Fantasy Seiunita OOC

I meant 'what is this actually about as in the story, what sort of characters do we have, and what is currently happening in the story'.

Edit: Yeah what he just said.

It's just you and me now, sock.

Wait a bit while I formulate the details proper-like...

SO there are some kingdoms, and they don't really get along, and then they tried to get along but someone tried to kill all the royalty and so now the kingdoms don't trust each other again.

There, now I actually have to go.

Gotcha, hoss. I'll wait patiently.

I just hope I can play my 'ultra-violent, magic-hating, ubermensch, father-killer' character concept somehow.

Go to the first page of the ooc and all the links are there. If you have any further questions feel free to ask me and I will get back to you as soon as I can mate

What is this actually about, story-wise?

That is, sadly, a weighty secret. We are, actually, supposed to have an over-arching plotline, but it is yet to be revealed as we're still stuck in the sluggish flow of introductions. There's, however, a lot of mini-arcs occurring, interspersed throughout the characters and locations. For example, Jean Morynth, the former king of Elysium, and his attempts to secure an alliance with the fire kingdom; Walter and his soon-to-be bar fight; Emilia and her shocking discovery that demons aren't quite weird as the Elysians tend to gossip and preach about.

As stated earlier, this is a largely political-economical RP with tones of action and epic fantasy in general.

What sort of characters do we have?

Mostly very renaissance-baroque, if you get the gist of it. A dozen or so concepts from the roster:

A deadly, very petty exiled king with a penchant for violence.

A washed-up Lord.

A mysterious bard.

A naive, Templar-esque knight. Very deus vult.

A punchclock minion recently tasked with grave diplomacy.

A pirate with past issues and a series of kids.

And so on.

We're looking for more rococo characters, one that can fit in with the cloak-and-dagger thematic of Jean and his druids. More Elysians, or more mercenary, preferably renegadez.

And what is currently happening in the story?

Introductions, mostly, but a lot of them have to be retconned because of a few players that have dropped out.

This is so fucking much to take in holy shit

Edit: I'm not sure I'm interested.
Don't let elph scare you, we're a pretty casual RP. The story is very sandbox-y with 5 kingdoms who hate each other trying to dominate the world

Make whatever you want, elph is just joking, he's got a sense of humor that's hard to place at times :P

I'm not kidding. We're looking for hardboiled merchants, and I've even ironed out some of FK's details. Still gotta elaborate them more.

The economical state of FK

The finances of the fire kingdom can best be described as shoddy or largely unrecorded — even in mass itemized reports, there are certain difficulties due to unruly overseers or keeper of coins. (If there is any, to be honest.) Financial almanacs are usually kept and maintained by humans officials, due to the scant attention span of orks, and copies are sent to the capitol on a monthly basis; each file registers the common usage of money, of official exchanges, of public expenses, and of road maintenance. (It should be mentioned that most of them are rarely taken note of, since nearly all of the enlisted officials are not seasoned enough in the financial department, nor do they hold mercantile statuses.)

The common currency is silver, often beaten into a flat, circular plate with the vague inscription of the king (ruler?) of that era. International currencies are also accepted, and most bear the mark of the mainland, though some orks have been noted to use other more exotic forms of barter (teeth, bones, junk, etcetera). Those aren't accepted by foreign merchants (usually sovereign accept them, begrudgingly so) who obviously, and brazenly despite the risks, favour international engravings.

The main export of FK is most certainly the quality raw ores, or the skilfully crafted metal sculptures (very, very rare, mind you). There are also merchants that hail from fire kingdom and sell their finery to the other countries, though they're rare (and not orks, especially not them dumb fungi).

All in all, FK is a country with a fairly stable (stable, my arse, it's crude) economical structure.

Says the one who was, until a while ago, failing to provide undivided attention on the matter of our dwindling population.

Windsock Windsock , just relax, mate, and think it over. It's not quite complex, though it's hardly the free-for-all that Good's making it to be. Imagine, Sword & Scale with a dash of swashbuckling and political upheavals. It's going to be mighty fun, I assure you.

Bitch ass!

Oh also on another note D&D went awesomely! We ended on the wounded wizard, the last conscious member of the party landing a nat 20 on the final enemy in an encounter, freezing him solid and shattering the poor ghoul to sheds. Was pretty amazing!

Historical Storyteller Historical Storyteller , and you too, Good, should check out this fairly essential list. For a bit of insider look at how economics should and could work, in an exciting manner, in fantasy worlds:

Except, you can't topple entire nations or companies just by stabbing things — there's definitely, and I say it not leisurely, more to it than what your shallow mind might want you to think.
What if I don't wanna topple nations? What if I just wanna focus on a lone, naive girl as she slowly learns the way the world really works and changes as a person through her experiences? Trying to make the world a better place in the best way she can?

Except this isn't a sword & sorcery RP, that solely focuses on the plight of men and not on nations. This is straight-edged epic fantasy, focusing on worlds and political machinations. A single girl trying to make a difference, realistically, would only serve to meet a quick death.

And who exactly are you to say what kind of RP this is?
