William would find he was not the only one whom had arrived early, upon stepping through the tent's opening he would find Maxwell, Anna and Brendan already there conversing off to the side, other members of the council were also present, either seated at the table or, like Brendan, speaking to their assistants.  Brendan would glance towards the entryway as someone arrived and would smile at William in greeting, waving the man to join them.

Ashley had arrived at the clinic on time, which was not really difficult to do considering they shared a front lawn.  Inside the head nurse, the same that had been taking care of Mackenzie the first night, was there and updated Ashley that she would be waiting a while; the doctor who was leading this mornings meet and greet was running behind; apparently doctors in the colony were no different then those elsewhere.

With William gone, and clearly accepting her lie, she set to work; first packing up the parts for the trap, she wasn't going to be able to build it here, and move forward with what needed to be done.  They would be returned to the bed of her car.  She'd do a quick check: keys, silver blades; the gun would be pointless for the actual plan, great back up in remote area's but she couldn't use it in dense population, too much attention.  She was moving to the driver's side of her car and glancing within.  Blood.  How had she forgotten this?  She certainly could not drive around a busy city with her car like this.  Annoyed she'd return to the house, searching for cleaning supplies and spare blankets to cover the bloody front seat.

William nodded to Brendan and the others. "Morning," he said, his tone polite if a little stiff. He still felt ill-adjusted to his new position. Hendrix entered, slowly approaching the table but not taking a seat; he wasn't sure about the decorum of the meeting and whether seats were assigned. There was no telling in cliques like this... in many ways it reminded him of meeting and negotiating with village elders in Afghanistan. He sidled up to Maxwell, speaking barely above a whisper, "Which one is Diffey?"

Elijah had just finished washing up and dressing, making his way to the kitchen for breakfast. He stopped with a quizzical frown on his face upon seeing Mac rummaging through the cabinets. His eyes took a moment to range across the living room -- the parts for the trap were gone. Ash was nowhere in sight and he knew William had already left. Confused, he cleared his throat to make his presence known.

"Good Morning, William." Brendan would continue smiling, clearly the morning person.  "Maxwell has filled me in on what you two discussed last night, I knew you would be a great fit for this."  He'd pat William on the shoulder, leading him towards the large table at the center of the tent.  "Max has those files copied for you for when you leave: town map, Officials roster as well as my Hunters list."  He was taking a seat at the table, there were only enough for the actual Council Members to sit, if their assistance were remaining for the meeting, which most were, they would stand behind.  "Have you decided on an assistant?  If not I would really recommend one, and soon.  Once it's out that you're on the Council, you'll become a very busy man."

Mackenzie turned at the noise behind her, surprised by Eli's presence she'd blink.  Why hadn't she accounted for him being here?  "Morning," She'd play the same smile she'd given William to Eli, "Thought you were still in bed."  She'd hold up the rags she'd managed to find and household cleaners.  "Going to work on my baby for a bit, until Will comes back."  Perfectly reasonable explanation.

Will nodded. "I have," he said, taking a seat at the table. His tone was confident, straightforward. Professional. He would lock eyes with Brendan as he spoke. "I asked Mackenzie and she accepted."

Elijah cocked his head. "I see," he remarked. It seemed rational enough; she'd want to depart as soon as possible after Will arrived. Still, something nagged at him that he couldn't quite place. "And you packed the materials for the trap as well?"

Brendan's smile would fade almost entirely as he heard Williams proclamation.  "Mackenzie?  Canonach?"  William would find that several people around the table had fallen silent, clearly the had been eavesdropping on the new comer.  "Well then," Brendan would continued.  "It seems you two certainly are close."  His smile would return rather hesitantly, "Uh, well, to warn you, you won't be winning any popularity contests any time soon, she is not liked among the Council; it took me three days to convince them to even let her within the Colony."  At this he made sour face.  "She does not typically work well with others."

He'd shake his head, moving on.  "Well Maxwell completed what you asked him to do last night, despite protest from some residents, the walk ways are now barricaded, and a team is already pushing back the vegetation around the walls, not just where you mentioned, but anything that has come too close, we've been negligent.  Was there anything you needed ordered?"

