No worries, Orikanyo. I hope you're enjoying your weekend. =)

I agree, but though it is in character for Gradicus to take up the offer for the medallion here, I'm going to feel like a prize heel if we find them on Atlantis on the bodies of bad guys or something.
If we follow Kimberly's plan, we won't even have to wait that long. Slaver barges always come with Blind Warrior Women...

Well, I just can't imagine items costing ten million credits lying around on them somehow. Plus, not taking a potential 300 M.D.C. per day is one hell of a bargain especially when going to Atlantis. Sherwood Sherwood Sign me up. Gradicus will take Brazamal up on his generous offer. And if we come across a few of these medallions and Gradicus somehow gets a second one, then hey! They're worth ten million. If he spends five for Brazamal's offer, then he still comes out ahead.

Most of all, it's worth repeating that it's in-character for Gradicus to spend that kind of money for something that'll help against supernatural evil. The description of the Undead Slayers (under credits) explains how they don't hoard money but use it for just this sort of thing.

As for the TW Force Cannon, that thing is a beast, but Gradicus's new M-160 does nearly the same damage. That "Dragonfire" Flamethrower on the other hand, has my attention. 1D6x10 M.D. to everything in its 100 foot (30.5 m) path? In Federation of Magic, page 117, this flamer's description says its roughly equivalent to the Fire Gout spell? That spell says targets in its path are -3 to dodge (according to Book of Magic, page 77). Is that also then true of the "Dragonfire" flamer?

On a nitpicky note, the Dragonfire's description says it's based off of the second level Fire Gout spell, but in Book of Magic that spell is third level? A typo or a purposeful change in spell strength? Only real Pyromancers know for certain! =)

Sherwood Sherwood So - just a few thoughts about equipment:

- Those amulets don't interfere with other means of protection, right? Think Shaona would be inclined to grab one of them as well, if only to take a closer look at how they actually function. Besides, it'd more than double my defenses when needed.
- Is there a recommended way to raise PP, either by magic or by equipment? I certainly could use a bit of aid in the strike-department.
- Given the nature of the mission, I'm inclined to add a stealth function to my armor, using shadow meld. Question: I can simply cast the spell on level 1, even though it's a lvl three spell, right? Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find any confirmation on that right now... Following my calculations for the TW device construction, I should be able to do that for the price of 10.000 credits and within 20 hours - let me know if that seems fishy, I might have overlooked something important. Given that I'd like to use my speed reading psychics while we're still in town to gather every possible bit of helpful information in the dragon's library, I'd probably prefer to start work on that while we're on the road - but I'd need to get the ingredients right now. Do you think it's possible to get my hands on the required gem within the time we have without too much effort?
- Money: Think I'm 3000 short for the required gem - assuming our friend is kind enough to pay me the money for the amulet upfront (I'm a technowizard, and thus broke by definition), would he be kind enough to help me with that difference as well?

How many characters are there 6? If so, does that mean we each have 2 mil credits for black market goods?

Is there a pdf of the black market goods? I was just looking for a pistol (not sure how good the one I already have is versus what might be available...)

Also, was Trent given the 10 mil credits to procure transportation?

Sherwood Sherwood would it be at all possible for my character to get the following items? both are in the northern gun 2 book

NOTE: this item has been modified to repair or 'heal' cyborgs and robots

MAU-500 Medical Automation Unit Nicknames:
“Med-Box” and “the Coffin.”
Class: Robot Medical System.

M.D.C. by Location:
Main Robot Surgical Arms (2, inside) – 5 each (Robot P.S. 9)
Main Body – 75

Speed: None, must be transported by some means other than its own.

Statistical Data:
Height/Depth: 4 feet (1.2 m).
Width: 3 feet (0.9 m).
Length: 8 feet (2.4 m).
Weight: 380 pounds (171 kg).
Cargo: Large enough for one human-sized body up to 7 feet tall (2.1 m).

