[OOC Thread] The Whispering Meadow [The Lawgivers]

Bardlebee: While I'm sure you have fine random anime pictures, canon pictures of the canon characters can be found. Scarlet Whisper has multiple across the editions. CoTD South has a nice one on page 149. The Perfect is a bit harder to find, but he also has something on page 153 of CoTD South.

Alright, i have already written down the changes to my character in my sheet. In addition to that i should say that i won't be needing my armor (buff jacket), since it's incompatible with Solar Hero style (and from a roleplaying perspective, since the Unconquered Sun is my Aegis from now on), so i can give it to anyone of the other characters that needs it.

Also, to show my dedication to the pursual of Martial arts, without hindering my progression as a diplomat of the Sun, i decided not to invest those XP into essence progression (staying at permanent essence 2 for the time being), but to buy a couple more charms from Solar Hero style (in order to reach its form-type charm), so that i don't have to change any of my bureaucracy/linguistics/socialize charms that are integral to the character's concept and heavenly mandated mission.

Uhhh what? Scarlet Whisper and The Perfect pictures I posted ARE from CoTD: South. Check the stats page of Scarlet Whisper, unless thats not her... I know that she is depicted in other pictures as wearing a dress, but I didn't want to bring out my photoshop kung fu at the time.

Well, I had no way of telling, since I couldn't see any pictures. I just assumed that they were random because links to sites that host random pictures can sometimes have issues.

IIRC she's also in the Scroll of Exalts if it helps.

You could probably find an official pic in deviant art or something like that.

You guys can't see the pictures??

Nope, no pics for me. I can see the first two, but not Scarlet Whisper or the Perfect.

EDIT: Okay, I still want glowy arrows, and Bardlebee is still allowing changes... but with Blossom being an archer and Amethyst going the sorcery route (eventually), will we have enough melee fighters if Mahir is an archer? In my gaming experience, it generally takes a certain number of melee fighters to keep groups of baddies off the archers and/or mages. Never played Exalted before, though, so I will defer to the more experienced players' advice. :)

I sent an email to Myllinia via the board's email system, by the way. Hopefully she'll get it and respond.

Yup, as I said, I'm not going to go much higher in the glowing arrows department, so if you want to make it your schtick feel free to do so.

I'm much more interested by the diversity of charms and the ability to use them with different combat forms.

I'll be picking stuff from Thrown, Melee and Archery, and will be able to use those in any given ability, making her a very dangerous foe whatever the situation.

Modified Mahir's sheet to go the glowy arrows route. ^_^

I know I look like the Queen of Indecision here. As I said, this is my first time playing Exalted- well, technically the second time, but the first game didn't get very far before it died- so I'm still trying to understand the mechanics and build a character who will be useful and not die at the first opportunity. Thank you all for putting up with me.

I feel so out of the loop. I will check the game out tomorrow after a long rest.
Oooh very exciting. Sorry I didn't update yesterday, I got very sick from bad Christmas food. Update to come during my lunch!

*winds up the Canon Bat*

Knowledge of the Unconquered Sun isn't rare. The Unconquered Sun is worshiped in the Immaculate Faith alongside many, many other gods (so that he gets a nice supply of prayer to keep him happy. The boss needs the highest wages, after all). However, he is not in any way known to be tied to the Solars, even by the Cult of the Illuminated. THAT knowledge is, quite obviously, hard to come by, especially given that anyone who displays it had better have protection.

Ah, a simple rewording will do. Thanks for letting me know. I will just make it seem like he knows of the Solar's connection and not US himself.

Thanks for that. Which book can I read better about the Incarnae? I am not quite to them yet, but I have a feeling maybe I should read that earlier then anticipated. I feel like a bad GM when I make bad canon mistakes like that. ugh.

Either way, those who are about to post, just react to the fact that he knows that you are Solar and what you truly are. i.e. not demons or Anathema.

EDIT: Heh, fixed by adding "...and the connection to his Solars..." to a sentence. BEHOLD! Nothing EVER happened!

There's actually the supplement Glories of the Most High: Unconquered Sun, which if i remember correctly, provides - among other things - additional information on the nature etc of the Unconquered Sun. Also there are two more, one for Luna and another for the Maidens of Destiny.

I think i'm still riding the exaltation rollercoaster in full speed

(I'm glad that you like my style and speeches though, i promise to keep it up whenever possible).

When we're out of the Perfect's palace, i'll explain more to the rest of the circle, regarding my behaviour and sudden revelations, and quite possibly give an interesting (and perhaps unexpected spin to our adventure).

