Okay, I backread and I've got the gist of the setting. I have a few ideas to contribute, but they're mostly greater-scope stuff having to do with the nature of the world than the particular corner most of the action will be happening in.


As far as characters go, I did have a concept I've been sitting on, but I'm gonna have to tweak it since it involved some tech fantasy stuff and wasn't exactly made for this paeticular setting.

Yeah,we'll probably develop the scope as things play out but it looks like the first "session" will involve escaping from the kidnapping/festival and maybe figuring out who's involved

So I intended the Lightbringer to be iffy in status, whether or not he is an actual god. A lot of JRPGs do the false god thing so I think it could fit in this roleplay. Perhaps the Lightbringer is a just a very powerful wizard who created a cult around him that blossomed into a full on religion. Of course the wizard is probably dead by now, but perhaps Ascensia keeps his idea alive to maintain power over all the followers of the Lightbringer across the continent. What do you guys think?
 
Zufaix Zufaix Would you be cool with me using the playtest floralist reflavored with magic crystals instead of plants? Idea just popped into my head and I thought it would fit the setting really well.

Additionally, I added the playtest classes to the google drive as I approved SP3CT3R SP3CT3R request, so feel free to have a look over the Floralist, Gourmet, and Invoker. Feels only fair if everyone has access to it.

At this point (assuming everyone is fine with the lore thus far) we should work on characters and backstories if you haven't already. That way we can get more some villains written up, and determine character relationships.

I'm getting choice paralysis trying to decide what other class(es) to use in conjunction with Floralist, so I might just go Weaponmaster. Bonus to landing attacks hasn't hurt anybody. (Not including the people being attacked)

Anyways, I was thinking my character was part of some sort of nomadic tribe that worships the magic crystals directly but split off after they got dogmatic and cultish. He's currently trying to track them down again after hearing they're planning a terrorist attack in order to stop them (which could be incorporated into the opening act).

Sounds like a good plan. We have a Tinkerer/Entropist and a Guardian/Elementalist among our initial specializations ( Lost Martian Lost Martian and StardustTroubadour StardustTroubadour please clarify if I'm wrong),so another strong attacker can't hurt.
 
I gotta say,those magiseeds are mostly balanced around the fact that you can only have one active at a time,but those "every enemy you can see suffers [status]" ones are really strong
 
They are, but there are other things comparable to it in the core rulebook, like Spiritists Torpor spell. It slows 3 targets for 5 less mana, and while technically less targets, it's not very often that you'll be facing hoards of enemies on my experience. The system is balanced around equal actions on both sides, meaning you guys likely won't be facing more than 5 enemies at any given time, and often it'll be closer to 2 or 3 elites.

Either way, we'll play it by ear for now. I don't think it'll cause issues, but we can bring it up to everyone if it does.
 


I think I did this right. Let me know if something's off. I rolled an 8 on my saving's so I just used the spare Zennit to bump the Armor from Bronze to Runic just for some added defense.

Your total physical defense is 15,right? Or if you write it the same way I did,11+4.

Not 8+15.

11 from Runic Plate which is martial armor so your Dex isn't taken into account,and then +4 from having two Runic Shields equipped for a total of 15.

Non-martial armors (without the red star symbol) use your Dex which isn't a fixed value,so they can be weakened,while martial armor cannot be. If you're wearing martial armor you don't add your Dex to the fixed value.

Other than that I think everything else is in order,though of course it's our GM who's supposed to really scrutinize it.
