Fandom RWBY: Bloody Evolution

Colt got up and was ready to fall back down but he followed everyone to the platforms. Unfortunately he was ill prepared and ended up flying off balance. He ended up having to chop down a few trees trying to slow his momentum down enough to safely land on the ground. He cut his face a bit from he wood but otherwise undamaged. He looked around... This is going to be a while before I get a partner he thought. He started wandering looking for the peaceful signs of life.

Amarantos wondered the woods for a few minutes before sighing.

This is going to take awhile to find a partner. She thought as she looked around, noting with an archer's eye where she could get a better viewpoint. Seeing a tree that could serve as a viewpoint, Amarantos giggled before running to the tree and jumped to the first thick branch that could hold her weight, which wasn't much. Then jumping from branch to branch to the (almost) top. Looking out over the part of the forest she was in, she couldn't but scream in frustration.

"GOD DAMMIT!"

The sound of the platform springing forth vaguely suprised Odesse but she was used to surprises by now. Finding herself soaring through the air a light laugh escaped her lips. The warm morning air caught her dingy blonde hair, whipping it out behind her like a ribbon. The wide sleeves of we uniform fluttered in the breeze as she began to fall downwards and towards the trees. Mid-fall a though occurred to her; she had almost forgotten something important. Reaching behind her she unhooked a white and blue mask from her belt. The mask was designed to look like the ones that Nevermore had minus the coloring difference. Putting it on Odesse grinned. The Grimm mask had been a gift from her friends in the White Fang, a reminder of the cause as stood for and what she was.

Realizing that she would soon have to land Odesse sighed. Not to far ahead of her was a relatively small clearing, a minor gap where the tree did not grow. However judging by her swift descent of she did not do something soon she would end up landing in the trees instead.

"For once these things should be useful..."

Taking a deep breath Odesse closed her eyes. A soft sound like a sail catching the wine cut through the whistle of the air and Odesse felt herself slow slightly. Opening her eyes the female clenched her fists in resolve. In order to land she had relied on her unique trait as a avian-type Faunus, her wings.

The wings themselves were rather unimpressive, barely exceeding the length of her arm span and none to powerful. However the soft white feathers glistened in the light. Bearing her wings once to gain speed Odesse glided towards the clearing. Once above it she tucked her wings dropping into a spiral as she quickly descended head first towards the ground. At the last possible moment she outstretched her wings to their full span, catching an updraft that slowed her and allowed her to right herself before landing daintily on the ground. Folding her wings back into the space between her shoulders she looked about her.

"Well... I suppose we shall see what fate has in store..."

After the first wave was launched, Redmond stepped up to the launch pad. He wondered how he would land with his somewhat limited skills. His weapon wasn't a gun, so he couldn't use recoil to reduce his speed. His weapon wasn't curved to the extend of a hook, so he couldn't latch onto anything. He was about to come up with something but was interrupted by a sudden change in velocity. The next thing he knew, he was flying over about 245 trees; give or take 35. Crap. He judged that, as long as he stayed on his current course, he would hit a big pine tree directly. He couldn't think of any way to use his weapon to land, so he briefly activated his semblance. By the time Redmond hit the tree, he kicked it with both legs, causing the upper part of the tree to snap off. Redmond landed softly next to the now-decapitated tree top. "Now..." Redmond thought aloud, "...Which way was north again?"

Izzy had been silent most of her time at Beacon so far, absorbing information that could be useful to her, but their headmistress hadn't really provided too much. She slept in the midst of the crowd, but didn't really talk, her mind too busy thinking of plans for tomorrow. The next day, when she found herself on the cliffside, she was quite excited. She held her weapon in lance form, held out infront of her, when she was flung off. When she estimated herself to be at the highest point in her arc, she suddenly stopped in mid air, looking around curiously. She laughed, although breathing deeply in exhaustion, loving the feeling off the wind whipping her short purple hair around, as she pulled on her goggles, using the binocular feature, looking around for a good landing spot. She found a lone Beowulf in a clearing, and a wild grin crossed her face. She aimed her lance infront of her, the sharpened tip aimed straight at the Beowulf. She let out a loud "WHOOP WHOOP!" as she suddenly shot forward, hurling through the air like a bolt of lightning. The poor Beowulf never stood a chance, as she skewered the poor thing on her lance, killing it instantly. She pushed the corpse off her lance with her foot, looking around, a light in her eyes, as she shifted her lance into Longbow form, looking around for a Grimm to kill, or someone to partner with.

