Futuristic Shattered Galaxy: Maiden Voyage (OPEN, Captain needed)

All of a sudden he felt light headed and then he felt twitches all over his body. the twitches grew stronger and stronger until he was spazzing all over the room. he gasped "siezure" and then passed out. he was dead...

(All thoughts, this is not being said out loud)

He'd watch as the rest of the crew introduced themselves then thinking about each one and how he'd be working with each of them, he's seen weirder, but this one is something special.

First off is the weapons officer robot, he has never been alright with the freaky robots from different sectors, so he's probably not going to get along with the droid that well. Although if he wants to keep his hotshot A** in place, he shouldn't piss off the weapons officer... Or...

The 'Heavy Support' would also be a bad candidate for his to piss off, as she doesn't seem like a weakling with her giant armour suit, and what seems to be some sort of intense kinetic force fist... thing. Though hopefully, he won't have to deal with her much as he will be in the cockpit most of the time, and she'll be, well, doing whatever a boarding team member does during their downtime.

Next up is the Captain, Captain Edward. The captain seems like an all around nice guy that wants to get things done. So he'll try and be on task when the captain is around, because as much as he may want to get a bit lazy, still wants to get paid, and slacking off near the captain won't help him in getting paid.

The Chief engineer seemed to be one of those 'so skilled that they slack off' types, he hasn't gotten much information from her, but she'll be in the engine room nearly all the time anyways, so it's not too important he gets along with her.

The Science officer seems like a smart girl, seems pretty neat, but nothing to be worried about. He's not too keen on science, though, so if she starts a sciency discussion he'll just have to nod along awkwardly.

Then there is the weird looking pale skinned guy, he's still a little confused as to what that guy is going to do.

Lastly, there is the communications officer, he'll be working with her a decent amount probably as the ship's communications systems are probably near the pilot's room, although if not, he'd still have to ask her what to do when in contact with another ship, whether he should move past the ship, pull up to the side of the ship, or just plain out shoot it. To be honest though if there is anybody he'd want to get to know better, it'd be her, as she seems pretty interesting, while not being a freak show.

Either way, right now he's just waiting to see what he's going to be doing and where he's going to be flying(All thoughts, this is not being said out loud)

He'd watch as the rest of the crew introduced themselves then thinking about each one and how he'd be working with each of them.

After thinking all of these things, and what he's going to do, his eyes follow the spasming body of the pale-faced man

Fade walked over to the spazzing pale-faced person and gave him a quick electrical shock. The man was still dead. The robot looked up at the others. "Just in case. It is your custom to give people electrical shocks, thus bringing them back from the void, correct?" He got up without waiting for a response. "This body is of no more importance. I shall take it to the incinerator." He hesitated. "Permission to take the body to the incinerator, Captain Edward?"

Edward blinked a few times before he could fully register what had just happened. Mr.PaleFace as he liked to call him, had suddenly undergone a spontaneous seizure before collapsing to the ground. The weapons officer then proceeded to attempt to defibrillate the man. There was no response. Upon the robot's request to dispose of the body Edward answered, "Not yet. I'm going to call medical, we'll use the incinerator after the autopsy." He then pulled out his portable radio, switched channels, and held it to his lips. "This is Captain Edward, I have unconscious man who has just suffered a seizure. Defibrillation did not work, we are requesting a medical dispatch to Starbase 4, Sector 5. The man is located in Briefing Room 3 along with the rest of my crew. Over." The sound of static filled the room as Edward waited an answer. After a few moments, a female voice came out of the pager. "Your request has been received, we have a forensic team en route to your location. Over." Beep. The connection was severed as Edward turned off the receiver. He looked at the man once more. He hadn't the slightest idea of what had happened.

Jacqueline stared at the pale form on the floor, and idly shifted her weight from one leg to another, prompting a whirring sound from somewhere within her frame.