Power Supply: The MAU does not have its own power source and must rely on an external generator or Solid Oxide or nuclear battery. Alternatively, it has a housing where six E-Clips can be plugged in. Six E-Clips are enough power to allow 1D4+2 people to be examined, diagnosed and treated. MAUs built into mobile medical trail- 236 computer systems of vehicles, mobile hospitals, base camp or local medical facility. On a successful roll, the diagnosis is accurate and the suggested treatment should resolve the problem. (possibly hooked up to my road hammers power supply)

Medical Nanobots Supply:
The Coffin can diagnose and treat all minor injuries and most common sicknesses, stop bleeding, dress and suture wounds, reduce or eliminate pain (at least temporarily), administer medicine and set most broken bones. In addition to medicine, it has the following nanobot medical systems. Unlike field kits in which the nanobots are lost, these can return to the Coffin where they are scrubbed, sanitized, recharged and reused. This can be done 1D6+6 times before the nanobots stop working. The numbers listed are the equivalent of one field kit, sufficient, in most cases, to work on one patient.
45 Cyber-Nano-Robot Repair Systems (CNRRS)
6 IRVT Internal Robot Visual Transmitters
45 Micro-Repair Robots (MiRR)

Emergency Life Support:
The Med-Box can administer the proper life saving treatment to stabilize and maintain life support as necessary (oxygen, breathing tube, transfusion, medications, etc.) for transportation of the patient to a hospital or surgery.

Statistical Data:
Speed: 10 mph (16 km) maximum. The drone can hover stationary, move at slow speeds to keep pace with investigating police, move up and down, side to side, forward and backward.
Altitude: 11 feet (3.4 m) maximum.
Height: 9 inches (23 cm).
Width: 6 inches (15 cm).
Length: 18 inches (46 cm).
Weight: 7 lbs (3.2 kg).

M.D.C. by Location:
* Central Lens – 2
* Hover Jets (2 side, 2 bottom, 2 back) – 4 each
Main Body – 18
* An asterisk means a small and difficult target to hit and requires a Called Shot to strike, and even then the attacker is -5 to strike if it is hovering stationary and -8 to strike if it is moving.

Physical Strength: None.
Bonus: +1 to dodge attacks and falling debris.
Cargo: None.
Power System: Battery with 120 hours of life.

Sensor System of Note:
Criminal I.D. Recognition System: Comes standard with the Criminal I.D. Recognition System, which is new and experimental for NG, but seems to work very well, with an 89% success ratio. The recognition system is part of the computer and linked to the cameras in the armor, gun camera and Floater Camera. This facial recognition system can identify as many as 250,000 known criminals, wanted fugitives, Black Marketeers, terrorists, enemies of the state, and people with bounties on their heads, as well as identifying marks such as tattoos, scars and other distinctive physical features, known gang insignias, emblems, patches and “colors.” If desired, it can include recognition of suspects wanted for questioning (provided his or her face is known and on record) and dangerous D-Bees, monsters and, well, anybody who has been photographed or who can be photographed and programmed into the system.

(can i get two of these possibly?)

Sorry it took so long to get back to everyone. The family and I were out at the Renaissance Festival all day having a fun time. I don't know who was having more fun; my five year old or me and my wife watching her.

Enough of that. On to my work as your Illustrious Storyteller!
and is there any way i can get one of these put into my road hammer transport, exept modified so it repairs me instead of flesh?

MAU-500 Medical Automation Unit Also known as “the Coffin”
You can get spare parts and materials for you to do the repair work, and I can see you having a auto-repair booth, especially since there is no one else able to repair you. It will be able to fix you up out of combat, and depending on how hurt you are, it might take some time.
I take it to the blind woman warrior medallion is extremely hard to come by otherwise?

Somehow, I doubt we'll be coming across these in Atlantis or able to purchase them in the immediate future after our mission's conclusion.
Not only are the amulets difficult to get, but most talismans run out of power after a few uses. These do not, and keep replenishing their power daily. It makes them a very coveted item.
I agree, but though it is in character for Gradicus to take up the offer for the medallion here, I'm going to feel like a prize heel if we find them on Atlantis on the bodies of bad guys or something.
It is quite possible that you do run across some 'loyal' Warrior Women with their amulets, giving you guys more to grab ahold of. At this point, you can either keep them or sell them to someone else at normal price of ten million credits, and depending on how well your salesman negotiates, you could get a better price than that for them.

Since it is clear in the text that it is "roughly equivalent" of the Fire Gout spell, whatever modifiers that would apply to the spell affects the Flamethrower.

