track," he says.  "If not that's fine too, but it'd be faster for you," he finishes as he straightens his tie absent mindedly while awaiting her answer.

It would only take a moment for Thanatos to find the angel that had provided transport to what seemed to be a literal truck full of humans. It seemed that while Death had enjoyed his little stroll through the settlement this Brendan was hard at work making sure that his Colony would hold up their end of the deal. Thanatos walked up to the group of humans but only looked to Alaric.

" You're the one my brother asked to watch over his.... pet correct?" The deity asked Alaric only giving a slight glance to the human girl. He knew exactly who this girl was. Hypnos had even went as far as to orchestrate her survival on the night she should have died. Thanatos would look for into Mackenzie later for now he had matters to discuss with a fallen angel. " hurry along then, we will speak after the little human is done scrambling." Thanatos said dismissively. They had until nightfall after all. Plenty of time for them to plot their attack.

Elijah raised his eyebrow at Brendan's command to him, though it caught him less off guard than his subsequent and unhesitating dismissal of Mac. Davenport was tempted to follow along like a good little soldier and thus evade Will's wrath for a little longer, but decided against it. He'd wait for the others to arrive first. He turned to Mackenzie. "Will mentioned New York, but I never got the text you did. What's this about? I know Hypnos is involved."

Ashley was delighted by Chase's answer, "I would pay good money to see that fight, and I think Eli would too."  She'd no doubt that Chase was a capable man, but Mac was scrappy and creative; she'd watched the diminutive woman take out men, supernatural or otherwise, three times her size without a care in the world.  She shrugged slightly.  "It was part of our agreement being allowed inside of Vitae, we had to join his Elite.  Really we just drop off supplies to outposts, but sometimes, like today, we're sent out for extractions; that's what Mac and I were doing in Alliance.  It was supposed to be a supply drop and recon, but we were ambushed."

Mackenzie glanced to Alaric, rather surprised it was as simple as a name.  "William Hendrix."  Then she frowned and looked to Eli.  "Does he have a middle-"  A rather strange man approached them, speaking to the angel.  At first she was going to ignore him; annoyed that she had been interrupted when she heard him referencing her as Pet.  Rankled she turned back towards the stranger, glowering.  "Pet?"  Voice was calm and soft but she felt ever muscle within her small frame tense. "Pet?"  She'd ask again, teeth clenched. "I am no ones pet."  She'd hiss, her rage had clouded her thoughts; she'd missed every other word this man had said prior or after he'd referred to her as Hypnos's pet.  "No god, vampire or man -immortal or otherwise, owns me.  You make that clear to Hypnos when you see him next; and he better pray that you see him first."  She wouldn't wait for an answer or even reaction, she was stalking off after Brendan, enraged that she had been omitted from the ranks; Eli forgotten.

Alaric's face went pale when Thanatos approached him and spoke to him.  As soon as the god gave hima dismissal he took that to quickly walk away, forgetting about going and getting Will, instead he headed in the direction of that guy who told him a meeting in the barracks.  He sighed softly, glancing back at Mackenzie thinking she was stupid to be yelling at a god like that as he walked on.

Kyle gave a giant grin when Alex hugged him. "I thought I was pretty hilarious. Glad to see you." When she pulled away, he took another bite of his donut. Without missing a beat, he said, "Of course I'm pissed. I got a call from some guy asking about you. You couldn't have warned me? Man, I felt like Chris was mad at me again." He swatted her hand away when she poked him. His annoyed expression changing into a more playful one. "No. They're all mine." He started to walk back inside, calling over his shoulder. "But you can have one... I guess..."

When they started nearing the colony Chase let off the gas and allowed the Toyota coast to a stop. "The hell...?" Chase was leaned forwards against the steering wheel as if trying to get a closer look. They'd stopped on the outskirts of where there had been a small city of tents and vehicles of people waiting to get into the colony, before it had been organized enough to allow entry and exit from the colony. Now it was a cluster of people and vehicles busying about packing and piling their belongings into their vehicles, the Lycan could make out a few officials or at least those that seemed to be overseeing what was going on. Currently there was more than enough of a mess that there was no possible way for Chase, or anyone for that matter, to drive though and back into Vitae. At first glance he'd assumed they were moving the cluster inside for safety concerns from the wolves, instead he could see a vehicle or two leaving. "What are they doing, kicking these people to the curb?" He asked half-frustrated at the sight.

