Here are some Bio-E rolls. First, your Mantis Cannon.
4d8+40 = 67 (27 on the dice)

Now, for your armor.
5d6+20 = 40 (20 on the dice)
Sherwood Sherwood Dice rolls for Bombardier O.C.C., please?
+1D6 P.S.
+1D6 P.E.
+2D6 Spd
5D6+20 BIO-E for selections from Eyes/Sensory Enhancements
1D4x10+10 BIO-E for Biological Defenses
Handheld Weapon BIO-E: 8D6
Money: 1D6x100 in precious metals, relics or trade items.
6D6x10 in credits.

Let me see what all that looks like and then I'll ask for rolls from Skills?

I get what you're saying. If I did incorporate that, it would be a npc thing that is very rare. I'm probably going to pass on the psi powers, though.

So I don't want Psi powers directly....

But I do think it's something worth touching on, the whole setting is about biological equipment, our armor is alive.

It even influences us mentally, certain upgrades or options (Like a carnivore armor) will change the person inside it.

And the war mounts have an intelligence score and can operate on their own. Zephyrs which are said to be "Robotic" eventually learn to dislike robots.

There is kind of a ghost in the machine vibe going on, which I think is something on a theme of the setting with the aliens influencing humanity in various ways as well.
It's also a theme I want to play with.

I'd love to see "Equipment" with it's own personalities, that's something humans feel like happens even with metal, with a living gun you can bet the humanization is going to be insane, but also maybe a little bit more accurate.

I'm still wondering if a cowboy/good ol' Southern boy is the way to go for a character design. I like the idea because it gives the character a strong foundation (family). Bombardiers have the same code as Dreadguards to follow,* so I want a character who's been "raised right" and knows the value of fealty and loyalty to one's family, house, and Warlord.

Bombardiers ride around on something called Mega-horses, right? Cowboys and horses sure go together.

Everyone gets a horse kind of. Cars are not a thing.
However those values are a huge part of the setting, (It's often expressed as a Samurai style thing) and playing with them in anyway is very thematic.

Yet again I have a question.

I am legion page 84, has a demolitions specalist OOC called the sweeper.

Since one of my two ideas at the moment is a heavy fortifications guy and the other is an hotshot pilot, I'm wondering if sweeper would be acceptable. It doesn't do anything weird really, but it can spend Bio- to be capable of making it's own explosives.

I will allow a Sweeper if you want to go with one of them.

Just feeling it out I'll try to sit down friday and put together a sheet or two for the party to discuss.

Some of it's explosive options are great but it does lack direct combat capabilities.

Putting together my monster:

First Roll BIo (E) the same with any mount.

Future rolls will include the specific mount:

Lets toy with the Griffin Rider if I also roll a zephr I'll use a newer post.

Thanks for rolling for me again. =)

Sherwood Sherwood I've got some background and cultural questions for you. Get ready!

I get that the Kraken is only one-tenth of its intended size, but is this where our characters were raised most of the time? Is it like a "mini-SDF-1" or something?

Were we raised on the ship? The shorelines? Underground or all three? Or something else entirely?

What languages and lore would be beneficial?

I'm asking this because I want to create a lasting character. I don't want a Frankenstein collection of numbers on a page. Instead, as always, I want something I can learn from. Be a little wiser for having played it.

Right now? I've got a good-hearted cowboy who is among the elite. He's a Bombardier and fresh out of training. A complete novice.

He's also a young guy, has three cats (Bo, Luke, and Daisy of course). He comes from a strong family foundation that might have lived for generations in Kentucky or Tennessee were this on a world that we know to be Earth.

He studies martial arts and science. He is very comfortable around animals and they tend to like him. He feels his mantis cannon, Callsign Ogre One but playfully nicknamed "Oaf" is just that - slow, dumb, and packing power that anyone with a working brain had better respect.

Given that he's stationed on the Kraken, he's taken up swimming and maybe SCUBA. He keeps fit and enjoys staying healthy. All of these things help keep him confident, and mentally, physically, and spiritually well-balanced.

He has the same fears that anyone who hasn't seen action has. How will he do in combat? Will he help his team out like he wants to or will he let them down? All these things will be answered in time. But only experience can teach it to him.

Welcome to first level! =)

How does this sound so far? Any thing that sticks out?

To add onto that can you tell us a little of your intended plot. I'd hate to make a guy around fortifications and then never build them because we are doing hit and runs forever.

Doing outrider in this post since it's directly below the Griffon:

Rolls are

The Kraken is a warship, not a civilian vessel, so you would not have been raised on it as a child. You will be stationed on the bio-ship as your first major posting. Growing up, you lived mostly underground in the various safe havens that the Resistance have carved out, and the only times that you have been to the surface is in the course of your military training, getting you acclimated to the huge, wide open spaces of the surface. Agoraphobia is a real thing in this setting with everyone living and working underground, and the Resistance needed to know if you would freeze up or panic the first time you were out on the surface or in the water. The cats won't be with you on the Kraken; it is strictly a warship and does not house pets, unless you count Gorehounds lol.

To add onto that can you tell us a little of your intended plot. I'd hate to make a guy around fortifications and then never build them because we are doing hit and runs forever.
You are going to be doing a lot of traveling, so making a character with a focus of being sedentary will not be the most useful. One of the things you'll be doing is hunting down an intelligence source that has been providing info to the Resistance about several attacks that the Machine has performed on various Resistance cells. How did this source find out about the attacks? Is this a trap? Stuff like that.

Damn I love the combat engineer but it sounds like I'm taking to the skies. I get to be our transport.

Ignore the roll, I thought I missed the total number of stats.

Well, sky travel sometimes. You are still safer underground, with the Machine having such strong control over the surface of the planet. But a transport War Mount can be a good thing even in the sewer lines that the Resistance use.

So does that mean that you're taking a Dracos as your War Mount? That would certainly be able to carry all of us, including the Mantis Cannon(s) as we go.

The zephyr can carry us all.

I doubt Sherwood would accept a dragon or a badger.

LOL! =)

My character likes canines too! I'm seriously considering taking cooking so he can cook jerky treats for his carnivorous Mantis Cannon(s). The Mantes are dumber than rocks, but they can tell a treat from regular food, right?

I was going to do the same thing with amber host armor upgrade. Since it's biological some mounts or pets can eat the mdc amber.

Sure. I'll go with that.

Really? Good to know! I haven't gotten into the biological upgrades yet.

Sure. I'll go with that.
Cool!

Does anyone else find it totally neat that a group of mantes are sometimes referred to as a "congregation?"

It's a really versatile upgrade and yeah you can use it to feed an omni or herbivore
Mirgris Mirgris Psychie Psychie What kinds of body armor metabolisms are you looking at?

EDIT: Bombardiers get Living Armor, not Host, so I'm asking mostly to see what lifestyle changes we all might have to make (say, if somebody goes photosynthesis). =)

I went with Lithovore for the seismic senses that the particular Host Armor gets. It eats rock, so does that make me a stoner? Lol

As an actual stoner. I dub thee an honorary member.
Mirgris Mirgris This surprises me. Not that you chose a carnivore or that you're a stoner, but that you didn't choose herbivore so you could find the best grass in the game! Ha ha!
