Mystery (Music + Skyfilms)

Eliora stood up in the silent room, she being the only one occupying their work space due to the late time. Others had left leaving her to her own work, knowing that she lived for her work. Her white laced flats made a small noise on the tiled floor as she went towards a wall of drawers. Many of them where full of new bodies, all being killed ruthlessly by the same person. The strategy of killing had a small pattern, but why they where killing these people was still unknown.

The murderer left the townhouse before the man got out of the bathroom. As he opened the door, the rain had begun to turn into large, pouring droplets. "3... 2... 1..." He counted down as the shrieks from an adult bellowed throughout the small neighborhood. The gravel road crunched underneath every footstep. His black hoodie was drenched by the time he made it to the main road. Since he was in the middle of the road, a car stopped before hitting him. "What the hell is your problem? It's 1 in the morning!" He stood there, turning towards the outraged driver, revealing his mask. He walked towards the blue, beat up pickup and opened the front car door. "Get out of here dude! What is your problem?" The killer's grip was inhuman. He threw out the driver and took the truck for himself, leaving the man out in the cold, wet night.

Eliora studied the body set in front of her, she leaned on her elbows her blue eyes skimming the corpses wounds. She was allured by the sight, loving her job more then any man. The paleness of the dead mans corpse reminded her of her own, and his brown eyes glazed over and dazed sent provocative chills down her spin. Eliora smiled like a child as she reached out with a gloved hand and ruffled the corpses hair before pushing his tray back into one of the morgues many cabinets. Yes, she was quite abnormal. Every time she skipped down the offices halls she'd earn glares, and whispers about her behavior. But she didn't mind, she didn't care.

In the morning, in a more sophisticated look, he decided to see an old friend. It has been quite some time, so he put on a suit and some cologne. He lived in an old, run-down apartment, which was only 3 miles from her house. Even though they had known one another since grade school, they haven't seen each other in almost 2 years. As he headed outside to walk, the grey clouds and the cool ocean breeze calmed him.

Eliora had fallen asleep on the floor in the morgue, her co-workers had entered not batting an eye at the sight of her on the floor. It was normal for her, her white hair to be spread a crossed her back as she laid in some odd position on the tiled floor of some room. She didn't imagine to make any break throughs that day though she was nearing something, so she allowed herself to sleep for the first time in the last four days.

Walking up the steps, and knocking on the door, he wondered why she needed such a big house since she lived alone. After several attempts, and no responses, he wondered if she was at work still. She did work as a detective for the state, after all. Long nights weren't uncommon.

Sitting on the porch stairs, he looked at his arm, decorated with scars he had acquired as a kid. Eliora had taken care for him, since his parents abandoned him. He had no one to look up to, or to teach him right from wrong.

Eliora awoke with a start, she reached into her pocket checking her phone for the time as Julie her co-worker called out from her desk.

"Go home Williams, not showering isn't helping you." Eliora rolled her eyes as she slipped her phone back into her pocket and pressed her warm palms onto the floor and pushing herself up. She was quite young to work in such an official area, and to be the head of Forensics would not be expected out of her. And though it worked her to the bone, her co-workers envy drenched words always perked up her spirits.

Eliora drove home, her head bobbing up and down as she fought the urge to fall back asleep.

A car pulled up to he house. The engine shut off, and she slammed the door behind her. She mustn't have noticed he was there as she pulled up, because she walked to the house with her head down as if she were about to pass out. "Long time no see, huh my friend?"

Eliora slowly made her way up her steps yawning into her hand as she fumbled with her keys searching for her house key. But once a voice arose behind her she dropped her keys in surprise and took out her pepper spray, letting out a yelp as she leaned back and sprayed it.

"Rape!" She yelled as she scrunched her eyes to deflect the spray.

"Eli! It's me!" He coughed, rubbing his eyes. The burning was excruciating, and he hoped she would invite him in to flush it out. He didn't mean to sneak up on her, but he has had a lot of practice over the years, so it seemed natural.

