Mystery (Music + Skyfilms)

He took this road a lot, but he decided to just go with a simple "Yes." He acted as if he were proud of himself. "So, you said I could stay tonight, right? You aren't going to revoke that favor, are you?"

Eliora nodded no, "you can stay for as long as you want. All the way up to when you disappear again if you like..." Her grip on the steering wheel tightened. She knew where to go from here.

He sighed at her comment. "I won't disappear. I told you that, alright? So that means you are saying that I can stay with you forever. If I leave, it will be if you ask me too, or I feel like I am causing you to much trouble, and I will inform you when I leave. Ok?"

Eliora nodded once more, "that will be just fine.." She took another turn pulling up beside her house.

Before opening the door, he asked. "So... where do I sleep? The couch would be just fine for me. However..." He thought he wouldn't feel like apart of the house if he didn't have a room. But he didn't want to take over her Office area. "It's fine."

Eliora waved him to follow her upstairs. She walked without a sound until she came to a door and pulled out a key unlocking it. She pushed it open,it had a bed desk and dresser already inside. "No couches.."

"I thought this was a closet... It makes sense though. I thought this house, even with it's size, only had 1 bedroom." He walked in and sat on his new bed. "Ooh, comfy. Thanks so much."

Eliora leaned into the doorway, "there's three bedrooms, ones my office though." She explained.

"That makes sense... I guess." He sat there awkwardly, trying to think of something to say. It was easier to make a conversation when they were kids. "So, tomorrow I will need to buy new clothes before the Interview. I have some money, but..." He felt ashamed asking for money. Especially of someone willing to have him in her house, and feed him.

Eliora giggled, "of course I'll help you get clothes. You just have to ask, my job pays well Adarian." She ran a hand through the side of her head.

He couldn't help but smile. "Thank you. Thanks for everything. I am so glad there is at least one person in this world that doesn't make me want to kill them." He realized what he said probably didn't make her feel better like he hoped. Before she could respond, "That isn't what I meant. I mean that there is at least one Decent person in this world." I totally screwed up.

Eliora plastered on a smile as if she understood, but those kind of statements stuck to her now.

"Thank you, it's nice to finally have a friend as well."

He cleared his throat, "So... Should we continue training?" Adarian asked because he could tell her smile was fake. A change of subject would do him well.

Eliora nodded, "ya.." She spoke hesitantly before turning and leaving down the satires.

He got up, taking off his drenched jacket, and followed her down the steps. This is my new home. He thought, taking it all in. "So, where are you going to train me, Teach? In the Office?"

"Nope, in my living room." She stepped into her living room but stopped him in the doorway.

"Inspect my room, right now inspect my living room."

"Alright then I guess you've stared at my room enough me cocky pants." Ah crossed her arms, "turn around and don't look." She shoved him away from the doorway playfully before turning and throwing her lamp aside. It thumped on the carpet but didn't shatter surprisingly. She continued to do things like this trashing her living room. In the middle of it she removed a book from a shelf.

"Alright now comeback in, without touching anything tell me what's missing."

"Um... Is this a trick question? How am I supposed to tell? There could be multiple things, or nothing at all, for that matter." Great, this is a lot harder than I thought.

"You had your time to observe, most of the time I can't see the before on a body or on a crime scene. Here's a hint it's one thing." She stepped out of his way, what he had taken was hidden out of his sight.

He observed closer. "Well the couch is still here... So it isn't that." He smiled, even though if he wanted the job, he needed to be serious. However, he did see a book leaning onto another. "Is it a book?"

"Yes, but what book? And how did you know?" Eliora watched him inspect the shelf her body relaxed.

"How am I supposed to know? I didn't have the time to read each and every title." He glared at her. How was he supposed to know? "It was leaning onto another one though. It was just a guess, a lucky one at that apparently."

Eliora took the book out from behind her back, examining it as she stepped towards him.

"A world hidden in the mist. A great read...." She pointed out holding it out to him before stepping to where it was before.

"To back up your hypothesis of it being the book, you can point out that there's dust on this shelf but not where the book was before..." She wished to continue a smile appearing on her face. But knew she wouldn't stop once she had a chance.

"But do you understand, you must always inspect the scene, observe the scene. For clues and information that may back up your beliefs."

Adarian nodded, as he was finally understanding her point. "I get it. So, Mrs. Teacher, anything else before supper?" For some reason, he liked calling her Teacher. Not for any particular reason, other than making her feel special.
