I think I am going to go for a Chiang Ku Dragon that is a Ley Line Walker. I like playing magic users and wizards and sorts and being able to be a dragon AND a wizard is a lot of fun. That and the magic has a lot of non-combat uses for better RP. ;-)

Eonivar Eonivar That's super! Color me envious, Eon! I miss my Chiang-Ku, Chan-Chan, from Pips's game - she was such a fun character. =)

Which book are you pulling Chiang-Ku from?

Hmm, I am not sure which version is better...which book should I use, England or Dragons and Gods? (or is it somewhere else?)

Those two! The latter is, of course, the more recent.

I just realized something - that's a GM question, isn't it? Psychie Psychie

I don't have the Dragons and Gods book, so I would lean more towards the write-up in Rifts: England just to know what I'm dealing with.

For what it is worth, they are very similar write-ups.

I don't believe that Eon would try and deliberately pull a fast one and work to slip a overpowered character into this game, and I also trust our good friend Purr Purr with his take on things like this. Whichever version you like better is fine with me.

England is the one I am most familiar with so I will go with that one.

I do have a question...one of the Ley Line Walker abilities is to be able to find or buy spells in their journey beyond regular two new spells per level...do I get some additional spells since I am starting at a higher level?

A reasonable request. You can add four more spells total from levels 1-6 in addition to the ones you normally get.

EmperorNorton1 EmperorNorton1 How goes work on your character? Any progress being made?
I'm not going to lie, I really like Dann's idea of taking the werewolf rcc. it could be an explanation for why Thea has these abilities. I'm using the Heros of the Megaverse book, and I've been attempting to use the quick-roll system to select my skills, but honestly, I think taking a full R.C.C. and then taking half the number of skills (plus the three I get since we're at level four and I'm guessing I'll get a skill advancement every level) might be easier to manage.

but what say you? I've never played a werewolf, I dont know how balanced such a thing would be. also, Purr Purr What book(s) have the Werewolf RCC? thank you for the idea, by the way (:

Werejaguars and Werepanthers are in World Book 6: South America 1. I don't remember where I have seen the werewolf RCC though. I'm still looking.

Ok, this is pissing me off. I know I've seen werewolves in one of the books, I just can't remember which one or find it as I skim through the table of contents.

If you are going by the book, Werewolves are normally evil. I would also probably have to give your character's IQ a bonus, since the dice roll for that stat is only 1d6+5.

A quick glance at the Werejaguars in the South America Book shows me that they are, in my opinion, better choices for an RCC than the werewolf. Better stats, and they aren't naturally evil.

Well... here's an idea - why does it have to be a Palladium-born werewolf? This is Rifts! Psychie allowing, we can bring in Werewolves from anywhere we want or have completely new ones of whatever Alignment we want. "Whatever works at your table," says Kevin Seimbeida himself (I am certain I can find him saying that yet again during one of his many video interviews - he says it all of the time!).

My point? Whatever brings you enthusiastically to the table and does not disrupt the balance of Psychie's game is what I hope you'll play! I love playing Dreamy - she's a terrific character here or in HERO: Champions.

I think enthusiasm is the fuel that keeps great games going! =)

Mirgris Mirgris Glad your internet's working, man!

Hmm. Let me think aloud here as to what we already have:

1. Takuma - Full-conversion cyborg - nasty at ranged or melee complete with techno-doodads!
2. Raven - Atlantean Cyber-Knight melee monster with martial art powers and master psychic!
3. (Eon) - Chiang-Ku Ley Line Walker WIP = Lots of "Universal" Magic in a hard-to-kill package!
4. (Alex) - Superhero WIP? Demon-slaying, health-regenerating, anti-undead toughie (thus far)!
5. Dreamy - Blind Ninja Undead Hunter Jack of all Trades - Psychic, magic, martial arts, and all-Altaran!

So back to what broad category could we use? Well... here's a few?

A. Techno-wizards (item-based support class with all kinds of imaginative and magical gizmos).
B. Power armor specialists (Glitter Boy, Super SAMAS, somebody-in-a-high-tech-tanky-suit!).
C. Juicers (super-fast destroyers who make everyone else look slow, but they have a short lifespan).
D. Psionic-based R.C.C.s (we have a young Mind Melter NPC, but he doesn't have to be the only one).
E. True Atlantean R.C.C. (because at this stage, why in the heck not?). =)

EDIT: Sherwood is playing a True Atlantean Cyber-Knight which is a powerhouse in any game. I initially thought Raven was human. Whoops! =)

I looove techno wizard, but rifts is really weird, so I'll do some looking at weird stuff like "Dragon hatchling" and if that fails I'll go a kind of modern spec ops techno wizard. Which I think would be cool.

The advantage that a dragon has over a powered armor suit like the SAMAS is the bio regeneration powers so you don't have to worry about getting repairs.
