You seem to have completely missed the points of those paragraphs Godman.Godman873 said:Soo this whole post makes it sound like you want emotions to dictate how a battle goes regardless of strategy... While you did say you seem to follow it up by completely contradicting yourself in the next couple paragraphs...
could you clear up what you meant?
@Kyero
The first paragraph states that the number of badges you hold does not actually factor in to how strong you are as a Trainer nor how strong your Pokemon are. They are just objects, and anyone can win an object with some hard work, determination, and type match planning against a Gym Leader. But it doesn't mean that you're actually better than someone else say if you have 7 badges and they have 5. If they and their Pokemon are more well trained and more unified in the way they battle, they can still beat your team even if they have fewer badges. Again, Badges are just objects.
That's all the first paragraph meant. Make sense?
The next few paragraphs are all talking about how our characters are under emotional fire and about how they can grow and people and find the strength to move on. These paragraphs have absolutely nothing to do with battling. It's all about how your character could find the strength and courage to continue to move against Team Rocket despite what is coming ahead. Your characters are angry right now (most of them anyway), but anger is not going to make them stronger, nor will determination make them more unified with their Pokemon.
Anyone can claim to have a strong bond with their Pokemon, but what does that mean? Such a phrase is meaningless on its own, and says nothing about how close you and your Pokemon are or how well they work together.
These last few paragraphs are talking about what having a "bond" with your Pokemon truly means, and how anyone can claim to have a bond that is "stronger than anything" or "undying" or whatever other phrase of choice you have to say to try and prove that your bond cannot be broken. But the fact is that ANY bond can be broken if subjected to enough stress in the right areas. It's very convenient in the anime/manga/video game world to say that a bond cannot be broken, but the fact is that nothing in this world, not even ideas or concepts, are truly indestructible.
So does all of this make sense now? The first paragraph just says that badges mean nothing in determining how "strong" you and your Pokemon team are. The others are talking about character development.
Hey there.Braxnond said:Posted in the CS tab, @Kyero.
Since you're new I'm going to point out that the canon characters from the Pokemon series are not in this RP. The Gym Leader of Celadon City is not "Erika," it's a male now named Hans, and he's a Poison Type Gym Leader. The list of Gym Leader names are in the "Neutral Characters" thread, and the biographies are just above them as well as pictures.
So take some more time to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of this RP and if you have any questions please ask. I'll hold off on accepting your character for a little while until you feel you've gotten a solid grip on how this RP differs from the Pokemon world you have come to know in the games/anime/manga.