Mackenzie would nod as Eli mentioned the trap parts, "Taking them down to the smithy, I want to see if they can make any of parts we need easily; so if this comes up again I won't have to go digging through a scrap yard."  Again, this had been her plan from the start, if she could get two or three versions of the parts made and stored then building one in the future wouldn't take any effort.  With the items she did manage to get before Eli interrupted her, she started towards the door but would pause, "Are you making breakfast?  Can you put some coffee on?"  She didn't like deceiving Eli, or lying to Will; she hadn't even said anything to Ashley, the girl would have known just by the sound of her voice.

Alex watched the sky grow brighter and brighter. After a bit, she had to put her sunglasses and hood on. She scowled at the sun before climbing off the roof. She sighed before wandering around the town, looking for a distraction. It was funny how bored she got lately. There was no one she knew, and no hunts going on. However, she had a feeling that her boredom was going to be dissipated.

Looking around, she found a cafe and sat down to people watch. She ordered a tea and sipped at it while she watched the town wake up.

Will held eye contact with Brendan as the man spoke. "I understand your concerns," Will said, his tone diplomatic. "But she knows more about the threat than anyone else in the Colony. I trust her judgement."

"As far as preparations go, I'd like to do an inventory of the armory; if you have any night vision or thermal optics stocked or you can source them soon, they'll come in handy." He was glad to hear that they had moved quickly to address vulnerabilities.

"Primarily, though, I'm concerned about the refugees outside. I've heard that there are plans to relocate those that can't be moved inside. Whatever we do, it needs to be done before the wolves arrive, or else our other measures won't amount to much.

Will idly drummed his fingers on the table as he spoke. "I'd also like to sort through any of the people outside that we may have missed that have useful experience: medics, ex-military, veteran Hunters, that sort of thing. Offer them a chance to stay and help in exchange for expedited entry to Vitae." He paused to assess the faces of those in the room.

Elijah nodded, dispelling any paranoia. Mac's explanation seemed sensible enough. "Sure thing." He moved to the counter to begin preparing the pot; making coffee one thing he'd learned to do well in the kitchen.

Brendan would nod, he'd expected no less from William; if he choose Mackenzie as his assistant then they would both make the Council see reason.  "The armory is kept in the Police station, under lock and key, I don't know the specifics but there is riot gear, enough for the force that we did have."  Maxwell had been listening, and came forward at the mention of the station, from a ring of keys attached to his belt, presumably keys for the various civil buildings around Vitae, he would disengage a small ring containing less than a dozen rings and provide them to William.

"There are lists of every weapon available in our cache there, as well as what the hunters have, though good luck getting them to part with any.  See the secretary after the meeting, she'll give you any order forms you need to get your supplies." Brendan's attention was drawn as more Council members were arriving and taking their seats.

Mackenzie was satisfied she had managed to throw Eli off of her trail, the last thing she needed was him doing something foolish like following her.  "Thanks." She turned and headed out to her car, climbing in the front seat.  She rearranged the sheet that had been put there to cover what she could before setting to cleaning off the dash and steering wheel.  How William had managed to drive in this was rather impressive.

Once she felt she'd removed enough she'd  the engine on.  The beast would rumble in protest; it had sat for two days now, but finally it roared to life.  She'd missed her car, small smile spreading across her lips she'd shift it into neutral and let it roll back out of the drive way.  She would drive, but away from the main gate, headed further into town first; at least if Eli was watching it would confirm she was going to  smithy.  But she'd bypass it and instead head for the main gate.

As dawn broke and his power over everyone wanted Hypnos watched the awkwardness between Mackenzie and William and couldn't help but chuckle to himself. However his amusement was short lived as Mackenzie did something... unexpected. She played it off as if nothing happened last night. Hypnos figured she had her reasons, but he was dreadfully curious on her choice of action. Well he figured another night of shared dreams, maybe 2 or 3 more and those two should be bonded enough.  Then there was the issue of Ashley and Elijah. Hypnos couldn't see any romance blooming there, but his objective didn't different. He could feel that this lot was the key to getting his wife back.

No sooner than he thought that he heard something in the distance. Something only he and other supernatural beings could hear. A scream... It was faint, carried on the winds like a message but it was there. His wife was screaming and in pain. The deity was overcome he needed to do something but he was limited during the day. He knew that if he gave himself a physical form it would only weaken him further, but he needed to communicate with someone one. Then he noticed Mackenzie driving for what seemed like the blacksmith before rerouting to the main gate. If anyone would understand and help him it was probably her.