Will's jaw clenched at Chase's comment. He was partially correct, of course... and Will had backed the suggestion to "relocate" the refugees to another location. "It's for the best," Hendrix muttered quietly. "There's no living space in the Colony for them at the moment and if they stay out here, they'll be open season for the wolves while making our job harder." William sighed. "Better this way," he said, with an obvious lack of enthusiasm.

Elijah watched the scene unfold between Mackenzie and the man. It didn't take him long to put the pieces together -- Alaric was sent by Hypnos, who in turn was claimed by this newcomer as his brother. Davenport's eyes went wide, a bulge forming in his throat. This was him: Thanatos. Death incarnate. Any mention of Will's middle name had fled his mind as he stood frozen, eyeing the insect that dared to defy the exterminator.

Ashley would lean forward in her seat to over look the scene before them, shocked by the chaos that was laid ahead, then confused at Williams admittance to him agreeing with it.  "They should be moved inside, not away."  She'd state rather simply.  "They could be useful, even if they are civilians, we need all the help we can get."  She was shaking her head, at this rate it would take them hours to get back inside the walls.  Taking her phone from her pocket she was opening Brendan's text and replying to him, telling him she and two other hunters were caught outside the walls, blocked by the exodus.   "Going to see if Brendan can speed this up."  She'd say after sending the message.

Officials were slowly getting people to move to one side of the road or another, Chase's vehicle not the only one now waiting in queue to return to the colony, other Hunters out on supply runs were returning at Brendan's call, forming a line behind them.  Eventually they would manage to clear a path, allowing the Toyota and the cars behind it to edge at a snails pace forward.

Brendan stepped into the barracks and was disappointed to find only three of the hunters he'd messaged, frowning he'd check his phone to see a plethora of messages coming in, his hunters were stuck outside the walls!  He was immediately dialing Jon Diffey, and as soon as the line picked up he was speaking. "Jon, you sonofabitch, you need to clear the road now."

Diffey would frown, looking down the road way from atop the walls over looking the gates.  "Can't be done, Brendan.  This is what your new hire wanted, this is what you get, should teach you to try and -"  Brendan was shouting now, Diffey had to pull the phone away from his ear.

"You listen to me, and you listen good, we have Death sitting at our door step, and I don't mean figuratively; the god, Death, is in Vitae as we speak.  I need those cars and those hunters in here now!"

Diffey paled hearing this, without hanging up the phone he started shouting orders to his men, setting them into a scramble.

Mackenzie was enraged.  Tired, sore and hungry Brendan had angered her by excluding her from the extraction mission; the very one Hypnos had given her a migraine for, then some man was calling her the god's pet!  Brendan had disappeared into the barracks and she was not far behind him.  Mackenzie stepped through the door just as Brendan was taking the phone away from his ear, he glanced towards the doorway hopeful another of his hunters had arrived but instead glared at Mac.  "Do not start with me Skye Canonach."  He was stalking towards her, hand taking her by the upper arm and turning her back towards the door, effectively pushing her outside of the barracks.  "You are not on this mission; you are injured and part of the council.  Go find Hendrix and do you damn job, protect this place form the Pack."  Outside the doors he'd release her before returning back inside and closing the door on her.

Mackenzie was stunned; she'd never seen Brendan so angry, not when she was younger or even more recently.  She'd thought to protest, wanted to fight with him, but the man had made it clear; council members, their aides included, were not part of his team.

Alaric blinked as he watched the man deal with the angry Mackenzie.  Skye Canonach huh?  Well, at least he'd be able to track her wherever she was now.  He shrugged nonchalantly while checking his watch.  "If you would like Mr... I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name, I'm Alaric, a fallen angel, who Hypnos asked to keep an eye on the girl you sent away.  But anyway, as I was saying, if you would like, I could clear that road in under thirty seconds," he says, having overheard his entire conversation with the man on the phone.  He wasn't one to ignore eaves dropping when he could, especially in situations like this, where he didn't know everyone.

