Ren nodded at Arya's wave. Following Rain's lead, he kept his hands on his rifle. He also had his sword in the quick-draw position, just in case. And so he went with them, unbothered by the desert heat.

"Oh, don't worry about it~ All's well between us now and I'm just glad that we're together now, and with strong allies, no less!"

Rena laughed merrily and stood, brushing dirt off her skirt.

"Anyways, you should rest. That technique you used before to change our surroundings into a desert must have drained a lot from you. I'll go check on Dust real quick. If you need help with anything, just give a quick holler, okay?"

Playfully saluting the priestess, Rena exited the room and headed upstairs to the main deck. She spotted Dust at the helm and walked over.

"How are you feeling?"

Xavier leaned down to pick up the bag, ready to follow until he heard a shout. He looked over to see the same purple-haired man running right over, causing him to pause on what he was doing. In seconds, the man stood in front of him, panting lightly in front of Xavier who was waiting to hear what he wanted.

It didn't take long for the man to regain back his breathing, looking at Xavier with a smile. "Hello lad," he greeted Xavier. His smile made the teen feeling a bit uneasy. "I couldn't help but notice you staring at me from my shop." Uneasiness intensified. "For a second I thought you were interested in me~"

"Oh um.." Xavier glanced to the side, folding his arms together. "Sorry, I was just looking around."

"Sure you were, but anyways that's not what I ran over here for! First let me introduce yourself. My name is Richian, please you meet you," Richian chuckled, sticking out his hand for a shake.

It looks like he was unaware of Komodo being right in front of Xavier in which the dragon snarled and instinctively reached up to snap his jaws at the hand. Richian let out a shrill yell in surprise, giving Xavier the impression that the dragon actually bit off his fingers because Komodo was chewing on something.

"HOLY ISHMAEL I'M SO SORRY!!" Xavier was in complete panic, unsure what to do. His face was full of dread. He dropped down to his knees to level with Komodo and grab hold of the dragon's snout. Komodo hissed in response, trying to pull back but Xavier was firm. "Spit it out, damn dragon! Spit it out!"

Komodo fought hard but Xavier was stronger than he is, forcefully opening up Komodo's mouth in hopes to pull out anything that shouldn't belong in there. Though, he didn't spot any fingers, but some rings that were chewed and broken down.

"...what."

"Ha! Got you there!~"

Xavier released Komodo's mouth in which the dragon proceeds to spit out the broken pieces of the rings, growling low in distaste. Xavier look up at Richian who had all fingers intact and smiling gleefully. The man even finger gunned him in a joking manner. Xavier's face suddenly went cold as he heard Perkisas roaring in laughter in his head.

"I know, a cruel joke I played there, but hey, I managed to pull away when your pet jumped up!" Richian said but his smile slightly weakened when noticing the teen's face. "...eheh..~"

"What you want?" Xavier grumbled, standing back up.

"Oh it's nothing really. I know about your party going to head out to help our lizardmen problem but I do have a concern that is not related to the lizardmen. I feel like you may find it interesting to hear," Richian started to explain, Xavier sighing and taking notice his teammates were waiting for him.

"Can this wait for another time...?" Xavier muttered.

"Yes, of course! How about tonight when you come back, yes? We can have drinks together to celebrate your successful mission, and you look like a fun guy to have a drink with~," Richian said with a wink. Xavier shuddered slightly. "Take care now. Watch out for the scorpion kings though, nasty critters they are." With that, Richard waved his farewell and walk back to his shop.

Xavier watched him a little longer before he hurried after the group with Komodo at his heels, hoping no one would ask questions to him.

Arya, however, noticed the exchange and even laughed quietly at the rather odd joke some strange man had pulled on Xavier, though she would probably deny it if he asked. What he had asked for, however, was beyond her. She managed to calm down in time to see him walking briskly after them, but couldn't easily mask the slight smirk and teasing tone when she asked, "friend of yours? He seems like a nice man."

Rain

"It seems like forever since I really explored Bethma again."

"I remember everyone asking you to refill their water bottles. There was one time where you couldn't activate Metronome."

"Elsword and Rena drink a lot of water! I did tell them that they shouldn't do that..."