Hypnos flew into Mackenzie's car and would wait until she was outside of the Colony before manifesting a physical form beside her. " I need your help." Were the only words he would say as he sat there.

Clear of the main gates Mackenzie hadn't travelled far when there was a voice beside her, in her car!

"I need your help."

She slammed on her breaks car skidding and fishtailing to a stop before she would turn an angry glare at her deity.  "What the hell is wrong with you?"  She was looking in the rear view hoping that there were no witnesses to her car's loss of control.  She quickly shifted her baby back into gear and continued down the road.

"You need me?" She'd scoff but continued. "You abandoned me in William's dreams.  You left me in there.   I saw...." She'd trail off changing the topic.  "I'm on a schedule, what is it?"  There were things she needed to complete before nightfall and the gods errand was not on among them.

Unfortunately for Mackenzie the frantic driving was not missed by the gate guard Bart, once the car started on it's way again he was sending a message to Maxwell's phone; alerting him of the odd behaviour.

Chase's adventure to find food led him to a small cafe, one where he could smell scrambled eggs wafting out of....as well as the hint of decay of a particular vampire. One whom he was meant to be tasked in returning a phone to, disdainfully. Spotting her sitting in the outside portion wasn't difficult, but he didn't stop as he entered the cafe. Luckily nobody was in line so he was quick to order his bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. Minutes later the food was in his hand as he exited the cafe and stepping up to the table the vampire was seated at. Chase dropped the phone carefully on the table before taking a seat without invitation, "You check out." He spoke bluntly, before taking a large bite out the sandwich. He was hungry, and if he was going to be honest he suspected he'd have to go out and hunt for an animal to eat it's heart sooner than expected. Chase was meant to have a few more days but with the healing it probably sped up the process of needing to feed.

Absent-minded he pulled out his own phone with the hand not currently holding the food, checking to see if William had returned his text. No dice. Chase frowned, maybe the other man wasn't awake yet. Seemed he had time to kill, not that he knew what to do with it currently. "To be clear, you did kill the other one last night, right?" With the amount of blood she had on her last night and the lack of wounds he suspected as much but he wanted confirmation. Sure, it was one less wolf to worry about but a dead scout wouldn't go well with whatever pack they were from. If there was indeed an alliance that pack in particular, depending on the alpha, would probably want some sort of atonement. Chase was also not being direct with his words, as you never knew who could be listening.

William took the keys from Maxwell with a grateful nod. "Understood." He looked around to see more Council members -- most of them unfamiliar -- entering to take their seats. He suddenly felt rather out of place. He hoped this wouldn't take long, but was willing to stick it out. His phone buzzed insistently in his pocket and he discreetly took a chance to check it while the Council was assembling. A missed message from Chase: Need to meet, last nights expedition revealed some information. When should I swing by?

It clicked in Will's head. With everything that had happened, he'd nearly forgotten about Chase's voluntary mission. Anything he might have found would be useful as far as Hendrix was concerned, but he might not be around to hear it himself. Time to delegate, then. He quickly typed a reply: ASAP. See Eli.

The Council members were slowly coming to order, and when the room quieted enough a man at the head of the table would rise.  Silence would fall and he'd being in a droning voice.  "Good morning everyone.  As always we'll begin with the last meetings minutes."  Papers were shuffled about then handed around the table, not much information provided beyond bullet form; Brendan would pass a sheet to William and speak softly, under his breath.  "People with too much time on their hands spent doing useless things."  The man at the head started recounting the items from the list.  Review of the meeting the night before; information provided by Brendan was not well received. Pagan God made himself known and threatened the Colony. Vote on new Council member; majority agreed. Pagan God had brought a 'plan' to Brendan and asst; to be discussed today.  Beyond this the list was rather tedious, voting on where to purchase supplies from, if they should change brands etc etc.

Brendan, for the most part, was sitting quietly, though he'd occasionally lean back and speak to either Anna or Maxwell as something popped into his head. Eventually the lead council member would rest the paper and continue.  "Beginning today's meeting we'll begin with welcoming our newest Council Member, William Hendrix."  The members would turn to face him, giving a light clap as the lead would continue.  "Everyone well have to introduce themselves to William after the meeting today, but for those that don't recall he's taken over part of Brendan's duties, mainly defense and security." There were a few murmurs and nods as the lead council member spoke.

