I added a paragraph about them passing through the Fire Kingdom, the whole post isn't really done with in terms of improvement but it's a start.
Seems fine, though just in general I feel like I should give fair warning on your character and killing, because it's going to attract attention one way or another and potentially lead to the death of your characters. Not telling you to stop, just letting you know the risks, Royals are OP and earning their ire means there'll be hell to pay.

Yeah I know.

Royals are the gods of this world, even thinking about fighting them for a single millisecond kills all of your characters off and there is 0% chance to beat them.

I have an idea when it comes to shaping this roleplay's territories regarding Elysium.

In the Light Kingdom, there will be 12 provinces or duchies ruled by dukes. There used to be 13 duchies but the Duchy of Mercia was obliterated during the Great War. Additionally, each duchy will have a total of 4-12 estates ruled by Lords appointed by the local Duke or Duchess.

And I think the current Royal House today has the support of at least 4 of these duchies in the areas near the city of Alisetta, so there will be at least 4 dukes or duchesses that are loyal to the kingdom.

However, the 4 dukes in the North rule a pagan and nationalistic people that are vying for independence while the 4 dukes of the South are currently engaged in religious anarchy...

You can pit duke against duke if you want to get the entire Light kingdom under your control eventually. Also, a duke may control two or more duchies, but will control them with less efficiency unless he delegates tasks to his subordinates. Likewise, Lords can rule multiple estates but he has to set up an efficient bureaucracy to control the local political machinery operating there.

There are three factions in geopolitics.

The first are the Northerners, the remnants of a pagan civilization conquered by the Elysians thousands of years ago. They tend to be lightly populated and rural and not as rich as the other kingdoms. However, they are warlike and their people tend to be fierce and uncompromising. Also, their pagan mages often practice ancient magic from old times, and they use magic that is prohibited by the Light kingdom.

The second are the Capitalists, the surrounding duchies near the city of Alisetta. Their population may be highly concentrated in the city and in towns, but their overall population isn't that high. Since the Royal Government's presence is strong there, they have an efficient bureaucracy and they can collect taxes easily from their citizens. Also, they have a network of castles and fortifications to defend against an invasion, so attacking this area will be HARD.

The third are the Southerners, these are the people who often have to fight off the Fire Kingdom and the Dark Kingdom further down south. As such, they always prepare to mobilize for war and they prefer to keep themselves on their toes. They tend to be the most tolerant sort of folk and have the highest number of heretics since they often deal with members of the Dark Kingdom. Also, this region is the most heavily populated and has much more territory than the Capital and the North.

So the North has the advantage of being warlike and having a diverse range of different magics. The Capital has the advantage of good government and a defensive chain of castles. The South are always prepared for war and they have cultural exchanges with other kingdoms.

And all these regions have their own set of problems.

The North has to deal with the Water Kingdom in naval warfare, and they often have disputes with the Capital over their paganism and nationalism. The Capital is literally surrounded by enemies, the pagan North and the heretical South, so they are so paranoid that they build so many forts to keep from getting ganged up on. They often forge alliances in the North and South so they can pit these bastards against each other. The South has TWO HOSTILE KINGDOMS further south and a paranoid Capital up the North. They might as well side with the Dark or Fire Kingdom if they don't want this bullshit. But then again...

Actually, EVERYONE is surrounded by enemies.

Though the North may not be as rich and powerful as the Capital and the South, but they have less enemies overall. And though the South and the Capital may have immense power, they have to fight a lot of enemies to win.

This will be really interesting to implement, so each Kingdom will often try to get the local dukes of the North, the Capital, and the South to side with them. So people can essentially utilize a "divide and conquer" plan against the Elysians.

And even if the other Kingdoms aren't involved, there will be a ruthless civil war just over the horizon...

"For the North! Kill those oppressive Capitalist dogs and those treacherous Southerners."
"For the Capital! Kill those sinful Northern pagans and those Southern heretics."
"For the South! Kill those greedy Capitalists and those Northern national fanatics."

Yep, it's gonna suck... if you're an Elysian. Oh well, you could always join the Dark Kingdom.

So, instead of trying to remake the civil war.

