I really enjoy playing Snowfall, especially in moments like this. =)

Thank you very much, Psychie Psychie ! I've been wanting to write that for almost a week now and I like how it came out. I'm not used to playing Snowfall with his serious side and it's kind of refreshing. Don't worry though; he'll never lose his silly side! It's very much part of him. =)

Good writing indeed - plus, it's awesome to see another summoned monster of yours =)

Short question: If I'm activating enhanced reflexes right now, I get the additional melee attack in this round, right? Right now, I'm at 6/7 actions used, so I'd be at 7/8 and could act next time my (then improved) initiative comes up, right? Just making sure since i usually use that power before the fighting starts...

I will let you activate the power and have the extra action in the round no problem.

After a brief glance at the rules, If Zephiron wants to metaphorically glue himself to the vampire intelligence with a "pressed attack" to prevent all spell casting above level 5... how does that work in play?

I will have to double check that, but I am thinking you could latch on with a bite and claw attack, rending and tearing as you go.

Hmm, I was looking at page 189 of the Rifts Ultimate Edition, and it says characters can't cast mid to high-level spells under attack. The phrasing they use is under "pressed attack" which I assumed was a special action, but upon searching other sources it doesn't appear to be. This is pretty confusing, but my interpretation reads that as long as I'm slapping him in the closest approximation of a face at point-blank range, he should be unable to cast any spell above level 5. Correct me if I'm wrong there.

I am away from my books at the moment, but it sounds correct to me. It would not be the first time that Palladium made a typo in their rulebooks.

Hey team? If Terra and her kiddos fail to get that damned Vampire Intelligence to stop casting, I'm having Snowfall and his kiddos leave off of Salnesh and stop that spell. Snowfall doesn't know what it's casting and doesn't want to find out! =)

Dice are a fickle mistress. Here's hoping!

As someone who usually slings spells, I almost feel sorry for the thing. I mean, it doesn't even get to do the cool stuff it has written in its stat-block...

For the record: Unless the world ends, I'll probably do my best to keep up with Salnesh. Probably predictable, but just so you know...

I'm probably going to have Zephiron make a lightning wall to bar Salnesh's escape via the rune weapons powers. It's not so much a barrier as a guarantee that escape will require some extra pain. Could someone follow up with carpet of adhesion beneath the wall/field?

No reason not to make home alone tier traps after all.

I feel the same way, Sil. I'm just very glad that we have it on the ropes at the moment. This is what it gets for being evil! Ha!

Good thinking, Rykon, and Snowfall can cast that! However, I had something else in mind too, and we'll see if that works.

I'm going to keep on shooting. I dont have a lot of different tactics to employ. But I can at least do the things I can do pretty well.

Hear, hear! Besides, this way we can tell the Jaguar-people how brave Daisy was against the evil, wicked Vampire non-Intelligence that has been squatting in their magic pyramid for spirits-know-how-long. =)

Disclaimer: The following post is just one big vent. I'm not attacking anybody, not criticizing any particular style of play or decision; I just need to say this then I'll be cooler (I hope).

You don't even have to read it. I simply must express it. The alternative is I keep it to myself which is unhealthy, then explode worse later, which is not good for anybody.

Salnesh reaches down and yanks the holy blade out of his side and throws it away, then quickly casts a spell and vanishes from before your eyes! Looking down at where it was standing, you can see that there are two large chunks of rock that are missing; an indicator that the demon has teleported away. But Snowfall would know that Salnesh is still stuck and will not be able to move until such time as the Carpet of Adhesion is either banished or runs out of time.

This is a pet peeve of mine - I cannot stand the seemingly-invincible teleporting big-bads!

Why? Because I feel if the big bad plays his cards right, we will never kill him. We will just see him again and as time goes on along with the taunting remarks, and he'll just vanish whatever he wants to. I think this is an overused, stress-inducing, boring game mechanic that has been used in role-playing games and video games (Bison from Street Fighter anyone? How about Vampire: the Masquerade?) for literally decades.

Worse still I think is the insta-teleporting big bad who cannot be interrupted but vanishes with a seeming snap of his fingers. Good luck interrupting that!

It's not the character I hate, and certainly not the GM, it is the mechanic itself. I think we would be overpowered if our party could just as suddenly vanish as a whole under almost any circumstance. We would be nigh-unstoppable and the game would lose its fun. I can't stand this mechanic because it completely destroys any sense of fun I have when facing someone who can do this.

So please, please do not mention how close we came to getting him this time. I've just seen this too often and too many other campaigns to enjoy it anymore.

And one more thing. If you guys ever, ever see me playing this card in any game I run, I give you the right here and now to chew me out at all you want. Just copy paste this rant and I am yours. I will stand there defenselessly and accept whatever you have to say because anything less to me is hypocrisy.

There. I think I feel a little better. Sigh.

Unreal! Salnesh took Eron's blade out of his body, threw it away, teleported, and became invisible, all in one Action! I am so happy the See the Invisible thing worked or Salnesh would be gone!

If it wasn't obvious before, this guy has got to go and we are the ones who are going to make it happen!

Your attack against Salnesh is not as successful, though. Even with its feet trapped in the rock that got teleported with it, the demon was able to parry the swing on it with a huge claw.

In return, it casts Magic Net against Junior, entangling the Automation in its web. It can still see, but it will take at least a minute of hard cutting to get out of the Net.

Hey Bud! I swear I'm not trying to play the Rules Lawyer here; I just want some confusion around Magic Net cleared up. In Rifts Ultimate Edition (page 206), the description of Magic Net states that those caught cannot "attack or defend." But the demon managed to both Parry Junior's and cast a Magic Net of his own? So folks can both defend and cast?

Every game in every group has its own rules, so this begs the question - how does Magic Net work in your game?

The demon has his feet stuck not in a Magic Net, but in a Carpet of Adhesion. His legs can't move, but he can cast spells.

Oh, derp! Thanks! I knew that! My Character cast it! 8D

This is why I could care less when someone makes an honest goof during a game - Lord knows I make more than my fair share! =)

What I can't stand (and have never seen on RP Nation) is cheating. It just bowls me over how some Players have a desire to win that is so strong as to override their integrity. I mean... what the face!!

EDIT: Thank you, everyone, for being good Players who just don't cheat! 8D