During this time Maxwell was receiving his text from Bart and coming forward to hand his phone to Brendan to read, who would then frown.  Pen to paper he'd write briskly, then slide the note to William.  -Mac left. Driving erratically. Left alone, outside the walls either picked someone up, or someone joined her in the car. If you can't get her here for the meeting DO NOT mention her name.-

The Lead Council Member was continuing.  "William, if you will, give us a little about yourself, well what you're willing, we do know your a Hunter by trade."  This brought a light chuckle from the council members seated though Brendan was very close to glaring at him.

William had been sitting idly, listening to the frankly monotonous droning from the head Councilman. He didn't quite tune the man out -- he owed this Council that much -- but part of him wanted to do just that. Then Brendan slid the note to him. His eyes flicked down to surreptitiously read the text.

For a brief few moments, he was confused. What the hell was she up to? Suddenly he heard her voice in the back of his mind: I might have got us both killed... I'm sorry. Instantly, he understood. She didn't have any intention of letting him or anyone else back her up on her plan. She was going alone, out of some misguided sense of protectiveness. Pain flared up in his hands as he suddenly realized that both of them were gripping the edge of the table with every ounce of adrenaline-fueled strength his subconscious mind could muster. His heart was thumping, pushing the adrenaline through his veins. He became suddenly aware that the head Councilman was addressing him as he stared down at the note, as if it the words printed on it held the secret to saving Mackenzie from herself.

He was moments away from shooting out of his chair and making a dash for his truck -- forgetting the meeting, the Council, all of it. Getting to Mac was all he could think about. Someone was with her. Who, though? Elijah wouldn't go behind his back -- not on this. Ash? No way Mac would put her in danger. It didn't matter, he needed to go now.

...But Brendan had a point. Mac was already on thin ice, as was he. Their future -- and that of the Colony -- depended on how he handled the next few minutes. Slowly, he took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. William turned to the Councilman, wearing a calm and composed smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "Sure," he said, somewhat stiffly. "I grew up in Georgia. Spent most of my adult life in the Army -- Rangers and Special Forces. I got into hunting a few years ago." As he spoke, his right hand, hidden out of sight under the table, tapped away a simple message to Elijah: Mac bolted. Go

Elijah was resting on the counter, coffee mug in-hand when the phone in his pocket buzzed. He frowned, fishing the device out with his left hand and checking the text. The mug in his hand dropped to the floor, shattering and spilling the brown liquid across the tile. He ignored it, dashing to the bedroom to gather his bag and the katana in its sheath before darting out the back door and to the truck, piling the gear inside before firing it up and speeding as fast as he dared toward the front gate.

The council members were listening, some more intently than others, as William described himself, gave a little back story for them to understand him better, for the most part the cell phone had gone unnoticed, however he certainly would not be the only member there texting or browsing a device.  When it seemed as though he was done the lead would smile appreciatively and nod.  "Well thank you, William, and welcome, we're certainly happy to have you on board."  Again the members seated around the table would nod and clap lightly until the lead regained control and quiet resumed.  "Continuing on with our agenda this morning, we have a few notes to speak on before we open the table for any new votes or additions...."

William's reaction to his note had not gone unnoticed, Brendan had waited with a smile pasted to his face as William spoke, and when he returned to his seat Brendan would lean towards him and speak softly.  "What the hell is going on?"  He wouldn't let any emotion rise to his face, most of being part of the council was having a decent poker face.  "Do not make me regret fighting to get you in this position, what ever she's doing, good or bad, you keep your nose out of it."  Brendan had been the one to suggest getting another council member with more expertise to handle security and defense, it had taken him months to finally get the council to see it his way, and really it was the attack at Alliance that made them vote in his favor.

"Hypnos?"  Mackenzie would glance towards her patron god in the seat next to her, only to see him fade in and out of reality, she'd frown slightly.  Something's wrong with him.  But really what was she going to do to help him?   She'd slowly shake her head and return focus on the task as hand, knowing the god would return when he could.  An hour of driving brought her to the closets city, or rather the outskirts where the junk yard was where she'd order parts from and to.  Pulling up to the main building she'd turn off her car and climb out, stretching.  Her back was already getting stiff from sitting upwards, but she'd have to work through the pain, there wasn't another choice.  An older man was exiting the building heading towards her and she'd offer a polite smile.  "Hi, I'm Mac, I ordered a few things."

