Ooo forgot to mention, gotta say I love those little early hints of Asher's crush on Jack, with little things like watching him from afar as he sat and ate meals alone and stuff. So adorable lol!

and yeah Nate is trying soo hard he just doesn't understand that that's not what jack needs/wants right now.

also glad you enjoyed that with Asher that was one heck of a post to write let me tell ya. Asher has a lot and I so mean a lot of similarities to me at that age and is in fact other than like his abuse and the drugs and all that he is pretty heavily based off me back then so writing that whole scene was well it was a bit rough.

I know I love it. Nate's got such a big heart but doesn't know how uncomfortable he is making poor Jack feel lol.

Yea that was written so nicely and powerfully, well done to you again. Also I love that, putting aspects of your real life into your characters. It makes them so much easier and and more fun to write. Hockey is a huge part of my life so I decided to make it a huge part of Jack's life. Also I tend to be a bit shy (although not to the extent of Jack) so I sympathize with him a bit in not wanting to talk to anyone. I also based his mature sense of respect for adults at that age off of me, because from a young age I always had that respect for my elders and the discipline to not roll my eyes at everything an adult told me to do. It's just the little things sometimes you put into your characters. Obviously, the hockey thing in Jack being the biggest real life parallel between me and him.

Yeah its great to make characters relatable to yourself in some way it makes writing them feel so different. There becomes a sense of pride when they accomplish things and it just feels a lot more personal.

Yep. Loving Asher's character so far. Nate's too but so far in terms of interactions with me and my character, Asher has been the star of the show lol.

Oh yeah, I had a literal 'awwww' at reading that. How sweet of the bully.
Now his only challenge is convincing Jack to hand over the stick to get repaired, and convincing him he isn't trying to trick him or do some other mean thing.

Now yea, you're right, the challenge for Ash is gonna be 1. getting into contact with Jack and 2. convincing him to talk to him or really do ANYTHING lol

Jack's not necessarily in the mood to talk to people, especially after this morning's events.

Yeah he's trying to atone for his mistakes and it might not be easy but he's gonna try. It's also definitely not going to be all forward progress from here he's definitely going to go back and forth a bit but he's trying to do better.

Yep, I like where his heart is. And of course, no one is perfect and Asher is not free of faults lol.

But it's certainly going to be hard to get into contact with Jack and to convince him he is being genuine after what just happened. Jack is a stubborn kid lol
