William raised his eyebrows, slowly snapping the phone shut and setting it down. "That could have gone worse," he remarked quietly. "At least he didn't shut us down outright." He paused, his eyes flitting toward Hypnos and the back to Mack. He didn't want to say anything that would tip off the god to their plans. It wasn't so much out of distrust for Hypnos as the fact that he'd agreed to keep the plan between them and intended to keep his promise. As much as he wanted to discuss Franklin's imminent arrival with Mackenzie, he instead turned to give Hypnos a casual nod. "Just making preparations," he said.

Mackenzie would ignore the pagan gods presence for the time being, keeping her attention on William. "We have some time," she'd start, choosing her words carefully but she would pause hearing Ashley's return to the house, a feeling a impending doom "I need to get somethings done, but we'll talk more? Tomorrow?"  She knew very well that her and Ashley's conversation would not likely go well and it would occupy the remainder of her night.

Ashley had gone to the Mess Hall and returned with pilfered left overs, the kitchen staff had been wary at first with her request but after a quick explanation they were more than happy to oblige.  Hotel pan overfilled she set it on the kitchen counter removing the pre-cooked and fresh vegetables she was going to use to make her Hash.  She'd noted Mackenzie's bedroom door was open, Hypnos standing at it's edge but she had no interest in finding out what he was doing.

When the rock struck the Ponytail in his wolf form, it held enough force to cause it to yelp and stop clenching Chase's shoulder. Turning it's head angrily towards what he quickly realized was a Vampire it growled, and in two large strides it closed in on the girl seeking to knock her down.

Chase looked on at the scene momentarily confused at his being released, but not questioning what was happening too much. If Ponytail killed the vamp, or if the vamp killed Ponytail either way it meant one less creature to deal with later. His large head turned to see Big boy starting to shift a few feet away and Chase wasted no time in leaping for the man, in an attempt to go for his jugular. Big boy had other ideas, a fist swinging around and knocking Chase upside his head that disoriented him long enough for Big boy to finish. The two flung themselves at each other, becoming a flurry of fur and limbs as each sought to tear through the other or land on top.

It wasn't until the two slammed into a tree that they broke apart, both growling and out of breath as they started to pace in a circle. Chase knew he'd lose this fight if Ponytail returned, hell he wasn't even sure he could take on Big boy and win. Big boy was bigger than both Ponytail and Chase in his wolf form, not by a whole lot but it was still noticeable. His plan? Run. Suddenly as the two stared each other down Chase turned and started sprinting away, Big boy going right after him though Chase had speed on his side.

William nodded. "Sure," he said, turning to leave the room. Hearing the commotion in the kitchen and with Hypnos standing a few feet away, he understood Mack's sudden transition. Squeezing past the Greek god, Will proceeded to his room and entered. Elijah was inside, working a whetstone along the edge of one of his seemingly never-ending collection of blades. Davenport looked up at him. "You talk to her?"

"Yeah."

Elijah turned back to his task, speaking without looking up. "Did you make her the same offer?"

"Yeah."

Elijah grinned. "I can't imagine she was too thrilled about the prospect, either. You should have kn--"

"She said yes, Eli."

The younger man froze. "...Come again?"

"Mackenzie, she agreed to back me up with the Council," Will said, a smile forming.

"Hm," Eli said, brows raised. "Well isn't she just full of surprises lately. Is that all the two of you talked about?"

"We started some basic coordination. Nothing definitive yet," Will said quickly. He hated lying to his partner, but he intended to keep his promise to Mack.

Davenport nodded, seemingly satisfied. Relieved that he didn't seem intent on prying, Will grabbed his pack from the bed and started back to the door.

"Where are you headed?" Elijah called out.

"To survey the Colony's defenses. It's my job, after all," Will said over his shoulder as he left the room, shutting the door behind him and making his way to the front of the house.

Dayne Matthews

Dayne read over the info pack he had been given, he was going to be helping out at the makeshift clinic.

Taking in the information a few times, he sighed and put it away. He hoped being around so many people

would not trigger a vision. The last thing he needed was drawing attention to himself for the wrong reasons.

