Futuristic Space: We'll Figure This Out (open)

A rag-tag crew, a stolen ship, lazer guns, bounty hunters, distant planets, aliens, and an AI that may or may not be homicidal. The recruitment poster said, "crew wanted", but the rest of it was kind of implied.

-Thread will fully start later-

CREW WANTED!

All positions open, no government involvement, and you would get to travel in what is currently the fastest planet skipper ever made.

Find the owner of the ship in Dock 14

Marcy watched as the young boy eagerly ran off with the flyers. Maybe trusting a small child to create and post those around the city was not such a good idea. Corona Minor wasn't a very big planet, so she wasn't too worried about word getting around. However, she was worried about who was going to apply. The small planet wasn't exactly a savory one, the only reason Marcy had stayed as long as she had was because during the crash she'd managed to seriously damage the warp drive.

Then again, dock 14 wasn't very savory either. It was in a more secluded part of the major city that Marcy hadn't bothered to remember the name of. It was a decent enough hangar, but it was lit like it was meant for more nocturnal folk. Marcy pulled on her goggles, made specially for working in dark places, they probably cost more than she was worth not that she noticed when she picked them up. She didn't mean to steal them really, they were just in her hand as she left the store, and again when she got home. Besides who would have put the orange lenses to better use. She didn't mind that they gave the world a very orange hue, they worked so well. But maybe a little to well. Marcy could clearly see the rodent like creatures scuttling about the dock, and cringed at the thought of them touching her ship. Thank goodness she remembered to close and lock the air locks.

With a heavy sigh she turned back to the outside of the engine. Marcy was currently sitting on the roof of her beloved ship, her left arm drenched in grease, even under the coveralls, and her right buried elbow deep into the now cooled warp core. She frowned at a stray wire. So much for the perfect ship. Seemed like the authorities had managed to mangle it a bit before she could get it back in her control. She wanted to scream. No one hurt her baby. Marcy pushed the thought away and went back to work, the ship wasn't going to be able to hit warp speeds on it's own.

(Post lengths can be as long or short as you like. This is a bit shorter than I usually post, but that's just because I suck and intros. Come on everyone! We've begun!!)

Arubion would see the flyer and begin to walk towards the Direction He thought the Ship was in.... While walking around He'd pickpocket a couple of Security Passes off of Some Patrol. Then he'd be walking and Three burley people would surround him. He'd see them and would start to laugh.. "Going to Jump Me Eh?" They'd attack him and He'd Easily Dispatch the Three who were attacking him. He'd then Continue to walk till He got to the Ship... When He got there he'd Be sitting on a Crate by the entrance to the ship waiting...

And there Craig sat, beneath a drainage grate, trying out his newspaper hat for size. It wasn't very warm, and it certainly didn't do anything to keep the liquid that falls from the grate above out of his hair. It was a little crappy to be honest. In an fit of anger at his incompetence with making paper hats, he tore off his makeshift cap, and threw it to the ground, and began to tear it to pieces, shrieking all the while. But suddenly, he stopped. A dim ray of light filtered down from beyond the grate, and illuminated the header on the tattered page. "ew Wanted!" it said. Puzzled, he stared at the page trying to make sense of the letter, when he finally realized that he managed to tear it in his tantrum. Perfect, just perfect. He emitted a low hiss, got down on all four, and began to scour the drainage pipe for the missing slip of paper. After a minute or two of grabbing at mud, he finally found the damp scrap of paper he was looking for. "Crew Wanted!" the page now said. "Crew... Wanted... Something something, don't care, wait, all positions open?! Dock 14?!" he muttered to himself as he read the page. Well, mutter might've been an understatement. His shouts were still reverberating off the drainage pipe's walls. But he didn't care, this was his chance! Excitedly, he retreated back into the sewers, navigating his way through the murky depths, until he was directly under what he thought, no, what he knew was the residential docking bays. He quietly moved aside the manhole cover above him, leaped out from the sewers, slid the manhole back, and immediately ran towards the nearest wall. He then crept along the wall like a blind mouse in an attempt to meld with the shadows until he finally found himself in Dock Fourteen. As he stealthily shuffled through the dock's entrance, he saw a peculiar many-tailed creature with sun-bleached features sitting on a crate. At that moment he stomach decided to growl, and he felt the shiv holstered at his side grow mighty friendly with his hand, and he imagined how exotic the meat would taste... but he staved off the hunger. He mustn't get greedy now. This was his chance to get off this rock!

Arryn stared deep at the poster, which would probably serve as her ticket off world. (Probably). She didn't really like Corona Minor, well, there were all kinds of aliens, but they were all sentient and boring. She had nearly gotten raped three times! Three! That was blasphemy, and Arryn wanted off as soon as possible. This place gave her the creeps, and Arkos was chastising her every second she stayed on this rock.

