That's honestly counter-productive. Longbows are more efficient, as they can readily pierce plate armour.

I'm pretty sure somebody will invent a proper cannon sooner or later. I was thinking that I could have Sven do that. He gets caught on by the 'guns' used by orcs and 'gunpowder' and then try to turn them to a more efficient weapon.

Plate armour is actually very mobile, since the weight is spread out and absorbed by the entirety of the body. There are also simplistic hinges and such that allow for fluid-enough motor movement.

Greatbows have a lot more power to them to pierce magical armor, plus they have the range advantage.