Of course he would do what he could to help out in the colony, but if they found out he was in anyway supernatural

he may find himself kicked out or even killed. Shaking his head, he made his way to the clinic to register in and get to work.

Most of his work so far involved re-stocking supplies and updating the summary of what was available to people. It was slightly monotonous but he enjoyed it.

Nothing much was happening save for the occasional small injury that needed tending.

Mackenzie returned to her books, carefully closing each one and re-wrapping them in the protective sleeves for safe keeping.  She may not like their contents, but it was her history, her families history and so long as she lived she would protect it.  Once she was satisfied that they were put aside carefully, laptop and glasses also tucked away, she'd head out of the room to find Ashley-May.  They needed to have a conversation that was a long time waiting.  She would follow the sound and the smell of food cooking to the kitchen and would stop in the doorway watching Ashley as she worked at the stove.

Eventually Ashley would become aware of Mac's presence in the doorway and give her a wary glance before asking. "How are you feeling?"  She would watch Mackenzie shrug and move further into the kitchen coming to sit on the floor next to where she was standing and then she would frown seeing Mac's wince when she'd attempted to lean against the cupboards doors.  "Still that sore?"  She should have been healing faster.  "Here."  She'd set her spatula on the counter moving to sit beside Mac and encouraging her to turn around.  She'd settle behind the smaller woman, one long leg on either side of Mac's body.

She'd work the back of Mac's shirt upwards to view the doctors and William's, work for the first time.  Mackenzie's back was one solid bruise ranging from deep purple to nearly black in places, though she was thankful to see that the sutures were well intact and none looked infected, she'd lower the back of her shirt, "We'll get you some ice for your back later."  She'd say, but didn't want to leave, "Mac, I'm so-"  Mackenzie didn't say anything to stop her, it was her moving.  She'd thought, at first, Mackenzie would leave, not wanting to talk to her, but instead she was turning, throwing her legs over Ashley's thigh then leaning against her chest, head tilting to rest against Ashley's collar bone.  Nothing spoke, she didn't need to, Ashley would draw up her legs and wrap her arms around Mackenzie, smile coming to her lips, happy that Mackenzie forgave her.

They would sit like this for sometime before Mackenzie's head would tilt, listening to the stove top, she'd frown and look at Ashley.  "Is that?"  Ashley smiled and laugh.  "Yep.  Eli told me what it is, finally.  It's called Hash, here, by the way."

"Well, nothing's getting through that, at least," Will remarked flatly, surveying the fifteen-foot-tall reinforced concrete wall. He estimated that it was at least four feet thick at points, making an adequate parapet for defenders to fire down on the enemy, with ladders and stairs in places to allow easy access from inside the colony. It seemed sturdy -- few signs of cracking or structural degradation. It ran around the entirety of the Colony's outer perimeter. It must have cost a considerable amount of time and money to erect. The wall's height would be a challenging (though not impossible) even for a werewolf and there was a distinctive lack of secure handholds to scale it from the outside. Nodding in satisfaction, Hendrix continued on. While he was no engineer by trade, but he'd done plenty of cross-training with his Alpha Team's Engineering Sergeant during his time in SF. He knew more about field fortifications than most.

The main gate was also structurally sound, not particularly wide when open. What concerned him were the various openings with enough space for pedestrians to walk through. It was clear the gate was intended mainly to keep out vehicles, not foot traffic. Barricading those entrances would be of the utmost importance by the time the Wolves came. William scrawled a few notes down in his makeshift journal, continuing up a nearby set of stairs to walk atop the wall. A few interspersed sentries glanced warily at him, but said nothing as he scanned the horizon. Floodlights, powered by heavy-duty extension cords hooked to a gasoline generator inside the Colony, lined much of the perimeter. That would do well, serving to equalize the playing field between the Colonists and the Wolves' superior nocturnal vision. He didn't delude himself into thinking they'd attack in the broad daylight. The question was how long those lights would remain functional once the attackers took notice of them. Hendrix  jotted down another note to check the armory for any night vision or infrared optics.

