It was almost like Ash sensed his slight uneasiness and had pinpointed the cause. He tightened his arm around hers slightly in reaction, "You were right not to trust her then. Not trusting someone like her...or us, is smart. But it's just the part about being open to trusting that you were wrong on, not giving a chance. Well, if I hadn't been given a chance by Joe I wouldn't be alive today." He added quietly, though surprised that she'd been told about Thomas. Once he had his arms returned to him Chase grabbed the door for his female companions as he wondered just how much information was given, but the thought slipped towards the back of his mind as the conversation continued.

Morgan moved ahead, already eyeing the bits and bobs in the shop. Chase was hardly paying attention to it as the man found himself furthest back and looking on over Ashley's shoulder, "You can put the search on hold for the foreseeable future." He told the blonde, a small grin plastered on his face to let her know the reasoning why. He might have attempted not saying within Morgans earshot but that would have been rather difficult, but he wasn't bothered. He and Emile had grown close in the short amount of time but it was far too early to tell if there was any sort of future there, the Alpha had to think of the pack. Chase had put the pack at risk even if he'd been accepted back and forgiven, there was no taking it back. But they'd figure it out one way or another.

Ashley-May turned to face Chase with a frown, ready to return to their previous argument where she would win out with 'You can't stop me.' but she paused seeing Chase's grin. Eyes widened slightly and she smiled. "Oh my goodness, Chase!" She leaned in a took his hand giving it a squeeze. "Who? From the ... Where you're staying now?"

Morgan was immediately enamoured with the shops odd yet cute collection of odds and ends. She had been in nothing but speciality shops prior to this: grocery, hardware etc., that there was a shop that existed for the pure purpose of selling items that were nothing more than decorative -and that there was clearly some sort of demand for it, baffled her.

She heard the blondes exclamation of excitement and only gave the two a passing glance before returning to her mission: something for Chase to give Emile. She paused at something she had never seen before, it looked like a tiny village trapped in a glass ball. She didn't want to disturb the two conversing so she removed her phone and took a picture of it, sending it to Addy with the inquiry. "What is this?"

She was not disappointed when she received an almost immediate reply: "A sno-globe."

Once more she frowned, as this didn't explain what it was only what it was called. She was about to text Addy again when the other woman replied, like she could read her mind. "Turn it over."

Morgan was skeptical but she did as instructed, tentatively picking up the mounted glass ball and turning it upside down in her hand. She examined the bottom of the Sno-globe with a frown, not knowing what she was looking for. With an annoyed huff she went to set the item back on the shelf when she paused, seeing the shimmering tiny flecks of white dance around the globe and tiny village within.

She smiled awestruck, watching the display until it finally settled once more. She tucked the Sno-globe under her arm, not wanting to part with it while she texted Addy back, "it's home. Thank you."

Chase rolled his eyes at her reaction, attempting to take a step back to escape but was stopped by the blonde grabbing hold of him before moving forward for details. "Yes and yes." The man stated, a little embarrassed by the reaction and big deal she was making out of it. "It's nothing yet. I'm just letting you know so don't want you spending your precious time on the wild goose chase my father set you on." He gave a low snort, and despite his attention being on the blonde he was well aware of his other companion messing with something on a shelf and promptly shoving something under her arm. At least she'd found something though it hadn't taken long, he was also aware Emile's niece was probably listening and would use any and all information he spoke about Emile against Chase later. So he was attempting to not sound uninterested but not pushy interested either.

"So how are you two doing?" Chase asked, eyes drifting briefly down towards her stomach as a way to let her know that he did indeed know. Before she could attempt to ask how he knew however, the man raised a hand up and tapped his nose. "Let's just say it's hard to get things past me, usually."

Much to Ashley-May's surprise Chase answered her inquiry far better than she expected. She thought she would have had to fight with the man for the simplest of replies. As much as she wanted him to delve into deeper secrets she knew there was a time and a place for it -and he had given her permission to call him as she pleased. He was soon questioning how she and her child was doing she paused, hand falling to her abdomen briefly. She never thought Joe would have said something to his son; he didn't seem the type of man to gossip but when Chase indicated that it was the wolf side of him that had caught on, that her scent alone had given it away she paled slightly.

