William was in the process of packing before Chase returned when he nearly bumped into someone: Hypnos. The god had seemingly materialized -- as was becoming a disturbing habit of his -- in the middle of the house. He rapidly backpedaled, raising his hands defensively before relaxing. He sighed. "Where is she, Hypnos? Where's Mackenzie? I know you were with her."

Elijah paused, looking the Angel up and down. "My name is Elijah," he said politely, before shuffling past Alaric and climbing into the truck that still blocked the driveway. He fired up the beast, rolling down the window to lean out. "Ready, Mac?" he called to her before turning back to the angel. "For what it's worth, I hope your offer of help for Vitae is genuine... they'll need it." He shifted the truck into reverse. "Watch your wings."

He would talk to Mac about this "Oracle" business later... as it was, he didn't look forward to fielding the incoming barrage of increasingly angry calls from Will that was sure to come once Hypnos informed him of their whereabouts.

The nurse tending to the newcomer certainly was not about to put up with any nonsense from the injured woman; moment she started fighting help the nurse stepped away from the bed, crossing her arms over her chest. "Now you listen here," She'd start, firmly.  "I have plenty of other things to do with my day here, and you are not one them."  She'd step towards the besides once more. "You're safe inside the walls of Vitae, what's your name? Where did you come from?"

Ashley didn't need much in order to prepare to leave; all she needed was the laptop to keep tabs on Mackenzie's spending.  She was headed to the door to meet Chase for when he came back with his vehicle when she could hear William speaking to someone further back in the house.  She'd round the corner and spot Hypnos, of course the god had something to do with all this, she would frown slightly, Will knew the god was with Mackenzie?

Mackenzie spun around to tell Hypnos to take the angel with him... and he was already gone, and she was left standing and staring at the being the god left behind her.  I don't need another babysitter.  She was already annoyed that Eli had caught up with her; Hypnos's fault, and now there was an angel, also the gods fault.  She was trying to recall why exactly she was leaning towards being among his disciples when she looked back up tot he fallen angel.  "No, it's always a curse, no matter if you're trying to kill me or not. I'm Mac, and you're riding with him." She'd point towards Eli's truck before heading back towards her own car.

Mac certainly was not waiting around to see if the angel would actually do as the god had asked; follow her on her mission.  Once she was within the drivers seat again, ignition turned on she was pulling out back onto the road towards their next stop.  She had a list of items she'd need before getting to the motel and setting up for the trap, among them breakfast, but she'd postpone that for the time being, Hypnos had already delayed her enough.

Alaric was about to respond to Hypnos when the god disappeared and he sighed.  He looked at Mackenzie.  "Well, that's rather rude," he muttered as she went back to her own car.  He shrugged as he walked up to Elijah's truck and placed a hand on the open handle and gave Elijah a questioning look of whether or not he was allowed to hop in.  Not that he needed to just climb in like a normal human, but he tried his best not to flaunt his Angel abilities, as he found it rude and inconsiderate.  And while he was asking Elijah's permission, he wasn't likely to take no for an answer.  Even if the man took off without him he would just teleport into his passenger seat.  While he didn't serve Hypnos, he didn't care to anger a God in any proportion.  And if he knew gods, even if they were asking politely, if you didn't do it, they got mighty upset.

Aurora looked at the woman as she sighed in relief when the woman told her she was in Vitae.  "Thank the gods... I made it," she said in relief and looked like she could cry.  "I'm a hunter, my brothers and I hunted together.  We got the call from Vitae for assistance, but on the way we met... the Werewolves... they..." she then started to cry, remembering what happened to her and her brothers.  "My brothers... they.." she couldn't choke out the words as she began to sob hard and shake.  She didn't know what she was going to do without her brothers.  She wasn't used to hunting without them, they had also never been apart.

Chase stopped the Toyota cruiser in front of the home, off to the side of the street. Honestly he'd expected to find them outside and ready to go, so when there was no sign of the duo he put the truck in park, pulled the keys free, and stepped out. Moving up the steps he entered through the front door, instantly spotting Ash looking around a corner. "You guys ready?" He'd ask walking closer and eventually being able to see what she was looking at, that being Will and Hypnos. Chase turned his head with a confused look at Ash, "I wasn't gone that long, what did I miss?"

