As a kid I always thought Cowboy boots were really cool on TV but they basically don't exist over here at all unless you're a horse rider. Admittedly I think the reason I thought they were cool was because I thought the spur's were just spinny bits for show.
I didn't know what they were for till I was a lot older.

At the start we said this was near the start of the final week of summer break.
And Day 2 is nearly overnow.

So I guess like.. I guess 4 or 5 days IC?
Which obviously some of which may get skipped through faster or slower than others, or entirely depending on what we all want to do.

Yeah there is like five days until the start of school basically next Monday IC. Glad this got brought up actually. I was going to ask how fast we want to get to school.

Figured we might want to end up skipping a few days to get to school starting to change things up a bit.

Oh the same note goes how will we handle school IC? Given that in general most of our characters wont be able to interact during that time. Obviously Nathan and Felix might be able to while in class but otherwise I guess people can interact at Lunch? Then timeskip to the end of the day? Unless we all decide to play some more secondary character's ofc - like how I was thinking about playing one of the other hockey kids for Jack's practice.

I think eventually Jack will cave in and give the team a try (hint hint maybe Asher, his one friend, will push him along and prod him to do so ) but right now for the beginning of the year, you can hold off on that since Jack isn't on the team or joining it yet- of course unless someone like Asher eventually prods him along and convinces him to give it a try, he'd definitely, give it a try.

I probably see us skipping through at least one day, maybe the Saturday and basically handwaving that as the 'Hey back to school shopping and prep montage', the staff taking the kids out to buy new backpacks, pens, books, clothes, ect they need for school. Less time for social interactions and just hey, what do you need? Right in and out and back to the minivan.

That's one idea if we decide we want to timeskip a day.

Yea exactly. We can time skip through a few days so it doesn't get redundant. But yea I like that little idea Dawn. Sounds good to me.

But if we are gonna play out a lot of the days in this little week before school starts, then I don't see Jack coming really out of his room other than for food or if someone knocks on his door since his little social battery is pretty much drained for the week. The purpose of this is because I don't really think I can get that many posts up tbh, so I seriously don't mind having Jack take a bit of a back seat for a few IC days and irl ones. Unless of course someone does knock on his door, than I'd be more than happy to post and make social interactions with whatever character does chose to do so, but if not, I'm more than ok of having Jack/me taking a tiny break before IC school starts.

Hmmm.. Part of this is just a issue that Jack doesn't want to interact and really there is only soo much we can do about that.

But maybe alternate plan: What if tomorrow so Wednesday IC we do this whole like go to the store situation like I proposed. So basically what we each play out becomes a 'wake up, get ready and get into van post' -we timeskip forwards through the majority of the day- then we could pick up again maybe in the minivan itself on the way back home in the evening.

It forces Jack to be in the same place as some of the others and get used to the others being around a little even if he doesn't interact with most of them. Some of the kids can chat or show stuff off what they bought, make some small talk in a group IC section before we return the kids back?

What we do once the kids are back E.g. play it out or timeskip we can figure out then?

Well he does want to interact with Asher, is my point. He'd never do it on his own but Asher has a way of words with Jack and could probably convince him and gently prod him along to join the hockey team, and from there you could play the captain or at least one or two (or whatever you want) of the boys on the school's team.

Well of course Jack will have to be in the minivan with all of the other kids so that might make for something.

Jack can backseat comment, or observe the other kids, see them chatting and atleast get more familiar with them even if he doesn't talk to anyone. Or maybe he'll have a little side chat in the minivan with Asher.
It it gives a scene that means you're not gonna have to take a 3 week break IC becuase Jack doesn't want to even be in the same room as others during some long day. Plus it breaks up the freeformed days we've had so far.

My thought atleast is even if Jack doesn't have the social batteries to want to talk to anyone, he can still idly interact by listening in on and reacting to the other conversations, seeing what the other kids bought and are chatting about. Maybe asking Ash questions or commenting about the other kids, not because he wants to be friends of course just because they are there. Jack perhaps realising after a day of being forced to go shopping and travel a bunch in a tight minivan that... Yeah he can't avoid everyone.

He might not try and be their friends or even talk to them but atleast knowing their names is useful in general.

If you WANT to take a break from posting for a while, then we do not need to do the minivan thing right now. Me and Kai can do day 3 and Jack can come out of his room whenever you're up for posting again?

The Minivan idea was if you wanted to posting, but can't think of a reason for Jack to leave his room. We can always do Minivan on day 4 or later if you want a break?