Walking ahead of the group, Rain hums a soft, slow tune. The desert canyons loomed high, and the heat caressed her body. She was suddenly grateful for her change of clothes.

"You're welcome."

She stifles a groan. Her other self really loves proving that she's right. Looking back at her allies, the other Rain chuckles when Arya sends a flirty tone Xavier's way.

"It looks like we have a ladies' man, Rain. It seems like he's picking up everyone, even you."

"I-I appreciate it if you didn't mention that."

Rain sees a bunch of lizardmen and a few scorpions in the distance, seemingly minding their own business. The instance they glance in their direction, however, the lizards wield their spears into an aggressive position, while the scorpions quickly scurry over snapping their pincers. The singer summons a few of her tiny daggers.

"Knock out only the lizardmen. You're allowed to kill anything else. Let's finish this before it gets dark."

With that, Rain taps her foot several times and charges into Dragon Road.

Hearing Rain warning them to knock out the lizardmen alerted Arya to the enemy, and a wicked grin flashed across her face at the thought of getting back at the creatures that had ambushed her before. "With pleasure," she replied, checking the blade she was given. It was a crude replica of a katana, but it would have to do. She rushed ahead, smashing the pommel of her blade into the nearest lizardman's temple, immediately rendering them unconscious. It was a quiet moment between the lizardmen and Arya after her initial blow as if they were trying to recognize the girl that had made one of their brethren crumble so easily. And after that moment was over, they converged on her with a frenzy.

Arya ducked the initial thrusts from the spears, sweeping out her leg to trip any lizardmen that weren't immediately alert to her movements, then delivered a powerful rising kick to the nearest one, launching herself and her victim into the air slightly. Two more kicks later, and she tumbled to the ground and rolled back to her feet, instantly rising back into the air. "Not so easy now, is it?" she berated the lizardmen as they awaited her next assault. And so, she gave it to them.

Arya crashed down into the group of lizardmen, slashing only at their weapons and rendering them all but useless, following up with another quick dash out of the group, grinning as the lizardmen fell into a heap, unconscious, but very much alive. She sighed softly, her attackers dealt with. "That was easier a second time." She said to herself. Not wanting to hog the lizardmen to herself, she rushed ahead to deal with the scorpions instead, slashing off tails and pincers. At one point, she stood perfectly still, katana sheathed and beckoned the scorpions closer.

As if taking the bait, several of them charged at her, pincers and poisonous tails at the ready. "Unshaken Will," Arya spoke as she slashed out, cutting her attackers clean in half. She shook off the blood and sheathed her katana, her attack done.

Hearing his name, he looked to the side to see Rena, smiling sweetly.

"Still hurting a little, but that won't kill me. Looks like the dizzy spell is off the hook with you." He commented while still steering the ship. "I can see our landing spot now, should take me a few minutes to park us."

Using a free hand, he pointed towards a small lake with an oddly shaped man-made cave. It was big enough for the ship to fit and close enough to the lake to replenish any kind of drinks.

"I stumbled in this place a few decades ago, doing recon missions for the demon realm. Nobody usually comes around that part and since the other side is big enough, we can lift off as soon as the ship has it's refill." He told her as he slowly settled the ship down carefully and slowing down the speed.

"We aren't that far away from Bethma village as well, so supplies are easy to buy as well." Just as he said that, he settled down the ship. "I'm heading outside, it's like a oven in here." Shutting the controls down, he stretched himself while walking.

"You can have a few extra minutes of rest, afterwards we'll begin your training."

"Carna, your arm!" Add quickly bounced as he saw his brother change his arm slightly. "T-those bastards! Is this what Glave told me about screwing with time? This... I..." He tried to calm down as he paced back and forth.

"It's okay, everything's okay. I'll run some tests on you and I'll try to fix this! This can be fixed!" He thought out loud, but since he never had the chance or opportunity or any kind of reason to touch the corruption, now it was different. But the problem from him was that he knew next to nothing about it.

"It's okay Carna, I'll fix this don't you worry." He declared this to his little brother. "You're still you, you're still human even if you don't feel like it! Because if you weren't, would you even try to talk to me? Would you not care about our family?"

"Now get out there, you know what to do," said a raspy voice in Ren's head, after hearing Rain's orders. A split second and Ren already had his rifle up and aimed.

