Fantasy Seiunita OOC

But, think about it, the armour negation is already done by longbows? And again, the price vs. range factor comes into play.

Ahem, the topic for today is: MAGIC IN WARFARE
*magic* armor, and as I've stated the increased power of the greatbow adds a lot to the range of the projectile compared to the standard longbow.

Hmm, you still haven't thought about the hierarchy of clerics and the influence of the Lumin Church yet...

And you haven't given me a list of names for the guilds and corporations of Elysium yet!
Right, sorry, I'll get to that.
NOW SLEEP

Patience is a virtue, I've literally been home for a day okay? Cut me a break.

Ah, not everyone can constantly have their minds on worldbuilding. Usually, I write down notes in my spare time or when I'm not paying attention in class. Problem is that I absolutely have to pass my classes and I don't have enough spare time to relax my brain enough to worldbuild.

As I've stated earlier, a flush of magic armour will drop and de-value normal weaponry and armour, send the economic into disarray, and equip the peasants because their flush decreased their value. Again, consider price vs. range.

Not to mention, that 99% of magic in Elysium is focused on agriculture and technology, because they're a peaceful country.

And this is exactly why I didn't want to get detailed into things, when you start talking about the mundane details like taxes all it serves to do is slow down the creation of interesting ideas. Anyways what exactly do you want me to say? Roughly half the population is magic, we're gonna have a lot of people who will want to enchant their weapons and armor and a lot of people to provide the service, there's not exactly a lot I can do to stop that.

They also have a strong military as it's been discussed already, plus the world is on the brink of war.

Can we take all that we've posted here into the PLANNING THREAD? We'll lose track of all this shit.
I don't see a point, greatbow archers are already a thing, they're in the extra pages and everything.

Roughly half the population is attuned to magic. You don't automatically learn how to enchant armour or suddenly do some fidgety move. You need license, certificate, and university educations. Many factors.

The world is already on the brink of war, and people will start buying normal armour more. The value will increase, and the value for magicks (cumbersome process) will decrease.

Said country is undergoing an urbanization project, and has extremely slow progression.

I want you to explain their existence, how they work, and what they're supposed to do aside from piercing their own armour. The answer is very obvious, you just have to realize it.

You can buy armor, then enchant it, I don't see how that'd be an issue unless you're trying to be all elfy and sing your enchantments in as it's being made because elves are weird.
Besides, of all the possible magics available why would even minor armor enhancements be uncommon? I would imagine every soldier has some sort of magical protection to some degree.

As for why they're useful I know exactly why, they're mobile, easy to set up and take down, quiet and can be deployed anywhere without having to worry about finding stable ground, essentially a middle point between the standard archer and a heavy ballista, we just got so caught on on magic armor bullshit.
