Dice Shadows of the Setting Sun (OOC)

I'll move all the scene setup stuff here for the second scene and beyond so it's more comfortable.

We'll keep just strictly in-character in the Main thread. Sorry, I was going for the more conversational-style scene build-up with scene open.

Anyway, I'll open your scene for you. And I'll play off Sherwood Sherwood 's to start out. Let's do an establishing scene that you guys are going to set out. And then we'll move to a scene after that with you on the move and what you find as you head for Marama's fell.

I don't think Makuro has seen any evidence to disprove that hypothesis yet.

The implication is that, were your character not blessed by the Unconquered Sun and subsequently able to survive jumping into an icy pool, Makuro would consider such a thing suicidal.

He took a seat on the second-floor balcony
Did you want Sigrdrífa to come find Toun, then, or are you waiting for someone else? If you want Sigrdrífa to come to Toun, she's going to sneak up behind him and either pin him (If you want to talk) or throw him over the railing (If you want to briefly fight and then be stopped by someone before we trash the judge's house) by way of greeting.

I figure Sigrdrifa would come to find him when she was ready. Either option would be fun to play out if you think she'd favor one over the other. For the sake of making a decision though, I'll say talk.

Random Word Random Word
I did remove the agriculture thing as part of his backstory a while back. I know it's still being updated. What I've posted thus far should stick. That said if it's just a mocking jab for the sake of a taunt that's no issue either.

I'll have to reply after getting some rest.

Ah! Oops, I didn't realize Arctic Fox no longer farmed at all. Okay, I'll have to think up a different affectionately mocking nickname. Pretend that one is replaced with something that actually makes sense.

Gonna claim a 1 point stunt bonus for the description. Burning 2m for the charm. 5 dice for ability and 5 dice for attributes. That’s 11 dice, rerolling 1s until they fail to appear!
This is close! Minor stunts actually grant 2 dice, for a total of 12 dice here. Major is 2 dice + 1 Success + 1 WP. Defining is 2 dice + 2 Successes + 2 WP. Masterful Performance Exercise also grants a free non-Charm success, so that's 8 successes so far and you can roll one more die.

Thank you! This is quite literally one of my very first exalted rolls in at least 3 years. A bit rusty!

A little behind myself. Busy past few days. But I'll try to have an introduction post up to at least get Afureru into the scene.

Would Afureru's army be allowed inside the city walls or would they have been requested to camp outside? (Of which they would happily do if they were provided a bit of food and drink to distract them from the lack of carousing)

Gonna attempt a Read Intentions here, asking the question of "What does Sigrdrífa like?"
Sigrdrífa is an almost comically open book to Makuro. He doubts she could lie to save her life. She's never really had serious reason to growing up, it makes her uncomfortable to try, and she thinks it's beneath her. She genuinely believes Makuro is an emissary of one of her people's most important gods, and she has a deep cultural respect for what he represents. Her people are descended from Moon-Chosen heroes, and her people feel they owe much to Luna in their aspect of god of survival and adaptability to extremes.

As to what she likes, she didn't lie about that either when she was introducing herself. She likes her tribe and anyone she considers to be honourary members, she likes violence, she likes Toun, and she likes enjoying what she considers the good things in life.

And does that count as a form of "social influence" with respect to Harmonious Presence Meditation?
I don't believe HPM benefits Read Intentions rolls.

One other small detail (mostly for Teh Frixz's benefit). You both made Social Influence rolls of some kind without declaring exactly what you were doing mechanically. I'm guessing Aeliana was Instilling a Minor positive Tie of some kind for herself in Aaki, or possibly everyone in the room. It's ambiguous whether Zoya was Instilling something in Sigrdrífa or Makuro or both. If I'm right and those were both Instill rolls, then they both benefited from your Appearance bonus. You both have 5 Appearance, so if you assume Resolve 3 on your targets (high for a mortal, but often standard for Exalted) then you'd get 2 extra non-Charm dice on both of your rolls. Sigrdrífa has 3 Resolve, for example, while Makuro has 4 so you'd only get 1 bonus die against him.

I mean, yeah. I did see that she had a Guile of 1.

Based on what you've said, I'm gonna go ahead and say that Makuro knows of the Intimacies about Toun and the Thrill of Battle. Those certainly seem like the most useful ones to know about. As for Snow Leopard, odds are he'll have mistaken that spirit for Luna, based on the line "You speak for the Spirit my people venerate above all others". With no Lore rating, I doubt he's going to know the name of every noteworthy spirit and tribe in the area.

I was mostly rolling because jaydude jaydude asked for a roll. I'm not a strong believer in rolling dice against PCs, so take it as you will.

Since Sigrdrífa expressed an interest in having songs sung about her achievements, I came to wonder if the act of writing songs is Performance or Linguistics.