Elijah glanced at his passenger side door with a smirk of morbid amusement. There was something so ridiculous about a being as powerful as this one asking permission to enter the vehicle like a common hitchhiker. He was sure there was some sort of grand philosophy lesson to be taken from that, but at the moment he didn't much care. "Climb on in, Feathers," he acquiesced with a smile. "She won't wait for long, trust me on that."

Hypnos smiled a bit nervously at William. He really needed to work on his human interaction skills. While it wasn't really his fault that he basically butcher any human interaction he had ever had it wasn't much of an excuse. While Hypnos didn't fear William out of all the humans in the Colony Hypnos was sure that William would be the one the figure out his weaknesses and exploit them. " Truth be told I'm not quite sure where she is. I didn't take the time to look at the street name, and I rarely know what state I'm actually in with this country. I'll tell you what I do know however, Elijah is with her and so is a friend of mine. They are watching over her as we speak." Hypnos assured him, but the god knew no amount of reassurance was going to keep this man's anger at bay.

" Other than that I've offered Mackenzie a boon of sorts. I've asked her to become my Oracle. She would receive my word and prophetic dreams of the future. Among a plethora of benefits with.... a few downsides."

MattLauria1.jpg

William clenched his jaw, fists tightening at his sides as Hypnos mentioned Elijah being with Mackenzie. If he hadn't called yet, he didn't plan to call at all... which could only mean one thing. He was going along with Mac on her mission, without their support. He never would have expected Eli to go over his head like this... but now wasn't the time for that. He exhaled forcefully, attempting to regain his composure. Turning back to Hypnos, he asked stiffly, "What downsides?"

He had little doubt the god was telling the truth. Manipulation was clearly in his repertoire, but so far out-and-out lies seemed to be something else all together.

"Alright, love." The nurse's voice was taking a softer tone, "You'll be fine now, we've got you here."  She wouldn't make any promises about the girl's brothers, it wasn't likely they had survived given the state this woman was in.  "You just need to rest, the doctor will be where soon to patch you up.  Until then,"  The nurse was collecting an IV kit and slipping the gloves over her hands.  "We're going to set you up with some antibiotics and a little bit of pain reliever, alright?"  It wasn't really a question as the nurse was already taking the girls hand and searching for a veins.

Ashley couldn't help but stare at Hypnos as he admitted to having been with Mac.  And Eli was there?  This couldn't be good, she'd glance to Chase before shaking her head.  "The god was with Mac and Eli; they're both in on this trip now trying to keep us out of it.  Apparently the god has a friend there, I can't imagine what that even means."  Hypnos was mentioning about offering Mac to be an Oracle, she'd heard the word before, but couldn't quite place what it meant.  "What did she say?"  She'd ask Hypnos directly, inserting herself in their conversation.  "Did she accept it?"

Eli was not wrong that Mackenzie wouldn't wait for either him or the angel, once she saw the being headed for Eli's car she started out on the remainder of their drive.  It wasn't far from the junkyard to the small city, and within she would remain on the main street a short ways before pulling into a strip mall.

Chase wasn't a fan of the thought of someone being given a boon by the pagan god, personally Chase had more than enough supernatural in his life but that was just him. The man stopped leaning on his right foot and started on his left. "I take it we aren't staying out of it just because they want us to?" At least that was the vibe he got from the situation at hand. They didn't seem like the most stable or organized group to him, but who was he to judge? "By the way he's talking she either turned him down or decided to sleep on it."

He climbed up into the truck and closed the door and got comfortable in the seat.  "Honestly, if it wasn't a god making this request, I'd have continued on my merry way to Vitae," he says.  "But one thing you learn, no matter if they aren't your god, you don't want to anger them, no matter what," he says nonchalantly as he watches Eli drive.  "So from what I can understand, she tried taking off on her own and you're refusing to let her?" he asks.  "I mean, I only caught part of your conversation with her back there," he finishes.

Aurora whined slightly as she laid back down, but she said nothing.  She knew that the nurse knew just as well as she did, there's no way her brothers survived.  She watched out any window she saw as the nurse took care of her, tears streaming down the sides of her face silently.

