Humans without the "sight" can only see a yōkai's human form. In the case of hybrid forms or true forms, theycannot see them but they can "sense" the yōkai much like someone with one with a sight can sense if a yōkai is in their presence, but unlike the former, it is accompanied by a sense of dread and fear, if varying depending on each person.

Also, RI.a , my CS has only got the essentials down but I can tell you already Kazumi is having a clingy, violently shy and gullible tree spirit yōkai for a brother figure.

Can Yokai show other forms if they desired? I.e. With Shirou, if hypothetically vandals came to the shrine, he'd look more intimidating in his Canine Form rather then as a person.

Since his canine form resembles a wolf, I think it can classify as a human form as well for him, given how skilled he is at shapeshifting. So, yes, humans without the sight may see that form and be induced with the sensations I mentioned it earlier if Shirou wishes it so.

I am aware my character is still on the initial stages for you all but would you be interested in having them share a "kindred spirits" kind of relationship? Given how both fiercely loyal they are towards Kazumi/Amane Jingū and "innocent" in nature in regards to the outside world, I get a feeling they could either get along well or clash like rivals. Kaede is childish by nature as well so it's not exactly a stretch.

I reckon in regards to Amane Jingu they would get along great and enjoy one another's company. However depending on how your character feels about Kazumi, they may clash. Shirou as he is now, does not acknowledge Kazumi as the heir to the shrine and is going to compare her to the vastly more experienced former Master who also looked after the Shrine.

I.e. Kazumi isn't as strong as my former master, therefore I do not acknowledge her authority. His naivety doesnt allow him to realise the reasons as to why their experience levels are different, nor does he want to accept the underlying potential that Kazumi has. The latter form of reluctance is a subconcious fear of 'permanently' replacing the former master who he was loyal to.

In essence his loyalty towards his former Master is preventing him from accepting Kazumi as the Shrines Heir. So if your character readily accepted Kazumi, then Shirou would have a word or two to say. Outside of that however they should in my opinion get along great.

Can you tell me about the Shrine Master's ancestors? I was hoping that one of them could've had run-ins with Mamushi in the past, before he ended up at the Shrine

The shinshi (not shinshu) communicates with the kami of the shrine it worships, thus being made aware of Amateratsu's will. He is basically her manifestation on the physical realm, so to speak, her messenger of sorts.

I haven't put any timeline in, though in his history he was originally evoked by his summoner to fend off troublesome Yokai