Will was concerned, however, about the overgrowth surrounding the Colony's perimeter. It was intermittently cleared away at some parts, while others had clearly fallen to neglect, with large trees leaning near -- or even over -- the wall. He didn't have a hard time seeing the Wolves scaling the vegetation and bypassing the wall entirely at points. Once again, his pen was scribbling away furiously in his own unique shorthand. Hendrix paused, glancing upward. He stared at the biggest question of all: what about the refugees still stuck outside the walls?

As the wolf lunged at Alex, she cursed her interfering. She waited until it was an inch away, and jumped up, catching a tree branch. As she fell, the branch broke, giving her a relatively sharp weapon. She drove it towards its head where it was caught and torn away from her. She landed, and snatched up another rock. The wolf snarled and, as it lunged again at her, she threw the rock with all her might down its throat. As it backed, trying to recover from the assault, Alex bit it, tearing at its throat, drinking quickly. She gagged slightly at the smell, but once she was done, she tore its head off. She felt bad as the wolf changed into a man, but she shook that off as she climbed into a tree to sleep off the drowsiness that always came with a full stomach. The other werewolf could wait for now. ((I'm sorry for not fixing it earlier. Been busy getting this phone set up.))

The two wolves sprinted hastily through the woods, the leaner one with a brown-reddish coat out front and the more muscled grey one not far behind. Chase had lost his sense of direction as he focused on what was ahead of him, he'd noticed the guy behind him wasn't too quick but was slowly gaining on him. He knew it was because of the damage the other wolf had managed to do to his shoulder, with each leap over an object or turn around a tree he felt the burning sensation. Eventually it would give out or slip, or Big boy would catch up to him. Either way he lost, so Chase was trying to decide on a course of action.

When the trees started to clear and he spotted the road it was then that Chase realized he was going back towards the colony. There was no way he'd make it back to Joe before he had to have his showdown with the other wolf. This came sooner than expected as he started to cross there was a sudden honk of a horn, headlights, and the sound of tires sliding against the gravel road below. Chase nearly found himself roadkill, but the incident had caught him off balance and Big boy crashed into him. The two once again becoming a tangle of limbs and snarling as they rolled to the opposite side of the road.

Somehow Chase gained purchase and managed to get his maw on Big boys jugular, and wasted no time in clamping down hard and tearing at it. Big boy managed to buff him back so that the two wolves stood panting as they stared one another down a few feet apart. Big boy was clearly having issues with the damage to his throat, his breathing was raspy and gargled. Though Chase hadn't come out without wounds of his own, both his blood and Big boys covered his snout, and his shoulder had received an extra thrashing during his attack on Big boys jugular. The guy was big but clearly not stupid, knowing to go for a weak point when he saw it.

Moments later the scent of Ponytail's blood reached them on a breeze, this had an effect on his friend as Big boy gave on quick look back at Chase before trudging off. Chase's instinct was to go after him, but if he was honest he wasn't sure he'd win round three. Not to mention he was injured and exhausted. Moments passed before Big boy was gone and Chase finally dropped on his stomach heaving a guttural sigh. Voices from up by the road and Chase eased himself up before tiredly heading towards where he'd left Joe. Fearing they could be hunters heading to Vitae Chase started to trot, wincing at every limp his front left took. He considered a quick low howl for Joe to know to come get him but with the Vampire still about and maybe hunters by the road he couldn't risk it.

Instead when he came upon the broken down shack from before he stepped inside and shifted back to his human form. Grunting he plopped down in the corner both naked and bloodied, breathing heavily as he kept an ear out for any of the potential dangers and tried to look himself over. Chase's shoulder took the brunt of it, lifting his arm wasn't worth the pain, otherwise he had light wounds across his limbs. He'd decided to at least rest up here for the time being, he needed to collect himself before attempting to make his way back to Joe. Chase let his head loll back and bang against the wooden wall with a frustrated eyeroll, his right hand clutching at his wounded left shoulder. It just had to be Werewolves....didn't it.