Schizo wondered around hopefully he was going the right way but honestly he really wanted some trouble, he smiled evilly as he got into a primal stance, pulling out his weapon he fired at a tree. He continued to fire adding a vicious feral roar which in past experience attracted Beowolves, he halted for a moment as a sudden sound hit him, it could be grimm or human so he took the safe approach, To his suprise and great satisfaction it was grimm. He observed the creature well creatures, three full grown Ursa came from out of seemingly nowhere, he knew he got more than he bargained for, He made the first move changing Tamashi back to it's medium size "Wow never seen three oldies together" he said as he fired off the cannon and charging in they seemed intelligent. Evidence of this was the two side Ursa positioned themselves as if they were surrounding

Schizo sadly he didn't notice as he smashed the cannon into the Ursa's face causing it to swat in a rage but it was too late as he had already stepped on top of his and readied a direct contact shot destroying it head. Schizo celebrated to soon as a Ursa launched towards him knocking him back onto the ground, his aura protected him in time, standing back up he ran forward to retrieve his weapon, swiftly maneuvering around the Ursa and picking it back up. He realized the Ursa was slightly more slender than the previous one but the other once was big like the one he had already killed, pointless info since he just charged in once again.

The Ship

Sequoia boarded the large flying vessel just as everyone else had that was on the interior, but her reactions were plenty different than of those around her. Instead of being immersed in the glorious scenery outside through the glassy windows and expelling it in great excitement, the red haired girl kept her usual nonchalant expression despite being quite amazed herself. She was more bothered by all the people staring at her malevolent antlers atop and protruding from her head. Today, they had small pink blossoms on white threads, each thin twine wrapped around each thinner branch of the darker brown carapaces. She stuck her hands in her black jacket pockets and sighed.

Her horns were very visible, and there was no way to hide them from any onlookers. It was completely obvious that she was a Faunus, and that obviousness had been there for as long as Sequoia had been living. She didn't have it easy in regards to hiding herself in the human dominated world, where Faunus were looked down upon. She walked over to the large scale windows and looked outside, her shoulders back. People were talking and already communicating, while she just stood there and took insults and stares from others. Sure, it wasn't something she wasn't used to by now, but it was still bothersome to deal with.

Sequoia thought to herself about how the year would be, and if it would be any different in training than Haven back in Mistral. Sure, she was promised more species equality, and that was enticing and relieving. What she also would look forward to would be their hopefully enhanced training programs. Beacon was the most prestigious probably for some reason, and that was which Sequoia was hoping for.
Arriving at Beacon

And that was when the large flying vessel reached its destination. Not only was the view amazing, but the kingdom itself was gorgeous as well. The girl walked out with high expectations, and those expectations were sure met greatly. Sequoia couldn't help but gasp at such beauty. Beacon sure was grand, and someone like the Faunus herself couldn't believe where she was now. Looks like I've made it, mother. I'm here, just like you trained me in hopes to be... She thought to herself with an suppressed smile, yet the upwards curvature of her lips were still evident.

Sequoia followed all of the other students to the reception area whilst looking around at all of her surroundings. Soon enough, that smile was gone, and that flicker of happiness was once again covered up by the female's own oppression. The Faunus found herself somewhere inside the crowd, and looked forward at all the commotion, her bright blue eyes eventually falling on the speaker far in the front of a talk pedestal. She clenched her fists, seemingly expectant of what would happen here. Sequoia took notice to the crowd, of course, and forced herself to ignore such packed people.

