Of Shadows and Swords (Chiarra)

((Back and oh okay, it sounds good.))


She nodded at him and finished up her food. "You two should eat too," she said to them.
 
Archer rolled his eyes and popped a bite into his mouth. "I'm eating, I'm eating."


Lucius smiled a bit and started to eat too. "Ill eat on the road if I don't finish in time. It's all right."
 
((Goodnight lol))


Melody smiled and giggled at Archer and Lucius just as Natalie came over. "Hi," she said softly. "Are you okay Melody?" she asked her. "You were out all morning."


"I'm fine," she said. "I just needed a little rest was all."
 
((I was just about to say the same thing. So tired after work. Night))


Lucius nodded a little, shifting over to make room for Natalie in their little circle. "Just . . . a bit too much exertion, that's all."
 
((Lol. Great minds think alike ^_^ ))


Natalie smiled and sat down next to Lucius. "Well," she said. "I hope you're rested up because by tomorrow sometime we are going to make it to out destination."
 
Lucius blinked, surprised, then nodded a little. "Oh. Oh, good. Have you talked to Alrin? I would really like to help, and I think pulling me from the audience for a trick would be very entertaining for the viewers."
 
Natalie nodded and smiled.


"You still have to teach me to play those instruments," Melody reminded Archer happily.

"You should be able to when we reach town," Natalie answered. "We won't be doing any acts the first day anyways, since we'll be setting up for the show."
 
Lucius nodded slowly, understandingly, and thought about how much work it would take to get everything running. "We'll gladly help with that as well." he glanced at the others, smiling a bit. "When Archer's not playing music teacher, that is."
 
Natalie smiled, "Thank you. We can really use all the help we can get."


Melody smiled back and said, "I will help with everything I can...when I'm not getting lessons from the music teacher," she said smiling over at Archer.
 
((Sorry my replies have been so slow. A lots been going on lately with my overwhelming uber-increase in work hours, one of my friends being forced to quickly find a new house to live in, and my little cousin and another little girl I know being sick. Sometimes I just don't have time, or I'm not in the right mind frame for replying.))


Archer grinned. "That's what we're here for, after all. The more hands you have, the lighter the load, and all that."
 
((Oh I understand ^_^ . Take all the time you need and don't worry about it ^_^ ))


Natalie smiled at him and nodded.


((I'm thinking maybe we should time skip to something lol))
 
((Hmmm. Maybe to the next town, just to start the show? Or maybe in the one after that so they'll be in the actual shows already?))
 
It was almost easy while they were traveling and working, to forget that they were always being chased, could never drift too far or risk being caught. Lucius worked with Alrin and Natalie. And he, Natalie, Archer and Melody all worked together to piece together both Archer's costume and his routine. Everything was going smoothly, and after the trip to the next town, after their first stop, everything was organized well enough to begin showcasing their parts of the acts. Lucius thought Melody might be nervous, but Archer was only jittery because of anticipation and a giddy sort of joy. He kept looking at his costume and laughing.

Melody was nervous, since she had to play in front of a large group, because that was something she wasn't used to. She would do it though, because it would add to the effect of Archer's act. When he kept looking at his costume and laughing though, she looked at him. "What is it?" she asked him. "Do you not like it?" 
((And I'll be going back home so I won't have internet there until at least 7pm eastern time.))
 
((Sorry, I've been really busy with so many long hours at work and helping a friend get packed up to move soon and ugh -_- Just one reply before bed))


Archer was giggling quietly to himself still, and bit down on his lip when he realized Melody was speaking. "Hm?" He started, then stopped and grinned. "Oh. No, no, it's fine. Just . . . thinking silly thoughts." If it were a skirt rather than pants, he would look like a crossdresser.

"Like what?" she asked him. She was genuinely curious about these thoughts. She looked at the costume herself but didn't see anything wrong with it.
 
Archer just shrugged, ginning slightly to himself still. "I don't think anyone other than me would find them funny." He laughed a little. "I'm just too immature."
 
Archer pressed his mouth shut tight for a moment to keep from giggling again, and just nodded, taking it from her. "Going, going." He said, and walked around behind a changing screen they'd put up in their little tent. "You know," He said as he pulled his shirt off and tossed it up to hang over the top of the screen, "If this weren't a circus I would be afraid of being overly flamboyant. That's a first for me, so you know it's extreme."
 
Despite the changing screen, she turned around and faced the other way, blushing that he was changing in the same room. Though, she could've left but she didn't. She chuckled at his words however and said, "Well, if you would prefer a costume that was toned down some then I wouldn't mind to make you another."
