Easy, you yourself proceeded to try and play the shadowy king figure and that'd actually work better if you just took the losses in stride and let your character deal with how others see this, don't you think? Lives given for a greater cause, all must make sacrifices for the future of the land, they will be remembered as heroes etc, you get what I'm saying?
 
Really, it's more the fact that you're not letting anyone be effectual- and when they manage to be effectual in spite of this, you make a poorly-thought-out attempt to retcon which only makes things worse and creates a vicious cycle that really just makes your self-insert look even more disgusting than it already is.

Big flashy destructive spells don't feel big, flashy, or destructive when there's no collateral damage. Plus ColdCash served up a perfect hook for a character arc for you that you just ruined. A demi-god dragon demon man probably wouldn't see losses like that the same way a mortal would, and that would then set up hooks for all the other knights questioning if it's the right thing to side with a powerful being that wants to protect the empire but is willing to allow massive losses or risk the monsters on the outside (Grigori, Hildebrand, Kuto, etc) tear apart the empire.

I do believe that with every rp that I've been in, I've given some sort of weakness or limitation in my CS's. No human or character or magical creature, made up or real is OP. Yes they may have their moments. However, as my character has stated in post 55, "I know that every dragon -- just as any race -- however powerful, has a weak point. An Achilles heel if you will."

Also, Rinzler's not just a body guard or a toy just for press conferences. She's a person just as anyone else in this story. And she's a character. with flaws. like everyone else.
 
Gaius Danius Griinia Gaius Danius Griinia Look, I get it, you're insecure and trying to deflect criticism by being funny, but it's really not funny. It's obnoxious. Me and the other players have been trying to work with what little effort you put in and prop this non-story up and actually make it somewhat interesting but your utter refusal to even try and step past a generic power fantasy is making it really hard for everyone.

Seriously, I rolled with having no real hook to get into the story and found my fun on my own, and when Juju Juju ended our super happy fun time villain team up I rolled with that because I'm not my character and I can see it leading to something interesting down the road.
 
I'd argue about characters or magical creatures not being OP, sometimes they very very clearly are, both within the confines of their own story and even compared to others, and it's usually a sign of poor writing.

On the actual matter at hand, again I get it you're here to have fun but sometimes things need to be taken at least a wee bit seriously, since we're all here to have fun together. If you want other people to play patsy you should be upfront about it, but I can't say it'll guarantee you players. Also I can still see the post on my end.

Thanks, it's an angle I always love to see done and I'm glad I got to pull it off here. I really hope this game can keep going, I want to see where and when my showdown with Gohan510 Gohan510 will take place, before the final assault on the empire or in it's ruins.

Edit: And yeah, I'm still seeing it too.
 
I hope my big boom wasn't too much for some of your tastes. I used what little science I could given the situation, and left its full impact unwritten in hopes the others would fill in what they see.

Which ColdCash ColdCash did wonderfully in my opinion. It's kinda what I was hoping to read about it.

And I do hope we can remain civil. I'm sure the majority of us joined with the intention of having fun. It's just a piece of fictitious nonsense to fool around with.

Okay so I posted a thing about the tree thing, but I can easily edit it out and just react in horror to all of the dead of this.

But to me, honestly that whole thing of the Tree is a bit of a copout. There has to be stakes for anything to mean anything and get invested in. And alongside that, the actions of people need to have consequences, like Newtonian Law. Every action equal and opposite reaction.

There are a lot of fun characters here, and they need their chance to shine. And people can't shine if you Gaius Danius Griinia Gaius Danius Griinia , try to take every moment for yourself and not let anyone else have the chances to have meaningful moments.
 
Well, there we go, got my looooooong post done reacting to everything that happened. So, thanks for listening to your players Fearless GM, given how so many seem to think they can do no wrong within their games. Which is wrong. Looking forward to a long running game here.
 
That feel when you are typing up your next post but then there were various edits to previous posts and also in the time of typing there are additional posts that one needs to account for as it changes what you intend to write a bit. But I got there in the end.

Also just so you're aware the whole threatening Rosario for possible dissidence was fine but just, like, wait until she shows actual dissidence, okay? Try to keep it in your pants, we can work together on this.