Dr. Xavius

Only then did a figure appear on the stage on the far end of the white room. It was a woman with light brown eyes and the same color hair, as well as a look of purpose marking her officious face. She gave a speech about how the students had came, and about what they would become. She briefed about where everyone came from, and how that now they were of Vale's Beacon. She had even mentioned how casualties would be made at such a school, even thought they had their high standards. 1/6? Hmm. That seems a little discouraging... She then began about the Huntsman and how improvement would come to those of diligence and persistence of learning.

Only after did the woman leave, as did some of the crowd around Sequoia. The Faunus awaited for more individuals to part their ways to the directions of their choice. To either the cafeteria or to leave Beacon, or to simply look around and marvel at the glorious school. The woman upfront also brought up that there were sleeping bags lied out in the cafeteria, which would be where everyone would spend the night until teams were actually finalized after beginning trials the next day.

Spending the Night

Sequoia eventually followed her way out of the room along with all the rest of the individuals and to the cafeteria. All the tables that would usually be adorning the room were sent to the four corners of the room, along with the chairs stacked by each table. People began conversing again, while the deer Faunus herself found a sleeping bag and inched her way into it with a book she had found. She gleaned around the room and at all the individuals. Some had their weapons present, some were conversing about their weapons, and some were just merely by themselves.

Sequoia had never been one to fall asleep early, so she was one of the last to do so. She had changed into a more sleeping-situated wear, that being a pair of low-riding sweats and a tank top. She was definitely comfortable with her body, even with the little fluffy brown deer tail that poked out of the top of her sweats as well as the deer-themed circular brown spots on her back and upper arms through her tank top. She yawned and peeked a look at the clock across the room. She then pulled her red hair back into a bun and curled into herself into the sleeping bag and closed her eyes.

Emerald Forest

Sequoia pulled herself out of her sleeping bag with a yawn full of motions: from raising arms to popping bones in her back and arching her spine. She quickly got dressed in the bathroom across the hall and followed the already forming crowd outside the cafeteria. They all were heading towards the auditorium again, but for a different purpose today. There was a sign, telling them that their first obstacle for today was in a place called 'Emerald Forest'. It sounded quite pretty, and even mysterious, so the Faunus was excited.

Everyone left and formed another crowd, taking a long walk down to the cliff side. It took a couple minutes of hiking, and people were already complaining. The walk was no problem for Sequoia, however, as her animal-like athlete's build made her feel no tiredness from such little exercise. Once arriving, there was the woman from yesterday standing before every initiate. Another defining feature was a couple large metallic squared inserted into the ground. The brunette woman watched them with a look equivalent to that of from a bird of prey.

She began once again. And this forest was an exam... Of many, apparently. The initiates would be graded and evaluated on how they perform, and if they even survive the event. They would also be assigned teams today as well, and partners will be chosen immediately. Your partner would be the first person you see, as well, apparently. They were also told to find themselves a square and...
prepare for launch. They must also make their way to the northern end of the forest with their new team.

The Launch

Sequoia did as told, stepping over to the 'launch pads' and readying herself. She clenched her fists, becoming prepared both mentally and physically for what would face all of them. Then suddenly, the metallic squares shot up and outwards with impeccable force. Their destination was a bright green forest directly below the cliff under them. Everyone began to fly through the air, shot out like acrobats inside cannons as if in the circus. Sequoia, however, had had training as an acrobat and a gymnast, so this was almost second nature to her. Her body was shot through the air, and she let out her arms like a bird.

She felt so free, like there were no problems in the world. But, that was soon forgotten as the ground was coming up to the ones flying. Sequoia prepared herself, changing her stature and position. She arched her body forwards and almost vertical, with her head pointing towards the ground, feet pointing more upwards. She
could use her weapon, the large gripping metallic hands grappling and snapping through the tough branches below, but only then did she think to herself that surprising everyone had to wait. So, like the athletic acrobat she was, she had flung down and slapped her hands onto a thick branch that came up, curling her long and thin fingers around the dark wood.

Sequoia, using her impressive upper body strength, swung herself forwards and down branches until finally onto the ground. Barely losing a breath, she had traversed from 15 feet up all the way to the grassy, compact earth where her boots made a thick, muffled noise upon impact to the ground. With a smile, she broke out into a run, heading north like she was assigned. She wasn't interested in finding teammates just yet, so she just focused on the mission. Sequoia was used to being by herself, and this was definitely no exception to that fact. Humans weren't beings to be trusted, ridiculing all that is Faunus. So the deer hybrid merely ran through the forest, the initiating mission all that was on her mind.

