OMG THEY ARE SO CUTE
Fhskfhdkf any maybe I’m just sleep deprived but I just realized the potential hilarity of Joker dressed as a wizard but still having all of his regular gear.
Wizard Joker: I cast fireball *Pulls out gun*
I can see a holiday that is normally celebrated by Moblins, Poes, Gibdos, and other such monsters being adopted into Hyrulean culture, with a fun spin put onto it.Aw thank you! I saw a random TikTok about Spirit Halloween bat costumes and one of them was this really cute poncho batwing design so I figured I’d give my own spin on the idea.
while it probably has very little evidence in canon, I like to think Hyrule has some version of a fall holiday that either is Halloween or something very similar to it so I could definitely see her quickly catching on to the more modern ways of celebrating it, especially with Peach and the other fighters there to guide the way (for better or for worse lmao)
Fbsjdjdsjdb this October really sped by didn’t it and thank you! To quote from the sacred texts: “It’s Frickin bats, I love Halloween”

Fhsjfj on my way back from class I’ve been thinking about this hypothetical Hyrulean Halloween (try and say that three times lol) and came up with a couple of ideas/headcanons.I can see a holiday that is normally celebrated by Moblins, Poes, Gibdos, and other such monsters being adopted into Hyrulean culture, with a fun spin put onto it.
Those are great! I had a similar idea of the Hylians making the holiday into a celebration of the autumn harvest to explain the use of gourds in decor and such. The holiday also having a focus on the barrier between Hyrule and the Dark World is a cool idea too!Fhsjfj on my way back from class I’ve been thinking about this hypothetical Hyrulean Halloween (try and say that three times lol) and came up with a couple of ideas/headcanons.
[*]
- A bit like the actual holiday I imagine the “lore” of the holiday might be the notion that it’s a period of time when the barrier that divides the living and spirit realms thins, thus allowing spirits and ghouls to travel across. However, instead of this other realm being the classical afterlife, I think it’d be cute if it instead was moreso about the metaphorical barrier between Hyrule and the Dark World.
- Like you said the holiday would probably find it’s origins amongst the various monsters of Hyrule, although over time as more species began to adopt the holiday a lot of its practices and traditions were intertwined with others.
- For example, maybe once the holiday spread to Hylians they were the ones who also added on an emphasis of it being harvesting season.
- In it’s current form the holiday would primarily celebrated in the form of a big festival held at twilight. There’d be all the typical fall activities one could expect. Lots of farmers and merchants selling holiday appropriate items, people hosting bonfires, apple bobbing, etc. etc.
- But for the upper elite of Hyrule, the holiday would be celebrated very differently. Taking inspiration from how Halloween was celebrated in the Victorian era, the holiday would be celebrated as large parties indoors, primarily for the purpose of letting the lords and nobles chat amongst each other, matchmake, and play small games amongst each other. For the people hosting it’d be an excuse to show off their wealth and for the people attending it’s a means to make connections and gain social credibility amongst the Hylian elite.
- While they might not have the classical trick-or-treating, I could still imagine it being tradition to wear monster costumes with Poe costumes specifically being the most popular choice. But even if one chooses not to go all out on a costume, at bare minimum it’s still expected for celebrators to wear a mask out of respect
And because I’ve put way too much thought into this, here’s how Zel (and some Alttp Link as a bonus) would celebrate it:
[*]
- For Zelda, the holiday starts off with her hosting/attending many of the parties held by Hyrule’s nobility. This is also her least favorite part of the holiday as it means having to interact with the usual pompous lords and nobles for loooong stretches of time.
- But once it’s hit twilight, she’ll don a costume and Impa will help sneak her out to the local festival.
- (This is inspired by Link being an Apple farmer in the manga adaptation) Link’ll probably be selling out various treats like candy apples, apple pie, cider and pretty much anything else that involves combining apples with sugar lmao
- For the first half of the festival the disguised Zelda would help him with selling the goods until most or all of its been sold.
