I've been summoned. Phayne Phayne Yo, uhh, hm. I'm game with coming up with a relationship for Shirou. I already have a descent idea of how Raiko would view a shikigami in general.

The shinshi (not shinshu) communicates with the kami of the shrine it worships, thus being made aware of Amateratsu's will. He is basically her manifestation on the physical realm, so to speak, her messenger of sorts.
Hmmmmm does that mean he was created of Ameteratsu, and that his origins should be linked with that? 'cause I was running off an idea for his history that I'd probably need to scrap then. Also that would make his age linked with the shrine right? (As for the spelling I just copy pasted from a post you made in the interest thread whoopsy, changed it to the proper spelling now)

The kami created humans and yōkai, in his case he was born with the call of Amateratsu, to do her will. A suggestion I can give you is to have the clan he was born for have origins from the ground the Amane Jingū shrine was built on. While his clan could have chosen to leave with the prrsence of humans nearby, he chose to stay in order to fulfill his destiny as a shinshi.

Oh, if that's the case, sorry!

Mmm Okay sooo I was originally planning that I'd write his background based around the types of tengu (Daitengu and Karasu Tengu) Karasu came first but are now know as "Lesser Tengu" and servants of the Daitengu. I was planning that he'd have been more reckless and bad as he was younger and that he'd be rivals with a Daitengu, with them both practicing and stuffs together. I was actually intending for him to be old enough that he was one of the ones that spread this misconception as they were observed by a priest and the dude messed up the story badly. (Nobuyuki naturally finds it slightly annoying and also ridiculous as Daitengu are the worse ones) I think I can make it work still but I want more info on the shrine so I don't mess up

Welp, it'd definitely be interesting if they had a history like that together. You can read what I've written in the backstory so far and lmk if you think you'd want him to be involved!
Yeah if you wanted to, Shirou could have been involved. :p I have no issues with that.

Oh, do tell :p

Once all the CS is done, it would be very interesting to see all the relationships :p

Hmm potentially.

Could probably have Shirou's Paper Doll sealed away for a few of those centuries to explain the length in time.

Roughly how many generations of Shrine heads would there have been? Assuming there is at least two per century

Hehehe hopefully at least 10 as I plan for Nobuyuki to be a few thousand years old.

Im just wondering if its fathomable for Shirou to have been without a Master during all those years. It wouldn't make sense if he served each new head without hesitation only to suddenly decide not to once Kazumi arrived.

Maybe he really didn't for a few? It'd make sense as the other yokai would be used to it then. Maybe every couple of masters an exceptional one came along. (Or he was re-summoned?)

Oh, Elenion! May I create a relationship with Uneri? Since he's a snake yokai, I figure Kosai will be intimidated by him being her yokai is more suited as prey of snakes

I've got a question. Would you have any issue if Kazumi (up to you if she is aware of it or not) was sort of like a reincarnation of a previous house head; the one that initially summoned Shirou?. So when she was born, his Paper doll reacted and he took corporeal form once more, however not fully understanding Kazumi's relationship to his former Master, Shirou is reluctant to accept her as the new shrine head.

He's generally harmless though, so if anything her fear should be mostly unfounded (aside from the obvious "snakes eat rabbits" part)

Phayne Phayne From what I've researched on Shikigami and the background I've been developing for Raiko's past, Raiko could be ultimately neutral towards Shirou but wary or biased towards his behavior. For example he could respect Shirou for his dedication to the shrine but dislike him greatly for his outlook and indifference for manners and etiquette in public.

Since Raiko likes to keep appearances, as Shinji I doubt he'd ever show his true distaste for Shirou greatly outside from the occasional jab or snide remark to annoy him when the opportunity presented itself. They could get along to an extent but I doubt Raiko would show him much affection outside of his respect for his position and loyalty to his shrine.

That'll be great! She'll definitely won't be aware of the reincarnation thing. She won't know why Shirou will be cold towards her. Perhaps she'll hear about the paper doll thing from shinshi sometime during the rp?

Oh yeah I imagine he'd tell her a bunch of things he knew, but he'd probably leave most of the info on the others for her to personally learn from them. He'd probably mention he was a shikigami and expect her to ask him more.

Aite, lemme know if you want them to have tussled. If anything, Shirou could have been there for the priest's protection.