Eliora dropped the pepper spray once she heard the voice, "A-Adarian..." She spoke in disbelief and ran up wrapping her arms around him. She was quite small compared to him, the top of her head meeting his chest as she clung to him until she once again realized what she did.

"o-oh ya! Sorry!" She called out as she bent over now wide awake as she picked through each key until she found the house key and stuck it in the lock turning the knob and entering the empty household forgetting about picking up the pepper spray on the front porch.

"May I come in?" Adarian asked, just to be polite. He walked in anyway, barely able to open his eyes. The burning sensation stung worse after time. A good thing he knew the house well, since Eliora has had it for so long. Heading to the bathroom, and bumping into a wall here and there, the bathroom door was locked. Adarian tried banging on it, but there was no answer. "Eliora, a little help?" He called out.

Eliora fiddled with her hands anxiously staring at her hands before hearing Adarian and quickly followed him to her bathroom door. She had this thing where she had a lock on every door in her house, her job had taught her that you never knew when you'd have to hide form a killer. The ring in her hand held several keys, some even for her closets. Immediately she found her bathroom key unlocking the door and opening it.

"Sorry.."

"No problem..." Adarian quickly turned on the sink, and flushed out his eyes. They still stung, be he could finally open them. Standing there, still in the bathroom, He turned to Eliora. "So... How's it going? It's been a while, hasn't it?" He grabbed a hand towel to dry his face.

Eiora sniffled, tears burning the edges of her eyes. Her breaths would hitch, as she whipped under her eyes, not removing her eyes from her best friend. "It's going j-just fine..." Her hands shook as she once again stepped forward wrapping her arms tightly around him. Her words where muffled as she spoke into his chest, "I missed you....the house is so empty.."

He wasn't sure what to do, but he wrapped his arms around her as well. He made a bold choice, but he asked about the recent murders, and if she had any leads. "I am sure they put you on the case, right?" As Adarian pulled away, he saw a look in her face as if he had crossed into a place way to soon.

Eliora stared upwards, biting her lower lip as if at war with herself. "That's classified information, for all I know your the killer.." She mumbled the last part as a joke to lighten up the now tense feeling which had creeped up on her.

He chocked up, frightened, then realized she thought she was joking. "Ah, yes. It is me. I confess." He joked too, but he didn't like this subject. "So, Other than work, how has life been treating you?" They were still in the bathroom, so he kindly gestured that they move to a different area in the house.

Eliora smiled giggling into her hand as she stepped out of the bathroom. She waited for him to leave before turning off the light and closing the door and locking it shut. Before walking towards her living room, "um, life has been stressful..." she huffed out running a hand through her hair as she collapsed into the couch.

"Well, I wish I could help. I am sorry for going away for so long." He sat next to her, and looked into her eyes. "Do you remember when we were kids?" Adarian actually didn't remember much, nor did he want to. Well, other than the memories they shared together. They were always the best of friends.

Eliora had a faint smile on her face at the memories, they might as well had been siblings. They where always playing and laughing with one another, but at a point before he disappeared they grew slightly distant from one another. But she still nodded, "of course I do."

Smiling, he rolled down his sleeve that had shown his scars. She knew about them, but she would never bring them up in a conversation before. When he was a kid, he was abused until his parents died. Even then, he was treated as an outcast. By everyone but Eliora. She saw him as a real person, which was the only thing that made him feel he still belonged.

Eliora stared at each scar, every one having some story behind it. She wanted to hear every tale, but that was her forensics side whispering into her mind. To keep her mind off of it she looked away awkwardly questioning, "so, how have you been? Any careers?"

"Well, actually I was hoping to get a job where your at. Do you think you could hook me up?" It was a major thing to ask, even if they were buds for at least 15 years. "It was just a thought." He looked down to the floor, now thinking he made a mistake.

Eliora stared at him thoughtfully, "It would be nice to have someone who doesn't find me weird there," She stated sitting up straighter, the thought persuaded her. "Do you have any experience?"
