Fantasy Seiunita OOC

And who exactly are you to say what kind of RP this is?

Weren't you, just a few minutes ago, saying about how this was about a couple of nations struggling over each other? Don't be a hypocrite, this is a extreme geopolitics right off the bat, doll.

I was giving an explanation as to how the RP works in my own words, you're trying to tell me I should change how I play.

No, I'm stating the realism of this RP, according to its nature which does span countries of epic scale, where most pawns would just be pawns.

And what if I just want to play a pawn? I mean, nowhere did I state that Emilia would actually succeed in anything.

No, I have lots of answer, and I just answered you. It makes you seem more an amateur than a professional debater, and it's a straight-up fallacy, might I add, your inability to keep to the topic.
Really? Because if we're talking about fallacy's then maybe you could cut with the ad hominem?
Besides it's a valid question, who are you to tell me I shouldn't play how I'd like to play? This is shadowz RP after all.

Bitch ass!

Oh also on another note D&D went awesomely! We ended on the wounded wizard, the last conscious member of the party landing a nat 20 on the final enemy in an encounter, freezing him solid and shattering the poor ghoul to sheds. Was pretty amazing!
Gotta love wizards. Glad you had a good time!

I'm merely adopting a utilitarian stance, miss nogood, this is a very theoretical, verbal contention. I simply stated the flaws in your argument, the crux of my argument, and only used your character (otherwise, the matter of your argument, which favoured characterization over world building); I scarcely remember using an 'ad hominem'.

Mind you, miss nogood, don't let emotions come into your stilts, or else it would be a very one-sided debate. This isn't a matter of how you should play directly, it's how the characters should be adapted to the setting — as stated before, favouring world-building over characterization. So far, you're simply and continuously attacking me without providing a viable counter-argument.

Then what exactly are you trying to argue here? Because from my perspective so far all I've stated so far is that I want to play this RP and my character in a specific way and you're telling me that, in your own words "realistically, would only serve to meet a quick death." Which is why I asked just what authority you had to say such a thing, because I'd like to RP in the way I had planned on since this started. I've never really had a huge interest in the higher politics, I don't care about the bigger picture, I'm just trying to write on one character, her experiences and her story.

Then what exactly are you trying to argue here?

Read my words carefully, miss nogood, I've clearly stated the foundation of my argument: Worldbuilding vs. Characterization.

Because from my perspective so far all I've stated so far is that I want to play this RP and my character in a specific way and you're telling me that, in your own words "realistically, would only serve to meet a quick death."

Again, I've readily stated that my reasoning was the adaptability of characters to a high-political environment, and grunts do have a high mortality rate on the field.

Not to mention, the existence of royals themselves. As I've stated earlier, this is clearly in the epic fantasy genre, because it portrays power struggles, nobility, political tension. Not to mention, that a majority of the characters here are not grunts.

Which is why I asked just what authority you had to say such a thing, because I'd like to RP in the way I had planned on since this started.

And which you replied with a red herring, diverting to the topic by questioning the reason, and authority (also bringing a third person here), in asserting my analysis. Without providing any reasons behind why you think the characterization was important, when it was clearly the core of this argument.

I've never really had a huge interest in the higher politics, I don't care about the bigger picture, I'm just trying to write on one character, her experiences and her story.

This is not about wants, this is obviously about whys.

If you're so disinterested in high politics, then you simply should've ignored my dogged view on this RP.

What the hell is going on here?

Eleph, just let Nogood do whatever she wants. Not everybody has to be a politician or a general or a high-ranking official. We can even incorporate lowly peasants into the roleplay as long as they contribute to the story. Also, I agree that people who do play a role in politics will have more significant power in the story, but that power will come at a price. They'll have friends sure, but they'll also have a whole lot of enemies. And most people would get a headache juggling through all these concepts of economics, religion, history, and politics all in one.

People here simply have different styles of roleplaying here, some are serious worldbuilding types like you, me, Ace, and King while others are more casual like Nogood, Skittles, shadow, and Bubblebutt while others still are in between. Instead of pushing people away because they play differently from you, I believe that it is better to accept who they are and live in peace with them.

Eleph, I know that you have a great passion for creating stories and you work harder than the rest of us just so we could create our own world but I must ask you to be nice to Nogood and Skittles and all the other roleplayers. Just be gentle with them, m'kay? Don't worry about confusing them with politics and all these story concepts but make sure they understand your good intentions. I included you here first because you're the person here I know best.