With a sigh, she approached Dock 14, before hearing a familiar and deep voice coming from within her head. "Are you sure you can trust them? They may be pirates like the last group, interested in nothing but explosions", Arkos would inquire as she stopped at the Dock's entrance. Arryn giggled a bit, before sliding her eyes at the multi-tailed one, and then glaring. "Arkos, vision, please?", she asked in a sing-song tone. A few seconds afterwards, she blinked and opened her eyes to a sort of x-ray vision, scanning every organism within the dock, before closing her eyes again to return to normal. Arryn nodded at the A.I in the back of her skull, and began strolling into the Dock.

"Situation?"

"
A girl on top of the ship. Alien life form near it. Lots of rodents, a big one too."

"Caution, the Alien looks dangerous."

"I know that, Arkos, but he just looks so interesting. All those tails, but what for? He looks kind of thin too, do you think he gets the right nutrients that his species need? I wonder if he's ever flown a ship before, do yo-", Arryn would inquire to Arkos, who look frustrated hovering above her shoulder, before she looked up to see Arubian just a foot from her face. She blushed, before smiling. "Hello!"

Arubion would look at the Two... He'd look them over... "So.. A Girl with a Ai.... And a Rodent that Is Lurking from the Shadows...." He'd sigh... Then look at them with his Gold and Blue eyes.... "Yo...I expect your Here for the Ship....." He'd then study the area...

"Oh, uh.. yeah! Pretty eyes, do they do anything special? What're those tails for?", Arryn began inquiring, Arkos standing and looking around as he hovered above her shoulder. The figure of him was maybe a little below a foot in height, resembling a tiny holographic Sorian standing there and glaring about, fake Sorian Knight armor resting on his body. Arkos continued to scan the area as Arryn inquired.

The excited girl got even closer to Arubion's face, staring into his eyes with an unnatural intensity. She really wanted to know what those were for. Night vision? Maybe some kind of heat sensor? Ooo! What if they were just some sort of birth disorder!?

Arubion would Blush as the girl got to close... "My Gold eye is a Highly Advance Cybernetic eye.... And My tails are what I was born with.. My species is normally born with 1..." He'd then notice how cute she is.. He'd be scanning her AI to tell what it was... "Your a little to close... I am nervous when girls get this close...." He'd stare at her Body.. And would look back into her eyes...

Craig hissed at Arubion, and with the most accusing tone he could muster, bellowed out. "Oi! I'm not a rodent! I'mma' force a' nature!" Unfortunately, he didn't give this action much thought, as it completely nullified the whole "sneaking" route he had planned out.

He shot a final leering glance at Arubion, and trodded out from his darkened corner, and out into the middle of the room, in which he immediately almost runs straight into Arryn, or as he now prefers to call her, "Some blind jerk!" "Ey sunshine! Mind eh, watching where yer trampin'?" he said, as he backpeddled away from Arryn. She was a little bit taller than him, at this prospect scared him. The tall bugger was probably going to try and step on him when he's not paying attention!

Arryn turned as she got even closer to Arubion's face, before backing up and turning completely towards Craig with an apologetic look on her face. "Ah, sorry sir. Say, what species are you? You look really interesting...", Arryn said with a mad-look in her eye, as if she was planning to dissect him or experiment on him when he just doesn't know it. She shook a bit, before Arkos intervened. "Arryn, stop being creepy!", he said with a growl. "Or I'll do some calibrations in that thick skull of yours." (Hehe)

"You're no fun, Arkos...", the girl complained to the angel-like figure nearby her head.

Arubion would relax as she got further away from him... He'd then Continue Scanning the Ai... "Arkos... You seem to be pretty inferior... In terms to Other AI... You are also probably made 28 years ago...."

"Hey! Who're you calling inferior? I'll have you know I'm worth five billion credits! This girls parents spent a fortune on me, and to good use! My superiority is only shown off by my Sorian body, which is clearly greater then any organisms that dwell on this dirty rock. Don't you dare lay a filthy hand on Arryn, or I'll personally wreck you harder then a Sorian Warship!", Arkos burst out rather quickly, crossing his arms and glaring over at Arubion. He blinked from Arryn's left shoulder to her right, to get a better view. The A.I began to grow slightly red, his body becoming distorted as the image shook and began to static. It then returned to normal as he made some sort of a sigh.

"I'm Arkos. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Craig visibly hesitated when the woman began to question him. He briefly glanced at her eyes, before immediately darting his gaze away. "Mum always told me 'bout the crazies." he quietly whispered to himself, as he reminisced of the few lectures by his mother that he actually paid attention to. He pondered how he was going to answer this question, before suddenly, inspiration struck!

With a quiet metallic noise, he drew his shiv, and waved it above his head before shouting "Stay away from me, ye crazy! I'll cut yah!"