She smiled though dreaded the idea that he could tell regardless. Solomon had warded her to prevent Heaven's Host from finding her, but that didn't mean that other supernatural beings wouldn't be able to find her out. "Well enough." She gave a slight shrug. "But hey, guess what I learn? Angels can have children." She joked, but voice faltered slightly as she attempted the light hearted jab at herself. "I keep expecting Alaric to just show up -like he just left to pick something up at the store and he'd be back soon." She rolled her eyes. "But I get how mom felt now and why she didn't bother with trying to be with anyone else -too complicated."

The man frowned as he could feel the uneasiness with Ashley despite her smile. Then scoffed internally at the mention of Alaric, "I'd tell you to move on but from what I hear you already tried." Chase's talk with Elijah had brought enough insight into that situation. "I could tell you not to give up so easily. That I heard what happened from Eli, and that whatever he said probably hurt himself as much as it did you. Though you seem to be far better at keeping it hidden than he is." He gave the blonde a light wink.

"I just know one thing. You and the little one will be okay no matter if you have someone or not. We were both raised by a single parent and well..." Chase realized how off this comment was now considering she'd been with an angel who had left her with a present and he was with a pack that most assumed was coming to attack Vitae. "...we turned out just fine." He finished with the words lacking firmness, purposefully of course as a show of sarcasm.

Ashley-May smirked as Chase commented on how they were raised, it certainly not lost on her what each of their respective current conditions had rendered them after said upbringing but she knew she could have been far worse off. It bothered her to know that Eli was suffering more than she was for his own acts; she didn't want him to -certainly wasn't the type of person to wish any sort of ill will on anyone, no matter the reason, but there was little she could do. Elijah had made his choice, one that didn't involve her or the child to come and there was nothing more.

"The little one is named Liam, by the way." She followed along behind Morgan as the young woman continued to touch everything in sight. "Hypnos gave us a dream. Shows us a possible future. He's a boy, and I named him, or will name him Liam." She frowned slightly. "It's.... hard to explain. I have memories from the dream that have never happened, but I remember them like it was yesterday." She gave a little shrug. "I understand why Eli did what he did. This," She waved a hand in front of her still toned belly. "Is a lot to accept when it's not yours, but I just wish he hadn't made me believe he was interested at all. It wasn't just the dream, it was before that too." She sighed suddenly, smiling again. "Sorry, I'm rambling. I didn't want to keep you too long anyways. I just wanted to make sure you'll be okay, and let you know you always have a home with me."

Chase found himself both amused and curious when Ashley said the child's name was Liam as they followed Morgan, head cocked to the side ever so slightly. But before he could even ask how she knew the woman reminded him of the future that Elijah had spoken on. "Oh." He stated before picking up his voice slightly, "Sorry Liam, your mother is clearly not a fan of the nickname, don't worry though because I'll pick out a better one eventually." His words were clearly directed at the incubating embryo and not her even if she was the only one of the two that could hear him. Any looks he got from the blonde would be met a disobedient smile of determination.

"Well I know one god who will be getting quite the ear-full if little Liam turns out to be a girl." He mused, imagining the scenario and finding the amusement in both Hypnos getting yelled at as well as Ashley having a daughter named Liam. Though inwardly he was scowling as he connected one of the dots. Elijah was given a dream of a possible future with Ashley, this no doubt had an effect on his mind and brought forth the fear that would inevitably cause the nightmare and eventual push from Ashley. Meddling god. Chase couldn't help but wonder if this would have even occurred had Hypnos not given them the dream.

The woman's final words were slightly off-putting with how she'd worded it. She hadn't said us or Vitae, she'd said me. "I'll be fine." Chase said, nodding towards Morgan just ahead of them, guessing she was listening in to everything. "I'm well looked after, not that I need it." He smiled at her before tone turning sarcastic, "I stopped wetting the bed just last week I'll have you know." He winked at her with a smile before he looked over at Morgan. Despite that he knew it was genuine he knew the words came in the wake of his fathers death which wasn't just emotional for him. "Find anything yet?" Chase had to admit he'd been far from paying attention to what they'd passed on the shelves, not that he had much of a clue what to try and get Emile anyways. "Do you think he'd be upset if we actually brought him a squeaky toy though?" Chase spoke up towards the other Werewolf, picturing Emile's reaction which would either be not amused or taking the joke gift with stride and putting it in his mouth. The temptation was there but it was hardly the direction he truly wanted to go as far as bringing something back for the Alpha.

Once more Ashley-May found herself rolling her eyes as Chase spoke directly to the Nephilim, though she found some comfort in his statement that he would find a new nickname for the child in the future; it made her hopeful that Vitae would not be decimated, that she and Chase and the rest of her new ‘family’ would still be in contact, still be friends –as much as they ever were.