Hypnos couldn't help but chuckle when Chase said she probably wanted to sleep on it. " Our friendly Lupus is correct, Mackenzie asked that she be given time to think about it. Apparently she has quite a lot on her plate today.", Hypnos said shrugging, " As for the downsides it can range based on which God you are an Oracle to, but there are some common threads. When receiving a vision she'll experience headaches and during those visions she releases a.... think of it as a supernatural pheromone. Part of my power is released and any supernatural being in the area is put into a trance like state and drawn to protect her. " Hypnos leaned against the couch looking the group over, "In other news I have a lead on my wife that I'd like some help with. She's being held by some sort of conglomerate a few states away. I think you call it new york or something. Anyway it's been heavily warded against.... pretty much anything, so I can go too close and asking my brother for help is a bit.... too much. I want my wife back, but there's no reason the humans have to get hurt."

William raised a hand to stop Hypnos before he went any further. "I'd like to help your wife, Hypnos, but... we need to track them down before they get in over their heads. After all of--" he swept his arm in an all-encompassing gesture, "...this is over, we'll do everything we can to track her down and free her." Hendrix was taking on diplomatic tact to avoid any unnecessary conflict, which they could scarcely afford at the moment. They had this crisis to resolve before the Wolves--

He froze. "What did you just call Chase?" he asked Hypnos with a frown.

Elijah wasted no time in setting out after Mac. This truck of William's was really being put through its paces the last few days. He turned to nod to the angel. "Yes. She is under the misguided notion that it's preferable she take all the risk all the time... and my friends and I have a vested interest in sharing the burden as best we can."

IV inserted the nurse would be starting the drips she'd mentioned before, bandaging up the IV to keep it from moving or getting wrapped around anything.  "Alright dear, you'll start to feel better soon."  She promised knowing that the pain relievers typically made people drowsy and fall asleep.  "The doctor will be here soon and get you fixed up."

Ashley frowned to Chase as he stated Mackenzie had decided to wait, clearly the man didn't know Mac's impulsiveness, but he'd been correct.  As Hypnos continued she'd slowly shake her head.  "Will, he's stalling.  We need to get going while we still know where she is."  Ash was turning to leave when William questioned the pagan god, she'd glance back confused, having missed the term.

Mackenzie lead Eli and the "guardian" angel a short distance from the junkyard, the town near by was considerably larger than Vitae and already busy for this time during the day.  Mac idly wondered if there was some American holiday she was unaware of, but the thought past she when they arrived at their first destination; a strip mall.  Pulling into the parking lot she'd park a fair distance from the door, having not much else of a choice.  Turning off the ignition she'd reach beneath the seat and search for her and Ashley's stash: a bundle of bills within a ziploc bag tapped to the bottom of the seat.  It was their emergency money, for when they needed to do something that might warrant the police involvement.  Mac knew enough that the items she needed to buy might be left behind, and if they could be linked to a credit card?  Well it would be just one more thing to add to the warrant for her arrest.

Dayne Matthews

Dayne had received his strongest vision yet, it was extremely vivid and clear. It showed the colony being butchered but he was not able to see what or who done it.

There was bodies and blood everywhere. He was trembling as he was by the gate where he had first arrived, the gate looked ripped open, the smell of blood and smoke

clouded his senses. The slaughter appeared to be total. He could feel claws rip down his back when he came too, Shivering and sweating.

His eyes were wide with paranoia, he did not know when his vision would come to be, if it would at all. He had found himself a place to hide and barricaded himself inside.

As these things went, word had spread around the colony of the "new guy" holing himself up and all but refusing to speak with anyone, his terror was that strong.

Unkown to Dayne, his terror only amplified his lure, a defensive move to keep him safe, and his fear for his safety made this lure more potent. He sat huddled in a corner, curled up to hide himself and make himself seem smaller as if he could hide away from the grim future his vision had showed him.

