Fandom Odyssey of Power

No sweat Soph.

Anyway, I have an update thanks to your feedback. I'm still not sold on the beginning section, as I'm rubbish for writing truly "devastated" music in the sense of someone being destroyed emotionally. But hopefully it's a bit better than last time!

Super Saiyan Transformation

Let me know if it's any better than last time!

Again, balance and dynamics are coming later once I've nailed down where it should go. Right now I want to make sure the notes and structure sound like they're heading in the right direction. Also, read the description of the piece so that you understand what's going on.

Also, I updated the power increase calculations to a range of numbers based on how severe the condition is (or how favorable) so that it's never a fixed integer and we'll all be able to give ourselves very different power levels throughout.

Cheers!

Am I correct in assuming that our characters have different Command officers and Raid Leaders? Or, for this raid, would their rendezvous coordinates be the same?

Their coordinates can be similar, but they do not have to be the same. If you want your character to start in a different Raid Group than Era and Fae, then go for it. However, given the chain of command it's likely that we'll share Raid Commanders. I'll have a list of names for some of them before the weekend is over in the Neutral Characters page.

I might suggest lowering the opponents power levels.

Not only are all three superior, but two ate twice as string and the either almost three times. More so perhaps. That is a very very big difference in strength and speed. Not to mention also likely even more resilient.

Their power also likely notes them as soldiers. And would be more well prepared against a rush, with their reflexes already being superior. Not to mention it is three on one.

I would suggest toning it back to more manageable power levels to make the altercation more believable than implying Broc can take out numerous vastly superior opponents with ease. Brains are nice, but trying to kill a wolf with a straw normally implies the smartest thing you should have done is run.

I have to agree with King. The idea that your character, even with his God Finger, slicing the head off of a warrior with a power almost triple your own is not realistic. Given their higher power levels and reaction times granted therein, he'd have seen it coming and either stopped Broc or dodged it completely.

You'll have to do a bit of editing on that, as beating three enemies that are that much stronger than yourself is a 0% win game. If they're at your power level, or pushing maybe 600 then you have a chance. But with that big of a gap, not a chance.

Okay, that makes sense. And, just double checking so I don't make a mistake: the increase of power levels only occurs in the battle with the named NPCs, right? So if Teddy gets trigger-happy with the natives, I don't need to do any calculations for it.

Alright, thanks for telling me. I changed them to lower powers, so you can assume they are all lower level soldiers. I also removed one of them.

Good idea Natevess.

Remember that the average power level of the inhabitants is 1,300. Their true warriors will be pushing even greater power levels while their lower level soldiers will be closer to our range or just a tad bit stronger. Era was lucky enough to find weaklings among them, but she won't get lucky like that a second time.

Looking back on it, I seemed to have thought that the numbers I originally picked were closer to ours than they actually were, as I was thinking of the Raditz fight mostly while I wrote up that post. I'm guessing the average civilian power level, or military recruit would be about 500?

Likely so, yes.

Much better, I believe.

I apologize for the rather brief post, but I wanted to establish my character's arrival on the planet separate to her joining the actual battle.

Hey @KingHink, @Sophileon, @Trignome, @Natevess, @Dennis Reynolds!

There's an update to the Energy Types in the Mechanics page which better explains the differences between how energy can be used in this RP (At least I hope it's a better explanation). Take some time to read it through, especially the first part about what each aspect of the imagery represents.

Thank you!

Would it be realistic for a Saiyan to just show up in one of the groups, or do they have their own designated group?

Each Saiyan will have a designated group, as that's how Raids like this work. Unless you're an Elite with a power level to match, you're in a group and serving under an Elite. No exceptions.

Hey guys.

I won't be on for the next couple of days. My health has taken a rather dramatic turn for the worse these last two days, and I've already fallen over twice due to light headedness since I woke up this morning. Once I'm feeling better I'll be back online and posting again. Sorry about this.

Hey!

Sorry about my horrendous bout of illness. Thankfully it's all over now (mostly, save for a bit of recovery time to put back on the 6 pounds I lost for not eating this last week and making sure the infection goes away in its entirety over the next few days).

So, let's get the ball rolling again shall we!?

For those who are still combat capable, I'll let you continue your fight until you either wish to have your character recalled from the field as the battle takes a fortuitous turn for the Saiyans, or you can be defeated and pulled out like most of us have.

Up to you!

I'll be posting later this afternoon once I've had a bit of a chance to rest and get something to eat (since I need those 6 pounds back).

Hey guys!

I made a slight adjustment to my previous post instead of posting something new. It's a 2 hour time skip for those who have been beaten already and taken away from he battlefield. Consider it time for reflection of what happened while those who are still combat capable have the time to continue posting their battles.

Once everyone is either beaten or called away from the field due to the Saiyan's beginning to dominate, we'll move forward in time to the point of recovery for those who were beaten.

Woohoo! I got time to post again. Finally!

Alrighty, for the sake of keeping 'being dramatically beaten' from becoming a broken record during the first altercation, I believe I will have Fae last through the battle.

Therefore, I shall inquire on some reason that they might be called away. Obviously fighting to the death or until they can't fight anymore is not the best policy for the longevity of a warrior race, I would imagine that after so long in battle that relief squads come to take over so the prior squads can recover to come back later. Would this be a justifiable reason to leave the battlefield?

Yes, it would. With the battle going well, the more powerful warriors will come to relieve the weaker ones and send them back to clear the field of potential casualties.

Could that possibly be tied in with the recovery of Era and Broc? Era specifically, as I know she is in the general vicinity as Fae.

Example, Fae is fighting on a different part of the front. Her section is the first to be granted relief and as Fae falls back, she is the one that helps to recover Era. This way, relevant characters do not have to be split up for such a long period of time. And gives the opportunity for character relationships to be brought about.

I have no objections to such a course of action if you'd like to write in that Fae was among those who came to Era's side to carry her off the field to the medical vehicles to be transported off world.