She glanced to Morgan as Chase referenced that he was being taken care of and she nodded, once more happy to know he had found some kind of comfort when he needed it the most. She had had Mac when her mother had passed away and if she hadn’t had the support that Mac had offered she didn’t know where she would be now. She shook her head slightly as Chase mentioned a squeaky toy to bring to whom she assumed was taking care of Chase. "Now you sound like Eli." She murmured but stepped in to kiss his cheek. "I’m going to head back, you two take care and I’ll get your number from Will. I will take you up on your offer to talk. Just because you’re with … another hunting group now doesn’t mean you can get rid of me that easily." She gave Morgan a polite smile before heading towards the door.

Morgan had glowered playfully to Chase’s comment about bringing her uncle a dog toy. She waved to Ash as she left before turning her attention back to the wolf. "You can try it," She said with a smirk. "but you might find yourself on a leash and collar afterwards…. Unless you’re into that sort of thing…"

Chase nodded to Ashley as she started leaving, "Take care of yourself." Chase told her after the kiss on the cheek, giving her a small wave as she left the store before turning back to Morgan. Her reply left Chase rather taken aback, whether it was the reference or the fact that she might be implying what her uncle was into he couldn't say. For a moment he was speechless though clearly a little amused, "Well maybe we can pick up a leash and collar for him to wear too." He shot back while deflecting any and every assumption he'd ever consider wearing a collar. "Maybe you can pick one up for Brody while we're there." He added with a smirk, moving further down the aisle to get closer, noting the object clutched under her arm. "Well you clearly found something. I hope you weren't planning to shoplift and get us in trouble." Though it was likely for her, and she hadn't tried to express anything Emile might be interested to him as of yet.

Morgan watched Chase, bemused by his stunned and shocked reaction to her suggestion. She personally did not have, nor want any details of her uncle's bedroom preferences but she certainly would not refrain from suggestion items going forward if this was the reaction she was going to get from Chase every time.

She threw her head back and laughed as Chase threw it back, attempted to encourage her to do the same for Brody. "Can't leash that man." she murmured playfully, but in all honestly, didn't know if he would wear a collar himself. The thought made her pause, considering the image until Chase was mentioning her find. She proudly removed it from where she had been holding the globe and showed it to him, giving it a shake so the white fleck would swirl around once more. "Isn't it great?"

Chase was pleased to see the shopping trip hadn't been a bust considering the woman's excitement to something he considered to be a more common and looked over item by most. "Snow-globe huh? It suits you if you ask me." He asked genuinely, "Let me guess you're a fan of snow in general aren't you?" Chase enjoyed that type of weather a bit himself though not a huge amount of the powder at one time. At the thought of her being done he did take a moment to glance about the shop and shelves nearby, if they were going to bring something back for Emile he should probably have a look. Being around someone for a mere few days wasn't nearly enough to have a full grasp on what they would like, not to mention the cabin Emile stayed in wasn't even furnished by him so he couldn't even go off that for the mans tastes.

Chase picked up a rather ugly looking small vase and looked it over with no interest before holding it up at Morgan questioningly, "Is your uncle a vase kind of guy?" It was clearly him being sarcastic despite his clueless thoughts on the subject, he'd never in a million years take a vase to someone as a gift. Mostly it was to see her reaction.

Morgan narrowed her eyes at Chase as he commented about the globe and making the assumption she liked the weather. She retracted her extended arm, bringing the globe closer so she could pet it's cool surface with her other hand. "I do like the snow, a lot thank you." She huffed though smiled after a moment. "And you better start to like it because we're from the North and it's pretty much cold all the time, but then I think Uncle will do a decent job of keeping you warm." She glanced idly at the vase he procured from the shelf and questioned her about it.

"Honestly?" She said quietly. "Might want to stick to the leash and collar, because that thing is horrible." It wasn't hard to tell Chase was at a loss as to what to gift the Alpha. "Emile is a simple guy, even at home he's got next to nothing in his house." She glanced over the shelves again, thinking. "Something that is basic, really simple but it has a use, maybe it could be used for multiple things. Or, your next best bet is to get him something you would like. I know he'd want to learn to like what ever you do." She cast him a side long glance. "Option three: a French to English dictionary."