The man approaching would offer the car and her an appreciative once over before nodding. "Yea I've got it, you need help, miss?"

Her polite smile never left her face, but she'd slowly shake her head, "No, I've got this, just point me in the right direction."  Something about his offer of help sounded...creepy, and she wasn't in the mood to layout a backwater hick for being pushy with her.  "Afterwards you mind if I wander the yard?  Looking for some parts for another project."

The man gave a frown at her answer, but he'd nod and wave her along.  "This way then."  He'd turn and lead her.  "Sure, you go ahead and take whatever scrap you want here, we'll work out a price afterwards."  He'd lead her to work space area, looked like where he was breaking down cars for part, not her business, but off to the side were a few bundled packages and long bolt of soft leather, still wrapped in plastic.  She didn't need directions from him, so she collected what she could carry at once and started making trips to her car's bed to load them.

Alex's nose crinkled as the scent of wet dog hit her nose. As soon as her phone hit the table, she snatched it up and stuck it in her pocket. "Of course I do. It would be stupid of me to tell a story I can't back up." She took a sip of her tea, breathing in the herbal aroma. She sighed as she placed her mug down. "I think it would be very hard to live with no head. I know how to handle myself, thank you very much." Her phone have a nearly silent ping, and she pulled it out, reading the text. "Just a heads up, Spider's pissed." She rolled her eyes and set her phone down very slowly. "So... did you tell any of my contacts?"

This wasn't good at all. It wasn't even half the time he had spent in the sun's rays yesterday and he had already lost his physical form. It was all he could do just to keep himself in the human world. He knew that taking on a human form would be too taxing. With a brief shaking of his nonexistent head at himself and would simply follow Mackenzie around and wait until he could gather enough power to appear before her again.

Hypnos would make due by communicating with Mackenzie through a sort of telepathy. " I showed you what you needed to see. No more no less. Just as I didn't show him your dream. It wasn't something he needed to see. My wife.... she has been captured by humans and I can hear her screams. " Hypnos would focus a little of his power through Mackenzie so that she could hear Pasithea's screams of pain. " She suffers and I can't reach her."

If it wasn't for the fact that Chase had long figured out how to ignore someone the girls attitude might have ruined his breakfast. The man simply sat and ate with little to no reactions until he'd finished the sandwich, letting out a deep breath. "But killing him probably did more harm than good. Now some of them are going to be pissed off, but they won't take out that frustration on you. No, they've got eyes on the colony so good job." Mind you if the roles had been reversed he'd have likely done the same thing. The reason Chase hadn't killed the big guy was the same reason the big guy hadn't killed him, they were both wounded and unsure of victory. Neither was prepared to die trying, Chase had useful information and he wasn't willing to try just to prevent a scout from getting back to the packs. Chase proceeded to give a shake of his head, "Didn't say a word to none of your damn contacts."

On cue his phone gave a buzz and he pulled it out of his jeans pocket,  ASAP. See Eli.  Was the reply from William. With no destination presented he assumed the house they'd all been inside was the meeting place. Which meant he'd better start walking, "Well Sparkles, it's been fun. But I've got places to be," His tone was bored or sarcastic before turning into more of a straight faced threat, "So you do...whatever it is you do. But I hear of anyone around having a run in with a blood sucker around here and I will track you down." Chase stood and pushed his chair back under table and throwing his trash away in the nearby trashcan then turning to walk away from the cafe.

Meeting with the doctor done, she'd met with the other medics as well, and it had been a bust.  Basically the doctor had no plans to enlist anyone else, no matter what their previous history was, unless there was an emergency.  Of course the two other woman whom had gone to the meeting didn't seem to care much; one had been a school nurse, the other a receptionist at a hospital, but it wasn't good enough for Ashley.  She called him out, and it earned her a temporary position at the clinic.  Part time transcribing charts.  It was demeaning, but at least she could feel like she was doing something.

