Fandom [OOC] Pokémon: Blown by Winds of War

Would you like to have a Pokémon's levels/stats numerically represented in the RP?

  • Yes, I'd like to have a visual representation of my Pokémon's stats.

Just personality left and a few tidbits here and there. Going with a Shiny Spinarak, gastly and Noivern as my Akimoto dude's partners, if that is alright. I know spinarak is a bug and gastly is a ghost, but both have poison as their secondary x.x

Would a non-official shiny color scheme (e.g. Kommo-o) count as an acceptable specialized variant? (Or does that apply to types?)

Since shinies are pure aesthetic — nothing makes them stronger than the classic — are we allowed more than one shiny on our team? Is there a limit?

Doesn't matter to me, but I have 2 very important questions before I commit to this rp

1. How long are you expecting my posts

2. How often are you expecting me to post

1) I'd like for posts to be at least one paragraph. More is always welcomed, but I'm RPing as a form of stress relief and fun; I don't want to obligate myself or anyone else to writing an essay.

2) One post per week will likely be the requirement. Nothing less than that.

Perfectly fine!

Again, the "Common" and "Uncommon" types are just recommendations.

Shiny Pokémon and Pokémon with unofficial color schemes are perfectly fine. Just keep in mind that Pokémon, like animals, have adapted to survive in their environment. Shiny Pokémon would stand out - much like albino animals in the real world - and be more prone to being eaten by predators or hunted by poachers.

You can certainly have more than one shiny Pokémon depending on your character's disposition and the like. An A'anin hunter, for instance, would probably not benefit from possessing shiny Pokémon. Blending into the environment is important for that way of life; shiny Pokémon would be liable to make that more difficult.

(Also, Kommo-o is one of my favorite Pokémon. They did its shiny dirty. :P )

Well work keeps my busy most of the day, so I'll do my best with the length

If my Akimoto character wielded a naginata, would they classify as a samurai? (Or would it be a different or no classification?)

You can choose to have no classification if you wish. If you want an official warrior title, then either a Samurai or a Martial Artist will do. The latter will use weapons, but are not wholly dependent on them. Samurai, on the other hand, take great pride in their weapons.

As a general "heads up" - keep in mind that I'm still working on the Lore while you're working on your characters. This mostly pertains to the Pokémon section - while TMs and HMs don't exist, I plan on creating a system of 'training' that characters can use to teach their Pokémon moves outside their generic move pool. I find bulbapedia to be a reliable source for information on Pokémon, so I highly recommend that as a source.

I use Serebii.net

Serebii works as well!

My preference for bulbapedia stems more from the site's design than anything else.

Regarding the "training system", is it restricted to via RP? Or can our character's team know moves outside of their gene pool beforehand? (i.e. off-screen training.)

Yes, I'll allow some TM/HM moves to be in a Pokémon's move pool prior to the RP. Your characters aren't fledgling tamers - or maybe they are - so it is to be expected that their Pokémon are well learned in some areas.

My Shinobi is almost completed o3o. Can we post the cs's or would you prefer us to wait?

Are the clan names just affiliations? Or do members take on the name? For example, *Insert First Name* Akimoto.

Feel free to post it. You'll be free to make changes - and I'll let you know if there's anything that needs to be altered.
Is there an age limit? Like I'm currently thinking of using a child
Not really; as long as there's reason for a child to be running around Rekisho, I see no issue.

It's mostly affiliation. Only the main family of the Akimoto Clan - that is, the family that the "Head" belongs to - uses the family name "Akimoto".

Apologies for the slow updates on the Lore page these past two days.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are busy for me between work and school; I plan on getting more items fleshed out and detailed tomorrow. Maybe tonight if my meetings don't drain my mental facilities too drastically.

Fair enough, and who would consider a child being used in an espionage capacity