Chase gave Morgan some side-eye at her comment about Emile keeping him warm, but glossed over it as she mentioned the Alpha's tastes..or lack-thereof. She had some decent ideas, the dictionary catching his interest because it was something useful. Chase set the vase back on the shelf carefully, glancing around once more with a renewed perspective before giving up slightly. "That isn't a bad idea in the least." He told her, ushering the woman towards the shop-keep to check-out. Chase gave the older woman a smile as he pointed out the globe in Morgan's hands, she gave him an estimate and the man pulled the money out of his wallet to pay, then thanked her before starting for the exit. "Well, we need to pay a visit to a book-store then." He told his companion, holding the door open for Morgan as he exited.

It wasn't difficult to find, a few shops down there was a smaller one likely filled with plenty of used books. Once inside Chase led the way down an aisle as he looked over the books on the shelf with his head cocked sideways. Once he found the dictionary section he turned to Morgan, "Grab a french to English dictionary would you?" He asked just before walking further down the aisle and turning a corner and following the path in the store until he came up on the artist section. Pausing momentarily to scan the shelf until he grabbed a small sketch journal that looked purposefully worn. It had admittedly been a year or two since Chase had drawn anything but he wasn't half-bad, it was a part of him Emile could learn as well as allowing Chase potentially give the other man some sketches of himself.

Morgan followed Chase's lead as he clearly had some thoughts as to what to get Emile, she showed the shopkeeper the globe, but didn't turn it over to be bagged -far too enamored with the item to really want to part with it. She followed Chase along as he headed for the bookstore, this was not something new for Morgan; nor was it any different from what she'd seen in the past so upon stepping inside the shop she nodded to the wolf and headed for the dictionary section of the small shop.

It certainly did not take long to find what he wanted -there were few other selections on the single shelf titled "Dictionaries". She soon found herself wandering through the aisle in search of Chase and what else he could possibly be looking for. She paused at the end of the aisle seeing him look over some booklets. "This should work?" She half asked, half stated as she held the old print book to Chase. "I doubt there is any slang in here or anything that will help with your sarcasm, but at least the language doesn't really change, right?"

Ashley-May had taken her time returning to the small wake in Joe's honor, taking time to go over her options all over again. Chase had done what she wanted to, broken free from the colony and found somewhere to belong. She much as she loved Mac and had come to depend on and adore Will, Addy and even Eli -despite their recent confrontations, she didn't feel at peace here anymore. She wanted a change, she felt restless and alone and wanted to start new. She knew she wouldn't make any final decisions for now, but after the pack was handled, one way or another, she was going to make a needed change.

She paused in the distance seeing Mac with Will seated together, no less. Both looked happily in love, no a care in the world except for each the other. She smiled, and thought to duck away back to the house except Mac made eye contact with her. Of course the hunter was always on the ball. She watched Mac as she waved her over and she shook her head, nodding towards the house and touching her abdomen. Seeing that Mac understood she turned and headed home, determined to eat the ice cream Will had found for her.

Mackenzie knew something was off with her partner when she refused to come back to the wake and sit with her and Will. She knew Eli was still present but Addy had done a decent job of keeping the man a fair distance from her. She had no intention of speaking to him unless necessary, which was likely the best for both of them. She watched Ash as she headed back to the house before turning her attention back to Will, a sad smile. "Something's up with Ash. I'm hoping it's just the baby making her feel off."

The silent exchange between Ashley-May and Mackenzie hadn't gone unnoticed by Will as he sat alongside his girlfriend. As Mac stated her concerns, William nodded slowly. "Yeah. But with everything going on lately: Alaric, Joe, Elijah, the baby... I'd be more surprised if she didn't look off-balance," he said quietly. "Addy will be keeping an eye on her emotional state, don't worry." Will took Mac's hand in his own, squeezing it reassuringly. "Has she said anything to you? Out of the ordinary, I mean."

After grabbing the sketch book and a simple pack of old school pencil's he heard Morgan heading his way. The man nodded at her assumption as he took the book and gave a grin, "I wouldn't have it any other way. Obviously I need to be able to be a sarcastic asshole and not have him know about it all the time." He proceeded to nod his head towards the shop-keep once again but paused mid-step to look back at her, in his small moment of tunnel visioned excitement he'd forgotten this was supposed to be more for the other werewolf than just getting in and getting out. "Was there anything you wanted to look at while we're here?" He asked, ready to leave if she wasn't interested in anything the book store might have. Again having no clue as to whether Morgan was an avid reader or just the opposite.

