Fandom SAO: The Ages

The Unamed Character

Queen of the Damned
Sword Art Online: The Ages

6 Years after the SAO incident, Everyone had thought they were safe to go back into the virt. gear. It was calm, until "The Ages" released. The same company that had produced SAO had decided that in order to show their apologies for the incident those years ago they produced a new version of SAO, one that brought it into the newest era of the game. The commercial for it was incredible. "Instead of guilds, there were clans and kingdoms. Ranks, Promotions, Kings and Queens. Everything a gamer would want from a fantasy game" The company said at their press conference. Sadly, someone that had originally worked alongside the creator of SAO thought of it as Blemishing his mentors work. He decided to do what his mentor had tried to accomplish all those years ago and created a virus. He placed it into the games data once the game was released. It prohibitted any work from outside forces. The only way to escape, defeat all 100 floors, again. This time it is tougher, because there is no gm as a boss so no way to end it early.

Michi sighs. She is holds her Virt. Gear and looks down at it. She had narrowly escaped Sword Art Online the first time. She was not sure about this one. She sighed yet again. "Nothing ventured nothing gained..." she said to herself as she laid down and put the new version of the virt gear on. The game was already inside the moniter. "Link start...." she said reluctantly and she went into the world of SAO: The Ages.

@Knight Nate @Peaceswore @SdrawcabDaer

Kai sighs as he sits on his bed, the Nerve Gear in his hands. He shakes his head slowly. He wasn't so sure about this. He had been very into video games for a while, and his friends had said virtual reality was all the rage...but this SAO thing he wasn't so sure about. He shook his head again, then placed it on his head and laid down on his bed.

"Link....start."

And he was sucked into the world of SAO....

Thomas just smiled as he looked at the gear in his hands. Placing it on he laid down and smiled. "Link start." He said and with that he was sent into the world of SAO once again.

Mai looked at the Nerve Gear with excitement. This was going to be her first VR experience ever. She had waited for this moment for so long. Finally she would know what it felt like. She put on the helmet and layed down on the bed.

-Link start, she muttered.

Michi comes into the world as she forms from pixels. She looks around at the scenery. The town of beginnings looked like a market place of a kingdom and not like its usual self

Raikou was in his apartment alone, it was his day off from work and he already knew how he wanted to spend it. He didn't have fears of VRMMORPG's like many did after SAO, in a way it helped him fast track his life to a good paying job with a salary he can live off of in his single bedroom apartment. The way it had sharpened his skills so he can compete at tournaments and earn money rewards to by himself nice things such as SAO: The Ages which he gazed at right now. A chance to hone his skills further was far too tempting. So he placed the disc in the tray and closed it before putting on his Nerve Gear and gave the command "Link Start."

Before long he found himself going through the calibration, sign in, tutorial, and finally the importation of his old avatar. He found himself materialized in the Town of Beginnings. He went to his quests to find the beginner quests was his only active quest. He quickly set out to complete it without even accessing his inventory. He figured his should handle the beginner quest with the beginner equipment.

As he entered the game, Kai was forced to picked a character model, which he designed to look like a more rugged version of himself. He chose a starting weapon, the Halberd, and hit continue. A menu popped up asking for a username. He thought for a moment, then put in SolemnJester and hit continue. The game accepted it and dropped him into the world.

He appeared in what seemed to be a sort of market town, rather circular. A memo popped up at the bottom of his screen; The Town of Beginnings. He shrugged as he looked down to himself then slowly began to walk around, seeing what the town had to offer.

Michi laughs. She noticed how everything was different. "Now I have to check something.." she said as she opened her menu. There it was, the log out button. "Okay... it is there...." she said with a smile. She did not want to try it. she just wanted to know it was there. That was her mistake for being happy

Rhodri stared down at the device in his hands, hearing it humming softly in his hands as the charger cable fed it a steady power supply. He ignored the occasional shiver in his hands, though he felt a bit of frustration rise up in his stomach. Maybe it was seeing the machine functioning again that made him so nervous. He could handle the machine when it was off; it had taken a while, but he'd stopped the nervousness that enveloped his mind when just holding the inactive machine. However, that fact didn't make him feel any better. Six years, and he still couldn't get over it. So many other players who had gone through the same thing, and it seemed like he was the only one of all of them that had to go through continuous therapy in order to get rid of the trauma. And judging by the tremor in his hands, even that wasn't working.

He let out a shaky sigh, trying to use the breathing techniques his therapist had taught him to keep himself from getting more nervous. Think logically. There was no reason to be worried. There were so many more laws in place regarding virtual reality, so much more security. It was impossible to create a dangerous game like that again. Impossible. It couldn't happen. Still, he had his worries. And while his therapist had told him that worrying was fine, he wanted to kick himself for the fear that was drying out his mouth.

He shifted, placing the humming machine down on his bed and grabbing his phone. He had to get over his irrational fears, but it didn't hurt to be safe. Shuffling through his contact, he quickly sent a text.

Juro H.
me
I got the new SAO game. I'm diving now.
them
wow, really? i would join you, but commitments, yknow?
them
dinner with the family
me
Right, you told me about that
them
i'll play with you tomorrow, ok
me
Ok
me
I'll text you in like an hour
me
If i don't, come over
them
HAHAHA
them
you think something's gonna happen?
me
No.
me
Just wanna be safe
them
Haha, right
them
go get em

Feeling a little more comfortable with Juro as a safety net (sort of), Rhodri turned back to the buzzing machine on his bed. Nothing was going to happen. Everything would be fine. There was no way.