I'm just gonna go tie a rope around my neck kthnxbye

Listen, before the prologue ends, all the creators of the kingdoms need to decide where their kingdoms are relative to each other and what exists inside each kingdom. As I said before, I can make a decent map. It'll help for the technicalities of travel and other details when things start getting super involved and complex, as I'm sure they will (and they already are).

If need be, I'll elaborate further on.

Diagram Explanation
Here, indicated and emphasized concisely, are the trade routes and territories. The geometry is used purely for demonstration, for the actual land may vary heavily — also, in the actual variation, the primary core of Elysium happens to be connected to the mainland, and that is how it should envisioned as.

The zeppelin-esque formation represents the centre, the capitol, and the surrounding cities. Pastures and rural towns are more long-drawn, and as such, don't belong to the concentration.

The circle below it represents the lower part of the city, the southern city, that's connected to the mainland and the capitol, and also serves as a good bridge from the land to the sea — below it, which its point watches, is the water kingdom, subject to a different analysis at a different time. The water stretches down the southern, spanning the lower sides of the fire kingdom until finally reaching earth Kingdom. Sandwiched between EK and FK is the dark kingdom, on a completely different spectrum from LK, barred by the neutral FK.

The island like formation that juts out from beyond the perimeters, are the largely ignored northern lands — significant distance has instilled wiccan religion into their weak minds. Trade routes are marked by the jagged lines that overlap through the sectors — as you can see, the southern district is more active in trading than its central counterpart.

Each district is controlled by a council of four dukes, which control four separate divisions in their district.

Beep boop, want to do plot/geographical stuff?

My internet is too slow for this shit, and my family wants to go out to visit church.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking of adding more details about the Northerners or maybe more details about the city of Alisetta and other neighboring towns. And maybe I should add religious districts which are commanded by this roleplay's equivalent of archbishops, bishops, and priests. And maybe I should add guilds, fraternities, and other religious clubs... or something like that.

Leave the northern lands to me, you handle the southern lands, and let the original creators keep themselves within the capitol.

This way, everyone's happy.

That, and I plan to have the Blackhand's origins tied with the northern lands — they're really just druids and low-key black magicians.

The interesting thing is, the North tends to be feudal, the Capital tends to be bureaucratic, while the South tends to be more international. I'd say these are the "three worlds" of Elysium, and they often come to clash together whenever the shit hits the fan.

Hmm, all right, I'll work on the South then. Even if they're less crazy and bloodthirsty as the Northerners and less intellectual and rich as the Capital, the Southerners are witty and full of guile.

The history of the South is filled with so many backstabbings that they are just as dangerous to their enemies as they are to their allies. Anybody wishing to enter the South must be as much as a conqueror as he is of a diplomat. If he does well, he gets everyone to fight each other for him. If he screws this up, everyone ends up backstabbing him one by one until he's full of knife wounds.

They're essentially the opposite of the Northerners, who prize loyalty and love for their superiors and subordinates. They are filled with tales of undying love and loyalty for one another, and they with these they can triumph over overwhelming odds and take the fight to the enemy. If you face against the Northerners, it is important to show your love to them and how you are willing to die for them or they'll cut you into so many pieces. If you want their loyalty and love, you must deserve it.

The nature of the people in the Capital? I'll leave that to the original creators. But personally, I envision them as pioneers of the urban world. In their hearts, they believe it is their destiny to make the world a better place, and they are willing to do it at the expense of all other peoples. They are a mix of pragmatic intellectuals and religious fanatics that constantly battle for supremacy for positions of power.

When the pragmatists rule, the cities grow and trade flourishes while there are numerous rebellions and heretical undertakings, these are only suited in times of peace. When the fanatics rule, they raid other territories, quell rebellions, and hunt down heretics at the expense of taxpayers, they are suited in times of war.

There's a check and balance system between the three worlds. If one gets too powerful, there are ways to keep this from getting out of hand. If the North rebels, the Capital can simply get mercenaries from the South to quell the rebellion. If the Capital grows too powerful, the North and South put aside their differences and burn towns and cities to the ground until peacetime. If the South gets too backstabby, the Capital lets the Northerners get pissed off and pillage the richer Southern lands for profit.