Mackenzie nodded as Will mentioned Ash's mood and demeanour could be off for any of the items he listed including the fact that Heaven was intent in ending her and her child's existence. She shifted to lean against his side as she spoke. "No, nothing major. She told me she felt trapped and wanted to leave the colony -for an outing," Mac added quickly. "But I get the feeling that once we handle the Grace issue.... She might leave. And I can't let her go out there alone. Not like this."
Safton Safton

Morgan laughed and followed Chase to the register, of course his sarcasm - lost or bo on Emile, was likely one of the qualities the Alpha liked about Chase. He certainly wasn't like the rest of the pack members and even Morgan was surprised more often than not with what Chase said or came up with. She waited quietly as he paid for his books and they headed back out into the quiet streets of the colony.

"No, thank you." She smiled to him. "This has been incredible, really. I've never been to such large town." She spoke softly, not wanting anyone to over hear their conversation as they headed back to Brody's car. "Did you need to bring anything of your fathers back?" She didn't doubt Joe had some sort of belongings here in the colony; even as nomatic as hunters were they all has possessions, right?
Crono Crono

William listened closely to Mac, wrapping his arm around her and nodding as she added that Ashley-May was interested in getting away from the Colony temporarily. What she said next gave him pause. He turned to look at her, eyes wide. Will couldn't imagine Ash leaving; he knew she wasn't nearly as attached to the hunting life as Mac. But the thought of her leaving it and them behind pained him -- he'd come to see her as a good friend over the last several days. More than that, he hated to think of the effect it would have on Mackenzie.

Will sighed. "It's so dangerous for her right now," he agreed. "But if she wants to leave after everything settles down... that's her choice," he said reluctantly. "She'll do whatever she thinks is best for her and Liam."

Chase was glad to hear that Morgan had enjoyed herself, a smile forming on his lips as he stared ahead of them while walking with the books underneath his arm. It was a welcome distraction for him from thinking too hard about the funeral, his father, and of course Thomas. "I thought you might enjoy yourself, it's a thank-you for coming here with me." He spoke on the shopping and snow-globe. Not to mention Morgan had met the people he had connections with in the colony, had seen for herself who he cared for. When the pack comes to Vitae and he would be left behind he hoped she'd be able to keep an eye out for them, just in case.

When the woman asked about Joe's belongings Chase gave a small shake of his head, "I have them put away for the time being, I'll deal with them another time." Reaching his right hand over he pulled up the sleeve of his left arm which held the books to fully uncover the watch. "This is all I need for now." A solemn smile on his face.

Mackenzie turned a playful glare at Will as he announced that if Ash wanted to leave it was her choice. "You clearly don't know your girlfriend as much as you think you do." She tilted her head up to kiss the side of his lips. "I'll bind her here if I need to, she's not leaving with our nephew." She murmured and closed her eyes, enjoying the simple comfort of just being close to Will. No matter how at odds her feelings were or how torrent her emotions, Will always managed to ground her. "I'll just Eli as a sacrifice; I'm sure some god would want him." She smirked at the thought but eventually sighed. "We should probably head back ourselves, I'm taking the ladies surfing tomorrow and should probably get some sleep."

Morgan smiled and nodded seeing Chase brandish the watch; she was happy he was able to find something to bring back to the pack as a token and that he was able to store his fathers belongings for the time being. She knew he didn't have 'home' of his own with the pack, in their temporary den, but she knew without a shadow of a doubt that if Chase were to bring a truck of belongings back to Emile's cabin her uncle would find space for it all.

As they reached Brody's car her phone buzzed and she glanced at the display, giving a slight hiss. "We're busted." She murmured but grinned un-apologetically. "Brody's caught on to us 'borrowing' his car." She dropping into the passenger seat, immediately sending a text back to the angry wolf. As Chase got in the car she glanced to him. "I messaged uncle to deflect the anger. Brody might butt heads with Emile, but when the Alpha speaks, everyone listens."

William Main.jpg
Will grinned, returning Mackenzie's kiss. He felt a surge of warmth in his chest as she followed his earlier cue in calling Liam their nephew. It made him feel as if there could be a future for all of them in Vitae... assuming Ash didn't leave. He would never dream of trying to prevent the woman from leaving once the Grace was dealt with; at the end of the day, he knew Mac would likely feel the same. But it would be a lie to say he didn't want her to remain for his and Mac's sake, not to mention the possibility of her and Eli patching things up.