- Once their done selling goods Zelda and Link spend the rest of the night perusing the various festival stalls before attending a local bonfire event. They dance, listen to live music, and all around simply have a good time.
- all partied out, Link helps Zelda sneak back into the castle, ending the holiday off on a high note.
for Aster and Harkianian it’s gonna be a battle between the unstoppable force of all the sugar and sweets that’s gonna be flowing through their veins versus the immovables object of being up past their bedtime. Zel and Roxas will either have to drag the sleepy siblings home early or be stuck dealing with little hyper active sugar gremlins for the rest of the night. No matter what it’s gonna be a lose-lose situation lmaoThose are great! I had a similar idea of the Hylians making the holiday into a celebration of the autumn harvest to explain the use of gourds in decor and such. The holiday also having a focus on the barrier between Hyrule and the Dark World is a cool idea too!
I can see Aster and Harkinian being excited for the holiday because it's one of the few times they're allowed to stay up late. Whether or not they're actually able to stay up that late on their own is another story! Roxas taking the two out to the festival is very cute to think about.
I think a younger Stefan would've loved the autumn festivals. If he was feeling well enough to do so, I can see him performing magic tricks while in costume. Needless to say, dressing up in costume is his favorite part of the holiday!
Honestly, he probably would. Seems right up his alley lol
Pink-haired Link! It’s the return of her Pikku mask!
Pink-haired Link! Cute art as always!
The joys of parenthood! XD Poor Roxas having to juggle a hyperactive Aster and Harkinian while Zelda goes to talk to Link is an entertaining thought!
Pittoo is probably taking one for the team by staying at the castle to deal with Hyrulean nobility. It's not too bad as most are too scared and unsettled by him to want to talk to him, so they party and chat amongst themselves while he supervises. Lol They approach Dark Pit and he's just glaring at them while Jojo Menacing signs hover around him. XD At least he fits the mood of the holiday!
I kind of want to draw a little Stefan enjoying the autumn festivities, but I still have yet to do my own Halloween-themed art. .3.
Agh, she totally would lmao. Corrin wouldn't exactly tease DP per say, but she'd definitely poke fun at the soft side that he can display at times!Corrin tells the ladies, and Link and Marth, about Dark Pit saving a newborn Chao from starvation, and Pittoo has his arms folded, clearly annoyed. "I'm not heartless, so what!"
OUCH! Poor Cinth! XD
Those in Valla who know of Harkinian are like, "Whoa! Lil' Hawk ain't little no more!" Kaida sees that Harkinian is still the silent type and is relieved that some things haven't changed!
Melina and Kaida are friends, but I can see them also having a bit of a rivalry when it comes to their fighting skills, similar to their fathers. They might have conflicts on occasion, but they're never malicious to each other. Kaida gives Melina all her dresses, and Melina gives her trinkets such as gold bracelets and flower or branch crowns that will never wilt. Such things are priceless in the mortal realm, but to Melina they're everyday angel fashion! She just wouldn't feel right taking all the beautiful dresses without giving something in return.
Melina smiles brightly at Kaida and responds, "He's absolutely right, but it wouldn't be very inspiring to the Hyrulean Knights if your father were to lead them while wearing a potato sack, would it? Do you not wear the uniform of a Knight when you are on duty? That uniform means something to you, does it not? To you and your fellow Knights, it is a sign of camaraderie and being a part of something greater than oneself. To the citizens, it is a symbol of hope and safety. If you were to be sloppy with your uniform, it gives off the impression that you do not care. Valor and wisdom are important, but there is power in appearances!"
Kaida and Melina are hanging out in town, and the village folks are so awed by Melina's divine beauty that she is showered with gifts of food, trinkets, and flowers. What would Kaida think of seeing Percy smitten with Melina? XD
Marth seems to be getting a little flustered there XD
