NinJa StYLe

Jay watches I awe at the flow of movement. Even though she already knew how to do it, Xander did it with more style. She can watch him all day if she could but more papers came in. "Blasted council." She turns to Xander. "You will stay here alright? I'll be back in a couple hours. I got unfinished business to attend to. Don't try escaping," she warns, "and please watch out for Kiki. The little girl has her life hard." With that, Jay departs.

Moments later, a petite little girl comes up and pulls onto Xander's sleeve. She has bruises and cuts on her arms yet there was a smile plastered across her face.

"Hm?" Xander turns to look at the girl. He noticed that the girl might be the one that Jay was talking about. What was her name again? Kiwi! No, wait that wasn't right. Ki-...ki-...oh Kiki!

Kiki points to an apple in a boy's hand as if saying he stole it. Her stomach growled and she blushed in embarrassment.

Jay got back inside her headquarters and reviews the papers sent by the council. They reported of deaths in the woods and were blaming them of it. Damn the elders. They assume things that hasn't been proven yet. What did the Keepers ever do you? Rogue suddenly popped out from under the desk and jumps into Jay's lap. He went back to sleep as she ran her hands through his coarse fur. She once again looked through the images of the dead bodies. All were slaughtered the same way. Slit throat with an X on their chest. One image showed a little boy from her village. It was one of the orphaned boys. She grimaced. These killings needed to stop. If no one was going to do anything, she will.

Xander saw the boy with the apple and noticed that the apple was slightly bruised. He scanned the area with his eyes then returned his gaze to Kiki, "Wait here". The teen spotted a tree and climbed it. He grabbed an apple as he went back down returning to Kiki. His hand rubbed the apple on his sleeve a couple of times before giving it to her.

Kiki's eyes shone bright. She hugs Xander's leg. (SOOO KWAII)

Jay placed Rogue back on the ground and took out all her necessary equipment. Now all she had to do was wait for nightfall to come before trying to hunt down the person responsible for this. Before that, she came back out from the hut and walks back to the training grounds in time to see Kiki hug Xander. Well someone's got a fan already. Jay smirks. "TRAINING IS OVER! EVERYONE DISMISSED!" a sentry calls and ell the kids scattered.

"Looks like you made a friend today," she tells Xander as everyone was gone.

Xander's eyes slightly widened as the girl hugged his leg. He relaxed afterwords and patted her shoulder once she stopped and left. "Was that Kiki?" Xander asked while wondering what he would be ordered to do next.

Jay sighs watching Kiki wander back to her house with sorrow eyes. "Yes that was," she replies then turns to point at her headquarters. "I want you to stay and wait there for Keade to come. I'll be out tonight," Jay instructed knowing he wasn't stupid enough to try and escape. The sun was almost down, signalling night was to come. She would be on guard, assuming they would come.

"Okay" Xander replied walking into Jay's headquarters. The teen sat down on a chair as he noticed the sunset. He didn't mind the confinement. Xander assumed that it was actually for his own good so that he would moderate his frequent leaving from his clan. Yep, it was best to look on the bright side. His eyes began to grow heavy as the time passed causing him to fall asleep again. His energy was almost recharged.

It was near midnight. Jay returns to her quarters to get dressed into her ninja clothing, not bothering to see if anyone was in there. She took off her usual clothes and was about to put on the suit when a horn blew twice. Great. Once meant the chief was departing. Twice meant he or someone has returned. Jay was barely done changing when Kiki enters with a letter from the messenger. He wanted to speak to her immediately in a private room. The redhead whispers a thank you before returning back to her clothes, at the same time wondering what the messenger had to say.

Xander, who was still asleep, heard the horn blow twice then moved around in his chair. He just adjusted his position but kept sleeping unaware of whatever was happening in Jay's quarters. The teen only moaned once while moving then resumed his silence sleeping and not really dreaming about much.

Before she left her room, Jay took a chain and tied it to Xander's foot and locked it in place. Not only will that keep him in place but it proves to Kane that she has "token care" of their guest.

"Welcome back." She eyes the red cloth covering in his hand knowing exactly what was underneath it. Their eyes met. One was filled with hatred, the other full of amusement. Jay was first to look away. Kane grins knowing he had won and they both retired to the meeting room.

"You killed him didn't you?" she asks before her father could say anything. "Ah yes, such a pitiful sight too. He was so young." Kane uncovered the cloth and threw the head onto the table. Jay stares at it unmoving. She was used to this already. He would bring in the heads of his enemies or their men when he won a victory in battle. To her, it was fairly disgusting but to him, it was just an entertaining toy. "But, there is another working alongside this one," he added. Jay quickly looks up to him for more information.

"What do you mean?"

"This boy here couldn't have made all those murders himself. He had help. Such a pathetic sight. He couldn't even wield a sword correctly."

Many thought rolled into Jay's mind. Who was this mysterious person and what did they want from them?