Dayne Matthews

Dayne Staggered to his feet, seemingly searching for someone.

Deep down something primal was looking for someone.

He was looking for the being who cursed him with this.

Dayne finally snapped, the morbid visions paired with his exhaustion pushed his mind to its limits.

Standing to his feet, he trembled slightly as his legs struggled to support his body.

Feeling someone help him up, he shrugged from their grip.

He did not know how but something was telling him the cause behind every vision was here.

He started following some path in his own mind, not knowing where he was going.

He made his way through the colony, his eyes darting frantically.

As he let his body guide him, he did not realise that he had collided with someone.

Shaking his head, he looked at the girl he had knocked over and realised who he had run into.

His body trembling from the effort of staying up right, he turned his gaunt figure to the girl he had knocked ( @NanLia )

"where..is...are...they, the ones who did this to me"

He barely said as his hands fisted into his hair. He knew a vague figure but he could remember the feeling of his mind being force fed these visions.

Looking around, his eyes landed on the god, not realising who it was. That feeling was back but different, it was darker somewhat.

Trembling, his eyes darted between the three frantically as if the answer to his unspoken questions would appear.

s03e03_lastship_photo12.jpg

Chase turned his had to Will with a look of shock, "So the answer is to tell them sorry and to fend for themselves? You do realize that its very likely the werewolves eyes these people have already aligned themselves with Vitae, right? You don't think they'll be hunted or targeted? They'll probably be picked off one by one after they leave here." It was hard to say if there Werewolves would do those things, but Chase knew that the packs weren't just sitting around on their asses waiting for the full moon. They were watching, and this wouldn't go unnoticed. Whether they reacted or not...was hard to guess. It depended on why they were attacking colonies.

Luckily they'd at least started moving forwards, but it would still be forever before they got inside. Chase started to unconsciously tap his thumb at the top of the steering wheel, he was frustrated and anxious. There was a need to be in those walls now, and it was only growing stronger. Unknown to Chase a part of this would be because of the oracle inside those walls that was currently emitting his currently heightened powers.

William turned in his seat to face Chase. "What would you have me do, Chase? You think I haven't thought those same exact things? That I like the idea of sending scared, helpless people -- people with families -- away to God knows where?" His tone was harsh, visceral as he spoke. "Maybe we should leave them out here, let them become a feast on wheels. Or we could try cramming them inside the walls -- with no space to house them or their shit, no food to keep them fed -- until panic hits and the Vitae rips itself apart from the inside without the wolves needing to lift a finger."

Will sighed, regaining his composure. "The Wolves are interested in Vitae: the Colony... and the people already here. They might spend time and resources tracking hundreds of people cross-country, and those people might end up getting hunted down and killed. But if they stay here -- one way or another -- it's a question of when, not if." Hendrix turned to glance out the window, shaking his head at the chaos surrounding the SUV. He was drumming his fingers against his leg, impatient to get inside and out of this madhouse.

Brendan  blinked at the introduction to the man, or thing he thought was a man earlier.  "Brendan." He'd say slowly, hearing the offer, then slowly processing it.  "No," he'd shake his head.  "Leave Diffey to sort out his own mess, I need my hunters in here now."  He was looking down to his phone flipping through texts.  "Four cars on the road now, waiting to get let in, can you get them in here?"  He'd look back up the the self-proclaimed angel, noting to question why Hypnos would have an angel, fallen or not, following around Mackenzie.

Ashley fell silent int he back seat of Chase's SUV, Williams outburst unexpected.  The man had been on the council for less than a day, but already she could see the stress wearing on him, she felt for him, knowing well that Mackenzie's excursion likely didn't help with his current mood.  Watching out the front window, it looks as though the Officials were working faster, but with no answer from Brendan, she couldn't really tell.