"Apollo's Blessing..." He breathed out. Shots rang out like a thousand thunderclaps, but each bullet returned a kill. Ren shot down scorpions and anything hostile that wasn't a lizardman with deadly precision. He also took care not to shoot Arya who had already rushed into the chaos. He was impressed by her martial arts skills, but it was nothing he'd never seen before.

With most non-lizard enemies taken down, Ren holstered his rifle and brought out his sword. Gripping the handle with both hands, he rushed into the fray to give Arya some support.

Oblivio/Carna

"I...I don't know. Before I became known as Oblivio completely, and before I met Hennon, I went around lost and searching for a way to seal the corruption...but it ended up becoming stronger through my anxiety and sorrow. My body started changing, started becoming stronger than ever before. ...sometimes the beasts from the Void try to take me back there. I don't know if there's a way to change me back even when I know what they did to me. It's ancient and changing back is almost like defying a God their right. ...I'm not sure if there's even a way to fight back pure Chaos. Chaos destroys everything that is dear and beloved, twisting and turning it into something worse.

"Sometimes I get excessively sick and vulnerable, leaving the transformation as my only defence...and if Hennon knew I defected from the Order, I'll get chased down and taken back. Heh...maybe this time they'll leave me without my consciousness and personality..." He shuddered at the thought, the corruption slowly spreading to his shoulder and staying there. When Add came closer, Carna quickly warned, "Don't touch the poison. It can quickly deteriorate the flesh like acid."

"Not a friend," Xavier bluntly responded to Arya's question, glancing down every once in awhile to be sure Komodo is right with him and not exploring away.

Though, it just now occurred to him about Komodo's size. If he could get bigger in his transformation with the help of the el shards, like when he was much smaller. '...maybe I could ride him one day?' Xavier thought to himself, though from how things are, Komodo probably would still ask to be carried around.

Xavier look back up when Rain alerted them about the lizardmen and how to only knock them out. He slightly bit his lower lip, knowing that his skills are rather ruthless and it would be worse in a dry weather like this. He'll just settle for basic attacks and possibly Komodo's help.

"Let's see if I am right about this," Xavier mumbled to himself, fishing through his pouch and tossing an el shard at the dragon.

Komodo immediately caught it with his teeth and shortly eating the small fragment. The dragon shivered in response, the scales shifting colors and Komodo starting to spread his wings. Xavier left him be and ran right into battle after Steele did a wide range attack.

He madd sure to not trip over the unconscious soldiers and work on those who happened to be up and ready to fight. Xavier went ahead to give himself an el shard, his gauntlets giving off a gentle glow. He slide behind two lizardmen, leaving behind a trail of flames in which they try to jump away from the fire before getting whacked square in the head by the gauntlets of his. One dropped unconscious though the other seem to have a thicker skull. Xavier shifted his body to dodge a heavy attack and went ahead to smash his gauntlets down to the ground in front of his enemy. Flame erupted from below which stunned the lizardmen from the heat but was soon knocked out by a heavy punch into the face. Xavier hoped they don't mind having burn marks the time they're recovered.

Airi followed Rain into Dragon Road. Why she lied about her name to Arya, she didn't know.

Unsheathing her chain scythes, Airi cleared out the path of scorpions in front of her. Easy.

A nearby lizardman tried spearing her from behind. Airi quickly cloned herself and sent the lizardman flying from behind. Easy peasy.

More lizardman started approaching her. How foolish.

She attacked randomly, swinging her chains when needed. The fight was like a dance except with a very boring partner. Finished, she charged where Rain and the others were.

Rain

As she jumps over the lizardman engaging her, she throws a dagger into the shoulder of it, unleashing a thin fog. Rain follows suit with a soft note, causing every monster to hear her voice to drop down onto the floor. She continues with her quiet lullaby as she glides past Arya, making sure her daggers don't hit any vital organs. The dancer sang a song reminiscent of a sunken kingdom, and while she didn't speak a single tangible word, her voice held all of the emotions needed to tell the story. She stumbles upon a komodo, similar to the one Xavier has, and jumps over it, wanting to avoid upsetting him.

"Just a bit further, past the Scorpion King and the lizardman warriors..."

