TACTICAL MAYHEM
Coffee machine? Well, it was true that the detective treasured the device, that dark, roasted tonic was pivotal to the survival of the officers in the deadliest place in the entire city: The merciless and monotone halls CDPD, and the paperwork that working there entailed. That said, are all phoenixes so brutish that the concept of "mitigating collateral damage" flies over their head? That grenade was another contribution to the multiple threats that currently imposed the establishment.
That's right, multiple, he was able to hear it all; The gunshots, the screams, the explosions and everything in-between, even the thick ceiling did little to stop the roars of the chaos from above. This assault was as large-scale as Eric had feared, and could only hope that his allies could handle the invading ruffians. The detective, on his end, had to take care of this entertaining fellow, as time was now precious. He subtlely eyes around the room, taking interest in the butteflies that layed around the break room. Could they be part of the enemy? He had seen butterflies a few times before in the building, apparently due to a member from another district who visited from time to time, but these were clearly different in terms of color and shape, he had to be careful on how to approach from now on, without wasting any more time.
"Sorry, but I have no plans of leaving just yet"
He clapped his hands together, the light in each combining into a large, radiant orb which only increased in volume and luminescence as the seconds passed. Long a slender protuberances started to be born from the orb, moving wildly as erratic tentacles. He was prepairing one of the many moves he had developed over the years, one of his most exhausting moves to be precise, but its crowd control would allow him to face the mysterious butterflies, the phoenix and his projectiles, all at once.
But then, it happened. From above the two, the ceiling collapsed, tons of debris falling from the second floor and landing all over the break room, a combination of force, sound and dust quickly destroyed Eric's concentration, elimination any trace of his previous move. Reacting quickly, the detective jumped aside, casting a ball of light on his hand which he proceeded to crush, causing a light shockwave all around him which pushed most of the blinding dust away. And there he was, atop the pile of, the man that resembled a combination of a wrathful, wounded beast and a fair maiden, none other than Eric's partner: Inigo Han.
"Oh, hey Ini, seems like it's pretty hectic up there"
His relaxed face masked the combination of worry for the silver-haired man's injuries, and the attention he still had for the phoenix. He was, in fact, ready to attack once again, the place was already a mess, so caution was out the window.
