'Attacking a building, and a laboratory, no less,' Cleopatria purred suspiciously. 'Wouldn't they send rangers or police to help?'

Seth nodded at her words before turning to Nex. His belt jingled slightly as the man could feel his party growing anxious. They could hear the whispers of a battle in the wind, and it excited them. Speaking of that, Seth quickly made a decision on who to bring out. Latios was a psychic and dragon-type, or rumored to be one. A bird couldn't do much against one, and neither could Ken, even if Seth was being hopeful. Cleopatria could hold her ground, but she wouldn't be able to strike. That left one option open...

"I guess if he's attacking a building, we had better hurry. I imagine the police force isn't capable of driving it off?" he mused.

"Maybe." Nex said as he ran towards the lab which Latios was attacking. He recalled Relic and got out a different pokeball. Sage and Relic wouldn't be the best choice to go up against a psychic type legendary. If he was going against a legendary, he would need a type advantage. He might keep Sage out to help with with some strategies.

The teen was fast, Seth had to give him that. One moment he was at the bounty board and the next he was out the door. Seth grumbled under his breath and recalled Cleopatria for her sake, figuring she would have a hard time keeping up with the two. As he ran, he grasped for a pokeball and enlarged it. He could feel his pack smacking against him as he ran, and he silently thanked his father for providing him with a soft exterior, less the backpack start to hurt as it bounced. The bearded trainer quickly readjusted his glasses before looking down at his pokeball.

"Alastor, get ready. I'm going to need you here in a moment," he said to it.

A large building surrounded by an orb of energy appeared on the horizon as they got closer. One scientist was just outside of the barrier and another was inside. They seemed to be talking to each other about how t solve this problem. Latios was flying near the top of the force field and fired multiple attacks at it in an attempt to get through. Nex sent out Sage and Luna (his ledian) as he walked to one of the few police officers. The officer had a Bastodion with him which was protecting them in case the Latios decided to make them his target. "So, what is the situation?" Nex said casually to the officer. "Can't you tell?! That pokemon is trying to attack the lab!" The officer replied. Nex, acting surprisingly calm, looked at Latios and said "What exactly is in that lab?" The officer, surprised at how calm the kid was, replied "We checked it out earlier. They make POKEcomms and other devices." Nex squinted at the pokemon attacking and turned to Sage. "I need you to teleport inside the lab and get the other scientists out of there. Make sure to keep a link open so we can communicate." After a few seconds, Sage replied "Okay." and then warped into the lab [teleport].

Without missing a beat, Seth hurled his pokeball forward and watched as it split apart to release one of his most trusted companions. Shrugging off the bright light and feeling of sustained stasis was Alastor the Gallade, the last evolution for special males in the Ralts line. He brandished his arm blades and swung about to test his speed and strength before turning to his trainer. With a polite bow, he addressed him.

'Master Seth,' he said. 'I suppose I can be of service?'

Seth merely pointed to the Latios flying about overhead and nodded. He made sure Alastor noticed Nex, for he had the feeling he would be working alongside the trainer to bring this legendary to the ground, or at least to rational thought again. With a quick glance over his shoulder, he could see the teen's Gardevoir teleport away, possibly to assist those in the lab in some way, shape, or form. He could also see a Ledian, a Johto bug pokemon.

'Ah, I see. How troublesome.'

"Very troublesome indeed," Seth replied. He turned to Nex and doffed his hat. "If your Ledian can distract Latios, I reckon Alastor can get in there and try to pin him down to the ground. Once there, it can be a fair fight."

As Seth said that, Alastor showcased his arm blades which were now glowing slightly with a blue energy.

Luna quickly flew up towards Latios and punched him at blinding speed [mach punch]. Latios flew back a bit but quickly recovered. He looked at the pokemon that attacked him and soon after shot a powerful beam at it [dragon pulse]. Luna tried to dodge it but couldn't get totally out of the way and was hit by a portion of the attack.

(Still catching up but could you guys hold off on the catching Latios. Because I brought it up because I wanted Kaylie to go after it. I can edit my post or udjust it so that their finished with the battle but I want JC and Kaylie to join the hunt for Latios.)

([MENTION=3139]JCKane[/MENTION]: It's not really a hunt, but you can join the fight. It just started so there shouldn't be a lot of issues.)

(you know never mind... you guys seem to be doing better without me. So I'm just done with the RP. I don't like hanging you guys up and i don't like getting left behind. Maybe I'll rejoin if I get full time internet at home or something. But until then. Later.)

