You get better with experience. WP Heavy Weapons gives a +1 at levels 1, 3, 6, 10 and 14. HtH Expert gives a +2 to Strike at level 3, and you get a expanded Critical Strike range at level 6.

so would i get experience for training? since it is working towards improving doesn't that mean that it would technically be an experience?

You're already getting experience points for that - for example, one part of the 3000 pts Sherwood gave us earlier is exactly for travelling, training etc.

DraconianWarrior DraconianWarrior the answer that everyone keeps giving you is no. There is nothing for "training". It appears that Sherwood Sherwood is giving group xp for progression of the story rather than individuals doing their own training. This isn't like Elder Scrolls where you can sit inside of a building and use your magic on yourself to max out.

Sorry if that came off as blunt, not intentional.

Page count is nothing else than awarding exp points for our time spent travelling and experiencing things. Some wrote that they trained, some meditated, others learnt how to fly their drones. Different ways to learn, and we all got our exp for it.

I would argue that it needs to have some substance to each post. Posting 10 'comments' with a single line or two wouldn't equate to 10 'comments' of a paragraph or two (or three) that really help drive the story and interact with others.

Dano Dano thank you i guess im just used to being able to train. im more used to games were i can train my character to be better at certain thing.

and on a side note, using magic like that in elder scrolls, in my opinion, is like cheating.

and i am sorry for causing such an uproar im just not used to group xp, except after battles. im used to individual xp and i guess thats one of the things thats messing me up. im just trying to find ways to improve my character. ways that he can improve himself so that he can better carry out the mission that his old friend had given him.

You are able to do some of that with the extra skills you can learn as you level up, and your skill rolls increase with each level. Also, as you go along, you will encounter new gear that you can try to incorporate into your sheet.

I some games, your Storyteller will require you to spend time training up. It just depends on the flavor of the game. I make the assumption that some of all that is done as you travel in your down time. Also, with each encounter, you learn more of how a particular weapon works and feels, so you get better with it as time goes by.

Dano Dano Of course - and I'm pretty sure that Sherwood would account for that if we'd decide to only post one-liners from here. Not that I'm planning to do that.

DraconianWarrior DraconianWarrior I've never played with individual exp - and I'm opposed to that idea in general. Maybe it's just that I see rp's always as a group effort, or that I'm just so damn used to it by now. Just see it as an opportunity - since you don't have to waste posts on training etc. if you don't feel like it, you can simply engage with the others and make the story even better. Of course, some forms of training allow for good developments between characters - that's actually the most important thing why I'd be interested to swap a few spells with Psychie Psychie . Not to have them on the list and get better, but to make this learning process part of the story.

DraconianWarrior DraconianWarrior Above all, Draco, just kick back and have a good time!

Experience builds every skill your character has whether Blake uses it or not. But really, years from now, it will be the fun and fond memories you keep that'll make roleplaying games special for as long as you want them to! That's the real magic of roleplaying!

Sherwood Sherwood who called Trent on the radio? I've been reading through and I saw where someone was going to contact Trent but has yet to do so... no one has said anything to him as everyone is still yacking it up with the cyber knights and GB.

Psychie posted that Terra called out on the radio to you and Blake about what was going on before the trio arrived on their street.

Dano Dano
"The demons are dead... everyone needs to rondevoux with the River Walker at the dock so we can continue on our way... quickly." the words were much more stern and did have a sense of urgency to them, hoping the others would come to their senses and stay focused on the assignment they were supposed to be on...

For clarification, is Trent saying this to Capt. Raimus or to the team via radio or both, please?

couldnt trent hear the cyber nights talking to me through the control guantlet? there was no mention of a headset. and i also noticed that he was in betty and yet still somehow able to watch the group when me and my moniter are in my trailer, how is that possible, as far as i am aware betty doesnt have any camreas that can see that far. or any at all for that matter. (sorry i havent done much reading on the badger vehicle)

If I'm not mistaken, he's sitting in the badger and using the optics that are on board for long-range engagements. Not as good of a picture as your drones, but it's enough to spot the most crucial details. No sound, though, that's why he's less informed than he should be.

I'm a bit puzzled by the order to pull over to the docks, though - as long as Trent does not expect heaps of loot, it'd probably be easier for all of us to just return the way we left.

ok thank you silanon.

on a side note does anyone know how to get rid of the snow particles they get very annoying.

Edit: never mind i figured it out, lol im an idiot.

That line was via coms to the team, he still isn't sure if anyone aside from Terra actually has their coms in.

As Silanon said, Trent was inside Betty using the optics from both his HUD glasses and the targeting system from Betty's Ion Cannon. Trent could not hear anything you were saying because he was not next to you or your gauntlet.

I'm a bit puzzled by the order to pull over to the docks, though - as long as Trent does not expect heaps of loot, it'd probably be easier for all of us to just return the way we left.

Trent asked the Captain to pull up to the dock because it is in the canal and in the same direction we are headed to. It wasn't a matter of loot, it was of convenience for the team...

Why is it that almost everyone thinks Trent is a heartless jerk? His entire stance was that they didn't have ANY information as to the situation other than demons were attacking. And to think that Trent is going to lecture the group? That's not his style... He is simply goal orientated and focused on what he is being paid to do, what everyone is being paid to do... with the way almost everyone is treating him, maybe I should have held my ground to play the Fire and Brimstone Preacher....

Dano Dano I can certainly see that - and personally, I wouldn't mind, since I really don't want to spend another 15 ppe on a flight spell (hence my question to the other, more natural flyers). My point was simply the following question: How much more convenient is it to pull over to the docks instead of directly continuing through the canal, considering that the team is capable of flying? If Trent's answer to that question is: Even if it will cost a bit more time and doesn't make too much of a difference, it's the better option, then that's cool and I appreciate it.

Sorry if my post above sounded somehow offensive, it was not meant that way - I was simply puzzled because I expected a less caring answer, like "now that you're done, it'd be appreciated if you could get your asses back over here".

Edit: This was to post 1448, was busy typing when you wrote again.

Also: I don't think Trent is a heartless jerk - I think he's simply more result-oriented while most of the group is rather idealistic. The confrontation when we left made it so that both sides clashed against each other - naturally, that lets Trent appear in a darker light than he should, usually. Think of a normal man next to a saint - the normal man, while he might even be good-willed, will always look like an offender in comparison.
