Before filling out your CS, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look at all the tabs. I know that it's a lot to read, but we tried to make it interesting - it's important that you understand the world, before jumping into it

I'm digging the vibe so far, just a couple questions however; firstly, what is the wider world like in this futuristic time? All mega cities or relatively the same? Secondly, is there still an active military force and what would it be like to serve in it these days? Lastly, what would it be like to be unemployed in this city? Is there an unemployment benefit?

Okay - so... without giving too much away... This answer won't really be relevant - basically to the people living there, New Miami IS the world. I can explain further, in PMs - if need be!

Secondly, is there still an active military force and what would it be like to serve in it these days?

There is no active military in New Miami - there's just the police (the Nightmare Squad)

Lastly, what would it be like to be unemployed in this city? Is there an unemployment benefit?

And everyone works, once they hit 15. The only people who don't work are children (who go to school to learn HOW to work) and those living in ISO.

So...would someone just be left to starve if they lost all motivation and refused to work?


Edit: Also what's security like in the city as a whole? If someone wanted to survive on theft and robbery alone would it be possible?

They're sort of bred to work, so the idea of not working wouldn't be so much a rebellion against the city, as it would be self-rebellion. Survival would be not so likely, because everything costs $$$


Theft is common in parts of the city, but the police rarely enforce any laws beyond Sleep violations... so the people kind of police themselves.


Honestly, though, most people... they wanna work, just to pass the time!

Would it be possible to make a character who's mute? o-o Or would there be too many complications? Or is it not possible to be mute with their advanced technology?

It's possible... but I feel like that would be a BIG pain in the butt for you to have to deal with? *LOL* If you want the challenge, go for it ;-)

Sorry if I'm being a pain with all these questions but I've got a character in mind who, putting it mildly has lost the will to work (legally anyway); so I'm just trying to get a good idea of what it would be like XP


Two more things spring to mind while I'm at it; so are there no forms of military organisations that are viable to have been in at all? Not even private military companies?


Also can you tell me a little more about what it would be like to be in the police force? Specifically the Grunt one.

Nope! Questions are great.


The only reason this character might be difficult to fit in is because the initial intro to the roleplay is going to take place at the Warehouse and requires everyone to be working there, to some degree.


No military within New Miami - and the police for is... well, we'll say lax xD they basically care about sleepers and very little else - Other crimes (particularly drug sales) aren't really a concern to them, unless they affect the Upper Class xD

(: I think Elle has revised everyone who has finished their character sheets. Everyone is looking really good so far! After some discussion, we wanted to let you know of a few things:

• Secondary characters - Are great! If you would like to add a second character, you'll need to discuss the character with Elle. Please PM her your ideas and she'll get back to you.
  
• Post length - Just a reminder that posts for each character should be 2-3 paragraphs minimum. It's easy to get overwhelmed with more than one character when you should be writing 300ish words for each character. That said, please consider carefully! If you know you can handle it, we welcome you to take the challenge and add multiple characters.