Mackenzie frowned as someone collided with her on the front steps of the barracks, she'd shuffle to regain her footing before turning to face the young man.  Listening to his near gibberish speech she would slowly and cautiously step back away form him, hands raising defensively.  "You just need to relax, a little." She'd say softly, the kid looked like he was about to, or in the midst of a nervous break down. "Who are you talking about?  What people?"  How the hell did they let this guy in?  She was beginning to believe the man possessed, right hand slipping behind her back to retrieve her blade, she'd pause, startled, it wasn't there.  "How about we get you to the clinic?"  She would speak softer now, slowly backing away from the disturbed man.

s03e03_lastship_photo12.jpg

Chase listened to Will's response, nearly letting his mood get to him and flaring things further into an argument. Part of what stopped him was the fact that through the frustration he was aware that the other man had made valid points. It still didn't mean he liked it, at all. The other part was that he could tell William wasn't exactly thrilled about it either, so there was no reason to get into it with him.

At one point the line moved forwards and Chase started to coast forwards slowly, only to have to hit the suddenly brakes hard as someone walked out in front of the truck to cross the road. Chase slammed one hand into the horn momentarily before throwing his hands up in frustration, "Watch it asshole!" He shouted angrily out the driver window only to receive a middle finger in response. Chase was fuming, and the fact that he didn't know why he was so angry wasn't helping either. He slumped back in his seat and pinched the bridge of his nose while closing his eyes for a moment to try and settle himself while they waited. Honestly he couldn't remember the last time he felt so off center. Chase was acting more on instincts than he usually would, this was something he was now aware of. And he didn't like it.

Alex winced, remembering how scary Chris, no matter how soft- spoken she was, became when she was mad at you. Alex had been on the receiving side of many a lecture. Whether it be because she had put salt in an old hullahoop and tried to bring it along, or she ate junk food for breakfast again. She lightened up when Kyle said she could have a donut. "Yay! I can haz donut!" She started towards the door only to stop just inside. She had been feeling did all day, but now she had a feeling she couldn't shake. Like she had to be somewhere, to do something. So there she stood, torn between her desire to be with her friend, and the foreign feeling that bothered her.

((So warm. Spiders are coming out, (I wish they would stay out of my sight, I hate them.) The Forsythia bushes are blooming, flowers are coming out, my cats are shedding their winter coats, the squirrels are coming out, and birds are coming back. Six more weeks of winter my butt. I JUST WANT SNOW!!! I WANT TO GO SLEDDING!!! But noooooo. It'll snow, and by mid afternoon, it'll be gone. :'( It was never truly winter.))

Alaric listened to the man.  "Yeah, sure, give me a moment," he says disappearing from the sight of Brendan.  Once outside the gates with the four cars, he walked up to each car and told the drivers to keep all their appendages inside their vehicles and that they would be inside momentarily.  He then walked to the front of all four of the cars and closed his eyes, and POOF, they all appeared within the inside of the walls, not being detained from going to barracks any longer, then he teleported back to the barracks in front of Brendan.  "It is done, they should be in momentarily," he says smiling.

Thanatos could only watch the humans scramble and squirm with a smile on his face.  What amused him most was his brother's little pet project Mackenzie. She was certainly a strong willed little insect indeed. He could only chuckle to himself for a moment while Brendan confronted Mackenzie on her attitude, which was yet another amusing show.

This colony was just filled to the brim with interesting humans, he was starting to understand why his brother was so interested in them. In his own way of course. Speaking of interesting people Hypnos's Oracle decided to crawl out of whatever hole he had been holed up in, and it looked like he was quite broken. So Thanatos approached to poor Oracle, " Are you looking for me Oracle?" Thanatos would ask the mortal. Glancing at Mackenzie he would say, " I will tell my brother no such thing girl. In fact you should be grateful. Without him you would have been reaped on that night."

William recoiled in his seat as the surroundings outside the vehicle suddenly changed. His eyes caught glimpses of buildings and walls -- Vitae's interior -- before he shut them. The transition had been sudden and frankly jarring, causing a bout of nausea to rise up before he forced it back down. Taking a deep breath, he opened his eyes again as if to confirm what he'd seen was real. It was. "That's... different," he muttered before reaching for his seatbelt buckle.

Elijah spotted the sudden appearance of the vehicles from afar and shook his head. "Here we go," he said quietly. Time to face the music.

