Pokemon Seniti Region

Nex smiled to himself. "As a threat, or as an enemy?" He said jokingly. "Sage stopped them before they could do anything and she couldn't read their minds, I don't think they know any more about them than we do."

(ok I'll be leaving the Roleplay for now. Since your guys left where my too were I'll just do a quick tie up with them until I get back. Please try to keep Latios from being caught until I'm back.)

JC and Kaylie finished their battle with JC winning. Once they finished they headed off to further explore the Seniti Region.

(I hope that's good enough. Until next time.)

"Damn," Seth grumbled.

While Seth was somewhat glad for the distractions, he hated to leave things unfinished. Something was up here, and if the police couldn't do a thing to help, perhaps a few trainers could. Ignoring how stupid that sounded, Seth turned back to the lab and rubbed the back of his neck.

"So we're at a dead end."

"In a way, yes." Nex said. "We don't know where they went nor what they're planning, but I've had my share of these kind of organizations. They will probably do something else soon and chances are we will be able to stop them again. If we run into them again, then we can figure out what they're planning."

"Alright... Hey, this may seem out of the blue, but do you know of any gyms around here? If there's something going on behind the scenes, I need my team to be ready for a fight."

"Actually there are no gyms, or at least the kinds in the other regions." Nex said, "People usually train their pokemon in tournaments, although you can find various places to battle other people around the city."

(I also hope that more people join in)

The idea of battling regular trainers seemed much more appealing to Seth. A gym leader hardly ever changed up their tactics or Pokemon parties, instead relying on their infamy and skill to do the work for them. Fighting bigwigs always sent Butterfrees into the young man's stomach, simply because it was a do or die kind of situation. Regular trainers had more moxie, more flexibility. They adapted easily to changing situations and had a variety of tactics to use. Seth could practically feel Ken's excitement at the possibility of going toe to toe with someone's fighting type already.

Still, the two Eon Pokemon nearby warranted some skepticism. There was still much to do, and there were still many answers left. Seth gently patted his valiant Gallade on the back before giving a nod of gratitude towards Nex. They went over to where they still were before glancing at each other. Alastor would do the interpretation, as even he wanted to know if everything was still alright. Plus, he wanted to apologize.

'Ahem,' Alastor cleared his throat before taking a knee near Latios and Latias. 'I wish to apologize for attacking you. I had no knowledge of your motives or intentions, and that was the reason to our battle. If you do not mind me asking, are you two alright? Do you require further assistance?'

Leo was riding his Braviary, when he noticed trainer with pokemon below. "I think it's time for a detour Falcon, I told my parents that I'd visit later tonight, a quick conversation or battle shouldn't hurt my timing, besides...you're the quickest flyer I know," Leo said to his pokemon. Falcon nodded and swooped down before landing gracefully near Seth.

"We're alright." Latias said telepathically to the group, "They didn't have enough time to do anything to me." "And we do not need any assistance whatsoever." Latios said. The personalities between the two seemed totally opposite; Latias seemed cheerful while Latios seemed to be a loner. "And don't even ask if you can catch either of us." Latios said. // Torik was walking with his murkrow on his shoulder. He was eating an apple that they had stolen from a nearby market. Sure he had enough money to get it, but where's the fun in that?

"The thought never even crossed my mind," Seth said in a sincere tone of voice to Latios. "You have duties to attend to, I'd wager. Ripping you two away from them wouldn't be a good idea."

Seth held himself to his ideals when he said that. Unless there were exceptions, catching a legendary pokemon never sat right with him. Alastor concurred with Seth's reasoning with a curt nod. He shared his trainer's views, even if the rest of the party didn't think the same way. Still, they followed their trainer's orders and trusted his judgement.

'Of course,' Alastor said as he performed an elegant bow of respect. 'You are more than capable of holding your own in an engagement, Sir Latios. If there is nothing else that you require of us-'

"Then we'll be on our way," Seth finished as he politely doffed his hat. "Take care you two."

"See ya!" Latias said cheerfully as they flew away. Nex looked to the side as he noticed someone riding a braviary landing near them. He wondered if he came here because of Latios and Latias and examined him. He didn't seem to look like a big threat, and he only had three pokeballs with pokemon in them. If he was an enemy, he could easily overpower him with his six pokemon. That flying type could be a problem though; half of his pokemon have a weakness to it. He grabbed his pokeball containing Joltic as the trainer approached them.