Hypnos silently watched the touching scene between the two girls. The deity felt a smile curl across his face as the two made up. He was glad that the two had reconciled their conflict and came together. Running away from one's problems can help for a while, but in the long run it would only make things worse.

Hypnos headed for the door and said, " There's someone here I need to talk to. He's just arrived and probably quite bewildered. Please let me know if I can help with the defense." With that Hypnos left the home and make his way towards the makeshift hospital where his Oracle was waiting. He wanted to make sure that he was in good health.

Dayne Matthews

Dayne had been doing simple patch ups. He was becoming a fast favourite among the kids because of his gentle demeanour.

He was just patching up the arm of a young child who had taken a tumble from a tree. He had been distracting the child with

a random story about knights and princesses while he cleaned the wounded arm gently and patched it up.

Satisfied it was done, he declared it with a small smile and letting the patient go with her mother.

He went to throw out the waste and clean up before seeing what needed to be done next.

He suddenly got a warm feeling, like someone was thinking about him, usually this did not happen but

he did not know why he felt so comforted by a feeling.

Sitting down, he stretched out and relaxed while waiting for something else to do.

Eventually Ashley would start to de-tangle herself from Mackenzie, she'd missed being close; Mac had spent the night before at the clinic and sleeping alone, after sharing the same bed as someone else for five years, had been hard to do.  She'd return to stove top, checking over her meal, making sure she hadn't burn it.  Mackenzie would move to lean her shoulder against the counter, not bothering with getting off the floor.  She was sore and tired still.

"So," Ashley would start, watching Mackenzie from the corner of her eye.  "What did the false god want?"

At this Mackenzie would frown, thinking back before saying ."Nothing,"  She could see Ashley's face twist, she didn't believe.  "I wasn't talking to him, I was talking with William."  Mac knew she needed to tell Ashley now, rather than later.  Later would result in more bad blood, but she wanted to stall a little longer.  "I should see if Eli and Will are still here."  She was rising, slowly from the floor, using the counter top and wall to help her up, she'd make her way to the kitchen doorway and glance down the hall, their bedroom door was closed, so either privacy or not it. crap. Mac had been hoping for a buffer.  Instead she'd turn back to Ashley, "Guess they're gone."

Ashley had grown suspicious and Mac could see it, only making things worse.  "Alright," Mac would start, coming back to Ashley's side. "So this isn't going to be easy.  The council invited William to join them, at least until the threat of the Pack is gone."  She could see Ashley blink in surprise, but was thankful she didn't interrupt.  "He came to me for help,"

Now she was interrupted by Ashley.  "You help?  You hate it here? You hate the colony."

Mac would frown "Yes, I hate it here, and I hate the idea of the colony, but that doesn't mean I won't help, or that I want to see if destroyed."  She was shaking her head.  "Just listen.  I agreed, I told him I would help him and we have a plan, sort of."  The next few sentences were strained, she hated talking about her past. "After my brothers were turned, and before I came here I was still hunting in the North.  There were other, hunters, I teamed up with, and I think they can help us."  She'd bite her lip, needed to get it out, rip it off like a band-aid.  "These hunters aren't human, they're vampires.  Will and I called their Den Leader, he's coming here to talk about an alliance." There done, Mackenzie's dark eyes would rise to keep Ashley's and was surprised to see a small smile on the other woman's lips.

"Okay."  Ashley would say, not needing to say anything else.  "Thanks for telling me."  She would return to working at her dinner, happy that Mac had told her anything about her past.

Will looked critically at the notepad clutched in his hand. There was still plenty to be done before Vitae would be able to survive the coming onslaught. He paused, quickly copying his shorthand into a more legible form of suggestions, inquiries, and points of concern on a new sheet of paper. With that document in hand, he dropped by the command tent, intent on tracking down Maxwell.

