you see in the game the crew is mostly mixed, with schroder being the most fanatical.
Hartmann is pretty chill.
Kertz is annoyed of schroder.
But Muller is truly the concerned one and wonders why he even joined in the first place.
This is Battlefield 5, which takes place in WW2.

However, Battlefield 3 takes place in 2013, and you play as a tank commander named Miller. Muller actually had kids either at the start or end of the war, and Muller's bloodline is not lost.