"Even if he's not dead, I don't think he's fit to serve if he has seizures. We don't need people dropping whenever they see a flashing light or things get too stressful." She crossed her arms, producing a faint sound of metal grinding on metal and explaining the scuffing of the camo-green paint around some points on her arms. I've seen drafted civvies that look more ready for a fight than this guy. We'd better not be depending on him for anything. She left her scornful thoughts unsaid though, and instead turned to Fade. "If we DO need to incinerate him though, I can help you bring him over. I'm good at heavy lifting, and I get the feeling that we're going to be carrying him in one sense or another."

Trisha watched the events unfold in an absentminded state, the incident happening across the table from where she stood. The emo haired man had dropped from a so-called seizure and everyone, well the two mecha members were already issuing extermination suggestions. The gravity of the situation did not seem to hit her like the rest of them. She presumed it was a prank after the captain called him "Mr. Paleface". Though the fallen man did not seem like one who would jest like that, seeing as his attire was all armor and his features exuded serious business.

It was not until the forensic team entered the room that the situation took a grave turn. The room felt smaller as the medical team looked over the fallen figure on the ground.

A little astonished at the man falling to the ground, Andrew would sit back and observe with a casual expression on his face. He seemed to be not at all unnerved by the man falling, and instead would roll his eyes a little annoyed the mission has been delayed. As the forensic team marched in he got even more disappointed, this secret mission being performed by a bunch of interesting misfits, is being turned into a medical drama.

After a few more minutes of waiting, Commander Horn finally arrived. He was smartly dressed in a pressed blue uniform with brass buttons and numerous service decorations, giving the impression that he was as experienced as his title suggested. Word around base said he was selected by a few men at the top who wanted someone 'safe' here on Starbase 12. He certainly looked the part. Horn coughed into his fist. "Well now, aren't you a motley crew. The Subarashii won't move itself, so get going." Commander Horn escorted them to the hangar bay. The doors slid open.

The Subarashii herself awaited them. Horn reached out to touch her wingtip. She felt so alive beneath her clean ebony skin, so warm and powerful, that he suddenly pulled back his hand as if from a contained predator. She stretched all the way from the back of the bay to the launch pad, hiding awesome weaponry and pure technological power beneath her black armor. Thick metal cords crossed everywhere to suspend her in midair, seeming to restrain her from bursting through the bay doors.

"What do you think?"

Before they had carted the pale man, the forensic men had spoke to each of the crew members to get an accurate account on the events that took place to help them. Then forensic team had taken Uldrev away to the Starbase 12 morgue to find out what caused his sudden death.

Not even two minutes later, Commander Horn arrived. She knew many rumors that revolved around the high ranking man; that he climbed Mt Everest when he was seven, he had stared at a comet until it exploded to billions of peaces and fought a galactic armada single handedly. Though there were those that were unpleasant, and most likely false, such as having the Force, banned from Florida for beating their national animal and secretly tattooed the solar galaxy on his butt. Trisha shivered in disgust at the last one, conjuring up the image in detail while she faced his backside.

She had lost her sense of direction upon seeing the ship, The Subarashii; the Holy Grail of ships in her opinion. If she knew how to whistle, she would have been doing it that very instant as if it were a fine ass looking lady. Trisha felt elated and wanted nothing more than to be aboard. If the outside was this sleek, she could only imagine what was in store for the interior.

On hearing the commander question their input, she whipped her head to face him. He had an all knowing grin that meant they would all be at a lost for words. It was all fine and dandy until her curiosity won her accepted formality. She moved away from the middle of the group to the front, meeting face to chest with the respected Commander Horn.

"So when can we go inside it?" Her tone rather candid and full of barely contained euphoria. She was flying with the big boys now.

As commander Horn entered and led them to the hangar, Andrew followed in with his typical half-slouched posture. But as soon as the doors opened he nearly drooled at the sight of this ship, it was sleek and seemed very powerful. He could only imagine what things lied beneath the smooth exterior, maybe a nuclear fusion power system, a plasma based FTL hyper-drive, and possibly a pair of Anti-Ship magnetic Force rail guns, but that was all a dream right now, he just wants to figure out what really lies in the ship.