Elijah examined the edge on the knife, with a squint before raising the sleeve of his shirt. He gently ran the blade along the top of his arm, pleased when he saw small brown hairs sheared away. Satisfied, he rubbed the knife clean with a lightly-oiled cloth before placing it back in its sheath and standing up to walk back into the corridor, albeit cautiously. With that same careful demeanor, he crept toward the kitchen and the smell that could only be the scent of cooking Bubble & Squeak. After all, one couldn't tread too lightly with the ongoing row between Mack and-- he froze in his tracks upon stepping into the kitchen. Mackenzie and Ashley stood next to one another, the latter calmly cooking away. There was no visible tension in their stance.

"Hm," he grunted to himself. That was a relief, at least. The sound of bubbling water was followed by a distinct squealing noise. "You see where the name comes from now?" he asked aloud with a grin.

The command tent was occupied when William arrived, few council members were there, none that he had met as of yet, as well as Maxwell.  The man he was seeking was occupying the back half of the tent, documents and papers covering the long table, as well as a rough city map, all the items Brendan had sent him to retrieve for Williams usage, he was in the midst of transcribing, and copying the documents for Williams personal use.

Ashley would look up from her work and give Eli a rather friendly smile, all was right in the world again, so far as she was concerned. "I get it." She'd roll her eyes at him playfully before returning her focus to the task at hand, she'd continue. "Mac, apparently, is heroine in disguise.  She'd decided to throw all in with Vitae, fight with the underdog."

At this Mackenzie would blink, surprised that Ashley would start a conversation like this, she'd search Ashley's face to see if she was trying to start an argument, but saw nothing of the sort, she could only guess that Ash felt this was common banter.  "Uh, yea.  William asked for my help, I said I would until the Pack is done with."  She'd glance towards Eli, she knew she'd asked William to say nothing and she knew the man was of his word.  Time to dig him out, she couldn't have Eli not trusting Williams.  "I wanted to talk to Ashley first before I told you.  I've invited and old Ally to come and speak with the council, he's not human, but he is an enemy of the Pack."  She would watch Eli, waiting for a reaction, but then she remembered Williams assumption.  "He's a vampire."

Alex stirred slightly as the musky, wet-dog smell wafted over to her.She sighed as she slipped out of the tree. Following the scent led her to a run-down cabin. She opened the door slowly, ready to attack at a moment's notice. As she slid into a fighting stance, she realized she recognized the man's face. "What are you doing here?" ((Best I could do with my lack of inspiration.))

s03e03_lastship_photo12.jpg

Chase caught the faint footsteps, lighter than a humans...it hadn't taken much to realize it was the vampire from before. Especially with the strong scent of fresh Werewolf blood. He'd quickly pushed himself up awkwardly to his feet, and when the door opened he almost attempted to shift despite the fact that he knew it wouldn't be a fun experience with his current wounds. But the voice caused him to pause, and he narrowed his eyes at the figure in the doorway whilst using the wall for support. She recognized Chase somehow, but Chase would remember meeting a vampire. Well, one he hadn't put down at least. His eyes widened momentarily remembering certain smaller facial features, the scene out by the group of hunters car from before coming to mind. A girl's face partially hidden by a hat, glasses, covering herself as she backed away from the bloody vehicle. It hid her scent. That or he hadn't been paying enough attention with what was going on at the time.

The man growled at the knowledge of knowing a vampire had been in the colony. And if not for his current precarious position he would have attacked her. But Chase wouldn't last long in his condition, he wasn't stupid. Instead he shuffled sideways a bit, still leaning on the wall but managing a more defensive stance. "What were you doing at the colony?" He asked through grit teeth. The thought of a vampire stalking about and draining it's citizens had him seething.

William approached Maxwell casually, looking over the documents the man was working with. "I hope I'm not interrupting," he said, eyes still transfixed by the papers. "I finished my initial site survey and I've got a few things to run by you," he said, brandishing the paper in his own hand.

Elijah crossed his arms, fixing Mackenzie with a stare. After several moments, the grim facade cracked into a smile. "There was a time, I'm sure, when I would have had all sorts of protests about that. At this point?" he shook his head, relaxing his stance. "At this point... I don't think we can afford to be close-minded. I trust your judgement, Mack. And I know Will does, too. Glad to have your help." He paused. "And... thank you for telling me."