Alaric blinked and nodded knowingly.  "There tends to be someone like that in just about every human Hunter group I've come across.  I don't understand it.  Do they have death wishes?" he asks him curiously as he watched the girls car pull into the parking lot.  Once they were parked he wouldn't hesitate on getting out, human vehicles made him uneasy, he much preferred to teleport around or walk on solid ground.  He rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck as he shook off his jitters and made his way to Mackenzie's car, then opened the door and bowed sweeping his arm in a gentlemanly manner.  "M'lady," he says with a charming smile.

Aurora said nothing as she fell asleep once the pain killers set in.

Hypnos would only chuckle when William said he would need to put off rescuing his wife until after the Colony was safe. The deity was at his wits end with humanity and yet he could only empathize with them as was his divine role. "Lupus, Latin for wolf. I figured it was appropriate considering I've only seen him by himself sort of like a lone wolf, but I guess it was in poor taste. Anyway I understand that as a Councilman your duty is to the Colony before me and I respect that, but.... " Hypnos said lifting his hand and the screams of his wife would fill the room as well as Dayne's own ears. After a moment the haunting screams would cease for all but Hypnos who could still hear them. " If you think I'm going to just sit around and wait for those wolves to move you've got another thing coming. " With that the deity would disappear and Dayne would receive a new vision. Of people within an office building slaughtering each other in some sort of trance, and two men walking towards beside each other. Hypnos and his brother Thanatos.

s03e03_lastship_photo12.jpg

When Hypnos called him Lupus, Chase felt both anger and fear. He had hardly known the pagan god 24 hours and the deity had already played with Chase's secret. Fight or flight senses nearly kicked in as he felt drawn to elsewhere in the colony combined with the current situation. The man nearly spouted out the excuse for the nickname being that he had the lupus auto-immune disease to try and cover after Will had taken a notice at the nickname. But Hypnos had been quicker giving a rather less believable in his eyes excuse. "Poor taste, yeah." Chase had chimed in with a slightly annoyed tone. No reason to reveal your condition he said. Though the knowledge that Hypnos both had a wife and that she had been taken came as a surprise. And just like that Hypnos was gone.

"You think she'd accept his proposition to become an Oracle? And...he has a kidnapped wife?" He asked the two left standing there.

William agreed with Ashley's remark that they needed to get moving, but he didn't relax until Hypnos offered an explanation. Hendrix knew the meaning of the word of course, that's what had triggered his curiosity in the first place. The explanation for it was offered by the deity easily and without any obvious signs of deceit, though... as much as one could tell where the god was involved. His thoughts on the matter were drowned out by the sounds of a woman screaming; Will shrank back, going for his gun out of habit until the noise disappeared -- along with Hypnos -- just as quick as it had begun.

"You think she'd accept his proposition to become an Oracle? And...he has a kidnapped wife?"

Hendrix shook his head. "I don't know if she would. Hypnos... is a long story. One we can discuss later," he turned back to Ash, nodding. "We should go now."

Elijah had said nothing to the angel's question. "Death wish" seemed to oversimplify things... but it seemed apt all the same at times. He pulled the truck in alongside Mac's car at a strip mall, putting it in park. His passenger was already at Mac's side by the time Eli himself climbed out. In one suave move, the man had opened her door swept his arm low, all charm. Davenport rolled his eyes at the sight as he slammed his own door shut. This guy was going to be a real hit with William, he could tell. Approaching the sedan, he took a long look around before turning to Mackenzie. "What next, fearless leader?" he asked with a grin.

dx0HE3H.jpg

Hypnos was an ever increasing annoyance in Ashley's opinion; one they could do without.  She could understand his impatience of wanting to free his wife, the screams were horrific, but he knew nothing of what they were dealing with, nor did it seem he cared, but he was a false god after all.  At Chase's inquiry, William's answer Ash could only shake her head.  Just hearing the benefits explained briefly by the god she knew Mackenzie would like accept the offer, who wouldn't want to have that power?  To lull the supernatural to the point where they could be easily killed?  At Williams direction she'd step out of the house towards Chase's car, hoping they could catch up with Mac and Eli.