(( @shadowdude505 - Sorry, didn't see that the post was directed towards me.))

'I do hope that trouble does not befall them again,' Alastor said as he rubbed his chin.

Seth nodded in agreement. Legendaries were respected and awed, and any business involving them was usually top secret and of the highest caliber. Whatever those scientists were doing, they obviously didn't want anyone else to know, and they obviously weren't treating Latias as humanely as she deserved to be treated. With another nod of thanks in Nex's direction before noticing the approaching trainer with the large eagle-like bird of prey under his command.

Now that was a pokemon Seth had not laid eyes on yet. He stared for a moment before consulting his Pokedex, which happily beeped at its master's touch before running a search program. It scrolled through available options before narrowing in on a pokemon called Braviary, a flying/normal type. Apparently, Braviaries were no pushovers. Seth pocketed his Pokedex and noticed the gaze of the blonde trainer. The young man was looking for a battle, like most aspiring trainers did.

"They don't appear to just anyone," Leo said, talking about Latias and Latios. "You must have a strong bond with pokemon, but that won't stop me from challenging you to a friendly battle, who wants to go first?"

(( @shadowdude505 ))

"Actually, we stumbled across them,"
Seth corrected as he polished his glasses before putting them back on. "A battle would be a welcome addition to the day, yeah. What did you have in mind? Any rules?"

(@Major Mario and shadowdude505: you may want to PM each other first to decide who will win.)

"I don't really care who goes first." Nex said as he put away his Joltic. Sage walked up next to Nex and looked at the trainer that approached them. He wondered if he could tell the difference between a male and female gardevoir. "I don't mind watching the fight."

"I'll throw my hat into the ring on this one," Seth said as he tipped his hat to Leo.

With a reassuring comment of gratitude towards Alastor, Seth returned him to his pokeball. He placed said contraption on his belt and reached for another ball. So, a battle, eh? It had been some time, but thanks to the recent battle between two native trainers combined with duking it out with a legendary, Seth was confident in himself and his team's abilities. At the very least, this battle would provide ample experience for his Purrloin, Cleopatria. He fixed the Shinx a scrutinizing look before tapping the button on his pokeball to allow his feline partner to come out onto the playing field.

'Hmm... What have we here?' Cleopatria purred as she sat on her haunches and looked over at the Shinx.

"A battle," Seth said to his dark cat. "Think you can hold your own, or should I reconsider?"

'Nah, I need some experience anyway.'

"Right then," Seth replied.

He and his Purrloin looked over at the challengers. It seemed as if they were just waiting for them to make the first move.

Shinx used her intimidate ability. "Bet you weren't expecting that," she said to Cleopatra. She charged up electricity before shooting it at the Purrloin [spark].

Disheartened but not discouraged, Cleopatria crouched down low and waited for the attack to get closer to her. Intimidation was always a fickle thing. Just about every pokemon was intimidating when its abilities and size were put into context. Hell, even Snorlaxes were intimidating. Comical, yet intimidating. Just before the attack struck home, the Purrloin darted out of the way.

'Projectile attacks won't work unless I'm much closer to a point where I can't dodge,' Cleopatria thought to herself.

'Don't let that Shinx beat you down with that look of hers,' Seth said over his Pokecomm to his partner. 'Get in closer.'

Cleopatria obliged her trainer's request and sped off towards the Shinx with a low growl growing in the pit of the dark cat's throat.

"You can do it Shinx," Leo said over the pokecomm. Shinx waited for Cleopatra to get closer, before sending a wave of electricity around her [discharge].

With the sparks and waves of energy radiating off from the cub-like electric type, the Purrloin found it near impossible to dodge them all. She was knocked back by a spastic spark and forced to tumble over herself. She quickly righted herself as she slid back and kicked off from the ground to get back into the game.

She darted around the Shinx and swiftly turned to pounce at it from the side. Before it could tackle the lighting cub down to the ground, Cleopatria- while airborne- slapped her front paws together directly and fiercely in front of the Shinx's face [Fake Out].

(Major Mario: correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to use fake out on the first turn for it to work? As a priority move with a 100% flinch rate, it would have given you a free hit.)

(Thesmashbro: Technically it was his first turn because he didn't do the attack bracket thing till Fake out).

Shinx flinched and couldn't attack. "I'll get you for that!" Shinx said to Cleopatra, "I still got a lot of fight in me."