"Hopefully, we find those beads soon. I'd hate to actually end Berauk's life..."

Rain continues onward, unsure whether she should rely on her other self's memories in a world where nothing is the same.

Arya turned after her battle to see the others engaged in their fights wad became impressed. Rain's singing and dancing, combined with her daggers made her quite deadly. Also a great sparring partner for when her weapon was repaired. Xavier and Komodo were literal powerhouses, and Xayah seemed to be making quick work of the enemies around her as if she were bored. Arya hoped that sparring with her would be a suitable challenge as well. Steele, however, seemed to stay at a distance for a while, picking off anything that wasn't a lizardman around her rather quickly. When she saw him coming to back her up, she smiled faintly. The gesture was nice but hardly necessary. But she wouldn't say that.

She ran forward, towards the Scorpion King in hopes of getting the first strike on it-

And got herself caught in its powerful pincers for her impatience. She struggled and struck at them, but they were too tough for her blade, easily chipping it each time she struck. "Oh sunnova-" Arya was slammed into the ground before she could finish her sentence, the deadly poisonous stinger aimed right at her as she struggled to catch her breath and stand.

As if toying with her, the Scorpion King knocked her back down, pinning her with a foot on her chest, forcing more air from her lungs than she could take in. She was stuck there, slowly suffocating as the stinger lowered, looming dangerously close to her chest. Her struggling slowed as she lost the energy to move, her lungs burning for air.

"Damn..." Ren cursed when he saw the Scorpion King pin down Arya.

He sheathed his sword and put two fingers into his mouth. He took in a breath of air, and let out a taunting whistle. The Scorpion King turned to him, its eyes burning with rage, and began to charge at him. When it got close, Ren drew his sword, and the aura of the Armageddon Blade extended from the hilt.

He leaped into the air and onto the charging Scorpion's back.

Sphhhlt!

Ren delivered a vicious horizontal cut towards the scorpion's tail. The Scorpion King screeched as its tail flew off, and it bucked in anger, sending Ren flying.

Xavier looked around for any standing enemies and noticed Arya's situation against the Scorpion King. He watched Steele getting knocked away after cutting off its tail and let out a whistle of commands for Komodo. A gust of wind flew by and moments later a black dragon rushed to help again the King Scorpion, being the same size as its enemy.

Komodo did grew in size, his scales were black with purple as its secondary color. His body frame appeared to be bulky, having thicker limbs and many underbites. He roared at the king, letting out purple fire balls at the creature in which it shrieked in pain. Komodo got hit with the scorpion's claws which caused a gash on him but retaliated right back by snapping his jaws around the pincer and aggressively starting to shake his head in attempt to pull it off. As he was latched on the scorpion, his wound slowly healed.

Xavier even felt some energy returning to him and had to endure an attack from the lizardman since he was busy focusing on Komodo. He made a quick work to knock out the lizardman before moving onwards.

Rain

Seeing Arya pinned by the Scorpion King made her spin faster. Steele was the first to help her, but both Xavier and he couldn't defeat the monster, and the elf was even sent flying.

"Rain, please!"

"No problem!"

Her other self takes over her body. She unsheathes Ash's daggers and plants her feet into the ground. An array of identical daggers appears behind the siren, glinting at the scorpion. With a battle cry, Rain lets her attack fly, pushing the scorpion backwards.

"Steel Symphony!"

Her shyer self regains control, jumping up above Arya and Steele to throw five daggers in a circle. Soft blue light soon leak out of her weapons, engulfing her teammates with warmth.

"Perfect Circle."

Landing next to Arya, Rain lets out a gentle smile and lends her a hand.

As Ren got up, he smiled as he saw Rain helping up the new comer. That smile quickly faded when he saw the enraged Scorpion King charging at them. Adrenaline flared in his bloodstream like an explosion. Ren ran directly towards the charging Scorpion. He leaped forward into a cartwheel. He used his hands to push himself up into a jump just as the Scorpion King snapped forward with its deadly jaws.

Ren landed right on its neck. He grabbed the Scorpion's upper jaw and forced its mouth wide open. Grabbing a grenade from his hilt, he pressed the button to prime it, before shoving the explosive down its throat. Ren jammed his sword into the top of its jaw to seal its mouth shut. Finally, he ran like hell to escape the impending explosion.