Mackenzie jumped as her car door was opened, knife produced from beneath the seat she'd turn to face the potential attacker and was greeted by the angel bowing.  "The hell..."  She'd slip the blade back into it's sheath hidden and grabbed her cash instead.  "You'll get yourself shot doing that crap to hunters." She'd mutter sliding from the car and pulling the door away from the angel and closing it.   Eli was approaching with more sarcasm she could do with out.  She'd split the bills and hand him some before pointing towards a thrift shop.  "Silver everything, spoons, jewelry, tea pots.  Anything that is real silver, I assume you can tell the difference, and take him."  She'd not towards Alaric.  "I'm off to the hobby shop." Sounded odd, but there was always purpose.

s03e03_lastship_photo12.jpg

If the place Hypnos's wife was being held at was able to bar even the deity himself it meant that he was at the mercy of those he requested aid from to save his wife. Chase understood the current dire problem with the wolves, but to wait so long...who was to say his wife would even live that long or if they'd live to help afterwards. Then again he didn't know the full story so for now he shoved it to the back of his mind.

At the request to leave Chase followed the pair back out to the vehicle, going around to the drivers seat. The man paused momentarily when he reached for the door handle and turning his head to look further into the colony in a slight daze, some sort of need to check on something. When the passenger door slammed as the other two got in and this jarred Chase back into the moment, finally opening the door and getting inside. "Hope you know where we are going." He told Ash, as he pulled out and headed for the gate. Assuming the woman had already figured out the shortest route to the motel. For some reason he wanted to get this over and done with and return to the colony ASAP.

"So without knowing the exact circumstances....do I need my gun handy?" Chase asked with a quick glance over his shoulder at the both of them as he drove. He'd have it handy anyways, but this was more of a question to gauge what he was getting into and how ready he needed to be. They should be just chasing down the other two who have just skipped out to do something on their own, that much he understood. However he didn't understand if this was going to turn into any sort of altercation or whether or not the supernatural was involved. The wolves had an interest in the girl, that much he'd decided on when Ponytail had asked. Otherwise he had no idea what these people were caught up in.

Once Hypnos disappeared from the house in the human world he reappeared in his own home within Erebos. Slouching down in his throne Hypnos pinched the bridge of his nose and tears began to fall from his face. It was all too much, his wife, the humans, all of it. He wanted so much just to storm into that building and rescue his wife, but.... what about all the humans who would worked there? They had their wives and families. As much as he wanted to rescue his love its not like he could just take her back. It was then that he heard the voice of his brother Thanatos.

"Dear brother.... what has gotten you in such a sorry state?" Thanatos asked as he materialized in front of his brother. Thanatos couldn't help but be concerned as there had been very few times if at all he had seen his brother in such a state. Placing his hand on his brother's shoulder Thanatos asked, " What happened?" It would only take a moment for Hypnos to explain the deal he had made with the human Colony in exchange for securing their settlement. A look of pity settled on Death's usually emotionless face. " This is why I warned you about those humans. Nothing more than selfish creations who only think of how to benefit themselves. It's no surprise they backed out of their deal with you. "

Hypnos stifled his tears and looked up at his brother, " I don't know what to do Brother.... maybe I should just take care of the wolves for them so they can help."

At this point Thanatos interjected, " No brother, if they can't be bothered to send anyone to hold up their end of the deal there's no point in helping them. You and eye will take care of it tonight... alright? She'll be back in your arms before the night ends.... then we'll deal with that Colony."

"Thanatos don't do anything to the Colony." Hypnos said suddenly almost like a plea. The last thing he wanted was the Colony to be harmed.  "It's not their fault they've got a lot going on!"

Thanatos could only sigh, " Very well Hypnos.... but if something has happened to Pasithea... " Hypnos had nothing to say to that and could only sit in silence grasping his head. " I want to see this colony yours so intent on protecting." With that Thanatos pulled a disappearing act of his own and appeared in the middle of the Colony.

Thanatos scoffed, " This is what your protecting brother? I'll never understand why you love them so." The pale horseman released his own divine power. It would alert any supernatural being in the Colony as well Hypnos' Oracle. " Truly.... a wasted effort."

aa728589-a75b-4216-a210-66fde6cbd293_zpsqlcdxhls.png

He chuckled at her comment about him getting shot.  "I'm a Fallen Angel, it won't do much good for whoever tries to shoot me to bother," he remarks, then blinks when she says for him to go with Elijah.  "No can do, Hypnos requested that I stick with you, and that's exactly what I intend to do," he says following after her.  He was also prepared if she attempted to retaliate in any way, since it wouldn't really do her any good.  He glanced back at Elijah with a look to tell the guy that he had this.