Breathing in and out once more, he clasped the machine in his hands. He slowly put the device on his head, sinking into the bed as he did so. Once he had calmed his nerves enough, he spoke through his dry throat.

"Link start."

Raikou returned to the Town of Beginnings after clearing the first quest, he had made his way to ths vendors and saw they weren't too crowded. He went to one and sold the beginner equipment and weapon awarded at the end of the first quest. He turned away from the vendors as he felt they likely won't have anything better than what came with his imported avatar from the original SAO. He opened his player menu and went to 'equipment' to equip his armor and sword. He promptly performed a test draw of his blade before returning it to its sheath. He moved on to scouting around, going at the game by oneself is a bad idea mostly, no matter how good a player because even solo players for greater challenges seek partners. Right now he was seeking at least one decent player to help him out because who knows what awaits him between this safe zone and the next one.

Michi had just finished her quest and Brought her stuff to sell. She had been a beta tester because of her dad. Even though all was said and done, she was still scared. ""Looks like someone beat me..." she said with a laugh. "I was about to get another quest, wanna come?" she asked. She had on what looked like a school girl outfit.

You have a character on this account this is compatible with Sword Art Online: The Ages.

Would you like to transfer your character?

Warning: Character transfers are irreversible. Some items or equipment may not be able to be transferred.

> YES

> No

Rhodri blinked at the window that appeared in front of his eyes, not expecting to see it. Transfer his character...? The from the original SAO? Did he really want to do that? After a moment of deliberation, he selected YES. After all, he could always delete the character if it proved to be too bothersome to keep around.

Transferring character....

RATATOSK

Transfer complete. Enjoy the game.

The teacher closed his eyes at the flash of colors that enveloped him as he was transported into the virtual world, keeping his breathing steady. He opened his eyes when he heard the bustle of a market and looked around. The game informed his it was the town of beginnings, but Rhodri could tell there had been several changes made to the overall scheme of the town.

He took a few steps forwards, slowly readjusting himself to the sickly familiar feeling of being in a virtual reality world. His outfit felt familiar against his skin, and he quickly took note that it was the same one the new characters were given at the beginning of the original SAO. First things first, he opened the menu, searching for the log out button. It was there. Rhodri breathed a sigh of relief. Then he opened his equipment, curious to see if his old equipment was still with him. Not much had remained, but he found the clothes he had normally worn in the game. Castagnier's Garb and Aster's Blade, both equibable at level 35. Apparently the character transfer reset the levels as well.

Rhodri let a half smile fall onto his face. He couldn't expect to be allowed to run around the new game on release day with a level 40 character. He'd have to work for that. At least he was given his old equipment and character model.

He wandered around the half familiar and half foreign Town of Beginnings, scoping out the area and the people. The layout had been changed, buildings moved around, but as Rhodri wandered, he would occasionally recognize an area or NPC. Not everything was new, and Rhodri couldn't exactly figure out if he was happy about that.

Michi looked behind her and could not believe her eyes "Hey Rat...... Long time no see..." she said as she whacked him on the back with a swift fist. "What you been doing....... it has been forever..." she recognized his character

"I was indeed in the market for some a party. Pun intended being we are in a market." Raikou replied. As he saw the girl greet another, the other guy also seemed to be using an imported character. They seemed like good allies for the time being atleast.

Rhodri flinched a little upon being smacked in the back, and he glanced over at the 'attacker.' "Don't call me that..." he muttered instictively before he narrowed his eyes a bit, recognizing the other. "Michi...?" He didn't exactly know the other too well, mostly just her username from party information. "Ah, nice to see you..." He ignored her question about his activities, turning to look at her company. "Who's this?"

@The Unamed Character @Raikou Kaminari

Thomas... Or Nether let out a sigh as he finished the first question with utter ease. Having imported his character as well he was already a high level, he didn't have any skills for magic or gun due to obvious reasons, however his sword skill was another matter. Equipping his old armor he also equipped the unique item Darkness Blade and looked at it with a grin. "As lovely as ever." He hummed as he looked at it slowly sliding out of the sheath to see if it was still in good shape and it was. Putting this to the side of his waist he smirked as he walked around a small hum leaving him as he looked for something fun to do

@Anyone

Nether let out a simple sigh as he walked on. "I need something to d-' He before he could finished a voice rung out catching his attention. Blinking he snickered a bit and looked over at the man that was only a few feet from him. "No, I'm not entertained." He said in a joking tone before looking at the trio. "....Hm? You guys don't look like level ones... Are you also imported?" He asked as he looked at them with his side facing them so his blade was semi concealed by his own body.

Rhodri nodded at Marumasa's greeting, but his attention was quickly captured by the newest stranger. He nodded at the question. "Yeah, I transferred... an older character over." He didn't knowwhy exactly, but he didn't feel comfortable telling anyone where his avatar came from. There seemed to be a sort of taboo surrounding the SAO fiasco, and Rhodri had found that more times than not, mentioning his involvement in it caused others to treat him like a glass object. It was all the worse that he felt like a glass object whenever he reminisced on the time.

Michi laughed "Same old Rat....." she said with a giggle "Always one for mysteries... Anyway..... Lets all party up and take on a mission" she said with enthusiasm

Nether looked at them and gave them a charming smile. "Would you mind a forth player to join you? I don't have anything to do at this time so I'm more than open." He said as he looked at the trio.