'It seems that driving off our foe would be a better option than simply catching him,' Alastor mused as he brought his arms back for an attack.

Seth nodded at Alastor's logic and ordered him to assist the Ledian. The Gallade lurched forward and into the fray, all the while pivoting about and flinging waves of blue energy at the Latios [Psycho Cutter]. Until the legendary got lower, the best Alastor could do was launch small pecks and jabs of energy. His link to his trainer was psychic, and he knew when to rely on his own instincts of natural self-preservation than to wait for an order. No use in waiting for the order to dodge, he would do it himself.

Latios, who was focusing on the Ledian, didn't see the psychic attacks and was hit by a few. He then focused on the Gallade and charged towards him with incredible speed. He then focused his willpower to his head and attacked Alastor [zen headbutt]. Ledian flew towards Latios but couldn't keep up. Soon she stopped and began charging up energy.

'Oof!' Alastor cried out as he was launched back.

Suffice to say, a zen headbutt strike hurt if it was placed in the right position. The one that hit the Gallade was off-center, but what it lacked in accuracy, it surely made up for in power. With the legendary Latios flying full speed at him, Alastor was caught off guard and had no time to dodge. And boy, did it hurt. He waved to Seth to show that he was alright for the moment before picking himself up. It would take more than that to ground a fighter.

"Alastor, do that again, but cut 'em in the side when he retaliates!" Seth commanded.

Alastor obliged his trainer's order and prepared to launch another set of Psycho Cut attacks.

Latios quickly caught on (he said it out loud, after all) and instead of closing the gap he shot a strong psychic wave to go through the psycho cuts [psychic]. Luna finished charging and shot a powerful beam of solar energy at Latios [solarbeam], which he got clipped by as he tried to dodge and fell towards the ground.

'Bother,' Alastor muttered as he looked on.

"Alastor, move in!" Seth cried as he watched the Latios fall.

Now this was a splendid opportunity. The Gallade nodded and picked himself up again before speeding off in the direction of the Latios. It predicted that the pokemon would adjust itself before it hit the ground, and simply waiting for it to land before curbstomping it wouldn't be likely. Instead, the gallant pokemon leapt to the trees and kicked off the trunks to get to a higher elevation. Soon, it entered the airspace close to Latios.

With a shout, Alastor reeled an arm back for a moment before striking forward in a savage cut.

Latios recovered and quickly pulled up, flying low to the ground at an incredible speed. He didn't see Alastor's attack coming and was hit, which caused him to slide into the ground. After he stopped moving, he healed himself [recover] and shot a powerful damaging light at Alastor [luster purge]. Luna, who was still in the air, flew down at Latios and attempted to barrage him with punches [comet punch]. Latios, however, shot a mighty gust out of his mouth at Luna, which caused her to crash into the force field [dragonbreath].

Fighting a legendary was much tougher than fighting some regular dragon type. Alastor took the powerful hit and laid prone on the ground for a moment before strugling back up to his feet. His chest heaved as he held his right arm, obviously not in pristine condition anymore. The strike from the legednary had taken a lot out of him, and he did not have the agility neccesary for prolonged dodging. He sighed and clenched his fists, not yet finished.

'Fear not, as long as I draw breath, I can still fight,' the Gallade grunted as he caught Seth's concerning look.

"Understood," Seth replied, all knowing of the pokemon's desire to protect those inside the lab. If he could not defeat the Latios, the best he could do is buy time. "We gotta focus on knocking this pokemon out. That Gardevoir is doing all that he can to tend to those inside, so give it your all, Alastor."

Alastor nodded and straightened himself up. He eased himself into a fighting stance and focused his attention on the Latios flying about. If need be, he would attempt to put a hard stop to the dragon by litterally grabbing the Tauros by the horns and flinging it about. Or a nice side-slash would do...

"All of the scientists have been evacuated... against their will in some cases." Sage said through the POKEcomm to Nex. "Why would they want to stay in the lab?" Nex replied. "I'm not sure. One of the things I found in here is a psychic jammer. It jams psychic communication, which is why I am using the comm. I assumed that it was so Latios couldn't get in their heads. There's a place even deeper into the lab, but it will probably cut off the comm's connection." "Go ahead."

Luna got up painfully. She knew that she couldn't take another hit like that. She decided to land and rest for a few seconds [roost]. Latios charged towards Alastor and prepared to attack him with a psychically boosted headbut [zen headbutt].

'Not so fa- Oof!'