William grunted at Chase's question, sliding his jacket back to reveal the pistol holstered at his side. "Definitely." He paused, knowing that it was better for all of them if he elaborated now before Chase got any deeper in the situation. "To clarify, it's not Mac we're worried about. The reason she left... we had a plan. She wanted to capture a werewolf -- alive -- and bring it back to the Colony. Interrogate it if we could, but mainly she was hoping to use it to intimidate the Council into cooperation for their own good," he said flatly. He knew how reckless the plan sounded without context, but Chase needed to know the details. "She's was supposed to go with me today to get materials to build a specialized silver trap for immobilizing Wolves. She bolted this morning while I was at a Council meeting," he shrugged. "...And now Elijah is with her and dodging my calls. I think the two of them plan to capture it alone, with all the risks that involves. With Hypnos in the mix now..." his voice trailed off as he shook his head and turned to stare out the window of the Toyota.

Elijah gave a Mackenzie a half-playful glare when she remarked on his ability to determine pure silver from the garbage pawn shops often peddled. The fact that she "volunteered" him to escort their new traveling companion didn't help matters, though he was willing to go along with it. Less so than the angel itself, at any rate. At Alaric's refusal and subsequent glance toward Elijah, Davenport's mouth formed a thin line. He looked from Alaric to Mackenzie, silently questioning how she wanted to handle the situation. Eli wasn't under any delusions that either of them could physically force the being to do anything he didn't want, but it was the principle that mattered at this point. He wanted Mac to know that he had her back -- building her trust was obviously an ongoing process. He didn't envy William one bit.

Ashley, having taken the back seat on this trip, had the lap top open beside her, waiting to see if Mac's card would be used again so she could get a better idea of where the woman was in her plans.  She listened to William lay out his and Mac's plan; this was something Mac had described in the past, the trap at least.  She'd lean forward in her seat slightly. "To be fair, the last time she did trap a wolf for interrogation she was sixteen and did it alone." She felt like William was chastising Mackenzie, like she hadn't a clue what she was doing. "But the bolting thing is an on going trend for her.  Anything gets uncomfortable, she'll run.  I don't think she even knows that she's doing it half the time, she's been alone too long and can't think like a team."  She'd shrug, "It's about keep up on to her mostly, she doesn't have an off switch."

Mackenzie would pause, frowning as the angel corrected her on where he was going.  She'd glance to Eli, but knew there wasn't a point in arguing with him.  "It's fine.  Grab everything you can and meet me back here,"  She was already sore and hungry, she just wanted to get what they needed and move on.  Too many distractions.  She'd stride away from the parking lot towards the hobby shop as she said she would, once inside she made quick work of finding the isle she needed.  Jewelry making.  She'd slowly scan the boxes and items lined up until she found something suitable.  A miniature kiln.  With a rather smug smile she'd nod towards the box, "That one please." She'd say to Alric, at least she was being polite, but if he was going to follow her around, he was going to carry things.  For herself she'd pick up tongs, heat resistant gloves, propane tanks and a crucible; no need for a mold as she'd found Douglas's in a crate in the car.

With a bored sigh Thanatos looked around the Colony for some sort of leader or perhaps a council of them. Humans do so love their democracy. Thanatos walked around the Colony looking for a man by the name of Brendan. Hypnos had told him that his brother had brokered with the man so that man was the one he was going to hold responsible.

Thanatos tapped his cane on the ground and a pulse of his power reverberated through the Colony stopping on the wards his brother had placed. The pulse was a sort of life sense that gave him a view of every soul in the Colony. After that it only took a moment after that to find the mortal called Brendan.

Walking up ever so casually the pale rider stood there for a moment looking at the man, wondering how his brother could allow himself to be so bent out of shape over them. " You are Brendan correct? I believe my brother has an arrangement with you?"