Yui let out a squeal when the platform unexpectedly sends her flying in the air. She knew it would happen, her mother having told her about it, but her anxiety made her unprepared for it. Once she was flying, she could feel her heart pumping faster and the adrenaline starts surging through her body. "Finally!" Gemini shouted with glee, gaining control over the body. Her hair changed length and color, her face and body undergoing changes as well.

Gemini continued shouting and howling in glee as she pulling out her weapon, Twilight's Peak, and shooting behind her, causing her to blast forward. "
This is amazing!" She shouted, looking for the nearest and tallest tree in the vicinity. Once she spotted it, she leaned her body towards that direction. She buried her blades deep in the trunk of the tree as she descended, almost splitting the tree in half when she reached the ground. "We should start looking for the treasure or whatever it is when need to find." Yui said, letting Gemini to continue her control over the body.

Every now and then Exsion found himself wishing that he had been born as something other than a snake. This was certainly one of them. Having gotten up at the ass crack of dawn to make a trek out to a mountainside only to find out that he would be getting thrown into Grimm infested woods...actually that wasn't all that bad of a morning for him. Well minus the throwing of course. The last thing the sleepy serpent had expected was to be launched into the air like a rock from a catapult.

Sighing softly the male folded his arms his eyes closing. At least the air was warm. Opening his eyes once more Exsion found himself on a one way collision course towards a stand of particularly tall trees. His weapons would be of little help in breaking his fall and his semblance would be of no use since trees didn't respond well to sound.

"Fuck it..."

Uttering a soft sigh Exsion allowed himself to continue falling, now drawing nearer to the lush foliage of the trees. At least they looked soft. Of course there were all those twigs and branches to consider. However luck seemed to favor him today as his body dropped neatly between a small opening in the branches. As he hurtled towards the ground he spotted a delightful sight. Just below him was a rather sturdy branch. If he timed his movement accurately he figured her would be able to catch himself on it.

As always his calculations were spot on and as he dropped past the branch he manage to get a grip on it. Swinging himself up into a handstand before flipping over to sit on a wide branch nearby.

"Hmm... I wonder if hitting the ground would have been more interesting..."

Amarantos stopped screaming when she got a random thought in her head.

If I didn't have my semblance, would it hurt if I went splat on the ground?

She thought before shaking her head and began climbing down from the tree.

The first day had finally began. Jinie woke with a genuine smile on her face. She was excited with whatever they were going to do today. She really hoped it would include action.

She slipped off her temporary bed and did her usual morning routines before going off to where the others where heading. It seemed like the first even was going to start. She listened to what the headmistresss had to say. They were to find partners and form teams here and it seems that whoever you meet with first will be your partner in the next four years. Jinie wasn't exactly sure how well that would work out. She had only met Leone and the rest were strangers to her. Hopefully it was Leone she would meet up with first.

Nonetheless, she readied herself onto the platform she was standing on, thoughts about how she was going to land going through her head. She took her tonfas from her belt and readied them, the blades coming out from both ends. Without warning, her launch pad flipped, sending her up into the air. She grinned, feeling the adrenaline course through her. This was the perfect way to get yourself hyped up for this. She looked down at the trees under her. She was coming towards them at a rapid phase and she had to think quick.

Putting her weapons in front of her, she angled herself to only hit the top part of the trees where the thinner branches where. She crashed on them, slowing her speed down until she was nearing a trunk of a tree. Flipping her tonfas around, she stabbed them onto the trunks as she slid down.

"Well, that's that." she said to herself, dusting off her clothes after keeping her weapons aside. She then started walking, exploring the place a bit and hopefully, she might find someone around. She pushed the bushes out of her way, wondering why she had to land on such a place. She does not hear anyone else around. No chattering, no other noise but herself and these bushes. However, that was changed when she heard a heavy, audible breathing behind her. She turned, weapons ready on whatever managed to sneak up behind her. She used her semblance, Sonar Touch, to check if there were others around. No other Grimms like this beowolf however, she did feel another person's presence. She grinned, charging towards the beowolf before punching it on the gut, sending it staggering back.