Boom!

Ren heard a muffled explosion as the grenade went off inside the Scorpion King's throat, sending its head flying like a missile (and the sword with it). The blade embedded itself into the ground in front of Ren, and he retrieved it with a satisfied smirk on his face.

Lara nodded and left without a word. It would be for the best if she didn't see that elf too often. The similarities between her and Idrak were almost baffling. Once in her chambers, she took her belongings and went up towards the dock. Once there, she waited a minute before jumping out of the ship, protecting her body with multiple defense barriers. Once on the ground, she saw in the distance a cave big enough to be used as a hangar and a lake. That was probably the ship's landing site; it was a pretty good one, she had to admit. It was hidden and wasn't that far from civilization.

A hooded figure made its way from the sky to Bethma; they were thirty against one. Their leader had ordered them to kill any intruders and they had no excuse to disobey. Silently, they made their approach. A few seconds later, the head of one of the Spearman went flying to the feet of the middle of the unit.

"Your mana is weak, but its aroma...is certainly worth the try"
The wind pushed the hood off the head of a human female. The blood on the thin blade she carried identified her as the killer of one of their own. Each one knew that facing her was pure suicide, but so would be let her through once Berauk knew it. In less than five minutes, all of their corpses were left as scorpion fodder.

Arya gasped and choked as she greedily took in as much air as she could, once the Scorpion King left her alone. She was certainly glad she had waited for backup like Stella suggested now. She heard the sounds of battle around her as her companions worked to save her, and once she regained her breath, she took the offered hand from Rain and stood up. "Thank you," Arya graciously thanked the others. Looking down at her temporary weapon which looked more like an oversized steak knife now, she grimaced, wondering how to tell Toma about why the weapon looked so poorly handled. "I owe you all big time."

"Overkill," Xavier commented as he watched the head flown away.

Komodo took care of the other enemies as there was a fee left over, picking them up from the grounds and releasing them from a height that can make the lizardmen pass out from hitting the ground hard. As for the small scorpions, Komodo went ahead to feast off on them, crushing their armor shells and ripping them apart.

Xavier went up to Komodo, amazed by the size. Almost rideable. He paused when Komodo swung around with a predatory stare but it relaxed when he saw Xavier. Komodo picked up a limb from a scorpion and held it for Xavier, face to face. He had to hold his breath from the dragon's breath.

"No thank you," Xavier mumbled out, gently taking the limb from Komodo and tossing it aside.

Komodo gave Xavier a couple of confused sniffs, not understanding why Xavier denied his offering. Eventually he transferred some healing energy to Xavier, the scales around his head vibrating softly to create a calming hum. Xavier felt the energy that Komodo has to offer and the dragon stayed close to Xavier, waiting for any further commands.

Xavier walked over where the rest of the group is and heard what Arya said. "Maybe you can help me pay half for everyone's food and rooms?" He joked, not forgetting about his loss earlier. "That can be a good start, especially for me."

Rain

Chuckling as she hears Xavier ask Arya to lighten his financial load, Rain activates Piroutte again and skates backwards.

"That would help a lot, but there's something else I want to ask afterwards."

In the distance, two lizardmen warriors stand guard with their spears clinking against each other. Rain can see the lake in the distance, relieved that her natural element is within reach.

"Everyone, we're almost there. If you find anything mysterious or out of place, please tell me."

"Chances are...I know what it is."

Arya laughed softly as Xavier mentioned helping pay for everyone's rooms back in town. She might as well, since basically everyone, save Xayah, helped save her life. It was the least she could do, and she had more than enough to do just that. She fell in step beside Xayah, poking her cheek as she got close. "Why so quiet?" Arya asked, curious about the girl's demeanor. "Wait, don't tell me! You're...mute? Are you mute? You're not mute, are you? Or maybe..." gasping dramatically, Arya narrowed her eyes and inched closer to Xayah, whispering, "Or maybe you like staring at people's butts?"

Airi glanced at Rain's butt. Nothing special. Xavier? Nope. Steele? Nothing. She had to admit that their butts had a nice curve to it.

"No, I don't like staring at butts, thank you very much. I'm not mute either." Replied Airi.