Maxwell would look up from his work hearing William approach.  He was surprised to see him soon, but he would smile and nod appreciatively, respecting the fact the man was already dedicated to the work.  It made him feel reassured that the Council had made the right decision.  "Not interrupting, just getting some information together for you, about the Officials."  He'd glance to the paper in Will's hands.  "By all means, ask away."  He'd set his papers down on the table and wait.

Mackenzie would watch Eli cautiously, she was uncertain how other hunters would react to the suggestion, much less another legacy like herself.  She would openly admit working with Franklin and his Den had not been on the primary list of wants way back when, but it had been a necessity at the time, and appeared to be that way again.  She let out a breath, one she hadn't known she was holding, hearing his comments, seeing that grin on his face again.  "Well."  She'd say softly.  "You and William seem to have got yourself tied up in my mess, you deserve to know what's going on."

Ashley hadn't realized that Eli may have been offended by Mackenzie's news, otherwise she wouldn't have said anything.  She didn't like the idea of working with other monsters to eliminate the ones that were currently causing issues, but she trusted Mac, and knew that her partner would never endanger anyone unless it was absolutely critical.  "Almost done here, you guys want to set the table?"

Will nodded, glancing down at the paper in his hands. "There are a few areas I think we can improve. The gates themselves are solid, but there are ways to bypass them. The foot entrances, for example. We need to barricade them as soon as possible -- it shouldn't take much. As far as the wall is concerned, I noticed a few spots -- like the northwest corner -- where vegetation is encroaching over the perimeter. I've seen Wolves climb before; they can use those trees as a springboard to get past our defenses. If you've got any wood-clearing equipment and people to use them, now's the time. The wall itself is good to go, but it can't hurt to line the top with whatever we can get our hands on -- barbed wire, razor wire, even broken glass. It won't kill them, but they still feel pain. Every second it buys us counts."

He paused, his tone taking a grave turn. "But mainly, I wanted to ask about the people outside. When the Wolves come, those people are going to be sitting ducks out there. They have no walls to hide behind; they'll be encircled and picked off group by group. It's not just them, either -- it's their vehicles and campsites. They break up the sight lines and give the Wolves plenty of cover and concealment until they're right on top of us. Us holding the walls depends on thinning their numbers long before they get there. We can't do that if they've got an RV to duck behind every ten meters."

William didn't mention Hypnos' plan. The god had already run it by the Council and he couldn't afford to hinge his own preparations on the scheme of a god.

Elijah nodded with a smile, moving toward the nearest cabinet to begin fetching a handful of plates. As he set them down, he looked back at Mackenzie. "Will and I have a knack for that. For what it's worth, you seem to have made quite the impression. He doesn't usually trust easily," he remarked innocuously.

dx0HE3H.jpg

Maxwell would lean a hip against the edge of the table and cross his arms over his chest while he listened to Williams, quiet detailed, first analysis of Vitae's defense and fortifications.  He knew they were lacking, and some of the points Will had made where close or the same as his own, but there was gold within his suggestions and concerns.  "The trees, yes, we knew they were growing closer to the walls, but I never thought a wolf could climb one, I'll assign a work force to take care of it at first light."  He was retrieving his own pad of paper, a to do list of sorts, marking down Williams requests.  "Blocking the walking paths will take a little longer for a permanent solution, but for now, I'll have them close up before night fall, and the civilians."  This he was shaking his head. "That is a rather touchy subject I'm afraid, Councilor Jonathan Diffey takes care of all our civilian members needs, but he is having the same difficulties that we are with the hunters; no room.  The second part is some of those outside the walls don't want to move in, just yet.  They're uncertain if they are going to stay at all, with the knowledge of the Pack coming.  It's something you should bring up at tomorrow mornings meet, there is Council meet every morning to report on progress, always after nine AM.  Jon is a good man, but he isn't great with delegating and tends to procrastinate."  Maxwell would chuckle some. "Brendan is going to love having you on the Council."