Xander's eyes slowly opened as he felt Jay tie his foot with a chain. When he saw Jay stand up to leave, Xander quickly closed his eyes again. He waited until she left until he opened his eyes again. The teen looked at the chain then outside the window. Restraint. This whole feeling was new to him. Just staying in one place and looking at a bright light that shined in the darkness was as if he was looking for that freedom again. The bright light was the full moon which he frequently saw in most of his treks. The sight was so common to him until that moment. He looked at it differently because he hadn't realized how much it meant to him until the moment he lost it. It was some weird symbolism. The moon and it's light seemed to represent his freedom from the night or darkness and stuff like that. Where was Jay going anyway? It was late.

"You were.. hunting them?" she questioned surprised. Jay looks up to her father and thought maybe he wasn't the bad man he used to be but at that moment, he stood up and slapped her across the face. "Don't get too cocky because it was your brother," Kane growls at his daughter disapprovingly before walking out on her. Jay shakily stood up but it wasn't from the hit. Ashe. He was alive. She couldn't believe it. But, what made Kane so mad? It was like he thought she knew it was her brother all along. Jay sighs knowing this wasn't something out of the ordinary. Her father would blame things on her and then when proof was given, he'd say sorry and pretend he never accused her.

She weakly headed back to her room and laid down on her bed. The redhead was exhausted but she couldn't bring herself to sleep. Thoughts of her brother were the only thing in her mind. Images of their childhood flashed by. There had to be a reason he left and caused all these murders.

Xander watched as Jay entered the room and flopped onto her bed. He decided not to say anything since he noticed her lack of energy. She might just fall asleep in a few minutes. It was best not to interrupt that slow transition into the "sleep world". Xander waited a while noticing Jay's inability to sleep. "Are you okay?" He asked. This ninja was used to staying up late into the night. "You didn't go into the forest did you? There's another pretty skilled fighter there around these areas at this time...I'm sure you would have been able to take him on though" Xander forced a little smile to try and act somewhat positive even if she wasn't facing him at the moment....which he couldn't really tell since the moonlight was not shining at her in the darkness they were in.

Jay sighed deeply and threw a knife next to Xander's head. "Shut up blondie, I'm trying to think." She rolls over facing him, still deep in thought. Nothing makes sense to her anymore whatsoever. The kidnapping. The murders. The clans rivalry. Such stupid things. Her thoughts drifted to little Hazel and Ryu. The girl was so stubborn and cute and Jay didn't want her involved in any of this. The boy? Not so much. The last they saw each other was when they were caught sneaking into the forbidden weapon room. "How's your family?" The words slipped out of her mouth before she could close it.

Xander looked at the knife and bit the handle. He pulled it out of the wall and dropped it onto his lap to shut himself up. The teen raised his brow, "They're normal. Why?"

(Sorry for the short post im walking around right now)

She breathes a sigh of relief. So they were fine. "Nothing. Just wanted to know," she replies yawning a little. But, before drifting off to sleep, she threw the key to Xander. Jay trusted him. He knew the consequences of sneaking out and he wouldn't risk that.

Xander got himself out and put the key on the table. "Thank you" He said standing up from his seat and stretching. He's been sitting for the longest time! Xander leaned against the wall and glanced at Jay, "Good night".

Jay was already in a deep slumber, and that's when the nightmares began.

Blood. It was everywhere. Splattered on walls and smeared on curtains. It was a miracle she survived this long. She kept running. Running. But, from what? She turned around and let out an ear piercing scream. Then, all went black. She knew it was a dream but why was it so suffocating? Like she was in water. She couldn't breathe. Sweat soaked her skin and she slipped away. It was quiet again.

Xander tilted his head as he watched Jay drift off to sleep. Was she...sweating? He blinked a couple of times then lied down on a mat. Not like she would tell him why anyway. Xander fell asleep because he needed to reenergize anyway.

(I know these posts are short SORRY! They will get back to normal soon)

Jay rolled on her bed, feeling uncomfortable in every position.

He killed two in front of her eyes. Her parents. They were brutally murdered. Her mother hanged from a rope, her father, limbs all cut. It was a disgusting sight.

More sweat built up on her body. She was a mess.

The hooded figure turned around. She recognize the same brown hair that was passed from her father and the same piercing sea blue eyes. Ashe. He lunged for her. She screamed.

Jay woke up as her body hit the floor, head first. Ugh. Worst nightmare ever.

Xander rolled up and looked toward Jay's direction. "What happened? Are you okay?!" He asked getting ready to lung at someone if he needed to. His hands lightly rubbed his eyes. "Jay are you still here?" Xander reached down to feel around not being able to see in the dark.

Jay had rolled into an eggroll on the floor. "Nnn.." She moaned like a dead corpse. Her head pounded and her body hurts like hell. Who knew falling out of a bed made so much pain? She heard Xander call out and try to get to her in the dark but she couldn't speak. Her throat was parched. Water would be a good thing right now.

"Jay" Xander's hand felt her shoulder. He gently lifted her bridal style to the remaining moonlight shining through the window. His eyes widened when he saw her covered with sweat. "Do you need anything? What's happening?" Xander asked putting her down on the chair.

(You had to unwrap the eggroll me first! -3- but now it's too late)

Jay pointed to the water canister on the drawer as she help her head in one hand. She felt like crap waking up. Ever heard the saying, 'someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning'? Yea that's her but in more literate terms.
