Huh! After reading up again through Atlantis, I see the Absurr Life Node Symbiote (p. 117) that Sherwood Sherwood mentioned. I didn't know it could be hidden under long hair and that it has a Good alignment and lived off of positive emotions. Dreamy definitely tries to have plenty of those!

It transforms its host into a mega-damage being and prevents mind control. If that's not useful against undead, I don't know what is. Also, I didn't know that the Blind Warrior Women could have one as a reward. That changes things a little bit. Plus, it might be fun?

Psychie Psychie Do you want any of our characters to be mega-damage beings? Is this symbiote an option?

Would you consider my HEMA 2.0 hand to hand system? I figured for going to Europe, the Historical European Martial Arts might be the way to go. It might also act as an icebreaker between party and fighters of that continent?

Eonivar Eonivar Earlier Sherwood asked if the Momano headhunter had techno-wizard bionics? If so, doesn't that fix the nega-psychic issue?

I am wondering why you would leave the service of the Splurgoth if you are doing so well as to get the reward of a Absurr that you would then turn around and leave, going rogue and heading on the run. Not that it is impossible for you to have done something to earn an Absurr and then have an event come along that made you question the error of your ways, but it would have to be a sizable shift in your mentality to happen.

I don't mind the idea of some characters being natural MDC beings. Our only other character, Raven, can generate a sizable amount of MD protection from his tattoo, but only has 25 MD naturally before any other powers are activated.

Why leave? That's easy! =) Because the Splugorth are evil. They enslaved or killed Dreamy's entire race, and for the past 2,000 years have made them do, and be the subjects of, the evil pleasures of these heartless and vindictive masters. I believe there is a huge difference between doing something well because you enjoy it and doing it because your slave-masters will kill you, someone they think you care about, or worse if you don't.

Dreamy is solidly one of those 25% Blind Warrior Women who absolutely hated what she did. But she could not bring herself to consider suicide. Instead, she did whatever was needed of her, perhaps enough to earn the favor of her masters. All the while inside, she yearned for the day she might become a weapon of goodness, not to make up for her past (nothing could change that), but to start a new beginning, one of goodness and one born of her own free will.

I imagine Dreamy saw what happened to those of her kind who disobeyed and became wise enough to keep her mouth shut about it. Then, upon Owl's arrival, took the totem's offer of escape once she was convinced it was real and not some Splugorth trick.

Re: M.D. beings. Ah! O.K.!

Re: We have a raging storm outside and it's messing with my head. I don't have any idea what martial art to choose for Dreamy, only that she definitely wants one. But each says so much about a person! I'm even considering asking for Ninjitsu because Dreamy's radar sense so reminds me of Daredevil comics when he took on the Hand ninja clan in those incredible New York-based adventures. I also feel she has a desire to learn archery. I am open to any suggestions! =)

If you don't want to go for the Absurr, there is always the option to get the Mega Damage transmutation from the bio-science of the Splurgoth. It grants an initial MDC of 75 points, and can go up to as much as 200 points if you so choose.

I do want to go for the Absurr (don't be absurrd!). Since they feed off of emotions, that might give Dreamy more reasons to feel good about her present and future instead of her dwelling on the near-unending darkness of her past.

On another note, that's one reasons I like the idea of Owl showing her what sight is! Altarans are born blind. It seems they have eyes (and reproductive organs); they just use neither (maybe their brains have those options turned off according to one person in Palladium's forums). That's another goal for her and if she had an Absurr at the time, and it "told" her to trust the Owl, that's just one more great reason for her to do just that and embark on these adventures! =)

What page is that on, please? I'd like to read about that if the Absurr doesn't work out (drat the Dreamy in my head for already having a nickname for it - "Lumpy"). Heh!

It starts on page 107 of my pdf.

EDIT this is at the top of the page:
Bio-wizard Transmutation, Augmentation & Reconstruction

Perhaps Raven was bio-manipulated to get his high strength as a slave gladiator in the Splynn dimensional markets. It could be how Dreamy and Raven meet, and she helps to spring him from captivity. Just a thought.

We can do some of this bio-manipulating or what-have-you with Eon's character too, right? He wasn't happy with his rolls.

Maybe we were all rescued by Dreamy and worked together to escape from Atlantis. That could explain how we all got our MDC stats or other physical upgrades.

That is doable. Hmmm. I might have to allocate a bank of upgrade points that let those being bio-manipulated to pick what upgrades they want.

Omigosh! Biomanipulation! Bio-E points! Waaa! We're going all After The Bomb (TMNT)!! Woooo!

Just kidding! =)

So how many points for Lumpy? I don't care if he's the weakest runtiest variety of Absurr! Even lumpy psychic runts need a good home! 8D

(That's a joke. Either you allow the symbiote or you don't. Either way is fine by me.) =)

I can get behind this idea. I'd like to upgrade Raven to get a better MDC rating than his tiny 25 points.

Well, I am thinking that you can either get the symbiote or a bio-upgrade, but not both. I just need to determine if I am going to give a load of money in order to buy the bio-manipulation upgrades or just say you can get X amount of points and spend them as you wish.

Looking at the list of available upgrades, I don't know what I'd want more; to have an MDC transformation or to get a fully Supernatural PS. Both are very desirable.

Psychie Psychie Whoa, whoa, whoa! Martial Art Powers are allowed? Not just the martial art?

Martial Art Powers
Stone Ox. The ultimate body hardening exercise, the character practices taking damage by sitting under waterfalls, taking punches and kicks from fellow students, and chopping outrageous amounts of wood. The end result is an increase of:
Bonuses: +2 to P.E., and +25 to MDC.
lai-Jutsu. Actually, the "sword-drawing art," but used here for its extreme quickness. The character simply gets a bonus on initiative. At first level it's +1, and an additional +1 is
added at 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th and 15th levels.
undefined

I was under the impression that since Ninjas and Superspies MA styles are being used, it was a part of it. If not, I lose my whopping 25 MDC that I got from Stone Ox. lol

I did say that the Ninjas and Superspies book was allowed, so, yeah.
Psychie Psychie Whooaaa. O.K.! Shifting gears here. I have never imagined Dreamy (or any of the PCs so far raised up) with Martial Art Powers!

I have to ask the following:

1. Are you allowing multiple systems (if paid for by Skills)? (This allows diving into more powers.)

2. Are I.S.P. and Chi interchangeable or separate (you may already know that some systems provide a once-in-a-lifetime "Double Existing Chi" bonus)?

3. Is there Chi Combat in your game (if Vampires have access to Negative Chi, this changes everything at least in my playbook)?

1. No, only one system. In the book it shows that learning other styles takes years in order to master them, so just one for everyone.

2. Yes. Looking at the Cyber Knight OCC, it mentions that they have a large battery of ISP, which some people would call Chi.

3. I will say no to Chi Combat. I don't know that stuff well enough.