After dreaming about the ship, he'd snap back into reality and make sure his pilot suit was ready in his bag just in case he would need it for the flight, as well as a pack of cigarettes a lighter, and a picture of himself to make the place a little more comforting. After all of this he'd finally speak up, trying to sound like the ship was only ok, "So we're flying in that thing? It's nothing I haven't seen before but it'll do"

Erika walked with the others to the hangar. Her walk was slow, slouched, glaciarly, and she barely kept up with the group! When she saw the ship, there was a spark in her tired eyes as she looked over every inch.

"Impressive..." she said in a slightly less toneless voice. It was indeed impressive, and she looked forward to all kinds of monkeyings around inside that shiny hull. A new ship was a lump of clay to be molded, tweaked and tuned, and she would be the artist.

Horn nodded. "Yes, we are flying this ship and we can go inside right now. The docking port is right over there." On cue, the docking tube extended out to the platform. Horn stepped inside. The interior was just as advanced-looking as the outside, basically one long hallway with clean white walls and sky-blue holopanels in the workstations. Doors to the various rooms were on either side of the hall. The walls turned a friendly dark green color when they entered. "Personal preference," Horn noted. The command station was arranged as expected, with a pilot and copilot seat at the fore windscreen, officer stations along the sides, and the captain's station in the center of it all.

Fade walked at the same pace as the captain, and as soon as the docking tube extended from the ship he walked briskly to the bridge to examine the weapons station. It contained a myriad of options such as long range missiles, charged particle cannons, disintegration beams, space mines, and a few others that he didn't look at. When the captain stepped on the bridge, Fade said, "The weapons capabilities of this ship are satisfactory."

He'd walk in eagerly, excited to get at all the bits and bobs at the pilot's chair. Passing the captain and Fade, he'd go straight to the pilot's seat and set up. He'd put a picture of himself on the dashboard, put a pack of cigarettes in the cupholder , and then start playing with the buttons. Making sure he knows what does what, he makes sure not to press any big red buttons and starts up the engine temporarily, just to get a feel for the ship.

"Man, hear that engine, this thing can fly me to the edge of space and back!" He'd spout, still looking wide-eyed at all of the buttons and levers, "Anybody going to be sitting up here with me in the co-pilot's chair?"

Edward slowly left the forensic team to do their work as he followed the Commander into the grand ship. It was unlike anything he had even seen before. He slid his hand along the sleek interior as the group walked through the rooms. He glanced at the various systems and machines scattered throughout the ship. This ship, would be in his charge, and he would make sure that it would stay in good condition. He slowly walked over to the Captain's station in the middle of the ship. He cleared his throat slightly before he spoke,

"The first mission will be a simple one. All we have to do is escort a Federation ambassador to Starbase 12, the border station between the SATO Alliance and the Terran Federation." He paused for a second, making sure that everyone could process what he had just said. "There have been reports of huge technological advances in the Alliance regarding a stealth ship of some sort. It is highly possible that we will be ambushed and we could possibly be even boarded by this stealth ship of theirs." He gave a stern look to everyone in the room to make sure they understood.

"Understood, Captain. The weapons capabilities of this ship appear suitable for our mission, though I will quadruple check the systems." Everyone stared at Fade for a moment, who looked around innocently. "Just in case I miss something, which is practically impossible. It usually makes my superiors satisfied, though I can check it as many times as you require." More weird looks. "Very well. Only quadruple checks." He turned and went to his station, plugging in a connector that extended from his finger, merging himself with the weapons station.

Faye brushed her hand over the touchscreens of the science station. The smooth surfaces caressed her fingertips, sparking anew in her a yearning to explore the cosmos. With one touch, she activated the interface. It all seemed quite intuitive, with a combination of 3d and holographic displays and voice-integrated commands. Faye glanced at the Captain and nodded.

"I'm ready, sir. Can we take off, sir?"