Craig was satisfied. That seemed to do the trick.

"Clearly Inferior... Your Intellect is horrible... I also have all the Data on you already..." As soon as the Rat Pulled the Shiv, Arubion had already disarmed him... He'd look at the Disarmed Rat... "Don't Threaten a Girl.... " He'd toss the shiv back and Climb back on the box....

"Uh, uh uh!", Arryn would panic as the two began to fight, Arkos clearly engulfed in rage as he hovered above her shoulder, glaring over at the two aliens. The human girl began to giggle a bit, and Arkos returned to normal. She then whispered to him, her left hand covering her mouth.

"What if he has space rabies?"

Arkos began to laugh loudly, and Arryn giggled beside him, not minding the fight that had gone on. She then eyed Arubion, and looked back at Arkos, who was already back to glaring at the multi-tailed freak of nature. She sighed as she watched the holographic hover upwards and downwards, staring at the boy with an expression that read, "I'm going to murder you in your sleep."

"Sheesh, just get along."

The knife had long since disappeared from Craig's grip, but he didn't seem to notice, or more importantly, care. He continued to wave his fist around in the air like a very angry kite, whist hissing and clacking his teeth together. Soon enough, however, Craig felt the weigh, or lack thereof of his hand, and looked up, only to see that his shank had vanished into the aether.

He sheepishly withdrew his hand, and began to slouch slightly, whilst whispering words of hate under his breath. With a quick look over his shoulder, he had confirmed that his knife had seemingly teleported two meters away. He quickly slunk off to retrieve it.

Arubion would look at the Ai... "I'll Dismantle you Arkos... Anyway... I am not fully a Alien... I am closer to a Human then you'd think..." His Gold eye would Brighten then dull... His tails would be waving around...

Arryn would look back at Arubion, slightly interested as he went on. "Tell me about it", she would demand of him, almost tearing out a large journal from her backpack. It comically appeared as if Arryn shouldn't even be able to hold the large object, but she easily flipped it open, a pen in her hand as she looked back up at Arubion with a grin. "Do your tails make certain movements to display emotion?"

"Well I am technically something not able to be explained by technology... I am what you could say Mystical In Nature... My Species is what Humans of Old would Call Demons... and Yes.. My Tails do move on command and would depending on my Emotions... So If I get excited they wave a lot..." He'd be a bit embarrassed talking with the cute girl...

Arryn wrote it down, before staring up again, beginning to sketch out a model of Arubion as she did so. She wondered if he was the one who was looking for crew, or if it was the rat-alien. Maybe it was that strange girl sitting on top of the ship she had spotted earlier?

"Interesting.."

Marcy raised her head slightly, wiping the sweat off her brow. Warp Drive, fixed. She shoved the panel covering it back into place and let out a sigh of relief. Now she just had to fix the-

A loud bang sounded from the gunner mount. Marcy quickly got to her feet and ran over. One of the shells had gone off prematurely, luckily everything else seemed untouched...except the gun itself, which now had a hole she could fit her head into.

"Oh son of a-!" Marcy shouted, throwing the welder on the ground in anger.

Arkos blinked away from Arryn's shoulder, who continued to draw Arubion. He re-appeared nearby Marcy, now sized like a normal Sorian, perhaps seven feet in height. The A.I, amused, looked over at Marcy as he hovered. "A rogue shell? Ah, that's unlucky. Did you forget to disarm it..?", the holographic alien inquired as it floated nearby the frustrated Marcy. Arkos examined the damage with an inquisitive look on his face.

So this is our recruiter, eh? That fox alien can't be it, he doesn't appear as desperate as this girl.

"Ow!" Craig shouted as the welder hit him straight in the forehead. While the other two aliens decided to "mingle", Craig had crept over to the ship, and began looking for things that weren't nailed down. He'd started with nicking all the bolts from the panel that Marcy had pried out, but was rudely interrupted by a sudden welding-tool to the face.

"Holy!" Marcy lept out of her skin as Arkos spoke. Up until then she hadn't noticed the new comers at all. "Ah! Good god!" She mumbled, holding her hand over her suddenly racing heart. She took a second to calm down before turning to Arkos. "What is wrong with you?! You can't just do that to a person! Ugh. Okay, no, okay, I'm good now, no more heart attacks please. And for your information these are old fashioned shells, the only way to disarm them is to use them. Though, there won't be any of that until I get this fixed." She sighed, knowing she needed to go get her welder. She tried to calm down, wanting to be polite, "Sorry. I didn't mean to yell, just a little on edge. Now, my name is Marcelline, this is my ship. And who are a--OI! You! Rat, you keep pullin' those bolts and I promise you'll regret it- Now, who are all of you?" She turned back to Arkos, looking over his shoulder at the others.