Brief Post up.

Accept or No Accept?

If you don't accept, it doesn't mean the end and in fact I mean for this game to be sand boxy, so if you punched him square in the jaw and beat the shit out of him right now, I won't end the game.

Of course, you will have to fight his guard in the mean time during the battle. If you over threw him then Takeno or one of you with Socialize charms/skills could coerce the crowd of angry mobs to leave you be. Then someone could come in with their Beaucracy and rewrite the laws...

But.... what about that orb? Sounds tasty!

You may be asking "But, Bardlebee, that orb and staff are pretty dope powerful First Age weapons. Why in Gods name would you give us those?" Well my friend... simple. This is a long campaign with a huge epic cause, to reshape Creation. Though the tools to do so do not come readily they are possible to be there. The Perfect is blinded by his own desires and he wants nothing more then to get that orb. Through the thousand years he has been alive it is possible he doesn't see the silliness of demanding Solars to do his dirty work. It would be a tough battle, no doubt, but you would earn the staff and for that you deserve to have it.

Besides, each one of you will get something just as powerful. Though yes, it would seem if you were to take the staff Takeno would be the rightful owner, as per his past life. Each of you got a image or a calling and you will continue to get imagery and flash backs. This is not so much Solar canon as it is an Incarnae mess up upstairs that is a deeper plot of the game.

So have fun! (Might wanna find an airship.)

EDIT: Because if you guys want your equally dope items in far far away lands then you will need a fast way to get there. I mean, I guess feet work, but some of you can't fly.

Ok, Takeno accepts. I will wait for you all to accept until moving on, or until 4/5th or even 3/5th acceptance if it takes long enough.

Nice explanation Bardlebee. Thanks a lot for giving us such chances and for making us feel important and somehow fit in the grand scheme of things. It's actually more than i could ever ask from a storyteller and i can't wait to see what's in store for the others, as well as for all of us in the future. :D

As for now, i plan to explain my visions to all the others and see what we can do about the situation. I'm still keeping the diplomatic way of solving things for the time being, but we'll see how things unfold.

Oh and by the way, those visions are amazing and really contribute to the overall atmosphere, helping me tremendously to get the right feel of the game. :D

I appreciate it. Of course it is a double edged sword when you don't have such a catalog of knowledge such as you guys. I am striving to read all the books. But... there are quite a bit of them. Sometimes I trip on canon facts, and sometimes a piece of my dialogue may include smaller facts (such as the architecture of a Dragon-Blooded's home) that are wrong. So, I just ask that you correct me for my own benefit, and to have patience in that. :)

I have actually read most of the Unconquered Sun book, but that was some time ago. I mainly remember the story of when he gave up himself for just a mere mortal and in the end of it all, he was indeed Unconquerable. It was pretty awesome stuff. Some stuff about Lytek there as well, him being a pretty meticulous guy about every exaltation being a unique snowflake that he scrubs JUST right. Which, makes your exalt strange.

To be honest, i haven't read that much, or in full detail, regarding Exalted. I've mostly read certain parts from most books, according to my interest or mood, so i can't say a possess a great deal of knowledge. So don't worry about it. :D

As for current developments, i didn't want to suddenly attack the Perfect trying to reclaim the staff i saw in my visions, only based upon the belief that i'm its rightful owner, especially without letting my companions know first, and i wouldn't want to endanger them by such an action, and put us all in harm's way just because i couldn't wait to formulate a proper plan and do things more smoothly. This is why i chose the more diplomatic approach and also because i'm still shaken by my vision's revelations that the staff's former owner (my previous incarnation that is) seemed to descend to madness while wielding the authority granted to her by the Unconquered Sun, in combination with the powers of the staff.

So i'm still trying to clarify a few things, discuss the matter with my circlemates and move on from there.

tis why I picked the trekking charm !

About the yes / no question... sincerely I don't know.

Blossom is not the merc type, she wasn't before she exalted, and now that she has it might not change.

Plus the Perfect has clearly shown that he and only he knows the right way, so she doesn't think she should give a man with such an attitude and illusions of grandeur more power than he already has.

Tyranny remains tyranny, wether it serves the interests of the people or not.

But there are other things to consider, maybe this orb is indeed something powerful that should be kept guarded... by whoever is guarding it right now, or perhaps by the newly formed circle.

All in all she's 70% no / 20% yes and 10% I don't know.

It's a bit too much to handle right now, she just exalted.

ST, you're doing fine, the story so far is great, and your style just improves post after post.

Keep up the good work.
