Beaurmont
The Born Again Novice
"He-...o -ou live -nger?" A distorted voice whispers faintly at the edge of my mind. Even then the darkness still grips as my senses tightly, keeping me captive in this cold place. "Th- an won- awa-en." It continues, giving me a painful headache. My body entire body is cold and lifeless, no matter how I try it won't move for me. However, as if I spoke too soon a jolt of energy surges through my body in an instant, shocking my body awake. "AHHHHHH, FFFFFF-" I scream at the top of my lungs, having pain shoot through my body in great intensity. I lay on the ground, writhing in pain, mumbling profanities here and there. "Look, he awakes! It's about time friend, we were sure you had been taken by Velenmer." A warm voice spoke above me, laughing all the while.
Slowly, my eyes open for what feels like the first time and the light drives away the darkness. I stare up at a blue sky filled with large white clouds, a single gigantic sun lies in the middle, casting its beams across the land. For a moment, I'm filled with the awe and just sit there gazing at the skies beauty. "Er...you there stranger? You're not...dead from that right?" A voice beckons, standing over me. His shadow casts over me, blocking all light from the sun once more. A tinge of fear strikes my heart, causing me to flinch at the change. Defensively, I throw my arms in front of me in an attempt to protect myself. "Be easy stranger! I mean no harm! Be easy!" The shadow retracts from view, backing a few steps away. "The lads definitely got a knot loose..." He mutters, scratching his head.
I get up slowly, now in sitting position. The darkness is gone again, a calm falling over me. I continue to stay silent, but stare at the people who have gathered around me. There were a total of five men and two women, all wearing strange colored clothing. The closest one, presumed to be the guy who stood over me, was the only one different. He instead wore heavy armor, with a blue cloth wrapped around his right arm. He had dark brown hair, and blue eyes, the same color as the cloth in face. He glared at me, uncertain of what to do with me. I could feel my face turning red as everyone was starring in my direction, their gaze was piercing. Strangely enough it didn't feel as if their gaze was malicious, but rather curiosity. So, I did the same, moving my sights from the ground up to them. Each and every one wore robes of some sort, clean and with a single strange symbol lying on the chest. The entirety of the robe was blue, save for the yellow sign, and it ran down to their legs.
"Alright stranger, what're you called? Where do you come from?" The armored one asked, resting his arms on his hips. For a moment, it was like his question didn't register, or perhaps like I couldn't answer. My brow furrowed, and uncomfortable tingle in my brain as I tried to answer the question. Just who was I? I could feel the headache returning, causing me to wince slightly from the pain. However, from the pain a single word arose in my foggy mind. "Beaurmont. I..I think my name is...Beaurmont."