Annoyed and frustrated she'd leave the clinic with an armful of charts and head back to the house.  Immediately she noted Mackenzie's car gone.  This wasn't really surprising given she and William had their car shopping date and a smile would cross her lips, maybe today wouldn't be so bad.  At the house, however, she'd find the spilled coffee and broken mug.  "Eli?"  She'd call out, stepping further into the house to investigate, he was gone too, she could not be good.

Mackenzie was wandering the scrapyard, thick gloves in hand looking for just two pieces she needed to complete her trap when Hypnos decided to return to action and invade her mind.  She stagger, then tripped until she landing on her knees hand rising to press against the side of her head, she'd hiss a soft curse.  "I showed you what you needed to see.  No more no less.  Just as I didn't show him your dream.  It wasn't something he needed to see.  My wife....she has been captured by humans and I can hear her screams."  As though this hadn't been enough Hypnos opened her senses so she too could hear the earth-shattering scream of pain.  It was assaulting, invasive, made her chilled to the bone.

"Enough." She'd finally whisper, regaining control of her senses, dark eyes were quickly glancing about to make sure her episode went noticed.  This was twice in one day her god had done this to her, and she was not appreciating it.  "What am I supposed to do?  Where is she?"  Climbing back to her feet she'd slowly continue her way among the junk piles, his presence would not impede her mission.

Hypnos would wait until she was safely in her car before giving her another vision or a day dream of the office building where he had a hard time entering. He would feed her as much information about about its floor plans as he could before giving her the city and state that the office was located in.

"It is the one place on the earth that I find very hard to enter. It seems they've warded the building against me somehow."

William composure was already strained under the circumstances, listening to the Council's monotonous back-and-forth while his mind whirled. His poker face held, but barely. Brendan's covert scolding didn't help matters and Will didn't have the inclination to indulge the man's thinly-veiled threats -- even he had limits. He turned to face the older man, his steely gray eyes fixing him with a cold, dispassionate glare. Slowly, Hendrix leaned in, wanting to keep this conversation between them. When he spoke his tone, was low but sharp all the same. "I'm not one of your constituents, Brendan. I appreciate the help you've given us since we arrive... but there are things that I value more than keeping this job. My obligation is to the people here, not your reputation. You would do well to keep that in mind."

William turned back to the rest of the table as if nothing had happened. He knew that he should have been more diplomatic, that it was a mistake engaging the hand that feeds like that. His "obligation to the people" of the Colony was a smokescreen, admittedly. There was only one person he felt keeping safe right now. And while the image of her standing on that riverbank floated in his mind, he was stuck. Here. Listening to bureaucrats.

His grip on the table tightened again. He could only hope Elijah was close behind her.

Davenport fiddled with the truck's GPS with increasing frustration. He'd stopped at the gate to speak briefly to Bart about what he'd seen during Mackenzie's hurried exit, which left him with more questions than answers. He had a guess about who the mystery passenger might be, but it was irrelevant now. First, he needed to find them. As he made his way down the backroads from the Colony, he was searching the GPS for nearby parts shops or junkyards. He was taking a gamble in assuming that Mac had been truthful about that much, at least. He picked the closest one from the list, setting it as his destination before putting the pedal down and feeling the truck lurch with the increase in acceleration.

Somewhere in the back of his mind, he mused to himself: How is it that I'm the one going after Will's damsel in distress? With a rueful shake of his head, he pushed the truck's engine even further and settled in for the ride.

Brendan sat in silence as he listened to Williams scornful repeal of his help to this position he'd just been inaugurated within.  Everyone eventually showed their true colors, but this was insanely fast.  He would turn back to the on going meeting, the lead finally coming to something of interest; the plan Hypnos had laid out before him the night before.

"Now I do believe Elder Brendan has something to share with us, from the god Hypnos."  He lead councilmen would sit and Brendan would rise and begin.  "Hypnos has promised us a great deal, as we all know." The men and women around the table murmured to varying degrees of acceptance and denial, but Brendan would continue.  "It seems the god has an plan to handle the Pack the night of the attack.  He had told me that he had the power to render the entire pack unconscious and keep the colony from safety."  More speaking, this did not stop Brendan.  "We owe it to him to trust in his powers, to help him find his wife as he has asked of us, and in turn he will allow us to settle the pack once and for all."

