The One Who Tries
Filth In The Gutter
"Damn, interns," Timothy said to himself as he ran his fingers over the keyboard. Of course, they would panic and sound unnecessary alarms. He had been overseeing the entire ordeal, and just as he was pressing the alarm, the dumb intern did. It took Timothy time to disable a few programs that would have responded to the alarm. "Doesn't he know that all the alarms are fire alarms? Well, I guess it doesn't matter. We'll deal with him soon enough." He turned back to Aristotle. "What should we do now?"
The big hulking man around him was still sitting in a chair, observing the situation from one of the many screens at the security level. "We should inform the boss. You know how he is. Whether big or small, he'd still beat his to a pulp if he heard the lab was attacked." Timothy gave the nod to that. Their boss's temper was rather volatile, but at least it didn't kill them. "Activate the sentries as well. This would be a good time to test them out."
"Got it. Let's see-" Before Timothy could type on the keyboard again, his phone rang. "Ah, yes, hello?" He said as he took the call.
"Timothy, it seems like we're under attack. You've been on cams; do you know where it came from?" It was Sang-Cheol's voice coming from the other end.
"Yeah, I know. I was about to release sentries-"
Sang-Cheol interrupted him. "No, send an announcement first and then release the sentries. You should know how the order is done by now."
The security personnel let out a huff. "Yeah, yeah, fine, I'll do that first." Canceling the previous command, he reached out to the microphone and tested it for a second before leaning in close.
"Attention. Attention. We're under attack. The attack seems to have come from the west side of the lab and is emerging at the loading area. Please either A. Leave to deal with them, or B. take cover if you're useless. That is all."
With that done, Timothy leaned back in his seat and sighed.
"And Hubert?"
"Oh, he has a heart attack. He'll probably blow up soon. In around two minutes or so?"
"Well, is that so? It can't be helped, I suppose. I'll take Rebecca and Gerda to fight off the intruders with everyone else. You know what to do." With that, the call ended.
"Sheesh, who made that guy boss," Timothy mumbled. Aristotle offered no response as he returned to observing the screens above him. "Now, what was I- Ah, right. Back to activating the sentries." With that lighting, fast commands began to issue from the security personnel.
