Fandom Star Wars; Decade Three

The kitten quickly realized the game, and began chasing the little ball of lightning, its movements smooth and fluid.

Finn looked around at all the parts scattered around him, and stretched. "Now for the fun part." Picking up a couple of pieces, he produced a hydrospanner and began putting the engine back together, his tongue poking out slightly in concentration. The eagle watched indifferently, its job done for the time being.

A hand touched Aegirine's shoulder, and, in one fluid movement, stood, grabbed, and pinned against the wall. "Oh... Synda. Sorry." He released the padawan, and the padawan forced a half-hearted salute, coughing. "I got an... engineer? Who is that?" An older man followed behind him, and looked disgruntled. "Where is the shippenshnacker?" Aegirine narrowed his eyes, and said, "Isn't the boy the mechanic whom you sent me?" The padawan looked equally confused, and said, "No... I have never met him. This is the mechanic I got." He motioned to the man behind him, who was sleeping on his feet. Aegirine strode to Finn, and, putting a hand on his shoulder, asked him "Who are you?"

Finn's humming stopped abruptly, and he looked up at the suddenly imposing jedi master. He glanced beyond him, and saw the padawan and the older mechanic. He gulped slightly, but sprung to his feet and preformed a sweeping bow. "My name is Finnègin Alfrìn, mechanic and blacksmith. I apologize for any inconvience I've caused you, but I suggest you let me finish reassembling the engine before turning me over to the authorities." He grinned hopefully at the man before him.

Aegirine looked between the man behind him and Finn before him. Sitting down and putting his face in his hands, he muttered, "Padawans, watch closely. Chief engineer Marcah, you may return to your rest." As the man stumbled away, he remarked darkly, "It is not like that one was going to do it anyway." Turning to the boy, he said, "If you can fix- no, improve- this ship, then perhaps I could do a bit more than simply omit your presence." He suggessted.

Finn smiled brightly, his whole face lighting up. "Sounds like a good deal to me!" He glanced back at the mostly disassembled engine, and his smile grew even wider. "Does your bird like to fly fast?"

It was Aegirine's turn to grin. "This is a class A stealth unit of my home planet. By storing the electricity of the Tsil storms inside, it provides an engine propulsion which is efficient and fast. The fact that the Tsils can self-levitate makes it move more swiftly. By turning the engine off, and levitating instead, I can silently approach almost any enemy. The electrical storms of the outside jam enemy scanners." He continued, clearly bragging, "The crystals are dark, and thus blend into space naturally. With the force which the Tsil are proficient in using, it can produce a shield or force strike someone. It can come apart, and can control itself, making it an excellent drone. By focusing the electrical energy at different crystals, I can produce ion shots to disable the enemy's ship. Oh, and yes, I almost forgot; 'Gotta-go-fast!' Is that a viable enough description for you?"

Finn laughed, his smile still huge. "I'll keep that in mind." He turned back to the engine and took a few pieces off it, examining them closely. After a moment, he reattached them in different places, and began putting more of the engine back together.

Aegirine looked down at the kitten, who had pounced on the ball in his moment of distraction. "Oy, stop, that could hurt you." he said as he slid the ball out, and began to make it chase around again.

The kitten looked up at Aegirine with wide eyes, as if asking 'but aren't I supposed to catch it?'

Finn picked up another piece and frowned. "This will not work." He turned to the eagle, who was patiently waiting. It looked up at him, and let out another jet of flame. Finn chuckled. "Yeah, I know. But think you can do it?" He held out the piece. After a moment, the bird snapped up the piece in its beak.

'Yes, you are supposed to chase it, dear kitten. But if you have it pinned all of the time, then you cannot enjoy the fun of the chase once more.' This he transmitted using Tsilian telepathy, seeing if the normally force receptive communication could be used on a frequency which the kitten could hear.

Andrew's ears perked up, his eyes wide. "Mew?" The data it had just recieved was very new, and very confusing.

Finn turned to look at them, confused. Stùrmbright was giving him a feed of data, and it was going so fast he could barely make heads or tails of it. The best he could figure out, was that it was what Andrew was trying to comprehende. "What did you do?"

"Most interesting..." he murmured. "It was always thought..." 'Thank you for your contribution to my knowledge, little one.' Turning to Finn, he said, "Oh, it was just an experiment... a test normally used to discern the listeners on my home planet. It should do them no harm." Outside, he was calm, but on the inside, his brain was zooming through the potential implications, and the implications they produced.

Finn raised an eyebrow and cast a worried glance at the kitten, who was now staring off into space. "Well....hopefully nothing will go corrupt." He sent a quick message to Stùrmbright to alert him if Andrew's coding started to go wrong, and then returned to his work, but seemed distracted.

"Does it really prove such a problem to comprehend my message?" Aegirine ask, puzzled. "Humans and other living creatures seem to suffer no ill effect." This could prove a setback to any of the implications he had observed. "Perhaps even you might hear it."

Finn frowned, absently fiddling with some wires. "Have you ever tried whatever you did on a droid before?"

"Well," Aegirine began, "My planet does not use droids. I would have no venues for this particular expirement." He said matter-of-factly. "I use it to discern which of the people on the planets to which I travel. It is my test to select my apprentices. I then take them to a place such as this to teach them."

Finn frowned again, lost in thought as his hands continued to alter and put together the engine. "What exactly is it that you're testing?"

[Forgot to mention this. Finn has some bionics implanted in his brain to connect him to Stùrmbright, and Stùurmbright can communicate with Andrew.]

"The listeners on my planet are able to hear tsil telepathy, as do all those who are particularly force-sensitive. By sencing out a wave of communication via this telepathy, I can prove who is force-sensitive or not."

Finn stroked his chin, fingers brushing against the soft hairs there. "Interesting. I didn't design Andrew to pick up such signals...." His voice trailed off in thought.

"How is the engine coming along?" Aegirine asked. He had decided. If the boy were able to fix the engine, then he would test him, and if he could hear him when addressed by the telepathy, then he might take the boy with him. A mechanic might be useful, and he was intrigued by how the machines could register his thoughts.

Finn smiled, picking up another piece and fitting it into place. "I'm almost done. The adjustments I made should increase efficiency by about 13%, if I understand way your ship works correctly."

"Allright." An increase in efficiency would be beneficial. "Tell me when you've finished... and we can begin." he smiled slightly, wondering if finn would be able to withstand the agonizing pain of the outsider mark.

Finn cast a suspicious look in the Jedi Master's direction. "Begin what?" He picked up another piece and turned it over in his hands, looking it over.

He smiled, one that was eerily reminiscent of the famous smile of DECADE 3's "Obey" posters. "The test. I did tell you, if you could improve upon the ship, I could get you off of the ship. But if you fail the testing, then it will leave you in little state to leave with me on time. I also plan on a final test of my pupils to see which can be my companion for my journeys." He sized up the mechanic, and quietly conferred with Synda, who then ran towards one of the hallways. "How close are you at this point to finishing?"

Finn stared at the Jedi for a few moments, and then blinked, and turned to look at the engine. "Uh....I just need to put back together the casing."