Alastor grunted in shock as he grabbed onto Latios from the front [Counter]. Despite his firm footing, the Gallade was pushed several meters back. Large gashes were ripped into the ground in his wake. Somehow, the pokemon managed to right himself and get his strength back before skidding to a stop with the white and blue head of Latios clenched firmly between his green hands. Alastor drove his feet into the ground and pushed forward to even the force being exerted by the unlikely foe.

It probably would do no good, but the Gardevoir needed more time for rescuing and the Ledian needed to recover. Alastor's words could provide the time, he hoped. With a scowl of agony tugging at his lips, the Gallade spoke towards his adversary.

'That is enough! Just what, pray tell, are you doing here? Why are you putting lives in danger?' As his arms began to shake from exhaustion, the Gallade choked out, 'Answer me, I implore you!'

Latios' expression changed from determination to shock. "He's not one of them?" He said to himself. The force field suddenly started to fade and eventually disappeared. Sage soon appeared on the top of the lab's roof [teleport] and communicated psychically to the group, as he was holding the crushed remains psychic jammer. "There is no need to fight. He isn't on a mindless rampage." Just then a red blur burst through the outer wall of the lab with great speed. It was Latias. Latios and Latias approached each other and conversed through closed-circuit psychic link. "You've done your job well, Luna." Nex said as he recalled Luna into her pokeball.

Seth blinked twice in bewilderment. In barely a minute, the Latios he had believed was hellbent on obtaining something suddenly relented in the hold of his Gallade. It didn't seem to be on a rampage, yes, but Seth and his partner weren't so sure then. Now, it was off to the side with its counterpart, Latias. Everything seemed to be completely domestic, and it unnerved the young man in a way. Was Latios tunnelvisioned on something?

The sudden appearance of Latias had to have had something to do with Latios' behavior. It burst through the lab's outer walls and went straight towards its counterpart, but the reason why it was in the lab to begin with was questionable. Seth and a very exhausted Alastor turned to Sage and looked at the crushed remains of some contraption, most likely the psychic jammer. Was Latias being held in the lab against it... her will? Were Latios' efforts for her rescue? There was always motive to an attack, and Seth believed this one to be the right motive.

'...Aye, that's good to hear. M-many thanks, good sir,' Alastor said wearily to Sage as he gave a sluggish salute before falling to one knee. 'That Ledian... she can hold her own, it seems... But that Latios did a n-'

"Alastor, shut up," Seth said bluntly as he produced a bottle of water from his pack. He handed the water to his gallant partner and fished out a potion bottle before getting to work on tending to his wounds. "Save your strength. Yah, you did a fine job, and I'm impressed that you grabbed onto Latios. Ken's not going to believe you if you tell him about it, though," Seth added with a small smile.

'He'll be right bothered,' Alastor chuckled. He winced and took a swig from the water bottle before steadying himself for further treatment.

"Hey Nex!" Seth shouted. "Good work out there. Just one thing: what the hell is going on around here?"

Sage teleported to Nex and spoke telepathically to him explaining what he can figure out about what is going on. "From what I can piece together, the group of scientists had somehow managed to capture Latias. They took her to the lab and used a psychic jammer so she couldn't tell Latios anything. This part I can only guess, but Latias might have called for help before she was captured, or possibly they could somehow sense each others presence. Either way Latios was able to find the lab. The scientists saw him and immediately put up the force field, only confirming Latios' suspicions. Then we came and attacked him, so he figured that they had called for backup." Nex explained.

"I hope Latios and Latias don't think we're the bad guys here," Seth muttered. He rubbed a bit of ointment into Alastor's arms before standing up straight. "Just what were these scientists doing with Latias? What are they planning? I don't like this one bit."

"I don't know what they were doing. They could have tried to clone her, they could have been after the soul dew, or they could have tried to corrupt her and turn her against the population. Either way, Sage stopped them before they could do anything." Nex said. "Unfortunately the scientists seem to have escaped, so we can't interrogate them."

Seth nodded upon receiving the information from Nex. This was concerning. Anything regarding a legendary pokemon was troublesome, and if someone or some organization was trying to harness their power for their own gains, something would have to give. Alastor stood up and checked himself over for anything out of place before looking to the two Eon pokemon.

'Perhaps our once-adversary knows what is happening, or at the very least, perhaps his charge will disclose something of value,' he said.

"Hmm, yeah, that could do something," Seth replied. He glanced at Nex and said, "How about we ask Latios and Latias what's going on? They don't seem to regard us as a threat, anyway."