Rust trudged his way through the forest dragging the sword behind himself, it slowly was gaining friction as he walked along the forests path no one was around. Rust really did not want to get a whimpy kid he could not stand. Rust walked past some destroyed trees and some Grimm off in the distance looking towards him, he stared for a bit and began to walk again the grimm not bothering him, question was, why not? Something was wrong with Rust and he was also trying to figure it out too. Its not like he was immune to the grimm but they fed on negative emotions and wanted to kill people who had them. But unless he attacked them they seemed always uninterested....maybe his semblance because it was always going off for some reason.

Rust noticed a couple grimm standing in his way, they turned to attack and Rust decided to attack as well trying not to show the teachers who were probably watching from a tree nearby or something, that he learned from the grimm...he just wanted to be normal..and soon enough everyone would know, he might as well be considered a grimm himself after what happened. No one can survive with grimm...but he did. Hellfire burst into flame as rust used one hand to smack one grimm away as he sliced his sword that was on chainsaw mode with the other his giant saw cutting through easily and sending a flame wave at the other behind the second grimm. Rust turned to the other he smacked dragging his sword behind him the sword on fire. The grimm had hit a tree and seemed to be down for a min so Rust decided to just end it. He walked over and just held the blade up turning the saw mode off and with his hand and dropped it the blade cutting to the ground as it tore through.

Rust ripped it out clicking the button so the sword would turn into the chainsaw sword again getting off all the blood and tree parts off. Rust turned it off and continued his journey. Leaving three beowolves dead behind him, he could hear fighting near but continued to walk through the forest dragging his sword leaving a line in the dirt as he drug it showing the path of destruction he left in his way.

Amarantos looked at saw a Grimm. Thinking fast, she pulled Artemidoros out and aimed before letting the arrow fly. It hit the Grimm and it snarled before turning it's head to her direction but couldn't find her. She had jumped to avoid contact and morphed Artemidoros into its rapier form before landing and skewering the Grimm in the head.

Leone

Suddenly, a blur bursted out of the bushes, arcing onto the Beowulf's back. The Beowulf gurgled in surprise, as its head was separated from its shoulders by two bronze and silver blades in a burst of blood. The beast toppled to the ground, and a figure rolled off its back as it hit the ground, getting to its feet, face to face with Jinie. Leone smiled at her, "Well, hello again Jinie Rosevier," he said, "A pleasure meeting you here," he chuckled. He held his hand out to her, "You ready then, partner?" In all reality, he was quite fine with having the pink-haired girl as his partner. She seemed pretty nice from the short conversation they had.

Just before Jinie could go and attack the beowolf again, the person she had sensed earlier arrived in the scene and decapitated her enemy. She smiled upon seeing the familiar brown hair and green eyes. This was her lucky day. She met just the person she wanted to see. She took Leone's outstretched hand and shook it firmly yet thoughtfully.

"Leone Ambrial." she responded in kind. "Indeed I am,partner!" she said with a grin. If he was able to talk to her before without judging her, she felt that she and him would be great friends. She was now looking forward to know who the rest of her team would be. Jinie looked back at the defeated Grimm before walking out towards wherever her instincts told her to go to.

"Then let's go!" he said with a smile, walking along side her, both of his weapons out as they walked. "So," he said, looking over at her, "What did you do before you came to Beacon?" he asked curiously. She was going to be stuck with him for the next four years, they might as well learn something about one another. Why not now? He was quite curious about Jinie. Something about her..... intrigued him. He couldn't exactly put his fingers on it though. After she responded, if she did, he nodded, and said, "I'm from Vacuo. I lived in one of the cities, where I was a thief. I robbed people, but only those from syndicates and crime rings. After all, they don't deserve that anyways, right?" he asked, looking over at her.

Amarantos sighed as she shoved the Grimm off Artemidoros before turning it back to its bow form.

This is going nowhere and fast. I need to find a partner quick.