Mackenzie, after seeing Eli retrieve plates, would pull the drawer open nearest to her and retrieve the cutlery, following suit and setting places at the table beside each plate Eli set down, but she'd pause, hearing Eli's comment about William.  He didn't trust easily?  This certainly wasn't what she'd thought of him, the short amount of time she'd known him.  He seemed entirely too trusting, and mostly of her.  She'd try and shrug it off, but she was afraid that this would stick with her.  "Speaking of, any idea of when he'll be back?"

Ashley was turning off the stove and setting the pan aside for the moment, she'd join the other two by collecting glassware from the cupboards and bringing them to the table.

William grinned at Maxwell's comment. "I hope I live up to the expectations," Hendrix remarked, only half-joking. "I'll see you at the meet tomorrow. Thanks for your time," he said before turning to leave the tent. He wasn't sure what it would take to convince Diffey, but the impending threat of doom could be a powerful motivator in his experience.

Elijah began, "No, he left a while ago to ch--" He was cut off as the front door swung open and William stepped inside. "Speak of the Devil," Davenport remarked, earning a surprised glance from Will. "I take it your stroll was productive?"

Will nodded. "Yeah, there's a few holes in the defenses that I--" he paused, sniffing the air. He leaned over attempting to look past Elijah where Ash worked away at the stove. His mouth was watering. "Is that... hash?"

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie would give pause hearing the front door, eyes would drift upwards to see William step inwards, and be derailed by Ashley's cooking. "Is that... hash?"  Mackenzie would turn to face Ashley would was now triumphantly holding the spatula over her head and nodding to him.  Mackenzie would mock anger, shaking her head slowly regarding first Ashley then William before stating clearly. 'There is no such thing as hash.  It is Bubble and Squeak.  Learn your history."  She could only hope that Eli would help her out with this argument, given he was the only one here that knew the truth behind it.

Mac would take a seat at the table as Ashley carried over their dinner and set it at the center of the table on a pot holder, old habits.

Alex crossed her arms, rolling her eyes at his almost blatant accusation. "I needed some more supplies. Ya know, salt, holy water, sage... stuff that hunters like to keep around." She cracked her knuckles as she stated him down. "Give one good reason for me not to behead you too." All these werewolves around, and she knew there were more. There always were. She needed her gun. She hoped she would be able to get it before they came.

Chase Keaton & Joe Keaton

"How about I give you two." Spoke Joe, stepping up behind her and holding the double barrel shotgun to the back of her head to let her know not to make any sudden moves. Chase gave a relieved small huff, there was something to be said about Joe and how he'd learned to walk so that his super hearing son couldn't hear him coming. "He's with me, and we're hunters. I also might suggest not moving for now." Joe spoke calmly. The shotgun may have been loaded with silver bullets meant for the Werewolves but at this close range it should be more than enough to put the vampire down.

Chase stood up straight, ignoring the discomfort and stared down the girl between them and stepped to the side a bit so that if Joe did shoot he wouldn't be caught in the blast. "You want to claim to be a hunter you've got to do a lot better than that. You head out and you don't even go armed? Doesn't sound much like a hunter to me." Mind you Chase was picking up the usual scents that most hunters gave off from dealing with the specific kinds of materials they needed to deal with the supernatural. "Doesn't explain why you're all the way out here either. You following us?" Chase gave a small snort, he didn't particularly like Vampires especially with the decayed smell they gave off. Though the fact that this one in particular didn't smell like harsh decay told Chase she hadn't been turned for too long, under five years he'd guess.

Alex froze as she felt the shotgun against her head. Clicking her tongue, she slowly raised her hands. "Oh, yeah, duh, why didn't I think of that? Maybe because there are fricking werewolves that ruined my peaceful evening. And it's kinda hard to do backflips with a gun strapped to your waist. You don't believe I'm a hunter, my phone's in my pocket, you can call anyone on it, and they'll vouch for me." She wanted to bite her nails, but the shotgun against her head made her stay still. Her eyes still tracked every move the man in front of her made, however. "Like I knew you were going out here. I was just hoping to have a little fun, and catch a dear or something." She shrugged, a small movement that may have gone unnoticed under her hoodie, which she wished she had. It made her feel shielded.