William was shaken from his reverie as Mac mentioned offering Elijah as a sacrifice, but his smile never faded. "You can barely stand being in the same room with him. God or not, imagine dealing with that for eternity. I'm the only one crazy enough to take that deal," he said lightheartedly. He paused at the mention of surfing -- clearly she had relented to Ash's request for an outing. Still, he stood up, offering Mac his arm so they could talk as they made their way back to the house. "I'm fairly certain Nebraska isn't known for its beautiful beaches," he joked. "You said 'ladies'," Will added with a frown. "Who else is going with you?"

"We?" Chase said with the car door open, looking over the hood at the woman with an innocent look on his face, then slipping inside. As he started the vehicle and started for the gate Morgan mentioned using Emile as a buffer, That is an abuse of power if I've ever heard one. Chase mused to himself wondering how many times she'd done that in the past. "I'm going to make it painfully clear that you told me it was your car and that you are the only one at fault. Then you get to deal with the angry wolf all on your own." Whilst Chase had his eyes on the road ahead he had a smirk on his face, fully intending to pin the blame on Morgan. Still he shook his head with a light sigh, "You should have asked him before we left"

Mackenzie contently took William's arm as she stood from the table where they had been eating. She leaned against his side as they headed back towards the house. "No, no Nebraskan beaches, but there is an indoor pool and surf, and ladies because Ash asked Adelaide to come with us -thankfully." She smirked. "It stops me from having to try and surf, gives Ash a new target." She strolled a little further before she spoke again. "I think she's feeling trapped here. Knowing that Heaven's Host searches for her means she can't be away from anyone too long and she doesn't have her own car, her own way of getting around. On our way tomorrow I'm going to take her shopping for a car." She glanced up at Will. "Don't tell her, it'll be a surprise, but she's going to be a mom, she's going to need to be able to transport herself and her kid, right?"

Morgan rolled her eyes at Chase as they passed Bart and through the gates of Vitae, exiting on their way back to the pack. She huffed at him and leaned her head back against the seat as he plainly stated he was going to throw her to the wolves... or in this case, wolf. "Wow, big tough hunter afraid of a wolf." She mocked but when he noted she should have asked she tisked at him. "Alpha's, do not ask. We take what we want." She couldn't contain her laughter or keep up the serious tone as she leaned to nudge her elbow to his. "Brody is just a big puppy, he'll be over it by morning. Besides I think he's more annoyed he doesn't know where I went rather than the fact that I took his car to do it."

William was surprised that Adelaide was going with Ashley-May and Mackenzie. Pleasantly surprised, in truth. He hadn't expected her to warm up to the two of them so fast, or vice versa. In all honesty, her blossoming friendship with Ash was no real surprise... it had been her standing with Mac that he'd been worried about for the most part. Will had expected some level of tension between the two of them, but Mac seemed genuinely happy to have Addy along tomorrow; even if it was only due to the fact that she wouldn't have to surf, Will would take what he could get.

Will turned to look at Mac with a slight expression of surprise when she mentioned taking Ashley-May to get a car. It slowly softened into a smile as he wordlessly leaned in to brush his lips against hers. "She's lucky to have you, you know," he murmured with complete sincerity. It warmed his heart to see how much Mac cared about her best friend and partner, the lengths she would go to to keep Ash and her child not only safe, but happy. "Just... no minivans," he added with a smirk.

Chase scoffed at the insinuation that he was doing so out of fear. "Hardly. I'm not afraid of you're boyfriend, I just don't go out of my way rubbing people the wrong way." After he said this however he clearly had to think on what he'd just said, realizing that wasn't entirely true. "I take that last part back." He shrugged his shoulders, "Still. Brody and I had a rocky beginning and I'd rather not have him pissed at me." The man glanced over at his companion with a stern look on his face as he tightened his grip on the wheel, "Especially if I'm going to tell the rest of the pack about why I came to them in the first place." It was mostly to gauge her thoughts and reaction on the subject and had nothing to do with the Brody conversation honestly, just an easy way to slip it in. Then he looked back to the road ahead, "If they decide they want me out I don't want Emile using his damn Alpha position to override that. I don't want to be somewhere if I'm not wanted, I have done that for too long already."

It was hard to say that considering what they'd just come from. Where Chase had told his friends at the colony that he was staying with the Pack, and if the pack decided not to let him stay he'd be going right back looking like a fool. Not to mention he did want to stay, there was something about how close the pack was that drew him to it. Like fitting a puzzle piece into the puzzle. Not to mention he'd grown close to both Emile and Morgan in the short time he'd been there. Which was odd considering his outlook on Werewolves in general, but they'd done something to make him open to changing said outlook.