Nogoodname, I'm so damn sorry that you had to put up with us for so long and it ended up with countless arguments that are taking its toll on you. We can get really possessive of the story at times and forget our place here in the roleplay, and its impossible to justify our poor attitude here, but I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive us for being assholes. We mean well, but we sometimes do not see the pain we inflict on others. This tends to alienate ourselves from other people. If this keeps going on we'll eventually find no one to take us in since we've made so much of an ass of ourselves already.

Guys, instead of arguing all day I think I'd rather shitpost instead. How 'bout it? Huh?

Though seriously guys, make love not war!

And on a brighter note, my exams are finally over and so I am ready to fully participate in the roleplay once again. I shall be working on my post later on after the heat has died down in OOC chat and we've discussed plans for more story concepts.

SEIUNITA'S STORY CONCEPT OF THE WEEK

I think we should add at least one story concept per week and incorporate it into the story at that time. Or maybe it should be one story concept per month? Meh, let's just think about it. We should probably separate this into another thread or something so we won't get caught up in the shitposting of OOC Chat. I've been wanting something like that for a while now.

It works like this:

On day 1, we decide what story concept we want to add. Whether we want to talk about religion in the Dark kingdom, Light kingdom, Fire kingdom, or even the Oceanic League. Or maybe we can talk about trade routes between the nations. We can even talk about the lives of the peasants or of accountants, etc. And we can discuss the scientific applications of magic in the daily lives of the commoners. Or the magic universities strewn throughout the world. The number of topics will be endless.

I don't know if we should pick a topic through a vote or if the GM will decide what to pick. We'll still figure it out later on.

On day 2, we probably have decided what topic to pick and we'll start researching on it. Players cannot be forced to work on it if they don't like.

On days 3 to 5, we should have finished the work already or we can add some finishing touches to it.

On day 6, we begin finalizing the concept.

On day 7, we begin implementing the concept.

So once we begin implementing the concept... we can add in magical universities in the roleplay... add trade routes between the Five Kingdoms... add additional factions in the Dark Kingdom or Fire Kingdom or the Oceanic League (seriously Elysium shouldn't get all the attention) ... add festivals and events for the peasants to enjoy... add more races to the roleplay... add more historical information that would be available to all players...

What do you think?

Man, the only thing I thought was that she was like grim, and can take a question straight instead of being flaky and sensitive, but whatever you say, pal.

Huh, maybe we can be more inclusive then. I guess we can attempt to bring the others into the story concept so we won't have to do all the work. But then again I'm having second thoughts, can we really work together in a group? Our personalities are just too different and we're all so weird.

Sure, we can shitpost together and have fun, but to have an actual collaborative work? It sounds overambitious. I'll be calling this off.

But the main thing that should be talked about is how the economy works, trade routes, and maybe a quasi-view into an accountant's life or two. Economy always has been an unusual yet vigorous tilt to the usual fantasy genre, and we should grab that chance.

Only me, you, Ace and a bit of King actually care about the world dynamic — I mean, there's much to be resolved, and so much, that I'm thinking of downright developing a merchant or government official.

I am still reading on medieval economics, but I'll try to give you some of my thoughts on it right now.

One thing I'm trying to work on is how the financial hierarchy works in FK, which actually does need to have a proper government, or otherwise suffer from cataclysmic mercantile revolutions.

Funny, while you're thinking of economics I'm thinking of religion. God, there's so much religious strife going on in southern Elysium. Before we get to that, we must first develop some of the core principles of their beliefs first.

But right now, I have a rogue duke proclaiming the supremacy of the secular world over the spiritual world, several anti-popes with conflicting views of the Light religion, religious discontent among the masses leading to widespread heresy, and religious indifference.

Ah, you know much more than I do, Eleph. I'm often amazed by how much you can do in a few hours when it takes me weeks to get the job done.

I have no real knowledge of how finance and economics work in the Fire Kingdom, much less about how real world economics work.

And even if I do not know about economics, I can always try to work on the different industries the Kingdoms may go into. I may talk about the greatest medieval industry out there, the textile industry, or I could talk about the spread of fulling mills which generated power for machines.

I think I've got it now. I know what I can do.

Eleph, you can work with the numbers and the finances of the entire kingdom. You'll do the big stuff while I'll work on the small-scale businesses and enterprises.
