If I recall correctly. I think the exact form a weapon takes doesn't matter so much. So long as the mechanics best fit the form you desire. Just as I got a pass for my Dire Lance being more of halberd than an actual Lance or spear. And even then, the biggest mechanic difference between types of weapons is just the tags. Lances and battleaxes are both heavy two handed weapons with same stats, but their tags lets you do different things with them.

Though to that end, perhaps a halberd would have gone more in line with a grimcleaver or grimscythe.

Anyway! I would think whips fall in line easily with the dire chain category. Maybe light for something thing and nimble like a whip, or heavy for massive weapon like an anchor on a chain (which im going to use next time cause that sounds dope)

Whips and fighting chains are both distinctive weapons in the world of Exalted, with them each having their own artifact version (the Direlash and the Dire Chain, respectively).

Yuppers. But they are essentially mechanically the same.

Grimcleaver and Reaver Daiklave have the same size(stats) and the same tags. Making them mechanically the exact same.

Same with Daiklave/Reaver Daiklave and the Grimscythe/Dire Lance.

And you have those with different size and same tags like short daiklave/ daiklave.

My point being that the difference in these instances is flavor. Whether you want to write about swinging a big axe around and a swol scimitar. And how you can fit them into stunts and specialties.

Though in fairness I was wrong about Dire lash and Dire chain being the same. As the Dire chain has the martial arts tag while the Dire lash is melee. But I think that could be worked around with ease.

Shouldn't Sherwood Sherwood get a chance to move first? Tyree's next in the initiative order, unless you're planning to have the goddess do something as a result of Toun and Makuro pwning her.
Yeah. I didn’t mean that it would be the Goddess’ turn. More to keep the narrative going and reinforce the results of the actions that have already come.

Just keep it going, basically.

I didn't realize I was up next. I'll post something for Tyree ASAP.

Well, all I'm going to do at the moment is continue to protect the refugees. I don't see a need to jump into the fight quite yet.

Every action being a two point stunt will do odd things to the willpower economy. We'd have to use two Charms that cost Willpower on each action to ever drain our resources (unless we're defending against a lot of social influence or hostile Charms that make us pay to resist or something). We can roll with it, we'll just be throwing out our biggest moves nonstop.

Yes true. I was wondering something similar as I was reading thought he stunts again.

Perhaps a bad idea. It’s a really tough line to see past in PbP for sure. At the table, I feel like stunts are very different.

I agree with Random Word that assuming rank 2 stunts does weird things to WP economy. It also makes it a real feel-bad if you have to step in and say "no, that was actually just a rank 1. Put that wp back."

Maybe reserve one of the reactions (say "Great Scene") for acknowledging something as a rank 2 stunt? That way you can hand out awards quickly and without disrupting the flow of conversation.

No objections there. In like pattern then, I'd set aside a marker for a three point stunt. Maybe Well-Written for 2, and Great Scene for 3.

As for willpower economy, I tend to spend will to boost rolls often enough I'm not worried as much about overflow, nor do I see the stunt points solely as the willpower reward. Sometimes the feedback of whether I'm taking my writing in the right direction and improving or if I need to try something different next time is more than enough.

I'm also in agreement with only assuming level 1 stunts.

But for me. Its because it will push me to try and outdo my last attempt at writing a stunt. And it will be that much more rewarding when I do write something cool enough to deserve a bit extra.

Besides! This way. If one of us are barely on the edge, you can always justify it as a 2 point stunt to push over the edge if you think the outcome will be cooler or help your story.

Though forgetful me never remembers to add anything from stunts other than the extra die. So being pointed out when I do a good stunt will help me remember. That, and I am often too humble to assume anything I post is above a level 1.

Thanks again for letting me be a part of this game, everyone.

Also, has anyone heard from Epiphany Epiphany ?

I like this idea a ton! I'd like to do it that way. But, do you guys still have the other reactions? I only seem to have "like" and "love". I don't have "well-written" or "great scene".

I think that depends on whether it's a IC thread or OOC/Other Thread.

I might request putting somewhere what each means in a clearly described way and what is rewarded. Perhaps in the intro to CS thread, for easy reference as we adjust our sheets.

Posting tonight! Not much to have Aeliana do in terms of combat, considering a river god has been transformed into a puddle god in the blink of an eye. O_o