As for the 'level 2 or level 3 spell' question, I'm guessing that it is supposed to say that the Book of Magic entry is the correct one and the spell is 3rd level. Trust my hyperkinetic friend to spot that!
Sherwood Sherwood So - just a few thoughts about equipment:

The amulet will stack with other armor types, so you can wear a suit of MDC body armor and have it layer over it to help keep you from becoming a crispy critter.

The only way in the rules that I know of is to buy more Physical skills that will add to your PP. AFAIK, there is no item that can boost your PP, but as a TechnoWizard, you might be able to create something that can boost your attribute for short periods of time. It would be a bit of work for you to do so, but I am not against it.

As long as you have the spell in your 'library' of arcane knowledge and have enough PPE to cast it, you are not limited by level of the spell at all.

Having the Shadow Meld on your armor will most likely be a good thing. Since you are getting stuff from your employer, you can go ahead and get the needed gemstone(s) you require.

So, at this point, I have both Dannigan and Silanon wanting to buy the talisman, correct? Is anyone else going to go with it?

Finally, DraconianWarrior DraconianWarrior I give you the nod on the drones and the modified coffin. Not too much else, though.

thats all i needed thank you so much, the main reason i wanted the drones was for there batteries, i want to see if i can switch the batteries with the ones on the helicopters, and if that doesnt work then at least i have some really good recon equipment lol

What is an IRMSS systems?
IRMSS Internal Robot Medical Surgeon System : An amazing medical device that injects a dozen microscopic robot units, about the size of a pinpoint, into the bloodstream to repair internal injury. The containment unit is placed over or near the suspected area of damage and the depression of a button releases the micro-surgeons into the body. The tiny robots search for the damage and repair it. Types of internal injury which they can repair include the removal of blood clots, repairing torn/ruptured veins, internal bleeding, and minor damage to internal organs. Equal to a medical doctor's surgical skill of 75%. When the units are done, they simply turn off and are naturally flushed from the body (average life is one hour). They are not reusable. Each IRMSS holds 48 surgical robots for four uses.

Forgot to answer this one:

Trent has the travel cash and black market goods in his possession (or will, once you get moving). You have contacts in the smuggling world that no one else does, so the burden falls on you to make the call on how to get to Atlantis. You can charter/buy a boat, get a Shifter to open a Rift to transport you there, or follow one of Epiphany's suggestions and hijack a Splurgoth ship of some kind and use it to get there. Or something completely different.

I named my helicopters Phobos and Deimos after the twin sons of Ares. and I named the med pod Asclepius after the Greek god of healing, and I named myRobosistant Hephaestus after the god of the forge because it helps me with my mechanical work. I can't wait to eventually get enough credits or parts to build or buy a war machine and call it Ares lol

Sherwood Sherwood , I am strongly considering taking one of the Altarian amulets myself. Even with my Invulnerability Tattoo, I feel very vulnerable. Yeah, I'll do it. Count me in.

Also, the idea of actually buying a boat big enough to take us all to the isle is not a bad idea. The other one that I like is using the Shifter to take us there, and if the caster doesn't want to stick around with us until job completion, we can snag a ship on the Atlantis side. Heck, with that payday, we may be able to hire the Shifter to go with us as a full fledged NPC. Look at all of us; we are going there for less income than we can offer up.

So we have three PCs wanting the armor talisman. That's fine. Just remember that this comes out of your total payout, so hopefully you'll get all four of the runaways back to New Lazlo for the rest of your payout.

Question- where did the amulets come from? I've gone back and reread all of the IC twice and I dont see them mentioned anywhere....

The question of extra armor was brought up in the OOC thread by Dannigan in post 559. One option that is available to you for this extra armor is the talismans, but they are rather expensive.

They are basically an advance on the successful completion of our mission. I am going to take one, with the hope that I can come across some other cool swag to help make up for the cost of getting this from Brazamal.

Sherwood Sherwood can i trade one of my psionics for a diffrent psionic thats not on the psioperater list? i relised that resist fatigue is useless for me and i can find any good psionics on the psi operater list, so if i promise to stay away from super psionics can i have a diffrent psionic?

Do you have one in mind? Or are you going to have to go looking for a replacement?