Someone from the table was speaking up, and older woman with graying hair. "What's the catch, Brendan."  She'd sneer, "There is always a catch with you,"

Brendan didn't seem to take offense to his, a pleasant smile coming to his features.  'He has asked us to pray to him, the colony, to deliver him the power he will need to do this.  Once they are put into a dream state, select few will then go and dispatch them outside our very walls."

The woman didn't seem at all convinced, "Why a select few?  Why not have all of us waiting with silver blades to do the deed?"  Her eyes narrowed.

That smile that Brendan wore now faded and he'd glance around the table, he certainly couldn't lie about this next part. "The ability he will use will put many of us to sleep as well, but...."  The council was roaring to life, others standing to shout at him, denying his plan and Hypnos'.  They would not stand for it.

The lead Councilmen was rising from his seat raising his hands and calling silence on the group.  "Enough, we are not children fighting over toys, we are adult conducting a meeting."  When the council calmed enough he'd continue.  "We have heard from Brendan,"  He would hold a hand to William. "Council member Hendrix, do you have anything to add? Or share?  Perhaps a plan of your own?"

Ashley would drop the charts on the kitchen table, leaving the front door open, and go about cleaning up the mess left behind.  It bothered her that obviously Eli left in a hurry, she could only hope that he was okay, and that it didn't involve William and Mackenzie's shopping trip.  She knew Mac would be safe at hand with William by her side so once the broken mug and coffee was cleaned up, she'd take her charts to sit on the from porch and do her remedial work in the morning sun light.

Mackenzie found what she needed, they weren't ideal but she could fashion it to work for what she needed.  She'd pay the creepy junkyard owner before climbing back into her car.  Almost immediately she was hit with Hypnos' vision, eyes shut head resting against the back of her seat she would see what he intended. The office building, floor plans, city and state all relayed in a less than pleasant way.  It made her feel sick, dizzy, like being spun around too quickly.  Freed from the vision she'd up bolt, shove the car door open and wretch onto the dirt road.  "It is the one place on the earth that I find very hard to enter.  It seems they've warded the building against me somehow."

She'd spit into the dirt, wiping her lips with the back of her hand she'd sit up then fall back onto the bench of her car, feet still firmly planted on the ground outside.  The position was painful for her back, but it seemed the only way to stop the world from spinning around her.  "If a god can't step foot inside, what am I supposed to do about it?"  She felt for him, it was likely the first time in his existence he felt powerless, but she was a mortal, an injured one at that.  "And it's too far for me to travel, at least not yet.  We're talking days of travel, then figuring out how to get a god's wife free...." She'd pause. "Can they kill her?"

William was silent until the Councilman addressed him. The talk of Hypnos' plan had brought some life back to his eyes; this was crucial, even with Mac's disappearance. "I've discussed the god's plan with him as well as several others," he hesitated, hoping to find the right way to frame the words, "It's certainly worth consideration. If it works as promised, we're looking at minimal casualties and a decisive blow against the Pack. They'd likely never threaten another Colony again." He sighed. "The catch, of course, is as Brendan said. We'd be voluntarily giving him power through our prayers, which in turn would render the majority of our defenders unconscious... defenseless. We'd have to have total trust in Hypnos -- and those left awake."

Hendrix leaned back in his seat, maintaining his same professional tone. "I've been working on a plan of my own," he began. Will chose to refrain from mentioning Mac for the time being. The Council was already on edge as it was, which also threw any mention of vampires out the window. "With Maxwell and Brendan's help, we've already begun making improvements on the Colony's more... conventional defenses. It's critical that we continue the scheduled training program in earnest for every able-bodied resident so that they can lend a hand in the defense when the time comes. I'd also like to make sure that we're doing everything we can to move those refugees outside to safety, along with their vehicles and belongings, while making sure that anyone among them with useful experience is brought into the fold. We need all the help we can get, and on that end I'm in the beginning stages of contact with a group of Hunters up North. I can't make any definitive promises as to their support at the moment, however."

Will leaned in, now, his voice taking a very serious edge. "My plan is more conservative than the god's, I'll admit. We use our knowledge to stack the deck in our favor and bleed them when they arrive -- make the siege too costly for them to sustain. We have an advantage Alliance and Boresit never did: we know they're coming." He paused, looking around the table at the faces of the other Council members. "Make no mistake. My plan isn't as 'clean'. The chances of us losing people are very high. It's going to be a slugfest and it's going to get bloody. If you trust Hypnos at his word, I'll accept your judgement. If not... this is the way," he said, no hint of bias in his voice.

