Especially considering that if there is anyone able to get to your position quickly, its Gradicus. He can accelerate up and be there before he can even hit his full speed with his Mach 4 flight.

In all fairness, while Gradicus was setting the charge, those two power armors fired on him. He elected to take the hit and set the charge, but I don't recall any damage being done to him?