He'd hear Faye in the background and decide to give a... not so elegant response, "Awww yeah we can take off! Especially with a ship like this!" He'd yell to the entire ship, revving the engines, even lifting it a few feet up quickly, like a jolt of movement, with no concern if anyone was ready or not. After he'd do that, he'd let the ship down about as smoothly as how he lifted the ship up a few feet... quickly and with a jolt of movement, he landed the ship from hovering with a little 'Thud' possibly throwing some of the loose items to the ground, and some of the people to their feet. Quietly he'd say to himself, "This ship... this is what I've been needing all these years..."

Edward turned around to face Faye as he heard her chirp out. "It looks like everyone is at their stations, but we have to wait for the ambassador to-" He was cut off as just then the ambassador conveniently came into view. "It's a pleasure to have you on the ship ambassador, please remain seated in the commons room," he said as he gestured towards a lofty room toward the back of the ship. After making sure everyone was ready to go, he looked towards Andrew. "Start the engines and set en route destination to Starbase 12 located on the border," he commanded as he waited for the vehicle to put itself in motion.

Fade's face couldn't move his face to show his emotions, but his concern showed through in his voice as he said, "Mister Edward, shifting the ship in such a manner is not a good idea. I would recommend not piloting the ship in this way if and when we are in a skirmish, as it may throw off my weapons calculations." More weird looks. "Shutting up now." He returned to looking at his systems.

Huffing and puffing all the way to the bridge came the ambassador. His brown coat and trousers seemed barely to contain his substantial bulk, and indeed, some would wonder how even his legs could do so. A golden mustache and crown of tuft decorated his shiny head, complemented by a very fine pair of glasses. He waddled up to Captain Edward and shook his hand. "Thank you so very much, Captain Edward Raswaal! I cannot tell you how delighted I am to be flying aboad such a high-technical space-boat! My, what a splendid thing this is. Being an ambassador has never been so much fun. When do we start?"

He'd loosen up his shoulders, get a little serious for once, and breath a breath of relief and get the ship ready for taking off, first closing the entrance, and then pulling up the landing gear up to start hovering. Jokingly he'd speak into the little pilot mic so that everyone could hear him, "Good evening everyone, this is your pilot speaking, Uhh... today we are going on a top secret mission. Please fasten your seatbelts and keep the tray tables up unless you have something to eat. We will be getting on our way to the specified co-ordinates once the lazy as hell engineer starts up the FTL drive, so I thank you for your patience, we should be making our way soon." He'd turn off the mic, snickering in his seat, and then going on to blasting some rock music in the cockpit, very alike to bon jovi's songs (E.G. You give love a bad name, and Livin' on a prayer).

In that moment, sirens began to blare all over the starbase. Faye studied her control panel. Four...ten...thirty starships and counting entered the system. Their arrow icons pointed at the starbase. She tapped on one to begin scanning it. IFF code S.A.T.O. Alliance, armament six heavy beam cannons, twenty point defense batteries, four torpedo tubes, grade-500 shields @frequency 50. These were battleships. The starbase, with about three times the number of heavy beam cannons and innumerable point defense batteries, could probably hold off a few battleships, but not a fleet of them.

"Captain! Forty battleships are entering the system. This starbase will be space-dust if we don't scram the heck out of here NOW!"

"Captain, my calculations state that our weapons would prove ineffective against a fleet of battleships that size. However, my programming requires me to remind you that you are abandoning an inhabited space station that is overpopulated and does not have enough escape pods to evacuate everyone, and you are thereby sentencing them to death by the S.A.T.O. Fleet's attack. Is there any way that we can assist those trapped on the station?" Fade stared at the captain, the rectangular plates above his eyes tilting so it gave the robot an almost pleading look.

Faye pulled up the stats on the Subarashii's weaponry.

Two heavy plasma blaster cannons.

A multi-frequency gigawatt laser turret.

One hundred Multi-Launch Salvo missiles.

100-megaton impulse drives.

Dreadnaught-grade hex-array force shields.

"Captain..." Faye began.

"I think we can help them."