Brendan would nod at the angel, shocked when he simply disappeared from sight, he'd turn a nervous smile to the three hunters that had been inside the colonies walls, "As soon as the others are here, I'll give you more details."  He attempted to assure them and himself.  True to his word Alaric returned within just a few minutes, telling them the others would arrive shortly.  "Thank you," He'd nod once more.  "We'll be of need of your help again, shortly.  Thanatos has us on a dead-line, I need my hunters in New York before this afternoon."  He knew he had until nightfall, but he wanted to make sure to have this underway long before then; there were laws of odds that Brendan did not like to play with.  Certainly not when Death was visiting.

Tensions running high inside the car with the two men, Ashley had decided she was going to try and walk her way inside the walls; it seemed like it would be faster and an easy way to avoid the two stressed hunters in the front of the vehicle.  She'd packed her laptop and her phone up, and was about to exit the vehicle when the moved around them.  It was hard to understand exactly what had occurred, a man appeared at Chase's window quickly, said something, then left.  She was looking around herself now within the colonies walls, "Oh god." Was all she could say, spotting Mackenzie and Eli a short distance away with two others, she'd glance towards Will; he was already stressed, she could only imagine this wasn't going to go well.

Mackenzie blink as the stranger spoke.  Oracle? She'd frown glancing from the stranger to the disoriented boy standing before her.  He's an Oracle?  He's insane!  If Hypnos thought for a second she was going to submit to become this he was out of his damned mind.  She knew she could call to him, pray his name and seek to speak to him, and was about to when she understood what the stranger had said to her.  "Your brother?""  Reaped.  She paled visibly, cold dread coursing through veins as she came to understand her error.  This was the King of the Reapers.  Death.  And she'd scolded him.  She thought to run; but what good would that do?  He was a god!  Now the second she'd met and while Hypnos had been nothing but pleasant to her, Death was a far greater threat.  "I....." She could think of nothing that would save her skin, but the truth.  "I am grateful to him."  She knew then she would accept his offer, pros and cons be-damned; the god had kept her breathing and save her from his brother.

s03e03_lastship_photo12.jpg

Chase watched curiously as a man walked towards his window after having stopped by the other vehicles windows on the way. It wasn't until they were face to face that the Werewolf caught the odd scent he couldn't distinguish. "You--what?" He'd ask, being ignored as the other man stepped towards the hood of the Toyota and then they were inside. Chase blinked twice momentarily dazed before shoving the driver door open and thrusting his head outside feeling the jerky from before making it's way back up. After being relinquished of his earlier snack Chase closed the door and took a deep breath as he recovered, the one who'd teleported them was now gone. "What was that? One of these Angels I've heard around? Not a fan." But the incident had seemingly managed to calm him back down. His eyes would lock on to Eli heading their direction, ironic, and yet he somehow got back to the colony before they did...confusing.

Thanatos nodded at Mackenzie when she told him she was grateful to Hypnos, " I don't care what your opinion of my brother or myself is Mackenzie, but there is a certain level of respect one should have to their savior. " Thanatos's words were both and a statement and a threat. If she continued to disrespect Hypnos after all he had done for her Thanatos would make sure the next time was her last, and where she was going to end up would be less than pleasant.

Leaning against his cane Thanatos said, " At any rate you want to go up to New York as well correct? I'll make sure you get up there. I'm sure Hypnos would rather you stay away, but it's something you need to see. To understand just how powerful of a Patron you have."

Death looked to the broken oracle as he starred at the group. The one who had done this to him was God not Hypnos. The Creator would used to give them actual prophets, but after Christianity began spreading they were left with scraps and this was the result. Poor souls who were ill equipped and unprepared for the fate bestowed upon them.

0d8cabe345d35506169fec17fa6d841c.jpg

After a few minutes of feeling pity for the humans of what was to come Hypnos began to rationalize it. After all this wouldn't be the first time he and his brother had worked together to kill people. In fact they had done it to entire villages not just an office building, but those were under orders and bit had pained him so much to end their lives. At the very least Hypnos would give them good fantasies as they killed one another. They wouldn't feel the pain of their last breaths. Only the bliss of a gently slumber. After all it was his duty as a husband to protect his wife, but that didn't mean he had to be cruel about it. For the first time in hours Hypnos managed a smile and with his worry finally gone he fell into a deep slumber, disappearing from the mortal world.