She thought as she turned Artemidoros back to it's rapier form and flicked the blood off it before tuning it back

Amarantos could see a Beowulf charging out of the brush at her, spittle glistening on its fangs, bellowing a roar. Before it even got close, a ray of blue light ripped through the clearing, cutting clean through the Beowulf's head, splattering its brains all over the ground and trees to its right. A purple-haired girl was soon beside its corpse, laughing loudly. "BOOM HEADSHOT!" she shouted in triumph, before she suddenly shot up, a Beowulf floundering about beneath her, surprised that its pounce hadn't killed her. She aimed down as the Beowulf realized its mistake, but not fast enough, as another light shot through its mask, cutting through its body, as blood and guts spilled from underneath the beast, the ray cutting a whole foot into the ground beneath as the Beowulf fell dead. She jumped down, firing another arrow into the distance from her "Bow", anad the sound of splattering Beowulf brains could be heard. "COMBOOOOOO!" she cried merrily, before seeing Amarantos. "HI friend!"

Amarantos looked at the corpse before looking at the girl and gave a huge smile.

"Hi~!"

She chirped before holding her hand out.

"The name is Amarantos but you can call Amara if you want."

Suddenly, Izzy shot across the clearing, stopping instantly infront of Amara, grabbing her hand in an iron grip, shaking it viciously. "Hi there Amara! I'm Izzy!" she introduced, a broad grin on her face. Izzy was practically twitching in excitement. She made a new friend and got a COMBO! "Where'd you come from? What's it like there? I'm from Atlas, it's fun there! THere's so many machines like wow holy shit! What's your favorite color? Mine's this blue, like my eyes!" she leaned in, pelling her eye lids open to show you the electric blue of her eye. She pulled back. "How about your favorite animal? I like sharksies! They're all like nomnomnonmnomnonm! DO you like sharksies? I love them! They're the greatest!"

Colt was looking around. Who would I want as a partner? he thought. Out of the people I saw Leone would be good or anyone I talked to for that matter. Just anyone except that weird guy that reminds me of a snake that I saw earlier... Colt shuddered at the idea "Oh god I cannot imagine him being my partner" he said aloud. He sighed with my luck I don't he will be it he thought.

Amarantos mentally ticked off the question to answer in order.

"I lived in Vale, and it...was decent. I like the color green and the color blue. I love Rams but sharkies are awesome for their nomnomnom and yes I like them."

Amarantos said with a slight break in how her life was in Vale.

"OOOOH! What's Vale like? What's Vale like?" she asked, jumping up and down. RAMS are cool too!" She laughed, holding her bow as it turned into lance form. Without even so much as a break in stride, she spun it around, thrusting it into the neck of an unlucky Beowulf, who promptly collapsed onto the ground.

"Vale has Signal academy but other than that I don't know. I lived on Signal academy ground for the entirety I was there."

Amarantos said while turning Artemidoros into its rapier form and turned to quickly thrust into the skull cavity of an unfortunate Beowulf that had tried to sneak up on them.

Jinie looked at Leone when he asked the question. She had not really expected these kinds of questions this early in the meet-up. She thought these things will be asked once everyone had settled in with their new partners and teams but she didn't really mind, as she had no reason to hide her background. She actually didn't have much to say about it either.

"Well, I'm from Mistral. I can't really say much about my life as there is nothing really interesting and important. All I know is that I have been lonely since most people sees me as... someone who is not likeable." she told him, thinking of her last description carefully. She actually started liking the word delinquent as it has been used to describe her way too often. "I did hope it was going to change here." He nodded at her before telling her about his own story. It seemed he was a thief back then. 'A thief of thieves, huh?' she thought. She smiled which slowly turned to a chuckle then into a soft laugh. She found Leone rather interesting. At least he had more experiences in life than her. This was another reason why she wanted to be a huntress. She wanted to make the most of her life.

"Ain't that grand?" she told him, grinning at him before playfully punching him at his shoulder. She did not really care if he was a thief before and besides, he was some good kind of thief. "I wish my life was as exciting." she finished, a slight hint of sadness in her voice.