Elijah had been driving for over an hour, the first junkyard he had checked had proven to be a bust. He'd nearly expected the owner to send for Sheriff's Deputies after their "conversation", the man having caught Davenport peeking through the fence at the edge of the yard. After that, Eli had beat a hasty retreat. He hoped to have more luck at the next potential site, at the outskirts of the city.

Slowing the truck down to pull into the driveway, his eyes were scanning the exterior when he caught sight of it. No mistaking that old Ford. Eli pulled the truck forward, all but blocking the driveway. He didn't want Mac bolting a second time, though he didn't put it past her to ram it if it came to that. With a deep breath, he put the truck in park and removed the keys from the ignition, pushing the door open and sliding out quickly before making his way toward the old sedan. He could see Mac at the rear of the car, laying back on the bench. No sign of anyone else, but she looked exhausted.  He shook his head as he approached, calling out, "You really are not the easiest roomie I've dealt with in my time."

The Council would listen to William seemingly approve of the plan Brendan had just laid out before them, and he would receive the same feedback, plenty of the members speaking over him to voice their complaints, however the lead council member was doing a better job of keeping them civil and allow William to finish.

At his mention of his own plans brought Brendan's attention and rather suspicious glare as he spoke of hunters from the North.  He knew this information would have only come form Mackenzie, but he knew nothing of any hunters remaining that would be of significant help.  Despite not receiving this information outright himself, it certainly sounded the better route, even if it would be a simple back up to the god's promises, there was no harm in doubling up.

The lead council member would nod, "Thank you," He'd return focus to the remaining table, "As it stands we only have one fleshed out plan for our defense against the pack, and one currently being reviewed.  All in favor of postponing and set plans of action until Council Member Hendrix's plan if fleshed out, raise your hand."  Every council member around the table agreed on this, including Brendan, with a nod from the lead Councilmen he'd turn back to William.  "The council grants you time to gather your information towards a secondary proposal for handling the pack, we look forward to what you may have in mind.  Council member Diffey will be working with the refugees today to either admit them to the Colony or have a secondary site set up for them to remain until the Pack has handled."  This was not an item for negotiation, and Councilmen Diffey would nod, begrudgingly.  "That is all for our meeting this morning, the minutes will be recorded.  Dismissed."

Mackenzie heard another vehicle approach but honestly thought nothing of it, this was a business after all and even if it was out of the way, the creepy junk man likely had other customers than herself.  It wasn't until she heard his voice that Mac understood how screwed she was.  "You really are not the easiest roomie I've dealt with in my time."  The British lit and chiding voice of only one person she knew.  "Shit." She'd sigh and pull herself up to a seated position again, using the steering wheel to support herself, she'd turn her dark eyes towards the young man that had tailed her.  She'd glance back to his truck and the parking job, or lack there of, duly noted the man though she would run, good for him.  If she had the opportunity to ditch him, she would have taken it.  "How did you know?"  She hadn't thought her deception skills were that poor, after all he had been convinced enough to make her coffee instead of getting into the car with her in the first place.  "Oh and congratulations, you're buying my breakfast."  She knew there would be no getting rid of him, at the very least she would try and befriend him, hoping she could get him to see her side.

Hypnos was about to answer Mackenzie's question when a thought struck him. Just him speaking to her directly was causing horrible backlash for her. Not to mention the vision he had just given her and the deity could tell Mackenzie was at her limit. He would take a figurative step back and allow Mackenzie to recuperate before he gave her anymore information. As it was Hypnos just about had enough power to manifest himself again. Hopefully this time for a longer period of time.

Hypnos was floating about Mackenzie biding his time to manifest when something unexpected happened. Elijah came in blocking her way out and was walking towards her. It seemed that this little trip outside the Colony wasn't exactly a sanctioned one. Though Why Elijah was sent to gather her Hypnos wasn't sure of.

Hypnos decided it would be best to stay to the side lines and observe. As he watched a thought occurred to the god. While he already had a Oracle on earth there wasn't any rule on having more than one. Certainly not now when Zeus was God knows where. Probably neck deep in whores if he was still up to his old ways.
